Issues with new tables created in SQL Modeler

Hi,
whenever I create new tables in SQL Modeler, and then on the Oracle DB using the generatedDDL , strange things happen:
When synchronizing the model with the Database, some tables, even if already existing on the DB, appear as missing and the generated DDL still contains the "CREATE TABLE ..." statement
When synchronizing the Database with the model, the new tables created on the DB appear twice, once with the correct name and the 2nd time with the original name and the suffix "v1".
There seems to be no way to properly synchronize the model with the DB, apart from removing the tables from the model and re-import the definitions from the DB.
What am I doing wrong ? It seems really strange to me that no one has ever reported a bug like this!
Thank you

I'm able to reproduce your problem in case tables are imported into model using more than one connections. You need to use "Sync New Objects" in compare models dialog and then there will be no need to delete and import
again tables from database. Unfortunately "Sync New Objects" functionality doesn't work in case objects are imported using more then one connections. I logged a bug for that.

  • Issues with Advance Table Add Row New Row not work in some scenarios.

    Hi,
Wondering if there's any issue with Advanced Tables where it does not create any rows. I don't know if anyone tried this or not. I have one OA Page with Advanced Table and a button that when clicked open a new OA Page in a POP-UP Window. The pop-up page conatins one textbox where u enter a data and this gets saved in one of the VO's transient attribute. Now on the ase page if you don't click a button to open a pop-up page you can Add New Rows in the Advanced Table by clicking Add Row Button. But as soon as you open a popup window and close it Add New Rows button doesn't work and is not creating any new rows. Basically page stops working. Both the POP-UP and the base page share the same AM but have different controllers.
POP-UP page is a custom page that I open giving the Destination URI value in the button item and target frame _blank.
I even tried creating rows programmatically for Advance Table but this too doesn't work once u open a pop-up. Also I have used pageContext.putTransactionValue in the pop-up page and am checking and removing this in the base page.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Performance issue with temporary table

    Hello oracle community,
    Oracle 11.1
I have a problem with a global temp table (IMPO.REPCUSTOMERSLUCK24). I insert about 600.000 records into the table and doing some UPDATE statements on the table and at the end a MERGE statemtent to fill another table. I think the problem is, that the optimizier dont know how many records are in the temp table (Cardinality 1), but I cannot use DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS to analyze the temp table (will lose the records if I do). Maybe I could analyze it with the "preserve on commit" option, but would like to avoid that. here is the

    hi,
dynamic sampling is read only a part of the table to make an estimatation (generally count the number of rows, or get an average (if the sample is 'large' enough' for the result to be reliable) etc.
So in you case you could evaluate the number of row like this (the explain plans show you that the estimated cost is propotional to the size of the sample read (either expressed in # of rows or block)).

  • Hello Gurus..... ISSUE with child Table update

I have an issue with child table update
I have created a GTC with one parent table and two child tables. I'm able to update the parent table and the values are found in db, but the ISSUE is the child Table values are not updating the db.
    please give me a solution
    regards
    Srikanth

If you are keeping referential integrity in the database, not in the application, it is easy to find the child and parent tables. Here is a quick and dirty query. You can join this to dba_cons_columns to find out on which columns the referential constraints are defined. This lists all child-parent table including SYS and SYSTEM users. You can run this for specific users of course.
    select cons1.owner child_owner,cons1.table_name child_table,
    cons2.owner parent_owner,cons2.table_name parent_table
    from dba_constraints cons1,dba_constraints cons2
    where cons1.constraint_type='R'
    and cons1.r_constraint_name=cons2.constraint_name;

  • SQL Query : Order By issue with HUGE Table

    Hello friends,
I have been through a terrible issue with order by. I would appreciate your help. Please let me know, your input for my case:
=> if i run select query it returns result quick in some milliseconds. (sql dev. fetches 50 rows at a time)
=> if i run select query with where condition and column (say A) in where condition is even indexed and i have order by and that order by column (say B) is also indexed.
    Now, here is the issue:
    1. if no. of rows with that where condition can filter yielding small result set then order by works fine .. 1-5 sec which is good.
2.*if no. of rows with that where condition can filter yielding Large result set, say more than 50,000 then with order by then the wait time is exponential.... i have even waited 10+ mins to get the result back for 120,000 records.*
Is order by takes that long for 100K records ... i think something else if wrong... your pointer will really be helpful... i am very new to sql and even newer for large table case.
I am using SQL Developer Version 2.1.1.64
and Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production
    Thank you so much.

