Developing mobile application (SAP Ui5) using UWL API

Hi,
I need to develop a mobile application using sap ui 5 which will fetch the work items from the logged in user's id and when the user clicks on the workitem another custom page should open which will have the details of the task selected.The entire applications needs to be accessed from a smart phone.
Basically I will be using a hybrid web container for this purpose.
Do you have sample code or informtaion in this regard.

Use UWL API in a Servet and access the servlet via URL

Hi All,
Actually I want to write a servlet from which I will access the uwl items using UWL APIs. And then I will submit HTTP Request to this servlet via url and want to get the UWL items in response. Is it Possible. I know that it is possible to access uwl items from JSPDynpage but is it possible to use it via servlet. If possible please give me some idea. what are the prerequisite.

I am learning how to develop mobile applications in Jdeveloper environment. I have been searching a lot in google but unable to come to a conclusion on the way in which I could get this.
Kindly post some links where I can get some documents on this and I need to develop a mobile application which should be able to render in almost all the mobile platfoms so far I have gone through

Fetching Tasks Using UWL API

Hello Experts,
Currently we are in the process of retrieving the task items assigned to the logged in User in Portal...We are using UWL API for the same. The problem is that when we create a task through the my Tasks Link in Collaboration, the created task is not getting retrieved.
Please let us know what could be the reason for this....

What was the resolution for your issue?
I am also using the UWL API to retrieve items. When I clear the UWL cache, the API reports 0 items even if I have some, however, if I load the UWL page, the API starts to report the correct number of UWL items. I have tried the functions getItems() and refreshCacheAndGetItems(), but neither seem to work after clearing the UWL cache.

this reply is based on what I know,
for mobile I use : Sun's Wireless toolkit , netbeans with mobility pack (best acc ording to me).
for secure data communication: you can use secure server and client sockets, by which you can make your files and documents travel securely between client and server in encrypted form using the personal and public keys.

Developing Mobile Applications for Handhold Wireless Dervices

I am new in this technology and i would like someone to guide me.
I have a project with the following requirements:
--The first task of the application is the user can add some data, for example name, address etc and then to save them in a database which will be running on the mobile device.
--The second step is the user to be able to send the data and save them in an other database on a server machine.
i will use J2ME in order to build the application.
What i would like to know is what technologies i can use for the database of the mobile device where the user will store for the first time his data.
What kind of communication between the mobile device and the server will be the most appropriate (eg bluetooth).
Generally i would like from someone to give me general information about the topic. To guide me.
Please if you know any book that has most of the answers which i am looking or some semilar examples for please let me know.

In my research i could not figure out whether this also applies to the laptop client.

I'm new to SAP and MI but just started as a trainee.
I've been trying to search for information on how to get a development environment up and running, but I can't seem to find any clear info on it.
I've downloaded the Mobile Development Kit 2.5 from SDN but it seems to be only documentation and examples.
What do I need to download to start developing Java programs for handheld devices and test them?
What do I need to upload those programs to my mobile device? and which mobile devices are supported?
Can I install any JVM on my handheld or does it have to be a SAP JVM?

Hi Jacob,
this depends on what you want to develop. Standalone apps with a replication logic into R/3 via a Middleware. Or do you want to use the Mobile-engine and some standard apps that SAP provides. I recommend to start with some standard apps, such as MAM or CRM to understand the logic of our middleware the persistence layer and the syncBOs.
So have a look at the coding examples and get a Mobile engine on your PC. You can run this with a standard JVM 1.3.1_X. The ME deploys a local http server using TOmcat as servlet container. The rest is understanding controller, context and the ME logic.

Reg: Mobile application development setup

I am new to the SAP NetWeaver platform. We are working on SAP NW - MI application development. For this, I am trying to prepare Development setup.
On Windows 2003 machine, I installed Java EE ServerDB2NWDS (provided in SAP TechEd DVD)
Above this, I am trying to install MDK 2.5 (downlaoded from SDN site).
Here comes the problem.
I just unzipped the MDK2.5.zip and placed the "features" and "plugins" in the NWDS's eclipse setup folder. When I try to configure MDK, it asks for a "MI Home folder" path.
To which it says, we will be providing it while installing "Mobile Infrastructure". I don't know what this is ?
Is Java EE ServerDB2NWDS+MDK2.5 not sufficient for developing Mobile applications?
Do we have to install any "Mobile Infrastructure" ? Where is it available ?
What more do we need to install to develop mobile applications ?
Please help me....I am confused.....Also any link with the information related to Mobile application development installations and configurations would be of great help.

Yes, you have to install the MI client and map the installation folder SAP Mobile Infrastructure to the "MI Home folder" path.
You will find the client installation in sap marketplace for SP16 the file name is NWMCLIENT16_0-10002889.sca
