Determine last values in Cube in 0CALMONTH & 0VTYPE ?

Hi, i am try determine last data in my cube for real 0VTYPE = 010, is necesary complete 3 month using data from other cube using 0VTYPE = 050 and complete to last month in year using other cube in 0VTYPE = 060.
This is process running all months, incrementing real and moving rest the values.
My result version is necesary 0VTYPE = 070.
I think use APD, any alternatives ?

We determine using APD read Query and Insert ranges in ODS, after DTP use in filter ABAP for read ODS parameters.

How to determine the "Last Value" in exception aggregation

Hi gurus,
I have a KeyFigure with an exception aggregation -Last value- by time.
I report on a multiprovider ("containing" a infocube and a realtime infocube with BPS-InputLayout). I can correct separate Items with this BPS-Layout. So, at the end I have 2 values for one item.
So, by these facts, my report shows the the last value for the specific KeyFigure, but I expected that both values (the value in the infocube and the correction via BPS)are sumed up.
As this is due to the exception aggregation not the case, I could "overwrite" the normal value in the infocube with the BPS.
But SAP determines the normal value in the Infocube as "Last Value", not the one in the correction cube, which is entered via BPS.
How does SAP determine the "last value" as I can´t see any date...

I got the soltion by myself.
I thought, Last Value means the last Value, depending on the time, but in my opinion the function last value should be called "Greatest Value".
All figures with the same value for the reference characteristc are aggregated anyway.

How to show last value of the delivery week

i was expecting the same and working on it. that means the infocube contains this Key figure too, right!!!
but can't we show this result directly in the report with out this key fig....

Display last value from a row or column?

I'm using Numbers 09 and want to display the last value entered in a column in another table.
For example in Table A I have columns set up by date with simple sums at the bottom of each column. I add new sums every day depending on the values from that day. What I'd like to do is get the last daily total and enter that value into another table called Table B. Is there a formula that will do that?
If I'm not being clear enough please let me know what additional information you need and I will be happy to provide it.

A1 in Table 2 and Table 3 contain the same formula:
=MAX(Table 1 :: $1:1)
This returns the latest date from row 1 of Table 1.
A2 in Table 2 and Table 3 contain formulas that return the value in the bottom cell of the column containing the latest date in row 1.
Table 2: =OFFSET(Table 1 :: $A$1,ROWS('May 1, 2010')-1,MAX(Table 1 :: $2:2)-1)
Table 3: =OFFSET(Table 1 :: $A$1,ROWS('May 1, 2010')-1,COUNT(Table 1 :: $1:1)-1)
Both use the same base ($A$1) and the same row offset (ROWS('May 1, 2010')-1) to reach the bottom row of Table 1.
Table 2 uses the maximum (and only) numerical value in row 2 of Table 1 ( MAX(Table 1 :: $2:2) ), then subtracts 1 to reach the fourth column of table 1.
Table 3 uses the same means to determine the row offset, but counts the number of dates entered into row 1 of Table 1 ( COUNT(Table 1 :: $1:1) ), then subtracts 1 to reach the same cell.
I prefer the method in Table 3 because it avoids the need for the second Header row and the possibility of overwriting the formulas in that row. (Row 2 of Table 1 may be deleted without affecting Table 3.) It does require that there be no empty cells in Row 1 from Column A to the column containing the latest date.

Using different hierarchy in a query and last value error

Hi guys,
there is a hierarchy for customers in the 0Customer Infoobject which I should use in my query.
I have activated the hierarchy in the query and now some results are not appearing but red crosses "x" are shown.
And the error message: The function Calculate Results as ... could not be applied everywhere.
I know that I am using the result as "last value" for some columns because I need them there (for example: to determine the last value for the credit limit of the current month). I think these columns where I am using the last value calculation are only affected.
I mean my query has a lot of characteristics and key figures and I was told that a hiearchy for customers which is available should be used. But now there are these red crosses.
I don´t see any other solution as not to use this specific hierarchy.
Has anybody a suggestion what could be an argument to use or not to use a hierarchy?
Is it sometimes like in my case that a hierarchy is not possible to use?

