  • Immediate depreciation when no remaining life remains

    Hello,
I am trying to configure a deprecition key which depreciates the asset in the first month when there is no remainig life on the asset.
Currently i am using link and in that i added a changeover method like dep key LVA( i have 100% immdetiate depreciation in the key) but its not working.
I want the asset to completely depreciate once the useful life is over and not stop depreciating when the useful life is over
Please advice how i can achieve this
    Thanks,
    Zaid

In the deprecition key line 1 put Chnge. meth 5
    Cretae apfase 2 line with:
    base method 0017
    Decl. bal. m 001
    Prd cont       ????.
    Multlev method ????

  • Asset Legacy depreciation adjustment within useful life

Asset depreciation is being calculated on the useful life of the asset.
I am using replacement value (03) as the base value of calculating depreciation, when i am transferring legacy data of the asset, if there is a difference in the accumulated depreciation the system does not adjust it within the useful life of the asset.
If i check the indicator calculate depreciation after useful it will write off the asset completely but not in the assets useful life.
In case of new assets it is adjusting within the useful life of the asset, but not for legacy assets.
    Is the system behaving correctly?
    Regards.

Well there is depreciation after end of useful life. But i have selected to post depreciation after usfeul life. My question is that the system should adjust the depreciation within the useful life and not extend its useful life.
It is adjusting it for new assets created but not for legacy assets.

  • Asset not getting depreciated properly on life basis.

    Hi
I created one depreciation key Z011. Its on life basis.
Now i created legacy asset through AS91. Total life was 5 years and expired life as on date of upload is 3. Hence remaining useful life is 2 years.
WDV pending as on upload date is Rs.98000. Hence it should depreciate this remaining Rs.98000 over the two years.
However its depreciating Rs. 17210 only. When i checked parameters, it showed:
    Depreciation Key: Z011
    Base Value: Rs.100000
    Remaining Life: 2 years
    Dep Period: 366/366
    Amount: Rs.50000
    Reduction 32790.
    Depreciation posted: 17210.
Now i want to know what is this Reduction amount and where does it came from.
I checked multilevel in AFAMS: "Reduction of base value by an entered percentage rate" is blank and there is tick on remaining life.
Please let me from where does its picking reduction amount: Rs. 32790

Its 01... Percentage is not there since i want it to calculate automatically on basis of life.
My problem is that its calculating properly. But its calculating some reduction percentage also. Where i need to check if i have given reduction percentage?.

  • Wrong depreciation calculated for base value 04 + EA-FIN activated

    Hi,
after activating EA-FIN, depreciation for assets using base value 04 (= half of replacement value) is calculated wrong.
While AW01 for a particular asset shows depreciation values based on the FULL replacement value (like it would be base value 03) AW01_AFAR (the u201Coldu201D asset explorer) shows the correct depreciation for base value 04.
The wrong base value can also be seen using the "display depreciation calculation" button in both transactions.
There are no enhancements for base value determination active.
I didnu2019t find any SAPNET notes nor SCN entries regarding this case, any ideas?
    Best regards, Christian

For what it's worth, I did a search and didn't find anything either.
It sounds like you've already tried this, but if the base value (the actual $$ value) is different in the trace on both tcodes then you have a problem.  I would be sure to recalculate the values when you enter AW01 and AW01_AFAR to ensure that it's correct before looking at the trace.
The formula for the replacement value is:
    ( u_ganlc-kansw + u_ganlc-answl +
                   u_ganlc-kmafa + u_ganlc-mafav + u_ganlc-zusma +
                   u_ganlc-mafam + u_ganlc-mafal +
                   u_ganlc-kaufw + u_ganlc-aufwv +
                   u_ganlc-aufwp + u_ganlc-aufwl ) / 2 .
I'd look at ANLC for the asset and do the calculation yourself to confirm the value.
You've probably done all of that so I predict an OSS message in your future !

  • Asset depreciation issue after Credit memo posted to asset.

    Hi,
We bought asset on 2010 Dec with price 100,000 SGD last year. The asset, monthly depreciation = 833.33 SGD with 20 year useful life.
This month, we received an CN to minus 20,000SGD for some reason.
Hence I do credit asset with transaction type 160, post 20,000SGD to this month.
Seem like now system are getting current NBV to calculate the depreciation for remaining useful life. It is not they want.
Business assume to get positive depreciation this month to re-adjust back the 20,000SGD depreciation to this month.
How to get month depreciation value 666.66 SGD after this asset? Hope you can suggest me.

