Dequeuing from OAQ using ODI

Hi,
We are using ODI 11G, where we have a requirement to capture parameters from HTTP URL. Once we write the parameters into a OAQ (Using Java), how do we De-Queue the message in ODI as a payload type and use them as variable without loading into a table?

AQ: Adavnced queue
how do you create amodel based on Queue wethere it is Aq/JMS queue.since it shows onlt queue table structure and doesnt show message structure.

3 - Loading - SrcSet0 - Begin Essbase Data Extract.
I then fail at:

Executing batch files from websevice using ODI OS Command

Hi,
Is it possible to execute the batch files using odi os command from webservices.
We have developed a webservice, which passess some parameters to one batch file and after that we executing the same batch file in package using odi os command. In opeartor is showing as running, it never ends.
But if we run the same package from designer, it is executing successfully. Also the same web service is working fine for executing non batch scenarios.
what could be the problem??
We got one possible reason for failure...
For executing the batch from web services, we need read and executable permissions on the drive where batch sits.
We are logging into ODI using SUPERVISOR. How to give the permissions to SUPERVISOR as we are having windows authentication.

As a work around, can we use ODIOSCommand instead of OS Command. But it is asking for starting event? Whether both the commands does the same functionality??

The Runtime class allows interaction between a program and its environment. The first string command instructs the command line interpretor, cmd to open up the calculator application.
The exec() methods do not use a shell; any arguments must have the full pathname to the shell as well as the command itself.

Extracting Outline from Planning using ODI

Hi John,
I would like to extract the outline from my Planning application using ODI.
When i did the extraction from the essbase, most of the properties of the members are differing wrt the Planning properties.
Is there any way to extract the outline directly from Planning.

The properties have a different name but they are the same thing, you just need to transform the name into the planning equivalent.
There is currently no adaptor to extract,usually a utility it can be done by the outline loader in version 11.1.2.1

Dequeuing from AQ Using Java

I want to dequeue messages from a queue and process them using a Java program. I understand that the asynchronous notification facility is not available for Java. Is there another way I can receive the messages and process them without having to continually pool the queue?

Can someone tell me please how to Extract Data from (Financial Reporting in) Hyperion Planning & Budgeting into Excel Using ODI?
Would the steps be the same as Creating an ODI Project and Interface: Exporting a Flat File to a Flat File? If not, why?

Where do you think the financial reports get their data from? Financial Reports pull data from data sources such as Essbase, HFM.

Using ODI to pull data from IBM DB2

Has anybody used IBM DB2 as a data source for essbase using ODI ? If so, do you have any tips, pointers specific to this DB2 specific situation, or better yet reading resources aside from the DBAG ?

Once you have extracted the source db2 data then you would just use the IKM SQL to essbase data with a load rule to load data into essbase, I have covered loading data to essbase in my blogs.

SOS!!!!----Error for Loading data from Oracle 11g to Essbase using ODI

I want to load data from oracle database to essbase using ODI.
I configure successfully the physical and logical Hyperion essbase on Topology Manager, and got the ESSBASE structure of BASIC app DEMO.
The problem is.
1. When I try view data right click on the essbase table,

Hi ethan.....
U always need a driver to be present inside ur <ODI installation directory>\drivers folder.....for both the target and the source......Because ojdbc14.jar is the driver for oracle already present inside the drivers folder ....we don't have to do anything for it.....But for Essbase ...you need a driver......If u haven't already done this.....try this.....

You can use the SQL to Oracle LKM to move data from MySQL to Oracle. Its not rocket science to unload from MySQL to file, then use external table on the file as the staging, see the post below which has an ODI LKM to go MySQL to file (its possible to build a MySQL to Oracle data movement LKM which unloads, transfers and creates the external table with not much more work);

Building Drill through reports from aso cube using odi in webanalysis11.1.3

I need some urgent help as i have a important requirement for an essbase aso cube .I was trying to establish a database connection to build a drill through report in webanalysis from oracle datawarehouse.the integration tool which we are using to get data from oracle datawarehouse to hyperion is odi.My question are
1) Can drill through reports be built using odi like eis from an aso cube?if yes whats the procedure?
2) is there any alternate ways to bring transaction level or relational data for reporting in webanalysis?

We tried optimizing the drill through SQL query but actually when we run the directly in TOAD it takes *23 secs* but when we do drill through on the same intersection
it took more than 25 mins. Following is our query structure :

In ODI I tried the Physical Architecture XML and defined a new Data Store and selected JDBC driver com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.SnpsXmlDriver and in the JDBC URL

I tried testing the connections I get a "Connection Failed" however, if i put the url in a browser it displays the content.
I am going about correctly or is there a correct way to it?

Invoking ODI scenario from BPEL using Asynchronous callbacks

It has been given in many sites that for invoking an odi scenario, odi-public-ws.aar must be uploaded to AXIS2 framework as the web service uses AXIS2 as the web service container. For doing this first the AXIS2 should be deployed in OC4J.
I am working with a scenario like this. I didnt deploy AXIS2 and neither uploaded the odi-public-ws.aar. Still i am getting the result as success. BPEL is invoking the ODI scenario and callback is happening too.
I, also tried invoking ODI scenario in a remote system. Got the result for that too. I am using ODI 10.1.3.4 and J-Dev 10.1.3.3 and SOA suite 10.1.3.1.
Can anyone suggest how without AXIS2 framework the process is success?

Thanks its working now. I am facing another issue. I do not use parameters in my Scenario. Now when i run my scenario i m getting the following error. I think its because i have not assigned anything to the Variable element. I guess its taking null value for Variable element here and cheking if such a variable exists. Have you come accross such an issue? If so, please sugest remedy.

GL Data load using ODI to Essbase

Hi, I am trying to load GL actual data to essbase application using ODI. Source file is having 10 columns and the Target is having 11 columns. We are using rules file to load data into essbase. Rules file will split 9th column as two columns and will load the data into Essbase. When we test the rules file in essbase data is getting load into application. when we use the same rule file in ODI interface data is not getting load and giving error as "Unknown member" for the member which we are spliting in 9th column. Source file: HSP_RATES ACCOUNT PERIOD YEAR SCENARIO VERSION CURRENCY ENTITY SFUND PROGRAM DATA HSP_InputValue 611101 Jul FY13 ACTUAL Final Local 0000 SBNR AC0001PS0001 25000 AC0001PS0001 is the concatenated string from GL. we will split this as two columns using rules file to load into essbase application. Please suggest what might be the reason for the error. How to do the mapping between source and target. I have mapping one column(AC0001PS0001) to two dimensions (Program, Activity) in Essbase. In ODI, what you have to do is to split it in the ODI itself. While you are mapping, you can use SQL functions to map it to two different columns. Similar to the way you are doing it in Rule file.
