Did RH 9.02 patch break something...???

Yesterday we upgraded to Version 9.0.2. Today my stylesheets don't work.
I rely very heavily on stylesheets because my company has two divisions with two separate brandings. Every day I have to import the same document to two separate projects, and apply the appropriate stylesheet so it publishes in the right colors for that division.
I tested multiple Word documents, multiple projects and multiple stylesheets. As soon as you apply ANY stylesheet, the topic loses all formatting. That means I have to manually apply the styles to every line of text.
Is there a quick fix to this that will get me through today? I have topics I need to publish.
Thanks

Thanks for replying. I was just now reporting it as a bug.
In Word, apply custom styles to a document.
Create two stylesheets for Robohelp that replicate those Word styles, but have different colors for the heading styles. Place them in each applicable Robohelp project folder.
Import the document.
Right click the topic name in the Topic List, and click Appearance.
Select the appropriate stylesheet and click OK.
Usually it's Voila! and everything formats perfectly. Today there is NO style to ANY text - even the font reverts to no margins, Times New Roman 10pt. It keeps character formatting, so things I bolded in Word stayed bolded. But that's it. I have used the same stylesheets for months, and made no changes to it yesterday, when it was working.
The loss of styles persists after you compile. However, they display correctly in the Styles and Formatting pod. When I highlight text in the window and apply the styles from the Styles pod, they update as they should, but the process is 100% manual.
I have no topics that don't originate in Word.
Here's one of the stylesheets:

  • Sapgui 7.10 patch 9 break "something" in IE 7

    Hi All
AM experiencing a strange problem .. on machines that had sapgui 7.10 patch 2, upgrading til patch 9, something breaks inside IE 7, to prevent opening of new windows in IE 7 on all pages.
So basically sapgui 7.10 works perfectly, but afterwards browsing on the internet, all pages opening a new page automatically get a blank page. alle settings in IE 7 are good (pop-up windows allowed and so on).
Even more strange .. this happens ONLY on machines where IE 7 is the first browser to be installed, on machines that previously had IE 6, this dosent happen.
Searching a bit, I find that perhaps MSHTML.DLL needs to be re-registrered, but apparently this is not possible in IE 7 (regsvr32 claims that there is no entry point in the DLL).
Reinstalling IE7 ofcourse solves the problem, but the amount of workstations possibly affected is pretty large (around 50.000 all in all).
    Any ideas ?

Same symptom,    different cause:   3rd-party toolbars.
People are sometimes inadvertently installing Google Toolbar into their Internet Explorer.
This also causes the 'popup blocker' to appear when running BI Web Query,
We disable the Google Toolbar and then the BI Web Query works fine.
I guess this symptom might apply to other 'convenient' toolbars as well.
    Best regards,
    Patrick Melling.

  • DID ED04 BREAK SOMETHING THAT WORKED BEFORE DOWNLOAD

I am not having any operational or hardware problems with my phone at all. I have Froyo 2.2.1 with build ED01. Yesterday I became aware for the first time that my phone does not always ring when I am called. I am considering downloading ED04 but I am worried that it seems every time they try to fix something, they break something that was working.
If you downloaded ED04 and it broke something that you know for a fact worked perfectly before download I would be grateful if you posted here in detail. Thank you in advance.

You are talking to fellow users on these forums, not iTunes Support or Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your phone number from your post.
For the Camera app, try closing it via the taskbar and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the iPad's screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of syncing, you will need iTunes on your computer - if you haven't already downloaded it then you can do so from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can conncet the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar on iTunes 11 on a PC via control-S), and use the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to sycn your content to the iPad.
    Syncing music : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351

If you haven't yet synced your iPad to your computer you may also find this page useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
For the excel file, what app are you viewing/editing it in ? If the values are different then it may be that the app that you are using doesn't support all the formulas that are being used in the spreadsheet. Apps that 'support' excel documents include Apple's Numbers app, and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

Playing PowerPC games on Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed into Parallels in Lion or Mt. Lion:

Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.  A recent poster has offered a solution for Mountain Lion users that do not have access to Snow Leopard or Lion Macs.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

  • 118872-03 ksh patch breaks set construct wildcard

Not sure where to report solaris 10 bug, anyone know? So I will post it here.... Solaris 10 sparc patch 118872-03 breaks set construct wildcard. For example:
    % ls [A-Z]*
will return filename of both upper and lowercase..
back out 118872-03 fix the problem. 118872-02 works..
    -- Frogdeep

OK... not so sure the problem is with 118872-03 now. I look carefully even with the 118872-02 patch I still have the problem. So it is some other patch that is causing the problem. Let's say my system is fully patched.
On system we only have recommendated cluster patched:
    % touch A aa B C D ee
    % ls [a-z]
[a-z]: No such file or directory
    On fully patched box:
    % touch A aa B C D ee
    % ls [a-z]
    A B C D
Doh! Help! Something is not right :*(

  • I just did two System Restores (and clicked something that asked me about "[something -exe]," and now Firefox won't open at all.

I hope someone can help. My husband did something to update Firefox (or Firefox just automatically updated today, I don't know which), but I didn't like the new toolbar much, so I did a System Restore to get back the old one. That didn't work, so I then did another System Restore for an earlier day, but when I restarted the computer, Firefox wouldn't open at all.
A pop-up asked me something about "allowing 'something-.exe' at start-up," with options like "Remember this action, don't allow, and allow," I think, and I don't remember what I clicked, and that's likely part of the problem, but in any case, I can't get Firefox to start now. I click on the logo/icon and nothing happens.
I tried to undo both System Restores, but the computer would only restore the most recent one, not both.
And I tried, as suggested on the forum elsewhere, to go into "Firefox Safe Mode," but that didn't help either.
    Thank you for any help.

That's what happened to me too after I upgraded to firefox 4 and it wouldn't connect to my internet. Now I'm stuck with Internet Explorer with none of my important personal information like my favorites.

  • Did I catch a virus or something?

    Macbook Air Version 10.8.5
Ok, so on Tuesday I downloaded something and nothing really happened that day. Uninstalled the item I downloaded the same day and computer's all good. However on the next day, things that have never happened before are happening to my computer. On some websites, some of the words became hyperlinks(http://puu.sh/aB7dg/262489b2b0.png) and ads are appearing on places where there was no ads before. I thought that installing AdBlock might help, but it didn't. Also, a white gap keeps growing every few seconds between a Youtube Title and it's description(http://puu.sh/aB7p6/ec62f847b1.png) which goes on forever. I also noticed that my browser loads a bit slower now and sometimes doesn't even load the page. I'm getting the beach ball of death way more frequent now than before. Anyone know what's happening and how to fix this?

You probably installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot" or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Maybe you hit the "p" key?
Then "Quick Preview" will be turned on and prevent editing. Hit "p" again or use the "View" ->"Quick Preview" menu entry.

  • Autogroup patch 'breaks' "nice" command.

    Hi all,
I just had a look how the nice command works together with the autogroup patch. (See i.e. this discussion: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=108516, or the links at the end of the post).
While the default behaviour is consistent, it is rather annoying:
Nice works only inside a group, while my processes (i.e. compilation + some foreground task) run typically in different groups.
I hope someone can explain to me, what I am doing wrong. Processes are grouped by Session ID, and I get the following behaviour:
For me process priorities work now as follows:
    - run several commands with different niceness levels from the same terminal: CPU time is divided according to niceness.
    - run several commands with different niceness levels from different terminals:  Every command gets the same amount of CPU.
    - run several commands with different niceness levels in the same terminal, and run more processes with different niceness levels in different terminals: CPU time is first divided between the terminals evenly, and then subdivided according to niceness.
Running several commands from the GUI works the same as running from different terminals, i.e. the SID is different, and niceness is therefore ignored.
I start X and login using inittab and lxdm.
An easy 'fix' for this is disabling autogroup support:
    echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/sched_autogroup_enabled

I can no longer duplicate the problem. The patch 125285-04 has been applied. Here are the cases. For one V210 host, the command "updatemanager" was aborting in real time on Friday. I had not removed the patch 125285-04 from it. Today, I tried it Tuesday and it worked. I cannot explain why unless the reboot on Monday cleared up something.
For the host where I had unapplied patch 125285-04, I re-applied it and manually ran the command "/usr/bin/fc-cache -f". Now running the "updatemanager" works. I cannot duplicate this problem today.
I only use updatemanager on these hosts for patching. I have not tried other commands that used GUI fonts/JAVA/etc.