Recheck your Multi Level Method in AFAMS. You should use the base value 24.
Have to ticked "remaining useful life"
Also, check your OAYR settings? Did you select "Smoothing"

  • Depreciation in shortened fiscal year

    Hi,
For the tax depreciation area (02), I have a problem in the calculation
of depreciation and the remaining life of assets after a shortened
    fiscal year.
In the fiscal year variant we use, all fiscal years have 12 periods
except 2008 (3 periods from february 2008 to april 2008).
To have a good calculation of depreciation and remaining life,
2007+2008 should be considered as a unique fiscal year of 15 periods.
Can I, only for the shortened fiscal year, have particular rules to calculate the base value and the remaining life ?
Thanks a lot for your help.
    Zied

    Hi Markus,
Thanks for your instant reply. I have activated the key and set the OAYP settings in FI-AA
Anything else ,please let me know.

  • AA - Rounding method in ordinary depreciation

    Hello everyone!
I would like to know if the rounding method for asset value can be changed by configuration.
For example, looking on the Asset Transaction part, we have on the acquisition that it received the amount of $ 516,81 by the Transaction Type 336 (Acquirg transfer of curr-yr acquis from inv.meas.)  and at the same line the ordinary depreciation on transaction is displayed as $ 1,81. The same thing happens to the next acquisition values on the same date, the 2 last columns were calculated by me.
Date              Acquisition     TrType     OrdDep     ExactDep      Difference
    31.12.2009      $516,81     336     1,81-     2,15     0,34
    31.12.2009     $305,04     336     1,04-     1,27     0,23
    31.12.2009      $99,79     336     0,79-     0,42     -0,37
    31.12.2009      $64,63     336     0,63-     0,27     -0,36
    31.12.2009     $15.535,84     336     64,84-     64,73     -0,11
    31.12.2009      $114,14     336     0,14-     0,48     0,34
    31.12.2009     $45,91     336     0,91-     0,19     -0,72
    31.12.2009      $402,64     336     1,64-     1,68     0,04
    We have already analyzed that:
    -     The rounding method cut off the cents (where is it configured?)
    -     The use life is 20 years = 5% per year
    -     According to the exactly depreciation per month, the difference between the ordinary and exactly depreciation is lower than 1, so it means that, it catches the closest value (with the 2 decimals acquisition amount) to the exactly depr. For example, amount $ 516,81 u2013 wants to cut off the $ 0,81 u2013 so which depreciation is near to the $2,15: $ 1,81 or $ 2,81? Is the $ 1,81
    -     If you select one line and go to the depreciation calculation button, then there is the button rounding and displays a new window: value type N (ordinary depreciation), rounding basis V (value), rounding method 0 (arithmetic rounding), Internal Decimal Places 2 and rounding places 2 (where are these last 2 configured?)
At last, the user wants to stop doing the depreciation with roundings. Is it possible to change it by configuration or is it set in the program.
    Thanks, Kathia

    Hi,
As Bernhard said, this is configured in OAYO.
    If OAYO setting is
Net book value at year end - Checked
    Automatically calculated depreciation - Unchecked
    Replacement Value - Checked
    Arithmatic rounding - Opted
You will get setings as belw.
         N     V     0     2     2
I want to add one more point to this....
Checking the first three, populates value for Round.  The number 2 is determined based on currency decimals as per Global currency settings.  For eg.  If currency is USD, you get 2 when you check this whereas, 0 if the currency is JPY as the JPY currency doesn't have decimals.
    Hope this clarifes your dount.

    Madhu

  • 180 days depreciation as per IT act

    Hi,
I want to post 180 days depreciation ( Ours FSV is AP to Mar, if i acquire asset from Apr to Sep it should calculate full year depreciation and if i purchase after, it should calculate depreciation for 180 days as per IT Act, for that i've made setting in Period control, i've taken IN1 in period control, but when i create group asset and if i select the IT depreciation key, system is throwing error message, "E003 SYST: Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant", if please suggest me the possible errors behind it.
    Regards,
    Sudheer

    Hi Sudheer,
This 180 days calculation can be done for Income tax depreciation if you provide the below details in the income tax related depreciation key
    Base method: IND1
Declining Balance method: I01 to .... (whatever is available in F4 option based on rates you select)
    Period control: IN1
Multi level method: M1 to M9 as provided by standard SAP
    Class: 2 Declining balance depreciation
    Change method: No automatic changeover
Multiple shift: 2 no effect on depreciation and useful life
Scrap value: 3 cut off value is ignored
    shutdown: No
If you follow the above details in the depreciation key, then you will get that 180 days calculation. ie., from 1st april to 30th september if you capitalise any asset, your system will calculate full depreciation and from 1st october to 31st march if you capitalise any asset, you system will calculate 180 days depreciation.
Hope this helps. Assign points if useful

  • Depreciation as per IT act India problem in asset acquisition for less then 180 days.

