Depreciation of the Previous Fiscal Year want to post in Current FiscalYear

I have already posted Depreciation for the year 2008 by using Planned Posting Run (T.code:AFAB)
After that I have created one Asset Master (T.code: AS01)
In AS01, Depreciation tab , I have set Depreciation starts from 19.09.2007, i.e. Fiscal year: 2007
I have capitalised this asset as on 31.03.2008, i.e. Fiscal Year :2008
Now I want to post Depreciation for the period  19.09.2007 to 31.03.2009 (560 Days) on 31.03.2009.
When I am running AFAB  (Repeat Run) Fiscal year: 2008 & Period: 12  with this Specific Asset No, then system is calculating Depreciation only for 1 day, i.e. 31.03.2009
As the Fiscal year:2007 has been closed for Asset module, hence I have opened Fiscal year: 2007 in AA (T.code: OAAQ)
But after opening the Fiscal year :2007 also, system is  calculating Dep only for one day.
Please suggest me how will I solve this issue
Thanks & Regards,

  • ABST2 - How to take the report for the previous fiscal year

    Hi,
For FI-AA reconciliation, my scenario is this: The current fiscal year is 2009 and the system (server) date is 16-Apr-2009. My fiscal year period is: Mar-Apr. In ABST2, it does not accept Fiscal year. When I take the report, it displays for fiscal year 2009, which I don't want because I want it for the fiscal year 2008 to reconcile between FI and AA. The fiscal year 2008 is not yet closed in both FI and AA, so I want the report for 2008 only. But ABST2 always gives the report for the current fiscl year. Is there any way out to get the report for 2008?.
    Thanks,
    Kannan S

This report is based on the actual values. In the past this report was used for EURO conversions to see if the values are in line. When not it was not possible to do the euro conversion.
Normal it is a part from the fiscal year closing

  • Carrying forward the parked documents of previous fiscal year

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to carry-forward the parked documents of the previous fiscal year to the new fiscal year automatically with a background job that should run at the end of each fiscal year.
This job should check all the documents that are still parked and must carry them to the next fiscal year. As per standard SAP, the document should be manually posted with posting date of the new fiscal year. Then the system will create a new Document in the new fiscal year, deleting the old document. I need to automate this process.
For posting a document we use a Customized Workflow (Z copy of FIPP).
My question is, how can I go about this requirement? What all needs to be done if I want to trigger the workflow in the background on a particular day?
    Thanks!

    Sheryl,
If you really want to "remove/cancel" the parked documents, then your solution is to delete them as Prashant previously suggested.  Transaction FBV0 allows you to post or delete a parked document.  Deleting the parked documents does not remove the entire document from the system.  It will remove any line item information, but it will leave the header information.  With the header information, you will still have record of the document numbers for audit purposes.  The status on the header will show "parked document which was deleted".  Deletion is the standard SAP solution to "remove/cancel" parked documents - the only alternative to deleting a parked document is to post it.
Park a document on your test system then delete it so you can see the results.  You will still be able to pull up the header information in FB03.
I am not aware of any standard SAP reports for listing parked documents that were deleted.  However, if you require such a report, you could create a simple SQ01 query against table BKPF.  You would want to include the Document status field (BSTAT) in the query selection criteria so you can select documents with a status of 'Z' - parked document which was deleted.

  • Previous fiscal year's  document Gap

    Hi Experts:
My customer encountered the following issue:
There is FI document Gap in the previous fiscal year. The end user entered a FI document through transaction FB05, and after saving noted down the document number. But after that, when they try to check this document, it can not be found by the system, nor does it exist in BKPF, BKPF shows that this one document number was skipped. Unfortunately, this issue was not solved timely. We doubt that this gap is caused by update error, since the customer has not done any customer enhancement in this document posting process. However, this issue happened last year so that the update log does not exist anymore.
Now the customer's auditing team is asking for evidence which can prove that this gap is caused by system. How could this be achieved?
    Thank you so much!

