Deskjet 3055A unable to auto-reconnect to WiFi

Hi all,
My printer is on 24/7 and connected to WiFi.
I noticed that whenever my wireless router is restarted the printer cant automatically re-connect to my home WiFi.
Once i reboot printer it then connects.
Product Model Number B0N11B
Firmware Version SMP1FN1215BR
Thanks

Set a static IP on the printer outside the DHCP range of the router.   Make sure you are using WPA2-AES encryption and set the router to a fixed channel, never 'auto'.

Thinking of getting the HP Deskjet 3055A for my son for University.  They use an Ethernet connection rather than wifi and so to connect his Mac to the printer he would presumably use the USB cable instead. Does that sound right and am I right in thinking that the cable he would need is included in the box for the printer?

    Hi,
That is correct.  The printer only supports Wireless or USB and not Wired Ethernet.  The cable does come in the box.

  • HP Deskjet 3055A Unable to connect on wireless

I cannot set up my deskjt 3055A on wireless. The blue light on the printer is flashing and the printer screen states wireless on.But printer cannot see the router

There is a document with steps to install this series printer on a wireless network.  This document can be found here.
Also, if the printer cannot see the router (SSID), then it is possible the network is using hidden broadcast.  Make sure the SSID is being broadcast so that the printer can find the network.
Also, have you tried power cycling the network system?
    * Unplug router, wait 20 seconds, and plug back in
    * After router has restarted, then restart the PC
    * While PC is restarting, power cycle the printer
Let me know how it goes.

  • HP Deskjet 3055A does not connect to WIFI with security

I am trying to configure a Deskjet 3055A on my DD-WRT router.  I am a highly skilled networking engineer so I know 100% what I am doing.
Firstly, DD-WRT does not support WPS conenction, because these are highly insecure.  This means my only method of connecting the pritner to my home network is to connect it to my PC and use the installation utility (dowloaded from your drivers page)  I am using version 28.8.
My router supports both 2.4 and 5GHz and I know the printer is only 2.4GHz.  I completely disabled the 5GHz network for the purpose of connecting the printer even though it should not have any effect.
I have also rebooted my router, and reset the printers wireless network using its in-built control panel.
Anyway, after a shameful 2 hours troubleshooting, I managed to find out that the printer WILL NOT CONNECT to the WIFI network if any security is applied against it.  It works 100% fine with open security however, this is completely unnacceptable.
I have tried both WPA Personal and also WPA2 Personal, both with the same effect.
For the sake of trying, I also added the printer to my open WIFI network and tried to manually edit the WIFI setting through the printers web interface however, whenever I try and access the Wireless setup wizard, I simply get an error saying "Internal System Error" - eventually I managed to get around this other bug that has been there for years (see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Internal-System-Error-prevents-access-t...
After going through the printers web interface WIFI setup, the issue is still the same and it will not connect.
HP, we were about to order 2500 of these printers for our remote site users.  If you do not come up with a quick solution/bug fix, consider the business lost!

    Ian

After much playing I managed to find a fix for this!
For all users who are unable to find a fix using the other methods, here's what to do.
Change your local network to open security but note down your WIFI setting for your typical setup.
Connect the printer to the open network using the HP software (using a USB cable)
Go to the printer's URL, but ensure you connect using HTTPS - if you get an internal system error, keep refreshing until it works (WHAT A JOKE!!!!)
Click on "Network" on the top, then click on "Advanced" on the left.
Enter the network settings as they should be when secured.
At the bottom, tick "In an infrastructure network, use 802.11b/g behaviour(assuming your netwoek supports g, otherwise use the b only option), then click apply.
Turn your wireless security back on, on your router and then the printer should connect!
I really am baffled as to why this isn't automatically enabled, if the printer doesn't work with wireless security on a Wireless N network, then have this as the default!
HP - feel free to thank me in this post!

  • Auto-reconnecting to the last WiFi

The problem is that in the place where my bed is my network loses connection. If I'm at my desk that's closer to my router, it stays all the time. After reconnecting using `wifi-menu` all works for next minutes. How could I automatize the process of reconnecting?
I tried to run `sudo systemctl enable net-auto-wireless.service`, but it didn't help me. Any ideas?

    Hi,
"sudo systemctl enable net-auto-wireless.service" itself will for sure not solve your problems, but the first thing to notice is, that you should have done "sudo systemctl start net-auto-wireless.service" first, since that would have started the service immediatly. "systemctl enable" will only shedule the service to be startet at boot. And then of course you have to configure your wireless settings to work correctly with this service. Have you read the "Wireless Setup" section in the arch wiki? Especially part II?

