Designer create new ER-Model

Hi,
I think it is really a simple question. When I create a new ER-Diagram I have to set the default container for this diagram.how can I do so?
If I try to create an application system container the name is "new application system" under global shared workarea. I cannot write a new or other name and then I cannot usethis container.
Please help me.

No, don't make your repository versioned just to solve this problem. You should be able to create new application systems in GLOBAL_SHARED_WORKAREA and give them pretty much any name you want, without turning on versioning, and if you can't, versioning is not likely to be the problem. In fact, versioning causes more problems than it solves.
So you've tried creating a new application system with the Repository Object Navigator (RON), and it won't let you name it and save it with the new name? Is that a good description of the problem?
I'm guessing that this is a brand new repository, right?
Have you checked the repository with the Repository Administration Utility (RAU) to make sure that it has been installed correctly? To do this, press the button labeled "View Objects" and search for missing or invalid objects.
Have you created a user other than the repository owner for doing your day to day work with Designer, and used RAU to grant that user authority to manage containers? Do this by pressing the Manage Users button in RAU. The user will need to have been created in the database with a "CREATE USER" command first. It is NOT a good idea to log into any tool except RAU as the owner of the repository.

Unable to Create New Data Model

Hello all,
I have been using BI publisher 11g for sometime but at best can be treated as a newbie. I was able to create New data models, reports, layouts etc till sometime ago.
Now when I try to create a New Data Model I get an error message saying
Unable to load ~weblogic/usr/temp/xxxxxxxx.xdm
I click on Ok and create my data set using the SQL query.
Now when I try to generate a sample xml I get the following error message:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: : XML-20108: (Fatal Error) Start of root element expected.
I understand something has changed in the server but I cannot pin point what and where.
Any help will be highly appreciated.....

The JDK/Java that ODI using should be 64bit if ODI 11.1.1.6 is 64 bit. (I think JDK 1.6 is recommended for this ODI version)
Also, for which technology you are creating a data server ? and what error message you are getting while creating it ?

Error in wizard to create new RFC model: connect to message server failed

Hi,
I am trying to create a new RFC model in my Web Dynpro project in NWDS. In the wizard, I reach the step where I am required to enter the SAP login information. I then enter the details in the Load Balancing tab and click Next. The error message I get is:
Connect to message server failed
Connect_PM MSHOST=****, R3NAME=*, GROUP=**
LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host ***
ERROR service '***" unknown
(Note: the *** are client-specific and therefore confidential info so I am removing them).
The thing is, a colleague of mine is also doing the same thing, but he is not encountering this error.
Can someone help me troubleshoot this?

Hi
The user you use to connect in the RFC should have the authorization to S_RFC. In the Duet installation guide look for the section about defining a system user ID in UME. This section has details about the authorization required for the user.

Error while creating a new Dimension/Model in BPC 10.0 NW

Hello Experts,
I am using BPC 10.0 NW system.
When I try to create new Dimensions or Models I get the following Error Message.
"Error in Admin module or a component used by Admin module.
Failed to create SAP NetWeaver BI InfoObject for dimension."
I am assigned to all the needed task profiles to create Dimensions and Models.
Please assist me to resolve this issue.

The error was coming because while creating the user id "SAP_ALL" Profile was not assigned. So I was not able to create Dimensions and models.
Now the issue is solved.

You need to use adaptive webservice model to change the webservice URL based on the environment i.e. Dev,Test or production which is availiable in NWDS 2004s environment.
You can refer to links mentioned in below forum.

if you you are using webservice model then you need to write the code to generate URL for end point dynamically based on the application environment.
and then you need to set EndPoint of webservice model with that URL befroe execution of the model.
e.g.

How to customize Category and Category items list while creating New Model

Hi,
what the most convenient way to customize the Category and Category items list while creating New Model?
This is standard:
Now, what we want to achieve, is to customize this menu, to:
1. Display in the Category window only f.e. two categories:
- EA Diagrams
- BPM Diagrams
2. In the EA Diagrams, we want to have f.e. four copies of City Planning diagram, each of them should have different elements available, f.e. in the first copy, only Architecture Areas shall be made available, in the second one Architecture Areas and Business Functions, in the third on f.e. only Business Functions shall be made available. Additionally, it should behave like a hierarchy ... meaning you can create the second diagram, only as child (related diagram) of the first diagram etc.
I know, excluding the particular diagrams/diagram elements can be configured using the right/profile settings, but how to:
1. Customize the standard New Model menu window
2. Create copies of City Planning Diagrams with different set-ups
3. Set the relationship between diagrams
Is such a configuration change possible?

Click on Tools => General Options=> Model Creation
Click on Properties => at right of Default category set
Note : Model template does not work as Category. We can't set. An enchancement request has been open to SAP
In the following example I defined a new default (MyNewDefault.mcc). As you can see only BPMN models are available.
To create a new category set with BPMN choice
a) Copy default.mcc in MyNewDefault.mcc file.
    Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : Select your new category
    Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : Edit properties and remove all things you does not want keep
or
b) Go to Tools=>General options=>Model Creation : Edit properties and click on Save as button and specify the file name "MyNewDefault".
    Quit the window.
    Select you new category : Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : "MyNewDefault"
    Edit properties and remove all things you does not want keep.
    Save you new category
Question #2. How to define copies/replicas of existing diagrams

Question #3. How to make sure, particular diagrams can be used (created) only on predefined "levels" and how to set the parent-child relationship, so that PD enforced it directly when creating a new diagram.
     Specify yours conditons in your extension attached to your model
     Example : When the user want create a child diagram : You can display a list of Parent Diagrams to select from.
     You can set in your extension by VBScript parent-child relationship

If I understand well your question. I suggest to take a look in
Repository=>Administration=>Objects Permission Profile
You can specify objects to show, mask, deactivate at model level.
You can specifiy your own metadata.
But I'm not sure you can mask, deactivate functions following diagram selection. It seem to specific.

SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow - creating new items in the list

Hi,
I need to create a workflow in SharePoint designer 2013. Basically the flow is like that:
There is a Request List where people submit their requests. The requests have status: Submitted and Completed.
Once the status goes to 'Completed" there should be a workflow triggered that creates an entry in another list; VoC list and populate VoC columns. Additionally there should be an email send to the requestor that the request has been processed.
I tried to do that but I failed - what do I do wrong? It keeps telling me that there is an error in workflow.

With this command it populated the Voc list. But when I tried to add additional fields, the workflow did not work. Fo example, I've got a column "Requestors Name" in Request List and I would like the same column in Voc List to be automatically
populated with the data from Requestors List. I set Field Requestors name to Value Current item:Requestors name but it did not work :-(
What do you mean by "VoC column is already created in VoC list"?
And one additional question: is it possible for the workflow to automatuically create new columns in the VoC list?

We could use workflow to populate values in column but not populate new columns, so the column should be created in list manually before workflow.
As I understand now, you need to use workflow to populate at least two columns in another list, and one is person or people type. I captured a screenshot for your reference, pp column is in person or group type in both two lists, please set return
type as Display name:

Jco.JCO$Exception when create a new adaptive model in NWDS

HI friends:
when I create a new adaptive model in NWDS, error occurs:
Warning:Creating a connection with Metamodel language <zh_CN> failed. Continuing with language <zh>
Fatal: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: Missing R3NAME=... or ASHOST=... in connect_param in RfcOpenEx
but when I used a existent model to reimport model , it has no error

Check whether you are providing the correct login credentials while importing the RFC.

Issue in creating new project or model

Hi,
I am getting error message when i am trying to create new project or model.
This is the error "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (ODIW.PK_MOD_FOLDER) violated". Please tell me how can it be resolved.

The clue is in the constraint name, you are trying to create an object and the code of that object already exists in your repos- Have you renamed any objects and skipped past a warning about changing codes on existing objects ?

Price refresh for new Shopping Cart created from a model

I'm looking for a solution for the following problem.
When i create a shopping cart from a model that has been previously created with a certain price, i'd like the system to update this price if it has been updated between model creation time and new shopping cart creation time from this model. (Whatever price it is catalog, material master price etc...)
If i check the new SC created from the model with function module BBP_PROCDOC_GETDETAIL and my SC number, i see that table E_PRIDOC is fullfilled like this

condition type 0100 is inactive (with the new correct price) and condition type 01PB (manual condition) is used with SC model price and makes that 0100 is inactive.
How to get 0100 condition type active instead of 01PB when creating Shopping cart from models ?

How to create new pre-designed CSS layouts in DW CS4?

Since I'm a relative newcomer to Dreamweaver and CSS, I normally begin my new pages with one of Dreamweaver CS4's pre-designed CSS layouts in the Blank Page HTML section - 2 column fixed left sidebar, 1 column elastic centered, 3 column fixed header and footer, etc.
Lately I'm expanding to some more elaborate layouts and I'll like to be able to create new pre-designed CSS layouts of my own to add to this list. So I have a couple of questions:
1) What types of files are these layouts? They all seem to have an accompanying style sheet in addition to having a page template. What I'm getting at is, if I were to revise one of these, how would I save my revised version so that it would show up in this list of pre-designed layouts in the future?
2) Related to the first question, where are these pre-designed CSS layouts stored within Dreamweaver's file and folder structure? I can't seem to find them anywhere.
I appreciate your input on this.

WEB application designer - Web items - How to create new

Hi!
Is there a way to create new web item in web application designer, and <b>NOT</b> a copy of existing with different parameters (Web items located under Standard tab).
It would expand possibilities of web app. designer a lot!
Another question is, how to use BSP elements in BEX WEB reports (templates). Is this possible or not?

Hi,
in principal you can write new web items but this is not supported by SAP as this is a modification.
You would inherit from a standard web item class (for example CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_VIEW) and maintain tables rsrrenderer rsrrendereratr rsrrenderert and optionally rsrrendererdep
BSP itself can not be used, unless you include a BSP Application via Iframes in your Web template.

Issues with new tables created in SQL Modeler

Hi,
whenever I create new tables in SQL Modeler, and then on the Oracle DB using the generatedDDL , strange things happen:
When synchronizing the model with the Database, some tables, even if already existing on the DB, appear as missing and the generated DDL still contains the "CREATE TABLE ..." statement
When synchronizing the Database with the model, the new tables created on the DB appear twice, once with the correct name and the 2nd time with the original name and the suffix "v1".
There seems to be no way to properly synchronize the model with the DB, apart from removing the tables from the model and re-import the definitions from the DB.
What am I doing wrong ? It seems really strange to me that no one has ever reported a bug like this!

I'm able to reproduce your problem in case tables are imported into model using more than one connections. You need to use "Sync New Objects" in compare models dialog and then there will be no need to delete and import
again tables from database. Unfortunately "Sync New Objects" functionality doesn't work in case objects are imported using more then one connections. I logged a bug for that.

How to remove 'Create new employee' option for a scenario in org modelling?

Hi Luke,
We want to remove 'create new employee' option that appears under 'actions' in details panel for a position in scenario (for org chart).
I checked in linkconfiguration folder for position, but it doesn't show this option to be disabled. I also checked detailspresentationconfiguration folder but no luck. I am assuming, it must be pretty different to achieve this for a scenario object.

Hi Prashant,
I'm not entirely sure this can be changed. It doesn't appear to be controlled through configuration or XSL. My guess is it is hard-coded.
