Determining system/forms crashes

Our application has this bad habit of crashing occasionally, and it usually does so when data entry personnel are entering data on long data entry forms. So, they get a little irritated when all their data is gone. We haven't been able to pinpoint the problem to avoid system and/or form crashing, so I'm trying to implement a work-around within the data entry form itself so that if their system crashes, they'll at least have the majority of their data intact. My question is this: Is there a variable (system or otherwise) that you can check upon application re-entry to determine if the last session was terminated abnormally? I currently have a multiple record form, and I'm performing commits after each record has been entered. The way our application is built (and with my fix) is that if the system were to crash mid-entry, the data that was entered up to that point is saved, but the form appears entered in the database. Therefore, the user cannot open up this form again and complete the data entry on that form. I want to check upon application entry if that form was terminated abnormally and if so, open the form up again for more entry. Anyone know how I can do this?

One way is to have a variable saved somewhere (database or file system), when you exit the Form correctly you can set this to OK. and set it to NOTOK when you start a form.
So when the Form crashes the value will be NOTOK the next time you enter it.

Problem with AddRow() in custom matrix on System Form

Hello all,
I'm trying to add 1 row to a custom matrix on a system form (Sales Quotation).
However I always get a RPC_E_SERVERFAULT exception when calling pMatrix.AddRow() and SBO crashes...
My code is simple:

System-wide crashes, WoW at center

I was playing a Strand of the Ancients last night when WoW suddenly crashed. No new addons; the application had been stable for weeks or months. When WoW crashed, other programs I was running (Firefox, Word, etc) also crashed. I restarted and tried to run WoW, but it crashed before the load screen, and the debugger also seemed to crash, loading for a second and then disappearing. Several other attempts to load the game got me as far as signing in and getting halfway into loading Strand back up, but then WoW would crash again. I ran Disk Utility to repair permissions, and OS X crashed into the gray screen of death. After the hard reboot, I managed to repair permissions and to scan the disk, neither of which showed problems. I will scan them again to post the info here.
Several reboots have all ended in the same symptoms: the system runs fine until I try to open WoW, and then everything begins to crash all over again. At this point, I have uninstalled WoW in an attempt to reinstall, but after running the InstallWoW application Safari crashed, followed in several minutes by Firefox. All internet-based applications from browsers to the Curse Client fail, usually immediately. After an attempt to open WoW, Firefox will chain crash. Without having attempted to open WoW, it will run for 5-20 minutes between crashes.
For addons, I am running the full Auctioneer (latest edition and addition, about two weeks ago) along with DBM, Omen, Overacheiver, Pallypower (disabled), Quartz, and Recount. I use Curse Client to keep most of them up-to-date.
If you need more information than I have provided here, I will need step-by-step instructions on how to retrieve it. My ignorance is why I have not provided the Firefox and OS X crash reports.

FORMS CRASHES (FRM-92101) ON AS 10.1.2.0.2 DURING LOAD PERFORMANCE TESTING

Hiya
We have been doing Load Performance Testing using testing tool QALoad on our Forms 10g application. After about 56 virtual users(sessions) have logged-in into our application, if a new user tries to log-in into our application, the Forms crashes. As soon as we encounter the FRM-92101 error, no more new forms session are able to start.
The Load Testing software start up each process very quickly, about every 10 seconds.
The very first form that appears is the login form of our application. So before the login screen appears, we get FRM-92101 error message.
However, those users who have already logged-in into our application, they are able to carry on their tasks.
We are using Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2. I have checked the status on Application Server through Oracle Enterprise Manager Console. The OC4J Instance is up and running. Also, server's configuration is pretty good. It is running on 2 CPUs (AMD Opteron 3GHz) and has 32GB of memory. The memory used by those 56 sessions is less than 3GB.
The Applicatin Server is running on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64bit Enterprise Edition.
Any help will be much appreciated.

In the right hand side panel, you will find String Value as Windows. Now double click on it (Windows). In the pop up window you will see a string similar to the following one:

Here SharedSection specifies the system and desktop heaps using the following format:
SharedSection=xxxx,yyyy,zzzz
The default values are 1024,3072,512
All the values are in Kilobytes (KB)
xxxx = System-wide Heapsize. There is no need to modify this value.
yyyy = IO Desktop Heapsize. This is the heap for memory objects in the IO Desktop.
zzzz = Non-IO Desktop Heapsize. This is the heap for memory objects in the Non-IO Desktop.
On our server the values were as follows :
1024,20480,768
We changed the size of Non-IO desktop heapsize from 768 to 5112. With 5112 KB we managed to test our application for upto 495 virtual users.

Forms Crashing Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 On Windows 7

Dear All,
Recently we have migrated all our Development PC's to Windows 7, and then after whenever we open any forms which is having more size the system is crashing. Does anybody have any solution for this .Currently we are working with XP MODE and this is also not a full proofed solution.

It is likely that you are either not using a Professional release of Windows (i.e. "Home Edition") or have some other issue on your machine. Assuming you are in fact using one of the Professional releases of Win7 and believe that you have carefully followed the installation instructions which I previously mentioned, I would suggest you completely uninstall (including the manual deletion of any registry entries and directories in the file system) then reinstall. It is very important that you are in the "Administrator" group before attempting to install. The same is true when you attempt to use the Builder. Also, helpful would be to disable or relax Windows UAC before starting the installation.
As an alternative, consider installing and using Windows XP Mode (Windows Virtual PC)

Forms crashes after copying over fmx

While testing changes, I notice that when I copy over the currently open form's fmx that when I close the form the following exception is raised and forms crashes. Is there any work around? (other then not copying overwriting files in use)