    Dear All,
As requested by our client we need to configure depreciation as per IT act.We are using fiscal year variant K4(Oct to Sept) in our company code but as per specification from client we need to use fiscal year variant (April to March) for reporting purpose as per IT act. While posting for asset acquire for less then 180 days asset is not coming in display as per Indian Income tax report(J1IDISPBLK - Display Transaction Details at Asset Level).
We also try to use V3 (fiscal year variant as maintained for Indian IT act with period control "IT").But while putting V3(Fsv) for Depreciation area 15 (Financial Accounting (New) > Asset Accounting > Valuation > Fiscal Year > Fiscal Year Variants) got error that Fiscal year should be same as of company code.In this case we are not able to configure it.Kindly advice if anybody has configured this.

  • Urgent: Degressif  / Digressive Depreciation Method for France

    Hello,
Has anyone implemented degressif / digressive depreciation method for France?
Per my understanding, the method starts of as a declining balance method and when straight line depreciation is higher, it switches to straight line depreciation method. This part is easy, can be achieved by changeover method.
    1) However, after the switch, the asset is supposed to fully depreciate in two-years (even though that would mean shorter useful life than what is specified). This is the part where I am running into issues. I tried using a base method with explicit percentage, but SAP still continues the depreciation over remaining useful life - which is more than 2 years.
    2) Secondly, the switch is supposed to occur at the beginning of a fiscal year, so changeover will happen beginning of the subsequent year and will get completed in two years.
Can anyone share their experiences in implementing this in SAP? Also, if anyone has link to the French Deggressif Depreciation in English, please share.

  • Depreciation Formula

    Hi all
I have a asset with cost : 300 and time of depreciation : 3 years
Now i want set up the following depreciation schedule:
    1st Year of life: 60%
    2nd Year of Life: 30%
    3rd Year of Life: 10%.
How can i do it,please support me
    Thanks

    Hi.
Probably there are other solutions but let me give my 2 cents:
Create a Depreciation Method with Method Type = Table, Calculation Basis = Cost, Life Years = 3 and Prorate Periods Per Year = 12.
    Then enter the rates:
    Year 1, Period 1 = .6
    Year 2, Period 1 = .3
    Year 3, Period 1 = .1
    Year 4, Period 1 = 0
    Year 1, Period 2 = .6
    ....and so on....

  • Depriciation key and useful life periods in asset master should in display mode only

    Hi all
At the time of creation asset master AS01 we are given the Asset class, company code and similar of asset (1) then we click enter button we will get Create asset: master data screen here in general tab we enter the description and in time dependent tab we enter cost center manually
    But
When we click on Depreciation tab here the  Depreciation key and use life fields are automatically come with Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15) (Because we maintained in OAYZ)
Here user have a chance to change the Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15).so my requirement is these two fields are display with only display mode .
User don’t have chance to modify this.

    Hi Anil,
The screen layout for Asset and its depreciation tab are different. You have to make these fields as Display only in the screen layout. This can be done using T-Code AO21. Below are the screenshots for the path and screen layout for your reference. This should solve your issue

  • Depreciation Planned Values for an Asset

    Hi,
Can anybody suggest how can I bring the total planned depreciation values (month wise).
I would like to know the structure, table or function module.
We have tried with function module ANEP_AFARECHNEN but notfetching the results.
I know ANLC table shows the values but only for the years that are roll-forwarded by the system.
But, I want the planned depreciation values for complete life of the asset.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Please check RA_AFABUCHEN
Please refer link:[http://www.se80.co.uk/sapfms/r/ra_a/ra_afabuchen.htm] for mapping the interface.
The parameter i_afbper identifies the period

  • Is it possible to stop depreciation for a certain period?

    Hi all,
I am wondering if it is possible, and how it is done if yes, to stop the depreciation. For example in the 2nd year of an asset the user wants no depreciation on that asset for 5 months, after which the asset starts depreciating again. Also life is prolonged for this 5 months.
    Thanks for ideas!
    D.

    Hi,
You can Use Shutdown check box and give the shutdown interval in the Time dependent data tab of Asset master.
