Determine the current page of pdf

In my VI I load a pdf into an activeX container.
I would like to be able to progammatically determine which page is currently being viewed.  I have looked throught the various property classes and method classes for the adobe pdf reader and can't find anything that will tell me what page is active.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Torry

Hi Torry
looks like some of the best have been looking at this a few years ago and found it too much of and issue to deal with - suggestion would be to stop wasting time on it:
http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/OLE-Automation-Methods-for-Acrobat-Reader-in-ActiveX-Control/td-p/95...
Or, if you want - here is where I have got in 5 mins following my nose (see attachment)
Just need to get rid of navigation pane and you are sorted!!

    You can use printPages(1, 5), however I need to know how you print current page.

    I can only print the current page of downloaded pdf's.  Not able to print "all".  I'm using a Macbook air.

    it says "the document could not be printed".  "There were no ages selected to print".
    I selected "all".  I always tried selecting pages "1-3".
    The only choice that works is current page.  Very strange.

  • Pdf reader that will let me print the current page number to stdout ?

    I'm looking into annotating my readings, and it'd really speed things up if I were able to get the current page number printed to stdout.
    I've been through evince and xpdf's manuals, the latter will let you output the file to ps, so there might be some hacking possible there, but maybe there is a more convenient alternative...?
    Would appreciate some suggestions.
    Cheers !

    Sure that works, it's just that I'm already wrapping my pdf reader in a ruby script to allows me to make annotations linking back to the original document and page, and I also use the clipboard to quote.
    So instead of being a keybinding away, I end up have to juggle with windows...

  • How do I determine whether the current page in Forms is the last page.

    I have a requirement of printing amount in words using SPELL_AMOUNT Funtion Module, in SAP Scripts.
    When I have only one Item Line, I am able to successfully, print the amount.
    The moment i have line items pouring to the next page, I see that the I am unable to retrieve the spelled amount from the Function Module.
    I think may be i need to find out if the current page is the last page, and if it is so, print the amount on the last page, .i.e., the page where the item lines have overflowed to. How do i find this out.
    Can anybody, suggest something.
    Regards,
    Owais...

    I wonder if you could do something like this.  Wrap your logic with this IF statement.
    /: IF &PAGE& = &SAPSCRIPT-FORMPAGES&
    /: ENDIF

  • How to determine if the current page is a "Community Knowledge Directory"

    I am creating a new Navigation Scheme and I was wondering if anybody has figure out how to test to see if the current page the user is on is a "Community Knowledge Directory" page or not. What I am trying to do is display a different background color when the user lands on a page in a horizontal tab navigation. I've noticed that there is a control=SetSiteMap in URL when ever the user lands on the Community Knowledge Directory. Is that what I should be checking for?

  • Using Acrobat Reader activeX to get the current page views in a document

    Hello,
    I'm using the Acrobat Reader ActiveX control.
    How can I use this API (or any other way) to get the current page of the PDF document inside the Acrobat reader ActiveX control ?
    Thanks
    Ariel

    Aandi,
    I reckon that you might be right.
    But as side note, maybe Adobe will lose me and others as contributers for her PDF oriented solutions for other formats.
    In the long run experts can tell which approach is better: a .Net like approach (no limitations upon development issues for ) or this kind of an approach.
    Thank you very very much for you help!

  • In version 8 the "stop loading the current page" icon is missing. How do I get it back?

    I just installed version 8, and even though the features page says that the "stop loading the current page" will be a part of the default navigation toolbar, that icon is not on the toolbar. How do I get it to be there

    In Firefox 4 and newer versions, the Go, Stop and Reload buttons are combined in one button at the right end of the URL or Address bar. The button changes depending on the activity:
    *green Go arrow when typing in the address bar
    *red Stop ("X") button while page is loading
    *gray Reload (circular arrow) when page is finished loading.
    See image at the bottom of this reply
    Separate buttons are possible:
    #Open Customize Toolbar window by clicking Firefox button > Option > Toolbar Layout '''''OR''''' clicking View > Toolbars > Customize if using the Menu Bar '''''OR''''' right-click in an empty space on a toolbar and choose Customize
    #<u>While the Customize window is open</u>, Stop and Reload buttons will show separated between the address bar and the search bar
    #<u>While the Customize window is open</u>, drag the buttons anywhere on the Navigation toolbar
    #*order Reload-Stop will combine into one button
    #**leaving in this order between URL/Location/Address bar and Search bar will cause it to re-combine with the "Go" button at the right end of the URL/Location/Address bar
    #**leaving in this order elsewhere, the Reload and Stop buttons will combine into one button
    #*order Stop-Reload will remain separate buttons
    #*or drag a "Separator" from the Customize window between Reload-Stop and they will remain separate
    #click Done at bottom right of Customize window to finish

  • Determining the Current Tab

    I am currently on a project dealing with tabs as defined by the 3.0.9 portal.
    It is an absolute showstopper if we cannot determine which tab page a portlet is on, that is if we cannot know the identity/state of the currently rendered tab in a page.
    Either we need to know how to hook to a tab so that when it is clicked we can get some info, or we must have the state of the currently visible tab page.
    There is no apparent API for this.
    We have tried to construct a tab page monitor, but cannot attach aportlet to the page which we can guarantee will be rendered first, and therefor use that to guarantee the rest of the portlets on the page will be rendered properly.
    Once again, this is a showstopper for the client. There must be a reliable workaround for this, but we have not found it.
    Help!