Yes you are correct, but my concentration was on order by thing, so it will do full scan of table so i was putting that ... and was also wondering if millions of record in table should not be a issue...???
Any way for the explain plan , when just a value in the where changes there is the huge difference i want to point out too as below:

  • Performance issues with pipelined table functions

I am testing pipelined table functions to be able to re-use the <font face="courier">base_query</font> function. Contrary to my understanding, the <font face="courier">with_pipeline</font> procedure runs 6 time slower than the legacy <font face="courier">no_pipeline</font> procedure. Am I missing something? The <font face="courier">processor</font> function is from [url http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=429]improving performance with pipelined table functions .
Edit: The underlying query returns 500,000 rows in about 3 minutes. So there are are no performance issues with the query itself.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Like:
    - a database version
    - how did you test
    - what data do you have, how is it distributed, indexed
    and so on.
If you want to find out what's going on then use a TRACE with wait events.

    Kai,
Please take a look in the sqlnet.ora file on the client computer, you should find it in network/admin directory. In that file, do you see either of these two lines?
    sqlnet.authentication_services = (NONE)
sqlnet.authentication_services = (NTS)The above might explain why the configuration is fast on a Windows server, but slow when a Solaris server is accessed.
To Mark's point, execution plans can change between different versions - in fact Oracle Database 11.2.0.2 will perform something called adaptive cursor sharing, where an execution plan (you cannot check this using EXPLAIN PLAN from SQL*Plus) will potentially change as different bind variable values are supplied. However, if the application parses once and then holds the cursor open, the adaptive cursor sharing likely will not happen on future executions within that application - an unfortunate initial parse with unusual bind variable values might trigger a hard parse on 11.2.0.2 (thus possibly changing the execution plan), even when that SQL statement had been previously hard parsed. Randolf Geist recently posted an article related to this topic:
    http://oracle-randolf.blogspot.com/2011/01/adaptive-cursor-sharing.html
Even with the Standard Edition of Oracle Database you still have a lot of options for troubleshooting this problem. In a 10046 trace file for a session look at the amount of time spent on the SQL*Net events. Do not look at just the summary provided by TKPROF, but look at the raw trace file. Is each SQL*Net related wait for a significant amount of time? If you do see long times for many of the SQL*Net waits, then you should focus your attention to the client, the server's network configuration, and the network hardware.
On the Standard Edition you can also look at the session level time model statistics and wait events to get a better idea of what is happening in the session. For example, if you have access to a spare Windows client computer you can try a script like the one in this blog article to help you review the time model statistics and dig into the session level time model statistics and wait events for a specific session:

  • Issue with new abap webdynpro INBOX EHP5

    Hello Experts,
I'm currently working on the configuration of ESS/MSS services in EHP5. We are using different services like Appraisal OSA, Learning solution, etc. I already configured the Launchpad ESS, it's working fine but now I have an issue with the new Abap webdynpro INBOX. The employee and manager see their workitem notifications correctly in their respective inbox.(I'm calling application: IBO_WDA_INBOX that I integrated in my launchpad).
My problem is that when clicking on a workitem in order that it opens me the appraisal document (in edit or display mode), I got an error saying: "There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator."
I did some search on SAP help without any results. I'm wondering how should I register workflow tasks? I saw there is a table called IBO_C_WF_TAS (I added entries e.g:
    IBO_WDA_INBOX TS99700031   EXECUTEAPPRAISALDOCUMENT).
I tried also to register all my custom tasks in transaction SWFVISU.
    example:
    TASK: TS99700013
    Visualization Type: ABAP Webdynpro
    APPLICATION:    HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT
    DYNPARAM   :    sap-wd-configId=HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC
    NAMESPACE :    sap
SYSTEM_ALIAS: SAP_Webdynpro_XSS (I did create a system in sap portal under System Administration with as AS property /webdynpro/dispatcher )
Could you let me know what could be wrong, what I missed? Shall I create an iView, if yes which one? which properties?
I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    Hello Siddharth,
Thanks for you reply. Still the same issue. Following are the config I did till now:
In the PCD I created a new business object (SWF_WIOBN), an operation linked to the object (NAVIGATE).
I did create an iView (powl) in the custom folder, I integrated the operation within iView. I created a page that contains the iView.
In the properties of the iView I gave:
    Application Name: HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.
Launch in New Window: "Display in separate Headerless Portal Window".
    System: SAP_ECC_HumanResources
I added the required entries in tables:
    IBO_C_WF_TTAS
    IBO_C_WF_ACS
    IBO_V_WF_TAC
    IBO_V_WF_TTAC
    etc...
I saw in the code of linked feeder class: CL_IBO_INBOX_FEEDER_WI  that it's checking something called "Launch_Editor".. Is it a property that we can set somewhere?
Following are the parameters retrieved by system:
    BO_NAME       =  SWF_WIOBN
    BO_OP_NAME = NAVIGATE
    LAUNCHER_PARAMETERS ->  empty.??
    BO_RESOLVE_MODE = USER_SET_OF_ROLES
LAUNCH_EDITOR  empty where must be set?
At the end I still get the error:
There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator.
    Any advice,
    Thanks in advance

