Development client for IDES 6.0

Hi All,
I have installed SAP IDES 6.0 on my machine.Is there any need to create new client 150 for the purpose of new development and customization??? OR can i go with client 800??? what is the default user and password for client 800??? Please help me.

Hi,
As Eric said, IDES is not meant for developments for productive use. Make sure that u have ur own ECC development server for developments/customization.
You can login to client 800 with the user IDADMIN and password ides.

I am trying to figure out what exactly I need to develop using CMSDK against the CMSDK server on a separate server. I have installed Oracle 9i jDeveloper, the Oracle 9i Database Client and the cmsdk.jar shipped with the CMSDK install on our AIX server. I am able to compile all sample programs but for some reason I do not seem to be able to connect to the CMSDK server. Using the exact same call on the AIX machine (java oracle.ifs.examples.api.DocumentSample jellema10 temp1 ifs://tstifc1.myhost.nl:1521:iasdb.tstifc1.myhost.nl:CM_SDK_TSTIFC1 iasadmin1) I am able to successfully create a LibraryService and Connection to the CMSDK server. On my NT Client however it complains about an invalid domain format (
When I try to install CMSDK 9.0.3 for NT locally on my development machine, it fails telling me Oracle 9iASR2 should be installed. But I do not want to use my PC as CMSDK Server, just as Client for Development activities. Can someone tell me exactly what I should install on my client to get even the simplest shipped sample to work? Does it require a 9iASR2 install on such a client?
Can I simply copy the files from the AIX CMSDK install - if so, which files? Are there any protocol servers or special processes that need to run on the CMSDK Server for my client to connect? (note: the ftp server runs and can be contacted from my client).

Request is not created for in the development client

Our MM Consultant is add the new plant in the development client in the T-code SPRO (logistic general- tax and goods movements - india - basic settings - maintain plant settings)and he need to create the request for the same to transport that to the quality client for the testing purpose. but he is unable to create the request. there in the screen it is showing that the data is saved but it need to ask to create the request... please to the needful
i had checked the scc4 client setting that and all is fine

In case you can't fix it/find out open an OSS call. Very difficult to suggest something without having system access.

My question was meant to determine whether you had any CPU licenses. In retrospect, it doesn't matter.
You cannot use your Production licenses on your Dev system without violating your contractual obligations with SAP. i.e. both system cannot run in parallel using the same license keys.
You might be able to use the quarterly Test licenses that SAP makes available without violating your contract. I am uncertain of the terms of the test licenses.
You should probably talk to your Account Manager on this.

Multiple clients in Developement system for Charm

Hi Solman experts,
We are planning for the Charm implementation and we have multiple clients in Developement system.
Major hurdle is how to keep all the development clients in sync.
we have following clients
100 Golden client
300 configuration client
400 ABAP Developement client
500 Unit test
600 HR1
700 HR 2 clients
All configurations will be made in Client 300 and transported to QA and all developements will be made in client 400
Transports released from 300 and 400 should go all other clients.
Solman experts could anyone advice whether this is can be done using charm.

Developer client 11g will be available for Windows 7 64-bit or never ever?

Does Oracle or any user knows developer client 11g will be available on Windows 7 64-bit? If yes, when?
We are in OAS 11g Web Logic however I have to continue using developer 10g on Windows XP. Really awkward.

Developer Suite 11g does not exist as it was for 10gR2/10gR1 but you can create your own Report Developer 11g environment.

Is there really a Cisco VPN client for Linux? _Really?_

Hello folks,
        I've finally after almost experiencing a brain aneurysm by trying to think too hard got my Cisco 881-SEC-K9 router properly configured for a multipoint IPSec VPN tunnel to my Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, so that hurdle is finally passed and I actually feel it was a very important milestone in my life somehow. I never thought I'd see the day I actually got my hands on a legitimate Cisco non-stink... erm.. I mean, non-linksys router. Now I just can't seem to find a 'client' VPN program for Linux. I'm currently running a Xen Hypervisor environment on openSUSE Linux because it's the only Linux distribution that completes all of my strenous requirements in a Linux server environment. It's also the most mature, and secure Linux on this planet, making it the most appreciable Linux distribution for my research needs. Using NetworkManager is not really an option for a basic Linux server environment, and OpenVPN is just too confusing to comprehend for my tiny little head. I've heard mention of some mysterious "Easy VPN" but after hours of digging online can't find any information about it, even the Cisco download link leads to a Page Not Found error. I do see a Linux VPN API for the AnyConnect program, but is that an actual VPN client, or just an API? It seems to want my money to download it but I don't have any money nor do I really know what it is because it's all secretive-like, closed source, and I can't even find a simple README file on it explaining what it is exactly. I'm just an out-of-work software developer trying to connect to my home router for personal use and I can't really afford to fork over a million and a half dollars for a single program that I'm only going to need to download once in my lifetime that should have been included with the router in the first place. I more than likely won't even be able to figure out how to use the program anyways because I don't know anything about VPN connections which is why I bought this router so I can try to figure it all out as part of the not-for-profit open source, volunteer research I'm presently trying to conduct. Is there some kind of evaluation or trial period for personal use? That would be really nice so I could at least figure out if I'm going to be able to figure it out or not. I hate throwing money away when it's in such short supply these days. There's really no alternative to a Cisco router. It's an absolute necessity for the things I'm trying to accomplish, so trying to settle for something else and going on with my life is not really an option. No, this is something I just need to face head on and get it over with.

