Deskjet 720C ques but doesn't print

Old reliable 720C ques info to be printed but printer does not activate and produce hard copy.  Am running SP.  Have latest driver installed. Have gone through all inventoried printer ports with no activation of printer or document production.  No other issues apparent.  Would appreciate assistance.  Thank you.

I would suggest downloading and running the HP Printing Diagnostic Utility.  I suspect the issue is with the port selected.  Are you using a standard parallel port (cable with large connector on the computer side and larger on the printer) or do you have a USB-parallel connection (small flat connector on computer side)?  In most cases LPT1:  would be the proper parallel port.

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

  • Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 loaded fine, but doesn't print.

    09.25.10
I just loaded Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 and it loaded fine, but doesn't print.
When I go to print a PDF, after entering the file name, an Acrobat software setup box asks for the serial # or "continue to use product on a trial basis".
I select the continue option, click "next" the box disappears - then nothing happens. This repeats each time I try and print, even after a reboot.
Having selected Acrobat as the default printer did not change anything.  Help!  Dave

You may have to update Acrobat. I am not sure that AA9.0 works correctly with Win 7.

  • Artwork doesn't print when printing cd insert, it shows on the preview but doesn't print?

Hi, after downloading the latest version of Itunes, the artwork no longer prints on the cd insert? It shows on the preview, but doesn't print on the insert? It worked fine before and the printer is working fine, it prints color photos and artwork, no problem?

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

The problem is not with your printer but with CUPS.  I had the same problem with an upgrade that was done.  It worked before but did not work after the upgrade in CUPS.  I guess others are having problems as well as you can see in the link posted.

  • HP Office Jet 4630 Printer seems to be installed correctly but doesn't print

I have Windows Vista on my laptop and am trying to install a new HP OJ 4630 e-all-in-one wireless printer. Drivers installed completely. I can see the printer just fine on my network. I can scan from printer to laptop. But I cannot print from this laptop. A print error message will pop up saying that the software cannot see the printer. Is the printer installed?
Using the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a test page will not print, but an internal page will. There seems to be some sort of port config error. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Hi @harleywish
I wonder if the issue might be related to the print spooler rather than a port. Please try bypassing the spooler to see if you can print directly to the printer.
    1. Click on start and go to devices and printers.
    2. Right click on  the printer and click on printer properties.
    3. Choose the option "Print directly to the printer".
    4. Click apply and then ok.
If this works follow the next steps and try to print again.
Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
    Type services.msc and press Enter
Locate Print Spooler and double click on it to open the Spooler properties
Make sure startup type is set to Automatic, if it is not please click on the drop down and choose Automatic
Under Service status, please Stop the server, and then wait a moment and click Start
If bypassing the spooler does not result in a successful print, let me know.
Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.

  • Problems with CUPS. Printer is ok, but doesn't print anything...

    Hi 2 all!
So, I have a problem with my printer. Yesterday I've installed my EPSON Stylus CX3200, everything was ok, local printing, samba sharing etc. This morning I've tried to print some tabs with TUX Guitar, the job was sent but nothing was printed. From CUPS administration page on localhost:631 I've tried to print a test page, but there's only an error message:
    Unsupported format 'application/postscript'!
Reinstalling printer hasn't helped at all, the error persists. I'll be happy to listen your ideas... and sorry for my poor english.

    pacman -S ghostscript
    that should fix your problem.
p.s. restart your printer spooler after that!

  • 7310 networked, connected, but doesn't print

I have had this Officejet 7310 for a few years now, and doesn't usually give me problems.  i have it hooked up over  a wired network, and the computer recognizes the connection.  I can see the printer status through the browser window (192.168.1.5), and have reinstalled the software twice.  After reinstalling it the first time, I got it to print but the next morning it wasn't working again.
On the printer itself, when I try to get the Instant Share settings, it says "Hp Instant Share is not set up or a network is not available."  The Instant Share has been doing this for a few months, and I haven't been able to us ethe "Scan to" feature for a long time, but I can just use the HP Director on the computer na dget it to print, scan, access the memory card, whatever.  now it seems that it is not getting the signal.  I have items inthe queue, but they won't print.  Yesterday, it was giving me errors, like "Failed to connect to printer" and stuff, but i can't get it to do it now.
I tried the Diagnostic Tool , adn that didn't work, I reset the router, that didn't work.  I'm running out of ideas.
I'm running on XP, but I think it's printer issues, not computer issues.

OK, I think it IS a computer problem.  Your computer is looking for your printer by its IP address.  A new router (usually) issues completely different IP addresses, so your computer is probably having a hard time finding it.
Let's start by deleting the printer in Control Panel > Printers.  Then re-add the printer in this manner:
    1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
    2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
    3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
    8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
    9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
    10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
    11. Click "Next"
    12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"

  • IPad recognizes my hp wireless printer but doesn't print.  Why?

iPad recognizes my HP wireless printer but still nothing happens when I press print.  Why?

