Designer 8.2.1 - dynamic form - add button -

Cannot get dynamic form to add additional lines as needed.
Created simple dynamic form with "Add Item Button" designed to add an item line. Item line only has one text field. Used the "instanceManager.addInstance(1);" javascript line for the button.
Form Properties have the following items:

It simply doesn't work. When I click the Button, it does not add an additional line.
There was some trouble with the initial installation of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, requiring assistance from technical support. I don't know if I am having continuing installation/operations problems or if it is programmer error.
I have been told by Adobe Technical Support that they "don't"/"won't" support javascript issues, so I am left on my own to determine the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I should also mention that I can call up the sample forms provided by the program and those samples work, but as I try to create a form from the beginning, it does not work.

Interactive, dynamic forms -- "add item line" button

Hi there,
I try to come up with an interactive, dynamic form. Similar to the example "purchase order" found in the example folder of Adobe Designer.
When opening my document, there should be one item line. Then, with a click on a button "add a item-line", a second line in the same format comes up. With a Delete-button in front of each added line, the user can delete them.
How do I do that? The book I am currently reading explains all great things (how add sound to actions etc.) but this feature I do not find.
From the above mentioned example I understand I have to group items (header line; single item line).
But what is the actual command to replicate that item line ? I did not find any info about that.
I am trying for hours now,,,,,,,,

Hi,
I am having a similar problem ... I have created a dynamic form and utilize the very same button function to create a new line from the target subform. Problem is that the button when clicked in view pdf does not create the new line as one would expect.
I have compared my form to the sample Purchase Order sample form ... everthing maps perfectly from my form logic to the sample with one exception. In my form when you click on the subform target and you look at the object tab: subform tab you can only select 'type' and 'flow direction' --- everything else is grayed out - in the sample these are 'live' selectable fields. Also on the binding tab for the subform object the 'repeat subform for each data item' is also grayed out.
What am I doing wrong?

Iteractive Form Add button

Hi All,
I created an interactive form by using sfp i added button to table line items in preview i can add new line item but when i download the same form using my report i can't add new item, if i click its not showing new line item i checked previous threads but it not full filled my requirement.
Please let me know if any one have the solution
I checked all properties like sub form - flowed on page break .

Add button not saved binded data

The below code call when my forms Add button clicks.

Page Number Disappesrs when click on Reset button in Dynamic Form

Dear all,
In dynamic forms I have taken Page n of m field outside the content area in master pages.I have added the reset button in body pages of the form.In the pdf When I click on Reset button the page nos are disappearing along with the other data.
I want the page no should not disappear.How can I get rid of this problem. If any body can please help me.

Firefox checks on the server if the file has been modified if you use the back button.<br />
If the page was requested by sending post data to the server then Firefox sends that post data and asks for confirmation.<br />
You can try to use the tab history of the Back button skip sites that require sending post data.
You can also try if it works if you set to never check the server by setting the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency pref to 2.

Adobe Livecycle Designer ES 2 - Adobe Dynamic XML Forms?

How can you convert a dynamic XML form design in a static PDF Form design? I tried to save a dynamic XML Form as a static PDF Form, and then tried to preview it in Designer but the layout change scripts were working which should work only for dynamic xml forms and not for the static pdf forms. Please suggest another way to do it. Thanks in advance.

You use Master Pages to set layout that you want to use on multiple pages.
Design what you want in a Master Page and then assign it to the pages you want in Object>Pagination>Place: and choose On Page> whatever you called your Master Page.

Broken Delete button in Dynamic Form. For the ADDT gurus!

I have a feeling i may be at Günter's mercy on this one. Hope you have time to look at this; of course for any and all, the same applies!
I have a dynamic list which i spent quite a lot of time with - rearranging elements within the ADDT generated KT_tng table. Just moving one recordset piece can take up to 30 seconds, so it takes QUITE a while with a lot of data to move.
Anyways, i seem to have "broken" the delete button in mine. I hope someone can help me fix it, i really dont have time to redo all the changes i did to the dynamic list layout. (i did test as i went to make sure i didnt break it, but guess i just missed a piece..) I changed mainly the location of things, and CSS.
I have an older version where the delete button works. I have compared but cannot find the answer. Both versions do everything else, live, with the database & their respective dynamic forms.
I have all 4 files live, and unprotected, for now, and txt versions of all four. If you need to test anything with the live pages, its ok, most of the data is dummy data.
Ive been saturated in ADDT dynamic lists, and dont have a background of hand coder, but am learning a lot, quick. so i have tried hard to understand this exact issue i created - im not looking for others to do my work. just my little disclaimer :)

Required Radio Button Colored Red in a Dynamic Form

Hi again
Okey, like the headline said, I've got some problems with required radio buttons right now. In static fields they have a border when they are required.
In dynamic forms they neither have, nor get any border.
I tried already:
1) to make a border with script (unfortunatelly it takes in the text too and is much smaller than the normal required border and will include the text => looks really ugly)
2) to paint a border with lines (unfortunatelly the box itself overlaps the border only for 0,02mm (couldn't fix it) and it looks damn ugly )
3) Cut the text out, write it in a textfield instead and border the complete box (Best solution right now... though a lot of work and won't look very good either)
Since I needed to change 25 of my forms to dynamic and all of them have some of those required radiobuttons in it, I would appreciate ANY solution that would look a little bit acceptable.
Anybody has any other idea how to get such a border (or anything similar) for these boxes?

