1) set the environment variables for the AV Server
2) backup the AV database
3) connect as sysdba to the AV database and run :
ALTER SYSTEM SET JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES=0;
4) Run the following commands in the AV Server environment:
$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
$ ./avmetadata
5) connect as sysdba to the AV database and run:
ALTER SYSTEM SET JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES=10;

Report error: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small.
Full Details:
report error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small.
MS Access runs this query but when I try to call a 'List of Values' in APEX that is in excess of 800 the error above displays. If I use a 'Pop Up' it will work but splits the list at 500. This is annoying and slower as I would like to be able to display all 850+ items in a named list of values. How do I increase the buffer size?
Kind Regards,
SteveSteve,
Could you please post the query you're using? You're most like hitting one of two possible varchar2 limitations. If you're calling the apex_item API in your SQL query to render the select list, then you're limited to 8000 characters, this your option values and HTML code used to render this. In this case using the "XL" versions of the APIs might help, e.g. select_list_from_query_xl, because those return CLOBs. If you're already using those or if you're using the built-in display type "select list", then you could potentially hit the 32k character limit of varchar2 values in PL/SQL. In that case the best alternative is using a popup LOV instead.

Master Detail report report error: ORA-20001: Error fetching column
Hi All,
I am a newbie in apex and try to create a master detail form, where the detail is displayed as a report.
After inserting a new row in the master form i like to create the detail. It displays then ORA-01403: no data found
I also insert in the database table the details. If i want to edit then it shows the following report error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-01403: no data found
Can anyone help me, because i am struggling for a week with this problem.Your problem seems to be related to the usage of primary keys. You have to look into that and get more details.

HTTP 400 Bad Request error in master/detail report
Using APEX 3.2
I have master/detail report and thought all was working fine because the detail lines were less than 100. I increased the number of lines to 300 and then when the Save or Delete buttons are pressed, we get the HTTP 400 Bad Request error. I decreased the lines to 100 (about 32K) and everything works again.
Is there a size limitation on the detail? FYI - the header regeion is on the same page as the detail. If there is a size limitation, is there a way to increase this?
If you experts don't think the error is a result of the size, could there be another cause?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
SandieHi All,
Issue resolved:) ...that due to When calling a URL in the REST Receiver Channel, all GET variables are ignored

Master Detail Report + Tab navigation error
Hello All,
I built a master detail report and included a standard tab set. I built it with the wizard. When tabbing from the report page there is no problem. When tabbing from the associated master detail page you always get "web page not found" with this in the address bar-"http:///apex/wwv_flow.accept". I understand why you would not want to tab out from this type of page. Can anyone point me in the right direction to remove the tabs from view on this page. All my attempts want to remove the tabs at the application level. I am using the one level tab page template. Thanks ...Wayne,
If you can put your application on apex.oracle.com and tell me how I can see this problem, that might be easiest. Just need your workspace name and application ID (plus instructions).

Dynamically creating a master-detail report
Hi,
I have a situation where users enter an order number and then get a list of shipments. They then want to click on one of the shipments and get a report. I tried doing this with parameters, but users forget to hit [Enter] after the Order parameter - so the shipment paramter gets left blank and the report produces an error.
Is there a way in a RTF template so that the user could click on a shipment and that would display all the rows for that shipment? I can get all the data in one go, thats not an issue.
Ideally I want something like
Order No [67453278]
Shipments
543
657
786
The user can then click on a shipment and sees the rows for that shipment.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
PhilThanks, I have tried this but it doesn't solve the problem.
I had tried this approach before I logged this request, and it has the following issues when used. The report is called from a portal page:
1. The user gets a "flash" when the detail report is called.
2. There is no easy way to get back to the "master" report, showing the shipments. Pressing the [back] button doesn't work. The user doesn't know they are in BIP at this point - I use the hyperlink which doesn't show headers.
What is required is to see the detail report on the same page underneath the list f shipments. -
Hi everybody,
I have two Distinct Databases on two distinct servers. (Oracle Ent. Release 10.2.0.3.0 on AIX 5.3). After I install the latest patch last week, One of the APEX installation has some problems on Home>Application Builder Page. The error message is very random and
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
When i change the view (details to icons), everything goes to normal. This error message is reflected some of the pages (report region) of some of my applications randomly. When it appears in a report region, i deselect the order method of the region, the result is normal.
But the other APEX application on the other instance has no problem. It is a bug? or Should i re-install the APEX instance?
Thank you for your interest?
Gökhan ÇATALKAYANo, but we have a reproducible test case now so we're working on it. See ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value

when i create a report based on a region source query, it displays fine. However the report attributes are weird just displaying column1, column2 and so on as the column details.
When i change the report back to Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query instead of Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only), the report breaks. The error message report error:
ORA-01403: no data found is displayed.
Why is that when i know the report ran successfully with the same queryIt's a sql query i use to build the report. I dont know about session states. Here is the source. It searches data across multiple columns using a search textbox that works. The query worked well before the change.

