Dialog 'Save As', 'Print' return value

Hello,
is it possible to get return value of these dialog boxes? I create forms in Adobe Livecycle ES2 and from xfa.host.messageBox I can get 4 values to each answer.
Thanks you.

Have you looked at the Scripting Reference under Help for LiveCycle?
Either of these scripts should work:
var nReturn = xfa.host.messageBox("Hello World!", "My Message", 2, 3);
xfa.host.messageBox(Concat("Retruned value: ", nReturn), "My Message", 3);
xfa.host.messageBox(Concat("Retruned value: ", xfa.host.messageBox("Hello World!", "My Message", 2, 3)), "My Message", 3);

  • How to call a dialog program with return value in another dialog program

    Dear All,
    How can I call a dialog program with return value from another dialog program?
    Regards,
    Alok.

    Hi Alok,
    You can you SET/GET parameters to do this.
    This is some information about this.
    To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
    ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETERstatements.
    To fill one, use:
    SET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement saves the contents of field f under the ID pid in the SAP memory. The ID pid can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under pid, this statement overwrites it. If you double-click pid in the ABAP Editor, parameters that do not exist can be created as a Repository object.
    To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
    GET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement places the value stored under the pid ID into the variable f. If the system does not find any value for pid in the SAP memory, sy-subrc is set to 4. Otherwise, it sets the value to 0.

  • Handling the return values and passing values to a dialog

    Dear all,
    I am trying to return values from a dialog to a page.
    I am following a tutorial:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/adfdialog/index.html
    its okey, but I couldnt understand the following code:
    public void handleReturn(ReturnEvent event)
    if (event.getReturnValue() != null)
    Customer cst;
    String name;
    String psw;
    cst = (Customer)event.getReturnValue();
    CustomerList.getCustomers().add(cst);
    name = cst.getFirstName();
    psw = cst.getPassword();
    inputText1.setSubmittedValue(null);
    inputText1.setValue(name);
    inputText2.setSubmittedValue(null);
    inputText2.setValue(psw);
    please help me what are these variables?
    that I could be able to map with me own.
    Regards:
    Muhammad Nadeem

    If you look further down on the tutorial, you will notice that these values are set in the dialog done() and cancel() actionListeners. Similarly, you will return your own object(s) when calling returnFromProcess() - see the done() method.

  • [ASK] popup return value only able to be displayed in disabled inputtext

    Hi,
    I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.
    I have an inputtext and a commandbutton that triggers its value by selecting it from a popup window.
    The problem is the inputtext will be able to display the returned value only when its "disabled" attribute
    set to true. I need this inputtext to be enabled. Am i doing something wrong?
    This is what I'm doing:

    <af:selectInputText required="true" columns="#{bindings.GlCode.displayWidth}"

                                            returnListener="#{productBean.handleGlCodeReturn}"/>What do I should put in the "value" attribute? I've tried #{bindings.GlCode.inputValue} but if I do that then the selectinputtext will displayed in zero length (just a small vertical grey line) and with no such that green flash light image on the right. Because the main page is an add new form, so for the first time all the input is blank.
    This is the handling method in the add-new-page back bean:
        public void handleGlCodeReturn(ReturnEvent returnEvent) {
            GlCodePopUpBean glCodeBean = (GlCodePopUpBean)returnEvent.getReturnValue();
            if(glCodeBean == null)return;

             String glCode = glCodeBean.getGlCode();
             getSelInputTextGlCode().setValue(glCode);
             getSelInputTextGlCode().setSubmittedValue(null);
             ((AttributeBinding)getBindings().getControlBinding("ParamGlCodeId")).setInputValue(glCodeId);
             AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
             afContext.addPartialTarget(getSelInputTextGlCode());
        }I've printed out glCodeId, glCode and getSelInputTextGlCode().getValue() after the setter lines, and all of them printed the right value, but it just not displayed in the inputtext!
    I've also tried using processScope - #{processScope.glCode} - and it also failed in displaying the value in the inputtext.
    I wonder what's wrong?

    I am working in Sqlserver 2008 R2, SSIS 64 bit version
    I am getting the below  error while scheduling the job in the development server  Database.
    The return value was unknown.  The process exit code was -1073741819.  The step failed.
    The SSIS front end execution runs fine.
    Have anyone  faced this issue before?