       Maybe I have a little too much crazy in me for my own good, but I don't see why it should take so much money just to learn how to do something for personal reference, it's not really a skill I would ever use otherwise. Wouldn't it be great if Cisco made their VPN client open source and free to the public to use and modify, to improve on, to learn and to grow and bring the whole world closer together as a community? Even the source code to the old discontinued Cisco VPN client could be used as a valuable learning tool for some poor starving college student or Open Source Software developer somewhere trying to get by on Ramen Noodles and Ramen Noodle Sauce on Toast (don't tell me you never thought about it). Through the ripple effect, It would drastically improve sales over the course of time, because it would open the door to a whole new market where those who previously could not afford to participate now could. That's the true power of Open Source. It creates a more skilled work force for the future by openly contributing and sharing knowledge together. What if the next big internet technology and the solution to world tyranny - the solution to end all wars forever - were locked in the mind of an unemployed software developer who couldn't afford to upgrade their cisco router software or access the software they needed because it was closed source and required committing to an expensive service contract to download? That would be just terrible, wouldn't it? I guess there's no way to ever know for sure. I suppose I'd be just as happy if some kind soul out there could point me to an easy to use alternative to an always on VPN connection that runs in the background which doesn't require NetworkManager or having to spend days upon days digging through and trying to comprehend either some really poor or extremely complex documentation? I apologize for all the run on sentences posed as questions, but I've just got some serious mental burnout from all of this, being unemployed is some hard work folks. I could really use a vacation. Perhaps a camping trip to the coast is in order after I get this working, that sounds nice, doesn't it? Nothing like a good summer thunder storm on the ocean beach - far away from technology - to refresh the mind.

I think vpnc might be just what I've been looking for, unless someone can think of a client for Linux that I might be able to throw a little further. I'm very security minded now, after the backlash of Blackhat 2013, there's no telling which direction the internet might head next. Oh, you didn't hear? Well wether they realize it or not, DARPA basically declared war with other government agencies by releasing their own version of a spy program for civilians to use against the whoever -- possibly even the governmnet itself. They even went so far as to suggest it's private usage to blanket entire cities in information gathering. Civilians are a powerful foe, as they are not bound by the oath of office, any evidence they obtain is admissible in court, wether they know that or not. There's a very important reason for that. It's to prevent another civil war from ever happening, we shed enough blood the first time around less people forgot. It's something that can and will be avoided because our civilization has advanced beyond the need for bloodshed. The courts have to obey the majority rule, no matter what. For the first time in history, cyberwarfare can reach into the physical world to cause serious damage to physical structures like the nuclear facility incident in Iran. There's scarry bills trying to sneak through congress that are changing the landscape of technology forever for the entire world. We're at a pivotal point now where things can happen. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out over the next decade or so. No matter which way you look at it, just be preparerd to sell a whole lot of routers.

Webservice Client for PI 7.1?

I've created successfully a stand-alone WS Client with Netweaver DevStudio for our PI 7.0 system. I use the client to trigger a scenario running over the SOAP adapter. I programmed the client according to the directions in help.sap.com and everything ran fine.
Next my team installed a PI 7.1 system and I tried to create a new client for this system. I followed the same procedure and was surprised to get the following error when running the new client:

Actually this is the default behavior of SOAP adapter to ask for the PIAPPLUSER. So if u will disable the authentication (through visual admin) then it will be applicable to all soap sender channels.
You can try the following in a test/dev-system: Extract the SOAP-adapters WAR-file from the corresponding sda. Then extract the deployment-descriptor from the war-file and delete there the related security-constraint, login-config and security-role sections (makes absolutely sense to save the original descriptor beforehand). ZIP the files again with the new deployment descriptor and deploy the SDA via SDM.