  • Latest patches break Java Desktop on Dell 2800

I have solaris 10 x86 installed on a Desll Poweredge 2800. I have just loaded all the latest patches via updatemanager. Now if I try to log into any account to the gnome Sun Java Desktop the machine logs in ... then hangs before any of the toolbars etc are loaded ... it hangs so badly I have to reboot via the powerswitch
If I login using CDE it works perfectly. The Java Desktop did work until the latest batch of patches was installed. Does anyone have any Idea on how to fix this?

I am using an ATI Radeon ... built onto the Motherboard. Now to find where solaris hides the xorg.conf file ...
    </td></tr></table>
In a default configuration, there is no xorg.conf file. When xorg.conf is
missing, all the settings are auto-probed.
You can use "/usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg -configure" or /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig
to create an initial xorg.conf file.
Install the customized xorg.conf file as /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Look in Windows Explorer, Music Library, My Music, iTunes, iTunes Media, Music which is where your library should be located. If it isn't there make sure you have the first two items on the advanced tab of the preferences ticked, then on the file menu select Library and Organise Library which should put all music remaining on your PC into the iTunes library.
Alternatively, if you can find where the music has become relocated to, move it into the automaticall 'add to iTunes' folder within itunes Media and it should then go back into your library.

  • Did 10.8.2 update break bonjour?

Since updating to 10.8.2 on my two macbook pros, I have the same problems on each.
    1. Airprint printers stop responding after an idle period (30 mins or so).  Requires a reboot of router to access them again.  I can access the printer admin web page just fine with Safari at all times.
    2. Access to shares using Apple File Protocol over TCP/IP similarly cannot be accessed after an inactive period.  They are visible in the Finder, but clicking on them brings up an error about being unable to connect.  Accessing the shares via IP adress does work, however, and then re-enables browing in the Finder for a while.
Is this a bonjour problem?  Any thoughts on troubleshooting?
    Thanks

OK.  I have a fix for you all that seems to work especially if you need Java 6u37 working on any computer Apple disabled it on.  This will work best on 10.6 but can work on 10.7/10.8 as well.
Do not attempt this if you do not know what you are doing.
I will not be held responsible for your system if it stops working or you expose yourself to a virus.  If you are a novice user, you attempt to do this, and something goes wrong, remember you were warned.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK:
Using whatever editor you want at command line as root or using sudo, you will need to edit:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/XProtect.meta.p list
    Change:
    <key>JavaWebComponentVersionMinimum</key>
    <string>1.6.0_37-b06-435</string>
    To:
    <key>JavaWebComponentVersionMinimum</key>
    <string>1.6.0_37-b06-434</string>
    Change:
    <key>MinimumPlugInBundleVersion</key>
    <string>1.7.11.22</string>
    To:
    <key>MinimumPlugInBundleVersion</key>
    <string>1.7.11.21</string>
    And best of all, change:
    <key>LastModification</key>
    <string>Thu, 31 Jan 2014 16:55:59 GMT</string>
To any date in the future.  (Bad programming on Apple's part but repreive for those of us who have to support archaic Oracle based systems that won't work under Java 7+.)  It won't update again until after the date you put in there.
DO NOT Delete any of the lines that have to do with version number because it will allow older versions of Java, which are not secure, to run.  I would also not recommend that you change the date too far ahead if you are on 10.7/10.8 and are running Java 7 because the security holes in Java 7 are horrible.