    I'm concerned...
    It has been suggested that I could essentiall parse the "_pageid" variable from the current page URL to get the information about which tab is visible, by matching what I know to be the page, and tab numbers for the tabs on the page. I certainly can do that.
    Even a brute force approach such as this requires that I have access to the current Page URL.
    Perhaps I have missed something, but is there a method in PL.SQL for me to get the URL for the current page, rather than for the current portlet?
    I cannot guarantee which sequence portlets will be rendered on the page, only that they will all start and finish ( or time out ) before the page is displayed to me.
    So, Is there a method to get the Page URL( with query string attached ) between the time when it is sent (completed) to the server to be rendered, and time when the page is displayed in my browser.
    This is the time when the portlets on the page need the information to do their jobs.
    Or, is there a way to hook into the tab, and when it is pressed, set some state variable that will serve the purpose as well.
    We are using only the standard components and PL/SQL as required to promote maintenance and eventual reuse.

  • Determining the current viewId

    Hi, I need to determine the current view id, therefore I am using the following code:
    /* adf-settings.xml */
    <adf-settings xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/settings">
      <adfc-controller-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/config">
        <lifecycle>
          <phase-listener>
            <listener-id>myPagePhaseListener</listener-id>
            <class>obasi.common.domain.myPagePhaseListener</class>
          </phase-listener>
        </lifecycle>
      </adfc-controller-config>
    </adf-settings>
    /* myPagePhaseListener */
        public void beforePhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
            try {
                if (pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.PREPARE_MODEL_ID) {
                    for (Object child:FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().getChildren())
                        if (child instanceof RichDocument)
                            System.out.println(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().getViewId());
            } catch (Exception ex)
                // ignore
        }But this doesn't seem to work accurately. Some viewId's are only "detected" after leaving a page...
    I noticed that this happens when the URL inside my browser also remains pointing to the previous page.
    Is there a way to solve this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Charles.

    Hi,

  • How do I programmatically reference the current page in 902?

    Hello,
    How do I programmatically reference the current page in 902?
    The Portal Smart Text option for Current Page is not flexible enough, and I wish to create my own custom greeting using PL/SQL.

    hi,
    If you are developing a PLSQL Portlet, then you do have a way for getting the page URL.
    The page URL can be obtained from the record, portlet_runtime_record. There is a filed page_urlavailable with portlet_runtime_record.
    The portlet_runtime_record is passed as a argument to the show_portlet procedure.

  • How can I make a link a different color than the other links according to the current page?

    Hello.  I have created a navigation bar.  And I would like to style the links to have the current page link a different color than the other links.  For example, if all of the links have a black background, I would like to have the current page link to have a white background.  The reason that I would like to style them this way is so that the visitor knows what page is being visitied.
    I tried different ways but all of them did not show to make any change to the links.  This is what I have so far.  The links work, but all of them have the same color and background.  When on the home page, I would like to have the home page link to have a white background with black letters.  I would appreciate your advice.

    Thanks & Regards
    Srikkanth.M

    I'm not 100% clear on what the requirement is from the description, however it does sound like you are making things unnecessarily complicated.
    If you want permanent/ID-independent links then use application and page aliases.
    so here we used to display the url like this: <tt>{noformat}http://81.131.254.171:8080/apex/f?p=122{noformat}</tt>
    Do you mean that the URL is displayed like that? If so that doesn't seem particularly helpful. How is anyone supposed to know what it is?
    There are many ways to provide links in APEX&mdash;including lists and nav bars.
    Where the link is to another resource located on the same server (such as another page in the same app, or a different app in the workspace), relative addressing can be used, making it unecessary to include scheme, domain and port information in the URL. For example, if the page to be linked to has a page alias <tt>ABOUT</tt> in an application with alias <tt>UNITY</tt>, and the apps share an authentication scheme/cookie to permit shared sessions, then the link URL is simply
    f?p=UNITY:ABOUT:&APP_SESSION.

  • How to get the function name/ID  of the current page

    HI,
    I searched the forum and google, but it is not clear on how to get the function name of the current page.
    I have 4 functions in my self service A ,B,C,D (seeded page links ) they all have to go to a page called hhhPG. Based on which function user is clicks I have to show the data in hhhPG.
    so my question is how to get the function name ? I mean I need to know if user click on link A , B, C or D link and came to this page.
    I found below in one forum and also there is getfunctionID in pageContext , but I do not know what to pass to getfunctionid("???") to get value.
    FunctionSecurity funcSecurity = pageContext.getFunctionSecurity();
    Or is there a better way of know where user is coming from ? like geturl....
    Please help, I need this ASAP.
    Thank you.

    Use below to find out how the user came into the page
    FunctionSecurity funcSecurity = pageContext.getFunctionSecurity();
    boolean isFunc1 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME1"));
    boolean isFunc2 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME2"));
    boolean isFunc3 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME3"));
    boolean isFunc4 = funcSecurity.testFunction(funcSecurity.getFunction("YOUR_FUNCTION_SHORT_NAME4"));
    So one of them will be true based on the function the user came in.
    Write your logic based on these flags.

    Peddi.