  • Insert performance issue with Partitioned Table.....

    Hi All,
I have a performance issue during with a table which is partitioned. without table being partitioned
it ran in less time but after partition it took more than double.
    1) The table was created initially without any partition and the below insert took only 27 minuts.
    Total Rec Inserted :- 2424233
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    Elapsed: 00:27:35.20
    2) Now I re-created the table with partition(range yearly - below) and the same insert took 59 minuts.
Is there anyway i can achive the better performance during insert on this partitioned table?
[ similerly, I have another table with 50 Million records and the insert took 10 hrs without partition.
with partitioning the table, it took 18 hours... ]

I'm concerned about the view in step 2 and the index join in step 3. A composite index with both columns might eliminate the index join and result in fewer read operations.
If you know which partition the data is going into beforehand you can save a little bit of processing by specifying the partition (which may not be a scalable long-term solution) in the insert - I'm not 100% sure you can do this on inserts but I know you can on selects.
The APPEND hint won't help the way you are using it - the VALUES clause in an insert makes it be ignored. Where it is effective and should help you is if you can do the insert in one query - insert into/select from. If you are using the loop to avoid filling up undo/rollback you can use a bulk collect to batch the selects and commit accordingly - but don't commit more often than you have to because more frequent commits slow transactions down.
    I don't think there is a nologging hint :)
    So, try something like
    insert /*+ hints */ into ...
    Select
         A.Ing_Acct_Nbr, currency_Symbol,
         Balance_Date,     Company_No,
         Substr(Account_No,1,8) Account_No,
         Substr(Account_No,9,1) Typ_Cd ,
         Substr(Account_No,10,1) Chk_Cd,
         Td_Balance,     Sd_Balance,
         Sysdate,     'Sisadmin'
    From Ideaal_Cons.Tb_Account_Master_Base A,
         Ideaal_Staging.Tb_Sisadmin_Balance B
    Where A.Vendor_Acct_Nbr = Substr(B.Account_No,1,8)
       And A.Vendor_Cd = b.company_no

  • Strange Printing Issue With New HP & Pages

    Hello!
I have a very strange printing issue with a new HP printer. I have written pages documents heavy in Texts which are located within tables. The documents print fine on a Cannon and Epson printer and look great but when I print the document on my new HP Laserjet Pro 400 Colour M451nw some of the text on some rows come out of the printer looking like they are bold / slightly fuzzy. This only happens with some of the rows of text, not all of them. The font is the same in every row with the same format.
You can see this in the attached image. The first line (Thanks very much) has printed correctly but the subsequent lines look bold / slightly fuzzy.
After a lot of testing the only way I can resolve this is if I copy the content into a new pages document and only then it will print and look ok with the HP printer.
This must be a problem within my origional document. I would simply copy and paste everything into a new document however this would take a very, very long time (over 5 years of work producing teaching materials and over 100 documents and thousands of tables and formatting that cannot be copied and pasted).
Also, on other printers you can see the lines seperating each row of the table. These lines are not visible on the HP print outs, even when the table is copied into a new document.
Has anyone come accross an issue like this before? Is there a way I can fix this without creating a new document? Do I need to get a new another new printer (the 4th printer this week!)?
Any advise, wise words would be greatly apprechiated!
    Thanks!

