Developer Tool Forms retreiving data from a Mainframe system using MQSeries

I had a TAR posted to the Forms Group asking questions about data access using MQSeries and Oracle. That group suggested I ask my question to this group.
What I need to accomplish is the ability for a user to type in a Medicaid DCN number on a secure website which is produced using Forms and Reports 9i, have it send the request to a CICS sub-routine, and return data such as Name, DOB, address, in a string to be separated, displayed on the screen, and eventually saved to a Oracle database. The group had given me three things to think about:
1) Using Oracle Procedural Gateway to monitor for messages coming from MQSeries. Problem is that is requires additional licenses which we do not have.
2) Using Oracle Messaging Gateway to monitor for messages. It doesn't require additional licenses but does require an Enterprise Edition license and we are running Standard Edition.
3) Using Forms in conjunction with JAVA to accomplish the communication between the Web Form, MQSeries, and the Mainframe. I really don't know JAVA but I am wondering if I really need to know it. I am thinking I can make sure that the parameters that the CICS program is expecting is there then somehow call the sub-routine. There must then be data or information returned to me in a string to be brought into Forms to be separated and put to the screens to be saved eventually.
Question: How do we call a routine such as a CICS subroutine or a Webservice from Forms? Can I do so without products such as Oracle Messaging and Oracle Procedural Gateways to monitor for responses coming back from MQSeries?

I remember having this same problem a while back - except I
always got a 0 record count. I could get to the table, but not
access the data inside at all. I tried to find the post I had on
this forum but can't. Anyway... the problem is with Advantage 7.1
working with MX. Advantage released a hotfix in the form of a .dll
file (email me if you need it I'm sure I can find it on my
machine). However it was just a bandaid type fix because the
problem was addressed and corrected in the newer versions of
Advantage that were later released. If you upgrade Advantage your
problem should go away. The newest release is 8.1

Hi Dan,
Looking at your post - I decipher that you would be doing download from a lower version of SAP CRM system to SAP CRM 7 if this is the scenario then you have an advantage as you could employ standard SAP CRM middleware which is a powerful application to download master data from older version to new version, or else you could ALE the master data. Now this being the simple part we move on to the harder part of the migration which is transactional data - namely elements such as Number ranges, document flow, relationships, condition data tables .....etc if you are migrating this from lower SAP CRM version here you would have to understand the interlinking with R/3 or ECC6 in any case you would have to do a fresh implementations but on the whole there are some way outs for examples ; But still let me know how you intend to migrate and what are systems we are talking about.

Looking for SAP solution to extract data from the production system

Hello,
we are looking for the SAP standard tool to extract data from the production system and copy it to the development system. It should be as functional as some kind of partial client copy. The data, which we need to replicate is master and transactional data from FI, CO, AA MM and nice to have FS-RI modules. There is a product offered by the IntelliCorp called "Data Management" but we would like to know if SAP offers its own product.

Options for loading data from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC

Hello All,
I am new to SAP.
As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)
I know I am asking for lot of things here. But, I really appreciate any information reagrding this.

Discovery->Extract->Cleanse->Transform->Load
Discovery-> Involves identifying various source systems available where the actual data is residing.
Extract->Extract the data from the source systems(legacy systems)
Cleanse->Cleanse the data by enriching it,De-duplications etc
Transform->Transform the data into SAP Loadable format
Load->Upload the data into SAP Using the Load Programs(Eg,BDC,LSMW,Data Transfer Workbench,BAPIs etc)

How to retreive data from a maintainence view?

Hi all,
I have used select query to retreive data from a maintainence view. But it gave me a syntactical error that XYZ is not in abap dictionary , it's a database / projection view?
So can't we get data from a view using select query?
Please share if u have answers.

Hi,
Maintenance view will be created for database tables only.
Just display the maintainence from SE11 and click Tables tab in the screen
Here you can find the list of tables used to created for Maintainence view.
YOu can use these tables to write SELECT.
If you give us the maintainence table, we will help you.

Best tool to archive data from DW to external storage.

I want to archive the data of couple of tables in DW at regular interval to some external storage. This archived file will be loaded in relational table again for read only processing later when required. These table's data has got retention period so data gets deleted after retention period. The table is partitioned on ACTION_DATE column.
I don't have access to filesystem on DW servers so will prefer to avoid to store any file on filesystem.
We are using Oracle 10.2.
Following are three options I can think of:
1) Use exp / imp tools to get data from required tables. I will be running this script daily so I can take data of one partition only (feature supported by exp/imp). I will want to import data in DW to some other table (table with different name to original table but same schema) when required sometime later for processing because of retention period issue. But imp do not support this option. Or at least I do not know of any .
2) Use expdb/impdb tools. It will help as it is faster to exp/imp and also it has REMAP_TABLE feature which can help me to load data in table with different name. But the problem with this approach is impdb/expdb requires/stores file on server (in this case DW servers ). As mentioned I am not preferring for this solution. If we have a convenient way to get the data on client side and put back on server when impdb has to be executed this option can be used. Or some other approach using expdb/impdb tools.
3) Use spool /sqlloader. Haven't explored a lot about this option yet. But am concerned about efficiency of this solution. Also the complexity of implementation with this approach. Spool will give required data in csv format and it will be loaded later using sqlloader.
Please help me with selecting an approach here. Also if anyone has a better solution for the above problem please do mention about the same.