Hi,
say for example your customer hierarchy is customers grouped under region. You can maintain this region as one of the attribute of customer and you can display this attribute in the report. Indirectly, this will give similar output to that of hierarchy.
But lot depends on how your hierarchy is formed, before commenting whether it can be moved to master data attributes.

We have aggregate functions in SQL. Some of the functions are as follows.
MAX(col ) Determines the maximum value of the value in the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
MIN( col ) Determines the minimum value of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
AVG( col ) Determines the average value of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group. The data type of the column has to be numerical.
SUM( col ) Determines the sum of the content of the column col in the resulting set or in the current group. The data type of the column has to be numerical.
COUNT( col ) Determines the number of different values in the column col in the resulting set or in the current group.
For further details , type the function name name and press F1 for further help.
Eg: select count(mantr) from mara into workarea where condition.

Exception aggregation - Last Value

Hi,
We are having requirement where we have a table in non R/3 system for SKU - Customer level closing stocks on particular day are maintained. We want to create a cube for the table in BI. This table contains entries for SKU + Customer for diff days. We want to show the closing stock of last(/latest) day for which Customer+ SKU record exists. To achieve this we have used Calculated Key figure on Closing stock with Exception Aggregation - Last value with ref to Calendar Day.
It woks fine only if I have Customer & SKU both used in query. But we have to show these stocks aggregated on Plant level. (Customer are linked to Plants and it is directly avbl in our cube). In this case aggregation does'nt work.
Lets say following are the closing stocks for SKU- M1 & 3 customers from Plant = 1101
          date-> 1/1/2007 2/1/2007 3/1/2007
Cust1             10                           15
Cust2                            20
Cust3             25
In above case if i have to see closing stock on 3/1/2007 for SKU-M1 @plant 1101 (sum of latest closing stock @ all customer sites under plant 1101), i should get = 60 (152025). But it gives me 15 only.
Could anyone explain how to design a query for this? Or in cube design/uploads it can be managed.

Hello Vikram
One possible solution I can think of is to use an extra ODS in order to hold your data in an aggregated form that suits you. Unfortunately the exceptional aggregation behaviour does not work outside reporting thus in the transfer rules from your data provider to this new ODS you should add a formula checking whether the new record to be transfered to the ODS has a date newer than the ones already transfered in the ODS. Else it should skip the current record and proceed to the next one.
Another possible solution would be to use the APD and transfer the results of the query you are already playing in an ODS (this way you take advantage of the exceptional aggregation behavior) and by transfering your records to a second ODS you can achieve the aggregation you need.

Using oracle 11g, apex version 3.0.
Ok, so I am developing a survey with questions and their related answers (either radio group or checkbox depending). I have it set up so that when a user clicks a checkbox, an apex_collection is updated. In the pl/sql of my region source, I left outer join to this collection to display the checkbox as checked when its value is found in the collection. Using this same strategy, I can delete a value from the collection when a user uncheckes a box....
The problem I am having is this: the very last value that a user checks initially (i.e. takes checkbox from unchecked to checked status) is staying in my application level item :ADD_THIS, so when the page is refreshed or whatever, this value gets added to my collection, which means it shows as checked. Well, I think this is what is happenig...!
I have tried setting the app level item to null in a computation process, but this screwed everything up and nothing would work right....
So, if someone knows when, how and where to reset an app level item?
NOTE: I barely know javascript (getting the hang of simple stuff but I have a long way to go!) and am a little shaky on things like session state, before load, after load, etc., etc, when it comes to apex. Please be patient with me! (smile)

What you explained doesnt make any sense. What determines which is last value? Is there a column to determine that? Please elaborate giving some sample data.

