  • J2EE remove instance from cluste

    Hello to all,
in configtool three instances are shown below node "cluster-data", but only two instances are installed. one of them is an old instance. Where could I delete them?
Is there a blog for clustering J2EE instances?
    Regards, Christian

i dont think the instace is old
you need to restart the j2ee engine to activate this server node
if you dont want the server node you can remove the server from configtool it self
on top you have option server->remove server
first select the server node which you want to remove and select the option remove server

  • How to remove a member from cluster while CQ (cq5.5) instances are running?

    Hello,
    I have a query:
how to remove a member from cluster while CQ instances are running? And is there any particular log to check that it got removed?
    Thanks in advance..

I might be wrong. AFAIK you do not have the option to remove without shutting down and modfying cluster.properties.
However this usecase would be minimal because before going into production you would have verified your architecture.

DATABASEInstance and Database are different things, be careful before using this statement after 10g :)
    [from-documentation]
An Oracle server consists of an Oracle database and an Oracle instance.
The database consists of physical files such as:
The control file where the database configuration is stored
The redo log files, which have information required for database recovery
The data files where all data is stored
The parameter file, which contains the parameters that control the size and properties of an instance
The password file, which contains the superuser (SYSOPER and SYSDBA) passwords
The instance consists of memory structures such as System Global Area (SGA) and Program Global Area (PGA) and background processes that perform tasks within the database as well as the server processes that are initiated for each user session.
The size and structure of an Oracle database and instance impact performance. The physical structure of the database impacts the I/O to hard disks. It is therefore important to both size and place the physical files in such a way that I/O across disks is distributed evenly and waits are minimized. The size of the various memory areas of the instance directly impacts the speed of SQL processing.

  • How to remove a Java instance from the config tools

    Hi,
I would like to remove a java instance from the config tool since that server does not exist anymore.  Is there a way?
    Please le me know.
    Thanks
    Jean

    Jean,
I think you can do this if you remove the entries of your Instance from instance.properties file located under the below path.Take a backup of the file first then do the changes and Restart the server once done.
    /usr/sap/SID/JCInstanceno/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties
    Hope this helps.

  • How to move an instance from one activity to another

    Hi all,
Is it possible to move an instance from one activity to another using an external process? Is it possible to do this with PAPI and pass parameters to the instance in order to determine the instance's flow?

Yes it is possible using PAPI. I have just used PAPI to create instances . I have not tried the requirement which you want. But as per my knowledge it can be done.

  • Is there a way to access ABAP OO instances from a batch job report

    Hello,
I am looking for a way to access ABAP OO instances from a batch job report. My circumstances are the following:
I have got some ABAP OO coding that identifies other objects (class instances) that have to be processed (they have a DoIt method that does some calculation). As this processing is time consuming and performace relevant I have to parallelize this in batch jobs. This batch jobs however can only be "simple" ABAP reports according to SM36. The problem is now that I dont really know how to tell the batch job report what objects to process. Somehow I have to access theses instances from  that batch job report.
    Does anybody have an idea?
    Greetings
    Matthias

    Hi David,
thanks a lot for your help. After a lot of searching on the net this seems to be the only way to cope with it. However I am not sure about the locking mechanisms and if its suitable for mass data processing. In the help page you suggested the following is stated which I do not fully understand::
"The current lock logic does not enable you to set specific locks for the following requirements:
    ·        Many parallel read and write accesses
    ·        Frequent write accesses
    ·        Division into changeable and non-changeable areas
Although the lock logic makes the first two points technically possible, they are not practical because most accesses would be rejected."
    Does this mean
    a) if I dont want to set "specific locks" for frequent write accessess I am fine
    or
    b) I am discouraged from use shared memory technics for frequent write accessess?
In the latter case I will have a problem...
    What do you think?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
Change your WSDL file you will have a tag
    <wsp:Policy ... />
add to that tag the following lines
    <wsp:Policy ... >
    <sapcomhnd:enableCommit xmlns:sapcomhnd="http://www.sap.com/NW05/soap/features/commit/">false</sapcomhnd:enableCommit>
    <sapblock:enableBlocking xmlns:sapblock="http://www.sap.com/NW05/soap/features/blocking/">true</sapblock:enableBlocking>
    <saptrhnw05:required xmlns:saptrhnw05="http://www.sap.com/NW05/soap/features/transaction/">no</saptrhnw05:required>
    <saprmnw05:enableWSRM xmlns:saprmnw05="http://www.sap.com/NW05/soap/features/wsrm/">false</saprmnw05:enableWSRM>

  • Initiating BPM Process Instances from External Web Service Call

I'm attempting to update the HelloWorld example so that I can create an instance of the process from an External Web Services Call rather than via the Workspace. Our current SOA Architecture is configured so that all BPM instances are managed through a .NET SmartClient via the Service Bus and the use of PAPI W/S and so I'm wishing to recreate this capability in the new BPM.
I understand the replacement for PAPI W/S is Human Workflow so I've therefore updated and republished the HelloWorld Example with an Exposed 'TaskService' Service for the Human Task within the BPM Process.
I've then attempted to reference the TaskService through our existing BPM, and have been able to import a number of generic WSDL's as follows:
    Task Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?WSDL
    Task Metadata Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskMetadataService/TaskMetadataServicePort?WSDL
    Task Query Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService?WSDL
When I examine the available operations for these generic services, there are quite a lot, each of which have a fairly complex schema. I believe I should be using the TaskService: InitiateTask Operation to create an instance of my BPM Process but my questions are:
    - Is the above the correct method of interacting with BPM Instances from an external system such as the Service Bus?
    - Does anyone have any examples of a basic XML payload that would initiate a process instance?

I created an process with a message start event and can call it from an external web service call. I can also pass input arguments and map those to process data objects. However I can not find how to return data as response to the external web service call as e.g. the process instance id.
    Is it possible to this?
    Gr,
    Gert Jan Kersten