Unity Connection 8.6.2 report error and issues
Hello,
I found some other hits on this error and tried the workarounds (restarting tomcat, and report data harvester) but am still getting "Unable to find any report data based on parameter(s)" for a certain timeframe on multiple reports when I know activity occurred in that timeframe.
User Phone login report, Outcall Billing Detail Report, others.
CUC version is 8.6.2.20000-2
Problem is during this timeframe someone dialed into system and changed the transfer extensions to various LD numbers throughout an entire day and the reports aren't showing these outcalls. Call Manager CDR data show the calls being placed from Unity VM ports and the Unity Conversation Manager traces I grabbed for the timeframe show the calls to those numbers to. I'm just trying to match up with a report and figure out if there is some other log or trace file I can look to determine for sure the caller logged in to the voicemail box and changed the transfer extension on it. (guessed the voicemaill password). The failed log in report doesn't even show the failed login attempt in output from traces below. The transfer extension dest addr was different on the transfers on this same mailbox. Have locked down the system since but want to get better grip on this with the reports and traces.
I looked over the CUC 8.6.2 SU1 and SU2 release notes and not seeing any resolved bugs for these matters either.
Here are some samples lines from Conversation Manager traces:

ThanksHello ebergquist,
As advised we could try to run a report before an upgrade was performed to verify if it will pull the information, which in the event it does we would be matching the bug, therefore access the CUC CLI and type the following command: file get install *
You will be required to have an SFTP available for the file transfer and port 22 open on the sftp client.
Once you receive the files you would need to check system-history.log, below is an example.
=======================================
Product Name - Cisco Unity Connection
Product Version - 8.5.1.12900-7
Kernel Image - 2.6.9-89.0.20.EL
=======================================
02/24/2013 13:35:02 | root: Boot 8.5.1.12900-7 Start
02/24/2013 16:03:45 | root: Install 8.5.1.12900-7 Success
Once you check the time stamp and date of the upgrade try to gather a report for a time range before the upgrade was performed, even though they might be overwritten, there still could be a possibility that it succeeds.
If this bug is not the issue then you might want to take into consideration:
1. Make sure that the service ReportDB is [STARTED] in the output of the command: utils service list.
2. If you have Digital Networking on your server make sure there is no stalled replication. Go to RTMT (Real Time Monitoring Tool)> Syslogs> Select on the dropdown your server> Doble click on Application logs> CiscoSyslog. You can then do a manual search or sort with the filter option:
Severity: Error
App ID: CuReplicator
Hit apply. Below is an example:
Date: Feb 19 08:01:15
Machine Name: LAB1111
Severity: Error
App ID: CuReplicator
Message: : 1151681: LAB1111.corpnet2.com: Feb 19 2013 08:01:11.662 UTC : UC_UCEVNT-3-EvtReplicatorStalledReceiveReplication %[ClusterID=][NodeID=LAB1111]: Detected stalled replication receiving from location LAB1111. Waiting for missing USN 2222. This situation may indicate network connectivity problems.
3.Make sure that replication is working properly in the cluster. You can check them via the following commands: showcuc cluster status and utils dbreplcation runtimestate
For the TransferEx that you state changed to ceros -> TransferEx=0x00000000=S_OK , this is just a hexadecimal value that is returned stating that the transfer that took place during the call was successful, in this case the actual transfer was to the following destination -> TransferEx destAddr='715551231234', and was during a call to ->calledID='555123' , this does not have to do with the actual change of a transfer number performed by a user.
Those traces won't be enough you will have to additionally set: ConvSub, level 3 and CDE, level 16 so that you may see output in the traces as the example posted in the previous thread.
Traces would be the path to follow in order to verify the user that changed the transfer rule, as this is as i understand the goal your pursuing.
However if it is of any help, another way to get on hold of the numbers that were updated on the Transfer Rule is to use the User Data Dump tool, this information reflects changes regardless of whether it was done via TUI (Telephone User Interface) or GUI (Graphic User Interface). For more information on the tool go to:
http://ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/UserDataDump/Help/UserDataDump.htm
Traces are extensive to be reviewed if done manually, however you can do a text search with a tool as Notepad ++ to look for keywords as "NewTransferNumber =" or "CDE,16,Transfer allowed", once you find this you check the call GUIDwhich is the reference number of the call and that exists during the entire length of the call, whether it is while a person is leaving a voicemail or the user is accessing his/her's inbox. This would speed up your search.
So as explained in the first thread you would then do another text search returning all possible matches with that callGUID.
Now if you get to the very beginning of the call you would see something like:
Line 13712: 18:58:05.156 |24720,CCIE-1-001,0C9C97BDF5F444F0B535D231C32DDCB4,Arbiter,-1,Incoming Call [callerID='2199' callerName='' calledID='6789' redirectingID='' lastRedirectingID='' reason=1=DirectlastReason=1024=Unknown] port=CCIE-1-001 portsInUse=1 ansPortsFree=1callGuid=0C9C97BDF5F444F0B535D231C32DDCB4
In this example you see my test user callerID='2199' calling the Pilot number 6789 which is the voicemail button
calledID='6789, and the what type of call is it whether Forward or Direct, when logging to voicemail you are going to see Direct which is going to match the Direct Routing Rules and send the call to the attempt sign in conversation.
The other approach is a rule out method between the Audit traces and the User Data Dump tool.
So let's say you have a baseline document that states all of the Transfer numbers for all users.
If the User Data Dump reflects a different number and the Audit logs do not show any change, starting from the time the baseline was created and the point of time where the number was changed, then you could deduce the change was done via TUI (Telephone User Interface). Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to tell who did the change in this case.
Nevertheless, remember that a user may have for example an Alternate Extension so the change might not necessarily be done from the office phone: "Alternate extensions can make calling Cisco Unity Connection from an alternate device—such as a mobile phone, a home phone, or a phone at another work site—more convenient. When you specify the phone number for an alternative extension, Connection handles all calls from that number in the same way that it handles calls from a primary extension (assuming that ANI or caller ID is passed along to Connection from the phone system). This means that Connection associates the alternate phone number with the user account, and when a call comes from that number, Connection prompts the user to enter a PIN and sign in."