Sorry, Fruhulda. After 4 hours on the phone with Apple care they are taking this issue further themselves. It seems to be a problem with our pages document and the compatibility with certain drivers. We have still not gotton to the bottom of it and Apple are going to get back to me when they have an answer.
We also worked out that the issue only happens when you print via Ethrenet & USB. Printing via Wifi is ok and there are no quality issues.
    Very Strange!

    Hi LaxUdas,
If I understand correctly, the package is developed with Protection Level set as "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey". When you execute the package via a SQL Agent Job in a Named Instance, the account that job step using is not the user that create the
package. So it cannot be able to connect to the Oracle DB with invalid connection string.
This behavior is by design. In an Integration Services package, the following information is defined as sensitive:
The password part of a connection string.
The task-generated XML nodes that are tagged as sensitive.
Any variable that is marked as sensitive.
EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey uses a key that is based on the current user profile to encrypt only the values of sensitive properties in the package. Only the same user who uses the same profile can load the package. If a different user opens the package,
the sensitive information is replaced with blanks and the current user must provide new values for the sensitive data.
To work around this issue, please refer to the following suggestions:
Change the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword. This setting uses a password for encryption. To open the package in SSIS Designer (SSDT), the user must provide the package password.
Change the Named Instance SQL Agent Service account to the user that create the package, like your Default Instance.
Use SSIS Package configuration files to store sensitive information, and then store these configuration files in a secured folder. You can then change the ProtectionLevel property to DontSaveSensitive so that the package is not encrypted and does not try
to save secrets to the package. When you run the SSIS package, the required information is loaded from the configuration file. Make sure that the configuration files are adequately protected if they contain sensitive information.

  • Multiple issues with new installation

I have several issues with my fresh installation of arch (just got myself a free old-as laptop , thus trying out arch for the first time as I usually run gentoo), and I'm not sure where these should go. I figure that I may as well lump them all at once while I'm at it.
The laptop model is a Toshiba Dynabook TX/430DX Japanese laptop similar to a Tecra A2 afaik.
    1. If I use stock ARCH kernel, when I load up x11 it seems to be using some wrong drivers or something. Tried with and without xorg.conf. The screen is all fuzzy etc. However, I compiled my own kernel (the Zen sources), took out a whole bunch of drivers I knew I wouldn't be using (etc. SATA/IDE/extra whatnot so that it would merely take 3 hours to compile the kernel), x11 works fine. HOWEVER with the zen sources, when I close x11 I can't exit to console. I get some sort of weird artefact from what happened to be on the screen, or it just goes black. It does actually seem to be in console as I can turn off the laptop with ctrl.alt.del and the capslock etc seems to work fine. I'm thinking of recompiling the zen sources with the stock arch kernel config when I have the time just to see what happens, but I'm not too sure it'd help.
The VGA device is an: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Intergrated Graphics Device (rev 02), using the intelfb module.
    2. In most consoles I've used, if you type in part of a command then press ctrl.up/down, it autocompletes with previous commands you've run matching what you've already entered. However, in my install it brings me to the very first command in my bash history. How do I make it autocomplete previous commands?
    3. When I use wvdial (I have a mobile modem), I get odd characters as shown in the screenshot posted.
I don't think it's a unicode issue, as ncmpcpp displays properly. This displays itself both in the console and in x11 (screenshot).
    4. If I'm using the stock kernel and I stop wvdial, I get a whole bunch of kernel error trace messages. After this, anything that goes to dmesg will be displayed to whatever terminal I'm on (but not actually echoed, it gets overwritten if I change screen etc). Wvdial is also prone to crashing, sometimes taking out the whole laptop. However, while using the zen kernel I do not suffer this issue at all.
Any help in helping me find the source of these issues would be greatly appreciated. They're not showstopping issues, but extremely irritating nonetheless.
    Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I created a zen kernel based on the arch stock kernel. Unsurprisingly, I still suffer from the x11 video issue. However, I don't have issues with number 4.
