Detailed Navigation for Worksets(ESS)

Hi SDN,
How can I enable detailed navigation for the Worksets in Employess Self Service?
Eg. ESS>Life and Work Events>Divorce(any event)
When I am in Divorce, I can see only the workset(Life and Work Events) in the detailed navigation. How can I make all the objects under this workset appear below it in detailed Navigation?
Thanks,
Vamshi

Hello again
That sounds strange... So it didnt help to set every iView as Entry Point ? Also set the Workset as Entry Point, log out and in.
I dont got any more tips :/

I am facing an issue with a services published in the portal for ESS.
In the properties of the iView, Page, Workset What should I use for that the service not is displayed in the Detailed Navigation ?

    Hi,
Use the porperty "Initial Setting for Navigation Panel" (or the like, roughly translated from german to english...). Set it to "close" or "always close". It's in the Nvaigation property category.
EDIT: I missunderstood. Siddarth's answer is correct.

    Hi All,
I am working on enabling and disabling certain services in the ESS worksets.
we are using EP 7.0, ECC 6.0 (NW2004s).
When I login as a user with ESS role, I can view the changes in the overview pages. However, the worksets are still visible in the TOP Level navigation of th poral. can anyone please explain me how to remove the workset from the Top level navigation.
    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    SM

    Hi,
Go to the ESS role via Content Admin, then double click the workset (or page or iview) and in the drop down select navigation. Then click the <i>Yes</i> radio button of the "<i>Invisible in Navigation</i>" property.

  • No detailed navigation with navigation connector

    Hi at all,
I want to implement my own navigation connector in order to extend the portal navigation. So far I have been able to successfully register the navigation connector and the portal already renders my first and second level navigation nodes. However, the portal will not show a detailed navigation for my navigation nodes in higher levels than the first and second.
I have validated that the child nodes are defenitely there, they just won't show. In fact, the whole detailed navigation iview seems to not show up.
Does anybody have an idea why the detailed navigation does not show up for navigation nodes that were registered with a navigation connector?

  • Deactivate "Detailed Navigation" in an iView?

    Hi there,
    just a little question.
I created a new URL iView and put it in to the toplevel Navigation. Thats works fine. But when i open the iview over my menu always the detailed navigation is displayed on the left side... where can i deactivate the detailed navigation for this iview? I dont want to deactivate it systemwide. Only in this iview...
    Thanks and Regards
    Bjoern

open the page where your url iview is added.
then set the property of  'initial state of navigation panel ' to close or always close' . This will hide the detailed navigational panel for only that page.
    Hope that helps you.

  • Collaboration Detail Navigation

    Hello All,
what is Collaboration Detail navigation? it is coming under Collaboration -> Rooms -> Room Directory -> Public Rooms(Tab) -> Clicking the Public Room, i am getting Collaboration Detail Navigation instead of Detail Navigation.
If i need to view that iViews(Tasks, Documents and links, Search Room...) which resides inside the Collaboration Detail navigation, how can i get that path?
It is telling the path Portal Content -> com.sap.ip.collaboration -> Rooms, but nothing i can found here.

  • Detailed Navigation Interaction

    Hi all.
I have made some kind of navigation menu iView (Self-made) to be like a welcome screen for the user and choose his first action.
Point is this works OK, but I want to interact with the Detailed Navigation for it to highlight the option choose by the user... I want the Detailed Navigation to "follow" the user movements done at this self-made screen.
Is it possible?? Has the Detailed Navigation any kind of API to interact with it through Java sentences??
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hide detailed navigation and Portal favorites windows for some roles?

    Hi ,
We want to hide Detailed Navigation Area and Portal favorites area for some specific  roles.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Subba Rao

    Hi,
    1. You have to create a seperate desktop.
    2.  Inside the desktop, the framework which you are assigning will contain Desktop innerpage, Masthead and Top level navigation page.
    3. You need to copy the desktop inner page and paste with different name (since it is a standard page)
    4. Now open the custom desktop inner page and remove the iviews what ever you dont want.
    5. So now your framework page will not have the detailed navigation anymore.
    6. Then we need to set master rule collection to load this desktop for a specific role using if... then  condition.
Finally the role will have only which ever the iviews you have selected in desktop inner page.
    Thanks,
    Mahendran B.

  • Resource Bundle for Detailed Navigation

    Hi All,
I am trying to modify the text "Detailed Navigation".I was not able to find the Resource Bundle for that.can any one let me know the location for the resource Bundle for changing the Detailed navigation text.
    Thanks,
    sk

    Hi,
Up until now, there was no resource bundle for admin properties in a portal component. Properties were defined as component properties in the portalapp.xml (in english). Once you created an iView, you could then translate the properties in the PCD (for example, with translation worklist).
This will change with an upcoming version -- perhaps 2004s SP14.
Hope this helps and I understood your situation correctly.

  • Tree Renderer for detailed navigation

    Hi,
does anyone know, which tree renderer is used in detailed navigation?
I would like to change the behaviour:
By default, the tree in detailed navigation should show  all items as open.

    Hello Holger,
The only way to achieve this feature is by implementing your own detailed navigation.

  • Dynamically generated Detailed navigation and related link

Where is the Detailed navigation and related link configured for the ESS/MSS.

I could see different navigation and related links for different worksets within ESS/MSS getting called dynamically. Where is this configured.

    Hello Sir,
If you haven't made it at this point, this is indeed done via the Home Page Framework via the backend on the following IMG PATH:
    > Cross-Application Components
      >  Homepage Framework
    1. You make a resource available via the Role (via PCD)
    2. You customize every other part as a cascade:
    Define Area group / Headers
-> Define Areas / Assign Area to Area Group
-> Define Subareas / Assign subarea to Area
-> Define Services / Assign Services to Subarea.
    Hope I have clarified.

  • Can't find services in the Detailed Navigation when open from Overview page

    Hi,
We have developed a custom area page for our ESS application. The area is visible in the Overview page as well as in TLN (Top leavel navigation). When we open the area from TLN the services under this area are visible in the Detailed Navigation(DN) on the left. But when we are trying to open the area from the overview page we can't be able to see the services in the DN and we have realized that the focus is on "Overview" in the TLN. In DN also only the Overview link is coming. But for other standard ESS applications the focus in the TLN is changing.
Please help to find the solution.
    Thanks,
    Sekhar

    Hi Sekhar,
Did you get any solution for this issue. I am facing the same situation. Please advise.

  • How to disable automatic loading of iView/Page in detailed navigation?

    Hello,
    We've upgraded our portal 7.0 from SP9 to SP12.
I've noticed that SAP have added this change: Whenever a user is navigating between one role/tab to another in the top level navigation the first folder at the detailed navigation is automatically opened and the first content there is automatically loaded.
I would like to disable this option - I've looked at the new properties that have been added to the detailed navigation iView between SP9 and SP12 and could only find these two: Display Parent of Hidden Node and Open Folder When Launched.
These two are not solving this problem and they are disabled anyway.
    Any ideas...?
    Roy

    Roy,
    Role and Workset Hierarchy:
Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.
Below are the links for configuring levels of TLN and right below it you will find link for define entry point:
