Developer Server: getting started

I am trying to get started with Developer server. I installed
Jinitiator and the forms listener. I used the Jinitiator-tags
template, but it just says 'loading applet'. What is missing?

You should read through all the past threads on this subject,
there is a lot of good information and many things you must do
first, before Web forms will run!!!

  • Server gets Started if config.xml changes?

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem. In my application I have a config.xml file. If I make any changes to it, there server(tomcat) gets started. So i have to wait for sometimes for doing any transaction.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue? I don't want to restart the server.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Rishab.

How is this related to JSF? You should post Tomcat related questions at a Tomcat related forum or mailinglist. There is one at its own homepage over there at Apache.org.

    Hi,
I believe few of the jars are missing in your classpath due to which you are getting this error. Try adding the "*adf.share_11.1.1.jar*" from (\ORACLE_HOME\modules\features\adf.share_11.1.1.jar) in your weblogic server classpath and then try to start the server.
    Setting Classpath:
    ===========
In "setDomainEnv.cmd" add the above jar in the "set PRE_CLASSPATH=" as shown below
    Example:
    set PRE_CLASSPATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\modules\features\adf.share_11.1.1.jar

  • Mac OS X Server - getting started

Hello, I need to setup an Xserve with Mac OS X Server 10.5.7. How do you configure it so a person can login to their own account from any computer and have their own desktop, dock, etc?
    Thanks

    Hi

The rest of Apple's documentation is here:
    http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/
    Read thoroughly. Move onto:

These are just a few. You could Google for the rest of which there are many. Consider enrolling yourself in one of the Support Essentials Courses:
    http://training.apple.com/
There has to be at least one in your locale? Regardless of platform deploying, configuring, running and maintaining a server is more than just the OS itself. There are many different skills you have to bring into play. A basic understanding of networking in general, TCP/IP, Switches, Routers and DNS (as always) are amongst some of the things you will have to bring to the table yourself. These you won't necessarily learn from any of the documentation Apple provide.
Finally you will have to become somewhat familiar with the command line at some level:

  • Getting started in Web Forms development.

    Hi There,
I hope this is the correct form to be posting in.
Ok, I would like to get into developing Oracle web forms.. I'm not really sure if thats the correct name. Below is an image of exactly what I want to develop. It is loaded up through a Java applet in the web browser but then loads up into a seperate window.
    http://www.excel4apps.com/oracle/downloads/glwand/3.90/user_guide/images/image198.jpg
Somebody told me that I need to setup a database server along with an application server for the forms.
I've been on the Oracle download site but to be honest there is a lot of stuff on there and I don't know where to start..
I'd appreciate any advice on what is needed to get started and any tutorials people might be aware of. Can I start into this type of development free of charge or will I need to buy some licences for some of the software?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Conor

Generally this error should not stop server. Carefully check the server startup log and see if there are other errors as well. Post them here. You may consider mailing your server startup log to my id.

  • What software do I need to get started with GIS development

Hello, I'm a Oracle RDBMS specialist but interested in getting into GIS development. I want to set up a local environment and play around with it. Could someone advise me as to what software I need to install/download? Is all of it free?
1.) I'm assumming I need ORACLE with SPATIAL (was looking into 10g) Is this download free?
2.) I also looked into MAP VIEWER as an extension of the Oracle Application Server.
Are these 2 products all I need to get started?
I also read alot about arcGIS? Can this product be downloaded for free or is it a licensed product?
Does anyone have any other suggestions about some software/documentation that may help me get started in this technology.
    Thanks,

    Hello!!
Actually, you need Oracle Spatial or Oracle Locator. Oracle Locator is free on Oracle Express, and you could start with it. Otherwise, if you want to know more, Oracle Spatial comes with Oracle Enterprise, and Oracle 10g gives you a schema that allow you to store, manage and query spatial data through Oracle functions, etc.
To start using MapViewer, considering that you already have some spatial data stored on the database, you could download the MapViewer kit at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/spatial/index.html.
You could buy the Pro Oracle Spatial book. It´s very good.
    Good Luck!

  • New to CF: What do I need to get started to update a website developed in CF?

Hi. I have been asked to update a website that was developed in Coldfusion and I am not sure how to get started. I'm very familiar with HTML and I've been studying CFML. What I need to know now is how to get started. The website is not live yet and I need to make some changes to the content. I have Dreamweaver and I know I can download Coldfusion. Can someone please explain to me what needs to be done next? After I download CF then what? How do I make changes and save them on a site that isn't live yet? Do I need to go live with the site before I make changes? Is it possible to connect to a ftp server of a site that's not live yet? The site has a domain name that's registered.

