Dialog structure along with table maintenance

Hi All,
I need dialog structure along with table maintenance screen. Dialog structure should have nodes in it.
I have two table maintenance now. My dialog structure should have two nodes in that, if i click on first node my first table maintenance should get displayed. One more node under the first node should get displayed when i double click on any of the entries on the first table maintenance.
Path for the example screen like which my screen should look like,
ICLIMG --> Claims -->Business setting --> Correspondence --> Define cliam documents.

Hi,
If you have created a table maintenance..
You can use SM30..
Press maintain button..
In the menu..Table view -> transport...Then select the entries include them in the CR.
If the transport menu is not enabled..
Go to SE11..
In the table maintenance generator...Choose the radio button which says "Standard recording routine" and then save..
Now the transport menu option will be enabled..

How to swap column-data along with Table header

Hi All!
I found a smple JTableDemo.java class. When I run it it provided sorting on the table as well as Dragging Column-data along with Table header while swaping two columns-headers.
I designed my own table and apply some changes to TableModel. Afterwords it swaps Table-Headers only, but not their respective columns.
Can someone give me a clue for that, where the logical error may be?

surprised.. since you have asked, it must have some more tricky issue. Any way what i thought of it
in before insert on table2
simply insert into table1 (cr_id) values (:new.cr_id_id);
i assume that table1 pk does not generated through sequence
proposed insertion will not violate the uniqueness and create another record only in table1
what is thehidden agenda for not using simple before insert trigger as above.

I need to maintain data but delete them too. I can update and modify data but how can I delete them ?

ok, I found ..
I created an internal table to delete the content of my table ZXXX :
DATA : ws_zxxx TYPE zxxx OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
select * from zxxx into CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE ws_zxxx
DELETE zxxx from table ws_zxxx.
commit work.
it works !

Problem with table maintenance generator overview screen

I added a field in a custom table and then used table maintenance generator to regenerate the table maintenance screen.
I used 2 step to generate. The problem that I have is the field not displayed in the overview screen though it is visible in the single screen ( ie the second screen).
I am not sure where the problem is as the field is not visible at all in the table control of overview screen.
Please help me on this as to what could be the problem.

Usually it is enough to regenerate both screens and the modules, but sometimes it doesn't pick up all the changes. In that case just delete the maintenance dialog and recreate it. That should do it.

here my problem is table is genarated and stored under local object that time i m creating function group is zabc. afterwards i m storing my table in my development class that time it is not possible to change function group in table maintenance genarator plz help me any one knows.
what is the exact use of table maintenance generator i m using this for ztables and i m going to screen painter i m adjesting the fields.what is the exact use of it.

Hi,
1) You may delete the function group assignment and re-assign another one in change mode
2) The use of table maintenance generator is to provide users with a screen to maintain data in the table. If the data is not going to be populated by any users then there is no need for it. Transactions will automatically populate the data in the background
3) One can access the maintenance screen by going to SM30 or can assign your own transaction code to access it

Problem with table maintenance event

Hi Experts,
In the table maintenance event 05 for a ztable, I have written logic to validate if few key fields and non key fields are not initial.
If they are initial,need to throw an error message and it has to stay in the same screen.But right now it grays out the non key field.
Tried the combination of events 01 and 05 it grays out the key field.
Please let me know if there are any ways to achieve this without making modifications in the PBO or PAI of the ztable.

I have this exact problem, why is this thread 'closed'? Is there an answer provided somewhere?
I have found a topic which shows an information message, which claims that the data is not saved.
But it does save the data if you use an information message and blocks non-key fields when using an error message
so this problem is still open for me.
Does anybody have a solution?

Using user-defined transport recording routine with table maintenance view?

Hi,
I have a table that is maintained through a maintenance view. I need to record the changes to a dedicated transport object (not TABU) with my own recording routine instead of teh standard recording routine.Could someone tell me which/how the events can be used to achieve this?

