    i think normally u will get data from databsae as objects.they are like java beans having getter and setter methods.so you create a collection of those objects like collect all the objects coming from database into an arraylist or....
    suppose you want to populate the dropdown box with say "username" from database object s, your code will look like that
    <html:select property="name">
    <html:options collection="databaseList" property="username" />
    </html:select>
    "databaseList" is collection(say.. ArrayList) of objects you are getting from database.this dropdown will contain all the "usernames" you are getting from database.

  • Logical Database (PNPCE) , selection screen hide.

    Hi Gurus,
             i have couple of questions related to logical database pnpce.
    1.Since i know logical database has there own selection screen , my requirement is i want to add my custom fields to the selection screen other than what is provided is it possible or not.
    2. i want to hide the selection screen of the logical database, but i do want to create my own in which i will be declaring some select options of the standard logical database screen has, like pernr, organisation unit, etc, how do i communicate the entered data with the logical database if i dont use the logical database standard selection screen, hope i could able to explain my problem, please see into my problem and let me know thanks in advance,
    hussaini

    Hussain,
    LDB have standard selection screens, if at all you want to customize those standard selection screen you would have to define a report category for your program. You`ll have to configure in the spro settings for your corresponding report category.
    If you would like to declare your own selection criteria, you can very well do it and these criteria are visible below the standard selection criteria. You can process these elements in your program and not in the LDB standard program. Use the normal selection screen events in your program for processing your selection criteria.
    Hope this info is helpful, reward points if convinced.

  • RE: Images from Database into W

    I've found that a good way to store images was not in the database, but
    in files on the server in GIF format and then store the filenames in the
    database. That way you avoid the BinaryData mess, the cursor
    requirement for blobs, and can store in a compressed form..
    You just have the service read in the image from the data file and pass
    it back to the requestor, if I remember right.. Also nice because the
    same GIF files can be used in normal HTML web pages..

    Reply: Images from Database into Web SDK 1.1 page
    Hi,
    I want to be able to read images in from a database and have Forte
    generate a web page with those images.
    Does anyone know what the MIME type would be for a Forte ImageData
    object? Do I have to store the images into the database in gif format
    or is there some other MIME format that Forte uses to store ImageData
    objects. Also, can Netscape or Internet Explorer read those images?
    Here is the ReturnImage page builder method I created:
    =============================================================
    Response : HTTPResponse = new();
    LUIObject_ID : Integer;
    LUIObject_TD : TextData = new();
    aLUIObject : LUIObject;
    aBinaryData : BinaryData = new();
    aStream : MemoryStream = new();
    // Retrieve LUIObject_ID from http parameters
    LUIObject_TD = pRequest.FindNameValue('LUIObject_ID');
    LUIObject_ID = LUIObject_TD.IntegerValue;
    // Retrieve aLUIObject for the specified LUIObject_ID from the
    database.
    // This object contains various ImageData attributes which contain the
    // icons to display on the web page.
    aLUIObject = SODIInfraSOMgrSO.SelectLUIObject(LUIObject_ID);
    aBinaryData.SetAllocatedSize(aLUIObject.ClosedLargeIconSize);
    aStream.Open(accessMode = SP_AM_READ_WRITE, isBinary = TRUE);
    aStream.WriteSerialized(object=aLUIObject.ClosedLargeIcon);
    aStream.Seek(0);
    aStream.ReadBinary(target = aBinaryData);
    // Not sure what MIME type to specify here for ImageData objects
    // read in from a database. Any ideas??????????
    Response.AssignBinaryResponse(aBinaryData, 'image/x-bitmap');
    return Response;

    Hello Denis Segard,
    I also try the same method and I use OLE container to store the images into database in Oracle forms 6i.
    But, if i try to retrieve the images in report i got that error.
    Anyway i store the images into the database but why i shouldn't retrieve it in reports and i can retrieve the images in forms
    Is there any problem in my design.
    Is there any other easy way to store the images into database in oracle forms 6i...