    Hi Venkat,
    If you already changed to 64bit and still doesn't work then create proxy account..
    To create a proxy account
    In Object Explorer, expand a server.
    Expand SQL Server Agent.
    Right-click Proxies and select New Proxy.
    On the General page of the New Proxy Account dialog, specify the proxy name, credential name, and
    description for the new proxy. Note that you must create a credential first before you create a proxy if one is not already available. For more information about creating a credential, see How
    to: Create a Credential (SQL Server Management Studio) or CREATE CREDENTIAL (Transact-SQL).
    Check the appropriate subsystem for this proxy.
    On the Principals page, add or remove logins or roles to grant or remove access to the proxy account.
    Thanks

  • Trying to write an if statement around the return value of a CANCEL_OPTION

    I am writing a program that takes an input String using JOptionPane. The String can be made of only letters of the A-Z alphabet and the space character. I have written an error-checking loop that will pop another input box up along with an error message if any invalid character is detected. The input box has an 'ok' button and a 'cancel' button. As it is, if you hit cancel, the program crashes and you get a NullPointerException. All I want to do is place an if statement inside of the error-checking loop, immediatly after the code to pop up the second input box, that simply does System.exit() and exits the program correctly(rather than crashing) if 'cancel' is clicked.
    My attempt at such an if statement is visible in the following code(letter is a boolean variable defined earlier, and message is the input String that has already been read in):
                   letter = isValidMessage(message);
              while(!letter)
                   message = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Message must contain only A-Z, a-z, or space character...");
                            if(JOptionPane.CANCEL_OPTION > 0  //or ==0 or ==1 or ==2, nothing works//)
                                JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "No valid message entered - program will terminate...");
                                System.exit(JOptionPane.CANCEL_OPTION);
                   letter = isValidMessage(message);
                    }The if statement doesn't work correctly. If you click 'cancel' when the input box comes up, the program does terminate as it is supposed to. The problem is that if I type something in the box and click 'ok', it also causes the program to terminate rather than continuing. I've tried changing the > to ==. I've tried changing 0 to 1 to 2 to -1(I really am not sure which int return value of CANCEL_OPTION corresponds to which event). I think once I got to do the exact opposite...that is to say, it would continue on with the program whether I clicked 'cancel' or 'ok'. Which is equally bad. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
    It's probably something simple that I'm just overlooking.

    Well, here's what CANCEL_OPTION is, according to the JOptionPane class:
    /** Return value from class method if CANCEL is chosen. */
        public static final int         CANCEL_OPTION = 2;However, I believe you're going about this in the wrong way.
    With JOptionPane, whenever you show a dialog, it usually returns whatever OPTION the user chose.
    For instance,
        int choice = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(parentComponent, "hello");That will bring up a dialog centered on parentComponent, with a message of "hello".
    It will have the default options (YES_NO_OPTION).
    What it returns is the option the user chose.
    There are 4 possible things it can return:
    YES_OPTION, when user clicks "Yes"
    NO_OPTION, when user clicks "No"
    ERROR_OPTION, when an unforseen error occurs and the dialog closes
    CANCEL_OPTION, when the user clicks "Cancel" (if that OPTION type were being used), or if they close the dialog
    So this is how you would check for CANCEL_OPTION:
        int choice = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(parentComponent, "hello");
        if (choice == JOptionPane.CANCEL_OPTION) {
            // User cancelled
        else if (choice == JOptionPane.YES_OPTION) {
            // User chose yes
        // EtcSo you see, going about it like this:
    if(JOptionPane.CANCEL_OPTION > 0  //or ==0 or ==1 or ==2, nothing works//)Is really the wrong way, because you're not checking what the user DID, but just what the constant variable "CANCEL_OPTION" is.
    However, it seems as if you're in a unique situation where you don't want the OPTION chosen by the user, but an input String.
    This is all well and good, but I think this limits how you can interact with the user, as the "showInputDialog" methods return the String the user input- not the OPTION they chose, and you need to use both.
    What I've done in the past is created a simple JPanel with its own JTextField.
    I pass the JPanel in as the "message" parameter of a showConfirmDialog call, and get both the user input and their chosen OPTION based off a getText call to the JTextField and the OPTION constant returned by showConfirmDialog.
    Basically,
    JPanel promptPanel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
    JTextField promptField = new JTextField();
    promptPanel.add(promptField, BorderLayout.CENTER);
    int choice = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(parentComponent, promptPanel, "Input", JOptionPane.OK_CANCEL_OPTION, JOptionPane.QUESTION_MESSAGE);
    if (choice == JOptionPane.OK_OPTION) {
       // User chose OK, see if invalid characters were entered
       String input = promptField.getText();
    else if (choice == JOptionPane.CANCEL_OPTION) {
       // User cancelled
    }Hope that helps.
    (note that I'm unsure if showConfirmDialog can accept OK_CANCEL_OPTION as its OPTION parameter, as it says only YES_NO_OPTION and YES_NO_CANCEL_OPTION can be used, but I seem to remember using it in the past. if OK_CANCEL_OPTION doesn't want to work, then use one of the other two and adjust your if statements accordingly)
    Cheers!