I have changed TMG to choose the option - User defined routine. And I have created a new transport object in SOBJ for the table. Is this enough to record the object to the transport as the object i defined instead of TABU? Do I need to write some subroutine for any view event to achieve this? Do you mean to use the menu option to include the object to a request?
I have a bigger problem where this view is actually part of a view cluster. Even in that case is teh above steps enough?

Sending an Email from the app along with table data

Hi All,
I would like to send an email from my app. I tried to put in the field attachment SQL this query: select * from Table_Name where id = (select max(id) from Table_Name) but it did not work. It showed me this error:
1 error has occurred
Wrong number of columns selected in the SQL query. See Help of attribute for details.
I would like to send an email every time the user insert a row with that row in the email... How can I do that?

What I would suggest is the following:
Build an After Insert Trigger on the table in question. In this trigger build a string with ALL the columns that are being inserted into the table. Then you will need to build some local variable to submit your mail. You will send your e-mail via UTIL_SMTP mail, since you may NOT always being in an APEX application when the table is updated..

when iam tring to edit this custom table it says transport has been locked and not allowing me to change ..anybody know how to solve this issue ..

Hi,
In SE10 (or similar) you can lock or unlock a transport.
On the menu choose Request/Task -> Request -> Protect or Remove Protection, if the message is coming up with a transport that is not in you user id, check with the transport's owner.

You can edit this information editing Maintenance view following steps below:
- Transaction Se55
- Environment -> Modification -> Modification Screens
There you can edit this information and Add the right value.

Problem with table maintenance and screen

Hi,
I modified the screen for a maintenance view table and added new fields. I went to SE11 to add the new fields in the table and then to SE51 to change the layout. My problem is when I edit the new field that I added, a message(Data was saved) at the bottom of the screen will appear but the value that I put in the field is gone. When i checked the contents of the table, the values were not also updated. Please let me know if there are other things that I forgot to activate or change.

Its the other way.
First you modify the table to add new fields. Goto sm30, delete the already generated maintenance screens and then regenerate them.

Sql Except query to Display mismatched records along with Table names

I am using below query to display mismatch records between two tables
SELECT * FROM table1
EXCEPT
SELECT * FROM table2
UNION
SELECT * FROM table2
EXCEPT
SELECT * FROM table1
This displays mismatched records like below
Sunil 1000 india
Sunil 1500 india
I would like to display even the table names in the result For ex;
Sunil 1000 india Table1
Sunil 1500 india Table2

cnk_gr's query should work for you.
One change that I would make is to use UNION ALL, not UNION. UNION eliminates duplicate rows, which means SQL has to do additional work (sort the result and then check for duplicates).
So if you can have duplicates and don't want them in your result, then you would use UNION. And if you can have duplicates and you want the duplicates in the result, you would use UNION ALL. But in cases like this, where you know you cannot have
duplicates (because column 1 contains 'TABLE1' for every row in the first half and column 1 contains 'TABLE2' for every row returned from the second half of the query), you should always use UNION ALL. It will be more efficient.

What is maintenance type --> One step and two step - It refers to steps in creating a table value.
Ex: Two step will have two screens for creating a value.
What is Miant Screen no --> Overview screen and sinlge screen - It refers to screen nature.
Overview screen - While displaying table entries, all values will be displayed in a single screen.
sinlge screen - While displaying table entries, only single value is displayed.

How to validate data entered in table maintenance for Z table?

Hi,
I created a Z-table with table maintenance. I'd like to perform some validation on the entered data.
I know there are events for these : "If this pre-defined time is reached in extended table maintenance, the FORM routine specified for the current view and for this time is processed. This is useful, for example, for performing consistency checks before saving or specific actions when creating new entries."
I also found some info in the Online help:

However it's not clear which event I can use for validation.
I tried event 01, however when I added a message, in the SM30 in case of message, I got the SM30 initial screen.

Once you are on the table maintenance generator screen.
GOTO --> Enviornment --> Modification --> Events.
Here specify Event as '01' and the Subroutine name that will hold the data for the validation.
As you know we need to specify a function group.
GOTO SE80 and Open your function group.
Now in the PBO of the screen write a subroutine for the validation before saving an entry in the table.
Refer the code below for validation.