  • How to get full row from F4 pop up window into selection-screen fields

    HI ,
    I had a selection screen having 3 fields (vbeln, posnr, ebeln )
    If i press F4 on field 1 i will get a pop up having all values.
    If i click on any one row in that popup, only the first field is getting filled with the value. But i want all the other fields to be filled with the corresponding values in the screen simultaneously.
    Please let me know is there any solution for this...
    Regards,
    Kanth....

    Hi
    U should base your selection-screen on a dictionary structure whith those three fields where you assign your search help exporting all values (VBELN, POSNR and EBELN).
    In this way you'll obtain what you need automatically
    Else you can manage it in POV event by your selef.

  • FBL5N - Logical databases - Dyanamic selection screen fields

    I am trying to insert "Profit center" from BSEG table of Logical database DDF into the dynamic selection screen of FBL5N.
    Procedure I followed:
    Program -> Attributes -> Logical database -> Extras -> Selection views.
    Interestingly when I add "Profit center" from BSID table instead of BSEG, it appears on dynamic selection screen. But this is not working for BSEG. I have no clue why this is so? If someone can help me in this regard, that would be great.
    P.S: I can not insert Profit center from BSID table as BSEG contains profit center values and BSID is not storing the same info.

    Rob,
    Below is the BSEG contents:
    Company code Document Number Customer     Profit Center
    1000         1800001111      0000100006
    1000         1800001111                   0000000401
    BSID contents:
    Company code Customer     Document Number Profit Center
    1000         0000100006   1800001111
    As BSID stores customer info, I believe only line item that has customer info is stored here.
    I guess, that is the reason.
    I will try the option told by prev post. Will keep you guys posted.
    Thanks,
    Phani

  • From Database into JTable

    Hi!
    I have a ResultSet from a database query (select * from table) and I plan to turn it into a Object[][] in order to satisfy one of the DefaultTableModel's constructor ("DefaultTableModel(Object[][] data, Object[] columnNames)") and place it in a JTable - how do I go about in doing this.

    e.printStackTrace();
    return mySets;
    But got this error when I compiled:
    cannot find symbol

    location: class javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel

    1 error

    I'm trying to do this because I would want to have my JTable to have a checkbox in it like what's shown in the Java tutorial's SimpleTableDemo.java.
    Basically, am getting data directly from the database - those that are set to 1 is enabled and 0 to disabled, then represent those as check boxes in the JTable.
    Thank you so much for your help!

    Thanks calvino_ind!
    I've managed to get your suggestion to work:
                while(rs.next()){
                    for(int i = 0; i < row; i++){
                        for(int j = 0; j < col; j++){
                            obj[i][j] = rs.getObject(j+1);
                        rs.next();
                }Issues:
    I had to define the number of rows in order to initialize the Object's size:
                Object[][] obj = new Object[number of rows][number of columns];*column size can be retrieved from what's shown in previous post.
    To get the number of rows I had to do this:
                while(rs.next()){ row++; }But in doing so, the cursor moves to the last row of the ResultSet. To move it back I had to execute this:
                rs.beforeFirst();Here's the whole section of the code that's been my concern:
        private Object[][] getData(ResultSet rs){
            Object[][] obj = null;
            int row = 0;
            int col = 0;
            ResultSetMetaData rsmd;
            try{
                rsmd = rs.getMetaData();
                while(rs.next()){ row++; }
                System.out.println(rs.getFetchSize());
                col = rsmd.getColumnCount();
                obj = new Object[row][col];
                rs.beforeFirst();
                while(rs.next()){
                    for(int i = 0; i < row; i++){
                        for(int j = 0; j < col; j++){
                            obj[i][j] = rs.getObject(j+1);
                        rs.next();
            }catch(Exception e){
                e.printStackTrace();
            return obj;
        }Now I did a little bit of fiddling around the forums, and came across a discussion that's it's not advisable to get the row count (second post of this link: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=683676&messageID=3982010).
    Anyone care to shed some more light into this?
    Thanks!