    BagelBites wrote:
How do I get my changes to appear on a site that has already been developed but hasn't gone live yet?
Publish your changes to that site.
How you do that depends on what connection types you have to that site.  This might be done with FTP, WebDAV, Network File access or other methods.
How you view the changed content will also depend on what you mean by 'gone live'.  Is there a Domain name that points to the content?  Do you know the IP address?  Is there some temporary Domain Name?  I have used all these methods and others in the past, depending on what I was working and how it was being hosted.
These questions are most likely more definitively answered by talking to the system operators of whom ever is maintaining this web server for you.  If this is a hosting company, they may have common answers to these types of questions in a FAQ or other documentation.  If not, directing the questions at their customer support channels should yield appropriate results.
If this is not true, then my strongest suggestion would be to find a better hosting solution!

    Hi,
What is that you are trying to accomplish ? Is it deployment or
trying to develop applications ? Are you getting any errors ? If so,
please post them to help you. I think the documentation is the best place
    for you to begin with.

  • General questions to get started with virtualization server cluster.

Hello all, this is my first time posting here in the tech net forums. I am a software development student and have been spending most of my time lately in Linux.  First I would like to apologize if I am at all not complying with the forum ethics or
protocol based on the fact that I am rushing to get this post in and wasn't able to do as much reading as I would normally like before posting. If my questions seem to be to noobish feel free to just tell me so.  That being said, I would appreciate some
help. My systems have been down now for the better part of a month with trying to figure out, not how to configure the system I want, but rather to find a system to configure and be able to stick with it without running into issues that make me start researching
    a whole new system.
So for a quick explanation of what I am trying to accomplish:
I am looking to utilize the equipment I have, and put together a small virtual machine host.  The last few weeks I was working on building a Proxmox cluster which overall seemed to be pretty close to what I want, however the compatibility just isn't
there yet in my eyes for a home use server.  I am trying to take basically the 5 or 6 PCs that I have already built, and configure them into a cluster that will be able to hopefully utilize as much system resource as possible.  From what I have learned
in recent, this is referred to as a Beowulf cluster, or just a virtualization cluster.  So ideally I want to combine the 5-6 processors to form one "super computer" that will serve as nothing but a virtual machine host.  I am sorry if I
am using the wrong terms for any of this but like I said, I am just trying to figure it all out still.  What is the best Microsoft OS to use to do this?  I am currently looking at either Server 2012 R2, but I have also looked briefly into Systems
Center 2012 R2 and really like the look of this.  This is just for my personal use.  The reason I am looking to do this is that I currently use many different OSs and have many different tasks that require different configurations.  The bulk
of the work I am doing, coding, 3D rendering, video editing, a lot of Autodesk and Adobe work.  Then of course I would like to be able to do some gaming still but haven't even begun to research to feasibility of gaming on a VM because of course my main
priority is the work.  So is there a way that I can pull this off?  I am planning to start purchasing some server racks, like a 9 or 12U wall mount rack that I was planning on putting about 4 or 5 2U atx cases in.  Right now in my small office
I have 5 fully built atx towers and then multiple laptops and tablets and chrome books and bla blah!  It is just too much so I am looking for a way to consolidate.  Also, regarding the 3D rendering, if there is a way to utilize multiple processors
at once in this same config, that would be great.  I have again done some research on "render farms" which sounds similar to a Beowulf but I just need to focus in an area that I can research more thoroughly because right now I just keep jumping
around every time I think I have found a better solution.  Please help!  Thank you very much to anyone who takes the time to help me with this task.  It is very much appreciated!

  • After applying custom keystore in weblogic admin_server, server is not get started

    Hi All, (Thanks in advance)
I have a big problem now. I applied the SSL configuration to weblogic and OBIEE. It was working fine with Demo Keystore. After creating selfsigned keystore and applying to weblogic admin_server, the server get shutdown and now it is not starting. here is the log, I have checked the username/password many times. also I removed boot.properties file and it get generated again during startup.
I used the following commands to generate custome keystores.
$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/keytool -genkey -keyalg RSA -alias selfsigned -keystore identity.jks \
      -dname "CN=`hostname`, OU=My Department, O=My Company, L=Birmingham, ST=West Midlands, C=GB" \
      -storepass password1 -validity 3600 -keysize 2048 -keypass password1
    $JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/keytool -selfcert -v -alias selfsigned -keypass password1 -keystore identity.jks \
-storepass password1 -storetype jks -validity 3600
    $JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/keytool -export -v -alias selfsigned -file "`hostname`-rootCA.der" -keystore identity.jks \
      -storepass password1
    # Trust? yes
    $JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias selfsigned -file "`hostname`-rootCA.der" \
      -keystore trust.jks -storepass password1