Sorry to say, but I think you got me a bit wrong.
It's not the radiobuttons that got in my way, it is the way they are displayed. (A field to enter information and a text. If you refer with a colour in it and it is in a dynamic form both, the input part and the text will be highlighted.)
I wanted to accomplish the following thing:
Make some kind of radiobutton or checkboxfield where only the little input part is red highlighted (with a border or something).
But neither in radiobuttons nor in checkboxes it works, does it?
Therefor it is no use in using checkboxes I think. If I do wrap those into subforms and highlight those again, not only the input part will be highlighted but also the following text. (That's why I don't understand how subforms could be of any use )
Right now I seperated the input part from the text and just highlighted the input field. Though it still doesn't look as good as I would like it to do.
If I got you wrong plz say so I am a bit tired right now and my English gets worse ;D
I'll have a closer look at those pages you suggested me on tuesday. (I'm a bit in trouble right now)

Add Buttons to load other forms

I have an Adobe form created; however, on that form, I want to add buttons to that form. Once I click on a specific button, I want that to pull in another Adobe form that I created. Can Adobe LiveCycle do that?

No, is not possible.
You have to incorporate all sections that you need in only one form.
After that you can use a button to hide or show the correct sections.
To save time you can use the fragments.

Install a customer font - dynamic form design

Hi all,
we set the parameter gs_docparams-dynamic mit abap_true for generating the form, beause we locate some form objects dynamically. Now we need to embed our customer font other licenses (for the dynamic form design).
So, we installed the font (for dynamic design) on the ADS, but it is still the same problem, that the font is not embedded in the PDF.
Should the font be installed on the ADS and the client?
Do somebody have install instructions? ...or other ideas?

Hi,
What ever font you installed in ADS, Same font you need to install in your Desktop/Laptop where you are designing form.
Once the fonts are installed, they are visible in your form and you can include the fonts in the form.
Note: After Installing the font in ADS, you need to restart the ADS Service(Normally basis people will do this)

Designing dynamic forms

Hello, I've been given a 20 page form in pdf that needs dynamic fields added. The auto detect in Acrobat is useless and I opted to open each page in Illustrator then copy the fields to Indesign and export, but the Acrobat auto detect is still useless and inconsistent, exporting some items and not others and exporting some squares as text, some as check boxes and some as radial even though they all have the exact same formatting and size (tried making them circles). Is there a way to tag the objects so they export as they should or some software with a bit more logic than Acrobat?
At this stage there is no way that I can find to rectify the issues without manually placing the majority of fields which will take days. There must be a solid way to design dynamic forms and wondering if any gurus out there have any tips. I am operating CS3 (will have CS5 in a few days if the client can wait).

Livecycle Designer 8 - Is it possible to have button to clear fields after user has clicked submit by email button so user can reuse form to send another response with different answers?

Users will use form to fill in stats for enquiries so they want to keep form open, complete a form, click button to submit by email, then click another button to clear form, form now ready to accept form's responses. They dont' want to keep opening form each time form needs to be completed.

Thanks for your response, not sure what you mean by a loop. I put together
a draft form to show staff in our Knowledge Centre the sort of thing
Livecycle Designer can do.
(See attached file: Library Request Form_pub_0001.pdf)
They are currently writing out on form and manually putting into excel to
keep stats on the requests.
Due to current Global Financial Crisis my section does not want to spend
extra money at the moment seeking assistance from our tech heads. So we
are looking for least work no expense option for keeping stats. I am a PA
who just happens to have Livecycle program on my computer.
We use Lotus Notes so I thought the staff could save copy of Library
request form in the stationery folder. The staff using the form want to be
able to do the following:
1. open the Library request form at the beginning of the day;
2. when a request comes in, complete the form and click on Send by email
button
3. click on a Clear Data button to clear all data from all fields so the
form is open ready for when the next request comes in.
Staff are time poor and, as this is only one of their numerous duties, they
don't want to keep going to a location and opening a file which can be very
slow on some days
Each day form may be filled out by approximately 15 staff who may receive
anything from 0 - 4 requests a day.
I am not a tech head so script writing is a deep, dark mystery. Can you
help using the form above as an example for achieving step 3 above.

you can either do it individually:
on button click:

or do a loop, using child/paretns..

Adding a text box dynamically when a button is clicked in normal form

How to automatically click add button on Process child form?

During automatic provisioning of SAP CUA resource defined using access policy, how do I automatically click the "add" button to add the pre-populated role and system?
Auto-save is already checked in the process definition of provisioning process.