  • Activation Lost : Windows 8-64bits and Deskjet 3055a

    Hello
I have a hp deskjet 3055a which, until now, was working perfectly fine, never had any problem with it.
I did the installation one year ago.
A few days ago, windows did an automatic update. My system must had change then.
Thing is, now I just can't use my printer. I can't scan.
The message on the printer is:  activation is lost. Obviously, I've lost my software CD... Hence this message.
    So far, I tried this:
    - download here the set up software for my 3055a, for windows 8, 64 bits.
(but it turns out, it's not for 3055a printers, it's impossible to find it).
    - I followed the process to do the set up for a wifi connexion and it's not working.
    - i connected the two with USb, but nothing is happening on my computer.
So how/ where can I find the real set up software for 3055a? Does it even exist?
Is my printer out of order because i lost the cd and there is no way to find the set up software for 3055a on internet?....
Again, the software for 3050 a printers is not working. I tried several times.
    Can someone please help me?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi @LuxDu ,
I understand that you need the drivers to reinstall the printer on Windows 8 64 bit. I can help you.
You could do a system restore to before the update took place on the computer.

    Hi manelolesa,
Here is some information about software for Mavericks.
I can help you put the printer on your wireless network without software. I use this method for iPads, iPhones and other devices that do not have software.
Restore the network defaults on the printer by pushing the wireless button, going to settings, and then restore defaults. The wireless button should then start flashing, this means it is now in autowireless mode.
Connect to the network that the printer is broadcasting. It is usually HP-setup-3050a and then part of the MAC address. The wireless light will still be flashing on the printer at this point, this is normal since this is not an actual adhoc connection.
Load up the Embedded Web Server (EWS) in the browser on your mobile device. The default IP for autowireless is 192.168.223.1.
Go to the network tab along the top of the EWS.
Click on Wireless Setup Wizard along the lefthand side to begin configuring the printer.
You have now completed the Wireless configuration, follow the next 3 steps to start printing.
The blue wireless light will go solid, put the Mac back on your own network.
Add the printer to the System Prefrences.
    Print
    Hope this helps.

  • E72 & VoIP Auto-Reconnect

I have successfully setup my E72 for SIP calls and it works very well for the most part.
There is one problem however that means it is very annoying to use.
The problem is that whenever I move out of a WiFi area and therefore get disconnected from the SIP server, the phone doesn't automatically reconnect to the SIP server when I get back in range of a WiFI area.
At the moment I therefore have to restart the phone every time I return to a WiFi enabled area to force the phone to reconnect the SIP server. The problem is not with WIFI - this reconnects fine when back in range automaitcally, it is just the SIP server that doesn't auto-reconnect.
Is there any way to force the phone to reconnect to SIP after disconnection without rebooting it every time please?
PS I have also tried setting SIP to work over 3G. This works fine but I then get the same problem when I leave a 3G signal area!
    Thanks

paulbula, I noticed the same problem on my e72. Yes, I can confirm e72 does not reconnect on wifi.
You also write that you have the same problem on 3G i.e. your e72 does not reconnect to sip server automatically. Well, my e72 does reconnect but the problem is that it needs too much time to reconnect which is very anoying and makes normal nokia sip calling via 3G impossible while walking, driving or when calling in bad network coverage. When I use nokia sip on my nokia n95 8GB I do not have this annoying 3G reconnect problem so this is a e72 problem which needs to be fixed by nokia!
I describe this problem more in another nokia thread - google for "e72 3x sip hangs".

  • Problem with HP Deskjet 3055A J611-n wireless connection

    Hi,
i'm a newbie in the forum. I have to fix a problem i had this morning with my new printer HP Deskjet 3055A J611-n.
First of all I'd like to know the reason why I found the 3050A J611a installer CD in the box, I hope it's not a mistake and drivers are the same I should use to install the machine.
Then, I have a problem with the wireless connection. When I tried to connect my printer to the router, my printer found the connection and suddenly it kicks out all the laptops connected to the same network. It brought to the failure of the installation, because the printer found the router but it also couldn't finish the installation properly given that the laptop was disconnected.
Can anyone help me in fixing the problem, please?
    Thank you in advance.
    This question was solved.

OK, restart the router by pulling its power plug momentarily.
Next, on the front of the printer push the Wireless button and then go to Restore Defaults.
Make sure the USB cable is NOT connected to the printer, then download and install the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

I understand that you are trying to download applications from the App Store on your iPhone but cannot unless you download them using your cellular connection. In this situation, I would suggest the troubleshooting steps outlined in the attached article. I know your issue is not the same as what is outlined in the article, but the steps within should still assist you. Please let me know if the issue continues.