This is actually expected behavior (See MetaLink Note 286762.1). There is a way to work around this in a development environment, but you really DO NOT want to do it in a production environment (See MetaLink Note Note 151618.1).
To increase scalability of Forms, each individual user does not have all the Forms loaded for them. So, only those things that are necesary for a user to run a session are loaded. For the first sessions, it is everything. For subsequent users, it is only things necessary that are different from the first sessions.
This allows you to run LOTS more users with FAR fewer resources.
If this is a Development system, the workaround is to disable this performance feature & load everything into memory for every user. You do this by setting the FORMS_MMAP environment variable to FALSE (0 for Forms 6i and earlier). Use the version number for Forms versions 9 & earlier (i.e. FORMS90_MMAP).
I hope this explains things for you & why this is expected.
If you think about it, why would you want currently connected users to be running while putting new Forms in place. Think about how the logic could be messed up if they started running parts of the application that were put out there while other parts were still in memory.
Another way you could do this in a production environment would be to have multiple directories for different versions of your application. Then, when the new files are ready to be promoted, you change the FORMS_PATH to point to that new location. The connected users will still be reading the old forms & the new users would be using the new ones.

Livecycle form crashes Reader and Acrobat

I've created a Livecycle form that has been working great. However, a user managed to corrupt it somehow and now it causes both Reader and Acrobat to freeze and then close when trying to load it. I also tried it in Nuance which causes a freeze but not an app close. However I noticed in task manager that while frozen, Nuance's memory consumption continues to grow.
Is there anyway to debug this to determine what is going on? Any other suggestions on how I can try to determine what is happening?

Does the form crash when you do a preview in LiveCycle Designer? Have you got "When exception thrown" set to break in JavaScript preferences, maybe you can see an exception in the console?

Transaction control after we press 'add' in system forms

Hi All,
I want to perform a transasction in goods issue for the same items which user enters in goods recipt form. when he presses 'Add' in goods receipt form, ideally first, receipt document will be generated by default (thru system only) and then thru SDK's oInventoryGenExit object, I m passing the same document to issue but, I want to let the receipt be created first and then only if the receipt is created successfully, Issue will be generated. but, in practice, the issue is executed first.
Is there any way to track if user has clicked "yes"
for "you can not change the document after you have added it.
do u want to continue?" message, after he presses 'Add'?.
Ideally, issue document should be generated after user clicks yes and reciept is generated.

the workarounds we discussed work fine. I m facing one more problem. After the system form succesfully adds the data (and we get the confirmation by checking the action success or something like that) , how can I know which was the last document added by that form? for example, I am handling the Form Data Event in sales order form and checking the action success. but, I want to know which was the document created by this event in back-end. we can do it by comparing the document number from form screen, but we know that, for cases such as more than one users adding the documents simultaneously or when a draft is saved as document, the shown doument number may not be the actual number with which the document may have been saved in back-end table.
How can I determine this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I m just stuck up on this

Error while determining the form function module

Hi everyone,
We are experiencing problems while displaying one adobe form in ESS. Its the Travel Expense form (PTRV_EXPENSE_FORM). When pressing the button to Display/Print the form we get an error message: "Error while determining the form function module", and no form I shown. The ADS server is configured correctly and there are other forms that are actually working, for example the Travel Request form. We are running WAS 7.0 with SP12.
Anyone has an idea what can cause the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to create add-on of a system form in sap b1 9.0?

Hi all,
I have a problem related to the creation of a system form add-on of sap b1 9.0.
I can develop some projects in visual basic, but about sap b1 add-on, I know how to package files of to install (.ard and .exe files) and I also know how to register .ard file in sap b1 9.0, So I tried to register all projects found in SDK sample folder that was correct.
I tried to do an example of project found in SDK Help Center.
But the problem I have to day related to the creation of system form add-on.
The steps I tried to do are:
1. I opened SAP B1 Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio
2. Right click my project and add the system form (Employee Master Data)
3 Connection string I used in Command line arguments 0030002C0030002C00530041005000420044005F00440061007400650076002C0050004C006F006D0056004900490056
4. I added one field (CFL of BPCode) to Employee Master Data. I did n't add any reference because when I add UI API Vission 9.0 to system form or user form of sap b1 it gives errors in Menu.vb. I do know why.
5. I converted in 32 bit and build my project
6. I re_opened new visual studio 2010 for creating new project with SAP B1 AddOnInstaller.NET Wizard
7. From here I did every thing according to the video of Bryan Gomez

8. I registered my .ard file
9. But when I start my add-on it gives error (Add-on connection timed out)
The questions I want to ask,
1. If you are creating the add-on of system form Is there any other thing needed to do more than the above I explained?.
2. Is it necessary to go in SDK code when you are using the system form like that?.
3. If it is necessary to add reference of UI API in project, how to handle error occurs when we add that the reference to the project which is using a system form?.
Please anyone who has an idea he/she can help me.

That's good but as I said above when I add the reference of UI API Version 9.0 in the project which has the system form or user form of sap b1 it exactly gives errors in menu.vb of the project.
So let me give you the way you can try.
1. Open new project/ visual basic/ sap business one/ sap business one add-on project. and save it any where
2. Right click on your project
3. Add new item
4. Sap Business One
5. System form (Employee master data) or user form
6. Add
And then if your form is opened
7. Go to add the reference of UI API Version 9.0
8. Check errors found in menu.vb (or in OutPut)
So if it's possible try to solve that problem.

Carbon Copy Cloner will allow you to de-select directory trees, so you could use it to copy over everything EXCEPT the /Users directory tree.
Mac OS X is NOT just the System Folder. If you do not copy over the rest of Mac OS X, it will not boot. So better to exclude Users and take everything else, then it is to try and pick and choose.
The other approach is to install a New Mac OS X, and then copy over the stuff you want from the home folder(s) and reinstall any apps you want.