Two ABAP Development Clients with Transport enabled in Development System

Hello All,
I have a unique situation in my development systems. We currently have two abap development clients with client settings which allows repository transports to be created. The reason for this setup is because there are two different abap development teams who want to work independently.
Has anyone see two development clients in development system? Do you see any risk with having two abap development clients with transport enbaled? Should I force them to work in ONLY ONE ABAP development client?
I would like to know your thoughts?

It may not a good idea to have two development clients. You have to manage with the following issues:
(1) Customizing transports need to be moved to two clients
(2) You may have to peridically sync. them between each other with all the development objects
(3) Data needs to refreshed in two clients for development/unit test purposes
(4) Same object may be edited in two clients independently at the same time which is likely to go to Production at different times resulting in version sequencing issues
(5) Vension of data of object will be lost if you want to retrieve old version.

I'm new to Web Services (but not Java in general). Just looking for some pointers to get me started in the right direction.
My pressing need is to develop a Java client for a set of Web Services described through a WSDL.
I've found the "Chapter 12: Building Web Services With JAX-RPC" section of the Web Services Tutorial. Could someone just confirm that this is the right tutorial for me to read for my puropse.
Also I was wondering about available tools for this purpose.
I was expecting that there would be a tool that could read a WSDL and generate client side stubs for it automatically. (Like how you can take a Remote interface and rmic it in RMI). Is there such a thing? Is it possible?
Preferably an open source (free) tool. I use the Netbeans IDE so if anyone knows of anything that integrates with that, all the better. I had a look at their site but couldn't see anything.

Cisco Jabber Client for Linux

Are there any plans to have a Cisco Jabber client on linux?

The larger body of use case and development for Jabber has centered on Windows and mobile iOS and Android devices. That's not to say that there isn't a contingency of customers that want a Linux client but, as of today, there is no "Jabber" client for that platform. However, I've heard this question asked in a few different forums and the answer thus far has typically been one or both of the following:
1) There is a Jabber SDK, which could potentially be used to custom develop an application.
2) Use 3rd-party XMPP client (e.g. Pidgin)
As for an official answer on "will there be in the future" with a yes/no/maybe and/or a possible timeframe, you would need to reach out to Cisco or your trusted partner as roadmap items cannot be discussed without having a non-disclosure agreement in place. That's what Jamie is getting at in his response.

I had the developer preview installed. Never had to update to the release version of the OS. Now, the preview has expired, and I cannot use my phone because my iTunes reads my OS as being current, but my iPhone cannot active. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

If I Google for Michael Superczynski, first match tells "Michael Superczynski's Profile : Apple Support Communities". It in fact does a lot of work there even if not paid.
And yes we do not have disagreement about "official apple developers". Problem is that Apple screwed our devices because we are "official apple developers" and did effort to stop us getting proper help. I unbricked my ipad and iphone thanks to unofficial help. Thank you who wrote this unofficial help and "no thanks" for apple for ruining my access to my devices. My mistake was assuming that "update" button on my devices works. It did not because it always told "Your device has latest IOS6 installed" until it bricked yesterday.
If Apple does not want to listen us, continue do delete post, blame us installing your software and yes we stop buying your devices and developing for them.

Looking for ideas for transferring large amounts of data between systems

I am looking for ideas based on best practices for transferring Large Amounts of Data in and out of a Netweaver based application.
We have a new system we are developing in Netweaver that will utilize both the Java and ABAP stack, and will require integration with other SAP and 3rd Party Systems. It is a standalone product that doesn't share any form of data store with other systems.
We need to be able to support 10s of millions of records of tabular data coming in and out of our system.
Since we need to integrate with so many different systems, we are planning to use RFC for our primary interface in and out of the system. As it turns out RFC is not good at dealing with this large amount of data being pushed through a single call.
We have considered a number of possible ideas, however we are not very happy with any of them. I would like to see what the community has done in the past to solve problems like this as well as how SAP currently solves this problem in other applications like XI, BI, ERP, etc.

Transporting an object from testing client to development client

I need to setup a development environment for oracle 10g r2 forms development. I am a new to oracle and due to downsizing we lost our DBAs so I am on my own and need your huge support.........

* Does our oracle server needs any application server (weblogic) installed or just OC4j can work on the server to run forms production? *For running 10G forms in production you will need an OAS (Oracle Application server 10.1.2), not a WebLogic-server.
As an alternative to 10G, you could also start directly using Forms11G, which is the latest release. In this case you need a WebLogic-Server 11-installation both for development as also for production.