How to get --Last date of the Last value .

Here current price is Last Value of the particular Material on particular Date.
This I can get based on Key figure Aggregation ( Last Value and reference Character 0CALDAY ), It is giving the last Value of the Particular Material.
Now my user wants to see Last date of the value ( Date of the Value )
Example :-
Material Country Date --Current Price
1112----- Singapore -
01/04/2008 -- 100
1112----- Japan -
04/05/2008 -- 120
1112----- Malesia -
05/05/2008 -- 99
If I drill down the date in my report it is showing all dates , my user wants to see only last date .
Hope some one has solved this issue , please help me to solve this issue.

I have created a keyfigure with date as a data type.
In aggregation tab, I selected aggregation Maximum.
Upto DSO, data is Loaded perfect. Ok.
I added the same key figure in cube , When I am trying to Activate the Transformation,
It is giving Error message.
Rule 17 is invalid and is being deleted. The reason for this is that a field or InfoObject that is used in rule 17 has been deleted in the source or target of the transformation ODSO ZPL_DSO1 -> CUBE ZPLATT_C (0GH6MHANQ2J79LXZBLGIJ9ZK9LWHK6RS)

First and last values of this month

Hi ,
In my reporting I want to calculate average value based on amount.
Avg = ( Starting amount of this month + Ending amount of this month) / 2.
How can i get the starting value and ending value for one field "Amount".
I changed the <b>amount</b> properties as Sum, Last value and based 0calday.
but for the same amount how can I get the starting value.
(NOTE: Starting value is not equal to the last month last value).
The data is coming based on day wise.
Suggest me ...

Can you tell me which cube you are working with, and what is the key figure ?
What you can do is have a RKF which will have a selection variable for fiscal year period for the current month(which could be a user entry and mandatory entry).
Now create a copy of the above RKF and use a off set of -1 for the variable fiscal year period.
now the valu you get from the first RKF will be the month end balance and the value you get for the second RKF will be the closing balance of previous month, which is nothing but the opening for the user inputed month.
Now you can create a CKF to get the average.

Last month it was working fine, and working fine in Quality enviroment also.

How to display the last value of a field in a group in the group header

I need to display the last quiz score from a group of quiz scores as part of the header of a group of units (the quiz score values are in the detail record). I can not use the group footer, which would be the natural place to find the last value. It must be in the group header because there will be a subsequent group within the unit group. In other words, the grouping is as follows:
Unit Group Header (Display last quiz score in unit)
SubUnit Group Header (Display other detail summaries)
Detail Record (including quiz score)
SubUnit Group Footer
Unit Group Footer
While there is a minimum/maximum summary function, there is not a first/last function.

One suggestion to display the last quiz score in the Group Header, other than what had already been suggested, will be to use a linked subreport in the Group Header. It is not an efficient way to display the information, but it could do the trick.
Another suggestion will be to insert a subreport in the report header, then store the last quiz score in an array for each group, then share it with the main report and display the values in the appropriate group. In this way it will only connect twice to the data source, one for the main report and once for the subreport, instead of multiple connection for each group.
Finally, the most efficient way will be to have this value calculated on the database side using a command object or a stored procedure.

Key Figure value in Cube showing with extra zeros

Loaded data into the cube. When I display the result
Key figure values are showing with 2 extra zeroes and Quantity value shaowing with 3 extra zeroes.
Original value
Price, Quantity, Sales Rev

When display value from cube
Price, Quantity, Sales Rev
2,00     1,000     2,00
3,00     2,000     6,00
Why zero is showing? How can I display the original value? In PSA, values are showing correctly.

Hi,
These are the zeroes after the decimal places. this is the property of the key figure.
In your report you can change the display value. In the display properties of the Key figure under the number of decimal places make it as 0. This will remove the zeroes.

I am sorry as that note is for NW2004s. Please check if 0DAT variable installed from a business content? if not then I think thats the cause of the problem.