  • MSS report not passing values from portal to selection screen fields

    Hello Gurus,
    We have a problem with Sickness Absences report in MSS which is a Z copy of the standard report RPTABS20.
    The problem is when the manager defines the selection criteria and selects the other period dates and under Organizational View - selects All Organizational Units and highlights one org unit and report results, then the report displays the employees which are currently not part of same org unit as selected in selection criteria. But these employees were present in this org unit in past when they took leave, which comes under the same period as given on selection screen. So in a way it seems to be right. But the requirement is to only display the employees which are currently present in this org unit.
    The report seems to be working fine in backend where we specified the same date range and org unit on selection screen.
    On our investigation in portal we came to know that the org unit field on selection screen PNPORGEH is not getting filled with org unit number selected on portal.
    On further investigation in debugging we came across the fm HRWPC_RPT_START_REPORT which calls fm HRWPC_RPT_FCODE_EXEC which in turn calls fm HR_HIS_EXECUTE and it executes the report with following code:
        SUBMIT (repos-repid)  AND RETURN
               USING SELECTION-SET repos-varit
               WITH pnpindex IN objid_ranges
               WITH pnptimed eq ' '
               WITH pnpbegps eq act_begda
               WITH pnpendps eq act_endda
               WITH pnpbegda eq act_begda
               WITH pnpendda eq act_endda
               WITH p_super  eq space.
    Looks like the standard code is not passing the org unit to the selection screen of the report.
    Request you to kindly guide if this is a SAP standard problem or the report is not configured properly ?

    Please check steps as mentioned here

    When the report is launched from
    the portal, the program is reading the table:T77eo for the object
    type-'O' , since there are no entries for the object 'O' in the table,
    the switch INREL is not set, therefore the structure pchobjid is not
    filled while calling the report as shown below. Now I know the
    rootcause, but I don;t know the reason behind the table: T77EO not
    having entries for object "O".

    Hi.,
    did you assigned user command to push button..!!
    put a break point at  IF sscrfields-ucomm = 'FETCH'. and check whether at selection screen event is triggered or not. and check the ucomm value .

  • Retrieving data from database into tabular layout item

    Hi..
    If the number of product_id is 1; I can retrieve data from the database into tabular layout item.However, if the number of product_id is more than 1 error message is shown.
    Here is my code:
    select product_id
    into : PRODUCTS. ID --Tabular layout item
    from products
    where customer_id=5;
    Any suggestions????

    It's simpler to do so:
    insert that code in a post-query trigger at block level (block where is multi-item)
    You will see after execute-query, your item will be populated.

  • Loading key and/or description from BW into BPC

    Dear all,
    We have the requirement to load master data from BW into BPC 10 NW (SP4) and are facing some difficulties.
    Depending on the property, we want to do the following:
    - Load the attribute key into BPC property
    - Load the attribute description into BPC property
    - Load both concatenated using an underscore into BPC property
    The loading process as such works and the concatenation would aswell, but so far I'm only able to load the keys into BPC. In the BW table I can see that the attribute has both a key and a description but I don't know how to select the description in BPC (either through transformation file, set selection, ...). Is there a standard functionality to select between a key and a description in BPC 10 or do I have to ask the BW-team to make an additional attribute with the description as a key?
    Same goes for loading the member ID's and member descriptions for a specific dimension. There we want to fill the member ID in BPC with the BW description and use another BW description to fill the member description in BPC.
    Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
    I have the same problem and I don't know how to solve it.
    While loading master data into BPC InfoObjects (or as called in BPC jargon "Dimensions") I found out, that it is possible to load the Attribute ID's relatetd to the InfoObject, while it is not possible to load the corresponding descriptions.
    Actually I cant help you with my post. But atrouble shared is a trouble halfed
    I would be pleased if somebody could offer any solution to this problem
    Kind Regards,
    George