    Hi Yucen,
Please check the below OSS note( Knowledge base article)
1828201 - Missing document numbers for accounting documents ( This note it self SAP is given  reasons for the missing documents also mentioned concerns of auditors)

  • Posting of depreciation in the previous year 2008

    Hi All,
My client wants to capitalize some expencess in the previous year as assets, and they would like to caliculate depreciation from 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2008, finally they would like to carryforward those amounts to fiscal year 2009.  My client is following jan-dec as fianancial year.
The assets involved are product licences and will need to be set up  under asset  numbers 99009 onwards. The amounts to be capitalised in 2008 are as follows:
    XYZ               u20AC12,456.89
As a full years depreciation of 10% of the total costs was taken for 2008, the capitalisation date should be set at 01/01/2008 to allow the figures to be calculated correctly and the correct npv to be carried forward to 2009.
Please let me know how to do this activity?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Go to TCode: OAAQ,
Open Fiscal Year 2008 and post the entries capitalization entry through JV in 2008. Now run AFAB for repeat run for 12th period.
Howeve above will change the closing balance of 2008 which may be audited and approved.

Depreciation in 2012 for assets are as expected with 11 periods. Half month's depreciation posted in the month of acquisition, and the following months are calculated accurately up to period 11.
In FY 2013, June and July are in Period 1.
For FI Posting, this is true and correct.
For Depreciation Posting, only one year's depreciation is calculated but we need 1 year + 1 period (because the previous year was shortened by one period).
Is there a setting to increase the depreciation or extend the depreciation for 1 period in 2013 that was reducde in 2012?
The shortened Fiscal Year changes are not in productiveness. The assets created are new assets such as in a normal operation when shortened Fiscal Year has been in place. As such, new assets have no expired useful life yet and it is newly capitalized.
No user exits or custom development is in place.
I have checked all the following notes, either they made no changes or were not relevant:

The depreciation calculation is lacking/missing one period of depreciation eventhough depreciation is not reduced.
Please suggest any possible solution to this issue that we are facing. Thanks!

Please check SPRO transaction AFAMA for the Depreciation Keys:
    Setting:
    Depr to the day
    No reduct in short year
Period control according to fiscal years
Check which is appropriate starting with the above order as I think this will fit your logic. But this depends on whether postings have already been made in the periods you want adjusted. If so then you need to use AFAR and choose repeat run after you have changed your config settings for the periods already posted. Additionally you may have problems if you have rolled forward your Fiscal Year in Assets and you will/may need to roll it back if possible before running AFAR etc.
SAP normally calculates depreciation for straight line by taking the number of periods in a year and dividing total depreciation for that year by the periods and posting that figure for the month. If you set Depr to day then it will take into account different months day length etc.
No reduc in short year would also solve your problem but would reflect the full year depreciation in the shortened year (12 periods not 11).
Hope this helps if its not to late.

For ex: If my project starts on Nov 2004 , then i want to calculate for the year Nov 2004 to Mar 2008.
I tried for variable Cumulate to last fiscal yeard

    Hi,
Here I'm giving the code to get Months based on System date, so you change this code to as per your requirement. And if any use input variable is there then you need to use ....
LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range WHERE vnam = 'ZVARAIBLE'.
    ENDLOOP.
Note: So by using this variables you need to restrict your Keyfigures with offset values.

  • Previous fiscal year data

My customer wants to set up previous years data in such a way that he could look up last years sales and purchase data as well. But it may not be transactional numbers, it just can be total sales and purchase posted against each BP.
In such a scenario , waht is the best route to take ?
    Please advise accordingly.

My customer wants to migrate his previous year AR , AP Numbers into FY 2009. So in terms of entering data for the previous fiscal he only wants to enter Sales and Purchase transactions per BP.
Will he be required to enter all tranasctions (cant import.. all manual system at present) and close the fiscal year in SBO and move on to 2009 ?
Or, can be utilise the BP Opening Balances to show such AR/AP numbers bought forward to 2009.
Please suggest the possible ways to achieve this ?

In my BEx Query Variable (Fiscal Year), how to create the variable so that it will default previous Fiscal Year, and yet user can still change it.
    Please help, thanks.

    Hi,
You need to make one customer exit variable on fiscal year.
Write cmod code in I_STEP 1.So it will by default fill the variable with previous fiscal year.
If in case user want to change it,then yes they can change it as well.