If your using the option at the top next to the address bar to print, that the box with the arrow, that only looks for airPrint printers. That will not work on your printer.
They do however have apps that allow you to print to your printer, you just need to get one from the app store (read the reviews before downloading the app).
I use the app "print n share" but I can't recommend that one or say its good or bad, it works for whati need it for that's all. You would need one that does what you need and works for you, that's why I say to read the reviews.

  • MP560 on a Mac OSX networked with Windows 7, recognizes network but doesn't print text

I have a Canon Pixma MP560 connected to a MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.5 which is wire-networked through a Time Warner Arris TG862 modem to a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop and a Lenovo desktop, both of which have Windows 7. The printer is USB cable connected to the MacBook, and works fine. On the Mac, at System Preferences>>Sharing, Printer Sharing is selected, the MP560 highlighted, and at Users>>"Everyone Can Print"; and at System Preferences>>Printers & Scanners, "Share this printer on the network" is selected. On the Lenovo and Dell, I installed Bonjour, and both can "see" the MP560, and at File>Print on both, the printer is recognized and activated. BUT all it does is shoot out a blank sheet of paper; the text is not printed. Evidently there is something I have not done, some box I have not checked off. I will appreciate any ideas! Thanks.

Some days after posting here, I asked this question at another Canon website, and learned that in circumstances similar to mine described here, Canon recommends that the MP560 "be connected to your Windows computer then shared to your Macintosh", rather than, as in my case, having the MP560 connected to the Mac and then shared with the Windows computers.

  • OfficeJet J6450 - Printer connects wirelessly but doesn't print post cable modem replacment

Equipment: My printer is an OfficeJet J6450. I run Windows Vista, current update.
Likely triggering event: I replaced my docsis 3.0 modem with a doscis 2.0 modem. The ISP remained the same. All other computer software and firewall remained the same.
Malfunction: After the cable modem replacement, I found that I could no longer print to my HP OfficeJet 6450. I would get an error in the printer window "Error - printing."  After restarting after the initial error appeared, I would get the error "Error - sent to printer."
    What I did:
At first I uninstalled and re-installed the HP software for the printer (complete package with exceptions of PhotoSmart and HP customer monitoring program).
Using the printer's network connection wizard, I entered the wireless router password to the printer. At first I didn't get a connection. Then I restarted both the computer and the printer. I also returned to the network default setting on the printer, and repeated the configuring the network. The connection finally succeeded.
The network self-test page and the printer's network wizard confirm the connection. The printer's digital display and the HP diagnostic utility also confirmed the connection. But the diagnostic utility can't print a test page and throws up an error - "Test print failed."
The disappointing result:  I still cannot get anything to print wirelessly.
...Thanks in advance for your suggestions to get my printer back up and running...
    This question was solved.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    Next, re-add the printer:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.  Get the IP address from a Wireless Netowork Test on the front of the printer (usually in the Network menu).
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.

  • Displays Text but doesn't Print - pls help.

I am using the full version of Acrobat 5.0. I have a pdf document which is a form that I captured using Acrobat Distiller. I added some text boxes to fill out the form and everything looks fine when I display it on screen. It also looks fine when I save it to new PDF file names and I am able to delete pages etc. The problem comes when I try to print. None of the added text boxes appear in the print outs.
I have used two different printers, downloaded updated drivers for each of the printers, changed the font of the text to a Truetype font.
I assume that there is some setting on my Acrobat that is preventing the text from printing. After an hour and a half of troubleshooting, I've come to you. Any help would be much appreciated.

If the text boxes were comments and form fields, you will have to select print the document and annotations/markups/comments in the print ueser interface.

  • Job appears in print queue but doesn't print

    Here's the setup:
HP Laserjet 1606dn connected via USB to XP computer. From this computer printer works fine. Printer is shared on the network.
On another XP machine on the network, ran Add Printer, printer was detected and installed and everything works fine.
On a Vista computer on the network, ran Add Printer. Printer was detected, everything installed apparently correctly.
When I print a test page from the Vista machine, the job appears in the print queue on the XP machine. It stays there for about 60 seconds. The status is "printing". The job then disappears and nothing prints.
Any ideas about what to try next?

Take a look at these instructions from eHow, and let me know if they fix the problem for you. (Generally, I just turn my printer off and back on, and that does the trick.)

  • D5560, feeds paper through but doesn't print!

This is my second D5560,  the first printed over the edges of the paper and was replaced by HP.
This one though, also seems to have issues..
If I try to print anything, it will feed the paper through, stop then spit it back out.. Sometimes it will then try to take another bit of paper and will have it stuck halfway into the printer unless I press cancel.
Any ideas? Is this another faulty printer or what?
I've tried it on my PC and laptop, one on windows 7 and other on Vista.
    Thanks