  • Web Services  from ABAP function modules return values- leading zeros

    I am using several web services from SAP CRM (5.0) that were created from Function modules ( I am assuming that that they are in ABAP).
    I can call the web services fine and they work as expected, but I am seeing a lot of leading zeros in the return values of fields in tables from the Web service.
    The ABAP er’s are telling me that they cannot see the leading zero’s.
    So my question is where these are appended to the values in the whole process. When I execute the Function Module in SAP CRM from transaction SE37 I can see the leading zeros. So I think that this is something that has to be handled by the ABAP er’s and not in the client consuming the web service.
    Are the functions in SAP CRM that can remove leading zeros for fields in a table (that is an export parameter?)
    Jawahar

    Hello Jawahar
    If you run your (RFC-enabled) function modules using the SAP-GUI (i.e. in dialog) then the GUI automatically replaces leading zero when the function module returns any data. However, calling the same function module remotely you will always see these leading zeros.
    These so-called conversion exits are defined as attribute of domains in the ABAP dictionary. If the function module used for the WebService is a standard fm then you have little chances to get rid of the leading zero. Perhaps the WebService has some attribute to suppress conversion exits or activate them when retrieving the data.

    Dear vivek,
    how is your work are structure - is it only with single field ?
    In your script after the each value give an extended line comman "=" which will take first and second values for print and after the second value give "line feed" or "carriage return"  command.
    Hope this solves your problem

  • How to set and save Custom Print Settings in Aperture?

    How to set and save Custom Print Settings in Aperture
    Hi,
    I am printing 12x18" images on 13x19" sheets. I find it difficult to enter the 13x19" dimensions because each value jumps to another random value when I move to enter the second dimension. For instance 13 jumps to, say, 8.5 as I type 19 into the second box. Same with the sheet dimensions.
    Also, when I finally get it all correctly, the margins don't set themselves automatically - which I would I expect.
    Then, even though I save the setting by clicking Save Setting at the gear below, next time I turn Aperture on, it's all gone.
    Any ideas? Thanks.
    Raphael

    For me, it is working with these settings, Raphael.
    Does your image have a 12x18" aspect ratio? You may want to crop it to the desired aspect ratio before printing.
    I can only test with Aperture 3.6 on Yosemite 10.1.

  • JDBC - how to handle insert that returns value (bind?)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to do an insert into a table in an Oracle database with an auto-incrementing primary key (using a trigger and sequence) and I need to retrieve the value after the insert. From SQL*Plus, I'd enter:
    var id number;
    INSERT INTO mytable (name) VALUES ('foo') RETURNING id into :id;
    whereupon if I do "print id", I get the value of the id field from the newly-inserted record.
    The big question is how to achieve the same thing using JDBC. I've been flailing around all morning trying to figure it out and suspect it has something to do with using a CallableStatement instead of a PreparedStatement, but all of the examples I've seen so far only deal with calling stored procedures instead of raw SQL, and they all omit the part where some variable is bound to the resultset.
    Assuming I want to have the Java variable (int? Integer()?) "newId" set to the value being returned by the SQL statement as "id" (or ":id"?), what do I need to do between getting the connection and looking at "newId" to see what the value returned by the statement is?
    ie,
    Connection conn = db.connect();
    int newId;
    // show me what I need to do here
    System.out.println("The id of the newly-inserted record is:");
    System.out.println(newId);Thanks!

    This is untested:
    use the executeUpdate() method from the Statement. The return value will be your result from the RETURNING id portion of your SQL statement, if not then you'll probably have to do a seperate select or/and explicit return to get the value back from SQL.

  • Problem loading images from a return value of a function

    hello, I write because I uin problem in loading images from a return value of a function.
    I created a database with a field "image" of type string, where I put the physical address of the image. I have written like this: {__DIR__ }foto.jpg
    Place the code, so you understand better
    function imageViewImage(): javafx.scene.image.Image {
    connetti();
    lass.forName(driverName);
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,"");
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    var richiesta:String = "SELECT image from viaggio WHERE id_viaggio=7";
    rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(richiesta);
    var result :String;
    rs1.next();
    risultato = rs1.getString("image");
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, result);
    var imagez = Image{
    url:"{result}";
    return imagez;
    The image is in the source code package
    First I connect to the database, run the query and I take the contents of the image.
    Can anyone help me?
    Is right to put in the database {__DIR__} foto.jpg or do I put only foto.jpg?

    Hello unkus_nob,
    I would rather suggest you to save only filename of that image like "foto.jpg" in database. And just concat it with the String variable containing "{__DIR__}".
    Actually the javafx compiler converts the {__DIR__} to the existing class directory path something like : "jar:file:/..../".
    var currentDir ="{__DIR__}";
    risultato = "{currentDir}{rs1.getString("immagine"})";
    var image = Image{
        url:risultato
    return image;--NARAYAN G.

    They already have your number and/or email address and maybe have sold it several times already to others as well. They also use number generators - software that will automatically create them - some work and some don't, they don't care, they send out millions and a few will fall for it and send them money. The only way to "hide" would be to change both and your password, but then it would happen again at some point.

  • Want to display from database but javaclas not returning values to servlets

    I am trying to view values stored in database using jsp, servlets and java class. Jsp is calling servlet and servlet calls java class file. and javaclass file retrieves data from database and sends it back to servlet. But my problem is servlet doesnt print the values.
    Here is my code
    This is the javaclass file.