Hi,
Can anyone please help with this? Our Tape Drive died and we got a new one from our Maintenance Company. Since then large backups to tape are failing. When the jobs are small they seem to go through OK but when the job is greater than around
200GB then it fails with the error below.
I tried updating the tape drive driver but Windows said that the drive wasn't functioning properly any more.
The only difference between the old faulty drive and the new drive is the firmware. We used to have A422 in the old drive. The new drive has D8D5. Can someone please help as it's driving me crazy.

WillieHi,
It sounds like another faulty drive - You can try to reproduce the problem outside of DPM using some external utilities. If you get an error before the tape fills you can use net helpmsg errorcode to see what the error was.
Download the DPMerasetape.zip file from the following link and extract to c:\temp folder.
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=b03306b628ab886f&id=B03306B628AB886F%21524&sc=documents
The utilities are not that user friendly, but here are the basics.
Always Stop DPMLA Service prior to running MCT.EXE Commands.

how to solve these errors, because of this i couldn't able to open my repository in online mode as well as cannot able to update my .rpd file in presentation services in obiee 11g..
I couldn't able to understand the error that is pointing to me....
Help me friends..........
Regards,
Harry...It's myself harry and i solved this problem, since this problem occurred for me as i tried to update my repository.rpd file for more than 5 times because of the error that it reported to me in my previous post...
How i solved this error means, i deleted all the other .rpd files(out of 5 i deleted 4) and i made some changes in my rpd file in the administration tool and after that i tried to update my rpd in EM..
Once it updated, then i gave restart to apply recent changes, after that my system components tempt to work as of 100%...
Anyway friends thanks for your views.....
Cheers
Harry...

E-Mail Summary Report and Detailed Report Automatically
Hi, I have just started a new job (1st IT job since leaving college) and I've been told that our Small Business Server 2011 used to email a Summary Report directly to a specified email address, as well as a weekly Detailed Report to the same email address,
but that has stopped sending reports now. How do i make sure that the reports are automatically generated and sent out via email to the specified address. Any help would be great.Hi,
Based on your description, I understand that there some issue occurred in Report feature in the SBS 2011.
On current situation, please refer to following steps and troubleshoot this issue. Then check if can help you.
1. Login the SBS server. Please open Windows SBS Console and select
Reports tab. In the Reports panel, select a report (Summary or Detailed), then View report properties. In Report Properties page, please select
E-Mail Options to check if had added the correct user account or e-mail address. Also please select Schedule tab, and check if had configured correctly.
2. Then manually click
Generate report option in Tasks. Please check if successfully generated the report. If not, please refer to following TechNet article and repair Monitoring and Reporting features in the SBS server. Then monitor the result.
Repair Monitoring and Reporting Features
in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard
3. If generated the report successfully, please manually click
Generate report and e-mail report option in Tasks. Then check if run successfully. Or any error message occurred?
4. If this issue still exists, please refer to following path: C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\MonitoringServiceLogs and check if there has some log files
which be related to Report (Summary or Detailed). If has, please check if can find some more clues. Meanwhile, please open Event Viewer and check if find some relevant errors. Those may hope us to go further analyze.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.