  • Asset depreciation in a closed fiscal year

    Hello,
After closing fiscal year 2010 we noticed that asset "A" start depreciation date was incorrectly set to December, 15.
Now we have corrected this date to December, 1. SAP have re-calculated the depreciation so we have aditional USD 600 planned for December. (we have UDS 600 posted + USD 600 planned).
Is there anyway to force those USD 600 to be posted on the new fiscal year 2011?
Is there any other way to arrange our depreciation issue withhoul opening 2010 for posting?
    Thank you in beforehand.
    Juanma.

    Hi
I believe, OAYF is relevant for recalculating asset accum dep during Legacy data transfer.... I dont know if it would help in this case
If you have not done the FY 2010 closing, system wont allow you to close till the time all planned depreciations are posted...
Refer note 619969... You can run AFAB for Period 13 and post the dep in Period 12.... After that, do a balance carry forward
However, if you dont wanna post in 2010 any more, then dont change the Dep Start date.... Let it remain as Dec 15.... You can post Unplanned dep for Jan 2011 using ABAA - Followed by AFAB (Unplanned option)

  • How to get a Monthly Depreciation Simulation for next fiscal year?

I need a report that give me the depreciation simulation for next fiscal year, but I need it monthly wise. I run report S_ALR_87012936 with report date 31.12.2011 and evaluation period = month.
The report gives the error message AA669 Fiscal year 2011 is already closed in Financial Accounting
I read that this report doesn't work monthly wise for future years. Is there a workarround?
    Best regards!

    Hi,
I'm sorry there is only RASIMU02. Note 396974 describes, this is a missing functionality and there  is no workaround.
Reports on derived depreciation areas that do not post any values to the
general ledger are allowed with the evaluation period year. An
evaluation using month, quarter or half-year is not supported.
In general, the depreciation forecasted by monthly in report RASIMU02 are only for depreciation area which posts depreciation to GL. For non-GL posting area, we recommend you simulate the depreciation
in 'fiscal year' mode. if you simulate the depreciation
Basically RASIMU02 is NOT designed to provide period simulation for these non posting areas. This because RASIMU02 uses for periods which have been posted already the created ANLP. But ANLP´s  are not created for non-posting areas. So in these periods where   a depreciation run had been executed already, RASIMU02 will not show
    values.
    For AA 669 please see:

  • How to calulate previous fiscal year from current year and periods as input

    hi all,
i have a report where i have 2 select options as year and period.
my period can be a range  like( Ex: 1 to 6).
i like to know previous fiscal year from the following inputs.
Tel me a suitable conversion routine to calculate
depending on periods and fiscal year.
    regards
    sivaram.

    Hi
U need to check the lower period, if it's 1 the previous fyscal year will be the year before:
    IF PERIOD = '1'.
      PREV_YEAR = YEAR - 1.
    ENDIF.
U can also use the fm FI_PERIOD_DETERMINE, in this case you need a date, u can get it from lower current period:
Get the first day of the period
    BUDAT(4)   = YEAR.
    BUDAT+4(2) = PERIDO_LOW.
    BUDAT+6(2) = '01'.
Now get the last day of the previous month:
    BUDAT = BUDAT - 1.
Use this date to get its period by fm FI_PERIOD_DETERMINE

  • Depreciation Run for closed fiscal year

    Hi All,
We bought some assets on 2005 through direct purchase and these assets are in under operation, but not having the asset master record in the SAP system.
Now we have decided to bring these assets into the system as the capitalised date is 10 Nov 2005 and for this purpose, we had created the asset master record and applied the t.code: ABNAN to post the values to these assets.
<b>"My concern is about how to provide the depreciation run to these assets for the closed fiscal year from 2005 to until Nov 2007.The present closed period in the production system is 2006".</b>
I request you to all kindly give your values on the above mentioned issue.
    Thanks with regards,
    Ran

    Hi
Just give the dep start date as 10 Nov 2005 and run the dep for the current posting period the depreciation will get posted for the year 2005 and upto the current period,in the current posting period.
As the past reriods are all closed you cannot post dep in the year 2005.
You will have the whole dep for that particular asset posted in the current posting period.
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck
    Hari