If all the photos etc. are on your iPhone, you can back them up after you get your SSD going. If there is more in the backup on your failing HD, you can try copying it manually.

In Internet Recovery you are given options -- to erase the hd or ssd and install Mavericks, or restore from Time Machine.
Before you do it you should make a note of your Superduper registration number in case you have to download it again.

You can automate Acrobat using IAC (InterApplication Communications), as documented in the Acrobat SDK. Your program could loop through a collection of PDFs, load them in Acrobat, extract the form data from each, and generate a CSV file that contains the data.
Acrobat can also do this with its "Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet" function, but this is a manual process.

Adobe form getting data from BADI?

I have a webdynpro component which calls an Adobe form which gets data from BADI i.e. prepoulate the values after interacting with the BADI's.How to find the BADI's name ?how it triggers that particular BADI.where it is calling exit handler?

That's why we have debuggers. I suggest that you start debugging through the application and see what it is going on. I would find it difficult to see how the Form itself calls a BADI (since a BADI is an exit in ABAP coding). I would think that the BADI would be called via a service class of the Web Dynpro or the Web Dynpro is calling a function module to process the form. I would start back with the Web Dynpro and see how it is even initializing the form itself.

...but i suggest you the following
Go to Tcode SE71
Press F4.
Expand Payroll-> <Country>->Income Tax
Here U can get the Form name.
Try to see the tables and fields here and spot it any standard extractors ....if not availbale do generic

Querying Data from 3rd Party System

We would like to query data from a 3rd party (non-SAP) system. Our BW is an MSSQL DB and the 3rd party is also an MSSQL DB. We do not want to physically load the data from the external system we just want to use the BW query tools to display the data.
Is this possible? I thought this is what a Remote Cube would be used for but SAP's instructions on Remote Cubes are vague and confusing.
       1.      In BW, create a source system for the external system that you want to use.
       2.      Define the required InfoObjects.
       3.      Load the master data:
·        Create a master data InfoSource for each characteristic
·        Load texts and attributes
       4.      Define the RemoteCube
       5.      Define the queries based on the RemoteCube

SAP RemoteCube is an InfoProvider. This is a special RemoteCube that allows
you to define queries with direct access to transaction data in other SAP systems. SAP RemoteCubes are defined on the basis of an InfoSource with flexible updating, and assume the characteristics and key figures of the InfoSource.
Use/Data Flow
Unlike with other RemoteCubes, it is not necessary to program extractors. The
same extractors are used to select data in the source system that are also used when replicating data into the BW. When executing a query, each navigation step sends a request to the extractors for the assigned source systems. In addition, characteristics selection and selection criteria for these characteristics are transformed to fields in the transfer structure, in accordance with the transfer rules. They are transferred to the extractor in this form. The delivered datasets run through the transfer rules in BW and are filtered once again in the query.
In your case Remote cube can be an option .

How to exctract data from a report to use it in a process

Hi! I would like to know how to exctract data from a report to use it in a process. Let's say that I have a report which have following fields: id_person, name_person. And then, I want to make a process which introduce the id_person (from report) into an associative tabel. How can I reffer to the fields from my report?
I was thinking about something like that( this should be the code from my process)
insert into associative_table(id_person)
values(id_person) or
insert into associative_table(id_person)
values(Report_name.id_person) but it doesn't work....

Another option, use collections.
Create an on load process that loads all the rows you would have in your report into a collection:

Then, instead of your report selecting from the table, have it select from the collection, this way your display will match what's in the collection:

Extract work order data from r/3 system in flat file(csv)and export to BI

Hi,
I am new in interface.
I need to extract data regarding actual cost and quantities of work assigned to Service Providers from SAP system and send it to BI for reporting purposes.
This interface will extract Master data as well as transactional data. Extraction of Master data will be a full extract and that of transactional data will be Delta Extraction.
Custom development will extract the data from different fields and will export it to flat files (CSV format). This program will amalgamate all the flat files created into one big file and export it to BI system.
Export of data to BI system will be done by schedule program Control M, which will export the data from SAP system to BI system in batches. Control M is expected to run daily at night.
Please provide the step-by-step proces to do this.

you've got to set up the message type MDMRECEIPT for the Idoc distribution from R/3 to XI. Check chapter 5.2 in the IT configuration guide available on <a href="http://service.sap.com/installmdm">MDM Documentation Center</a>. It describes the necessary steps.
