  • Difference betweeen Express and discoverer

How is oracle discoverer different from Oracle Express .

There's a big difference between FCP and FCE.. which is right for you is dependent on what you're doing I think. FCP 2 actually has functionality that FCE doesn't have... like working in formats other than DV. But that said, many of the newer features of the app are included with the current version of FCE. like HDV editing, (no native though, you need FCP for that) and like more filters, (but FCP has even more) etc... In reality, FCE's learning curve is about the same as FCP's.. FCP just gives you more features, and of course, more applications because it's part of Studio...
If you are a working pro, FCS 2 is the way to go.. if you are an enthusiast working in DV or HDV, and you don't need the pro features, and don't care about the extra applications in studio and don't care about recapturing, offline/online scenarios, RED support, HD support, professional color correction, higher quality MPEG encodes for DVD's etc.. FCE will serve you well.

  • Difference betweeen linux and windows

    Hi,
    I read the link http://docs.python.org/release/1.5.2p2/ext/dynamic-linking.html.
How linux differ from  windows when database runs.
How oracle library works with linux kernels?please explain anyone what is Shared object ,object files and etc
Is it possible to read those files?
    Br,
    Raj

The major difference IMO is the Process Architecture. On Linux/Unix you have each database process as a separate physical process image in the kernel. On Windows, there is a single physical process (oracle.exe) in the kernel, and database processes are threads. Both approaches have their pros and cons.
Besides that, there is not that many differences. A DLL on Windows is a SO (Shared Object) library on Linux/Unix. Conceptually the exact same thing. Technically differs little in implementation.
Memory? Same concepts. Even similar kernel calls for dealing with private and shared memory.
The other difference that stands out is that Windows has a very specific Server Manager framework in which a server daemon/service process need to run. There are specific kernel calls that need to be made and callback that need to be supported.
On Linux/Unix it is programatically much simpler to write a service. You need to change working dir to root file system (should not run a service on a file system that can be unmounted and remounted at any time). Change parent process to that of the kernel (initd) process. Install a signal handler to deal with kernel signals. Also easier to setup, use and maintain. (e.g. no oradim command needed)
Of course there is a lot of differences between Linux/Unix and Windows besides these I've mentioned - but as far as Oracle db instances are concerned, these are the main differences (process architecture and service definition) that impacts Oracle.

  • Difference between Valuated and Non valuated Sale order stock

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me the difference between the above said subject with the steps involved in each scenario.
That is valuated sale order stock and Non valuated sale order stock in Product cost by Sale Order.
With Journal entries at each step and whether any WIP or variances at Production order level and sale order level and all the financial entries related to them
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ravi Kumar

    Hi Shail,
    Thans for your inputs,
But I wanted to know it in more detail. In what scenarios they are used with financial entries in both the cases.
I will give you my scenario. It goes like this,
My client is in pipe coating business, who receives pipes from customers and does only coating work(which is considered as service) and despatches it to the customer. this process is carried on the basis of work order(Sale order).
Now Production order is created and work is done on that with reference to Sale order for that particular customer.
So the pipe which my client receives should be non valuated stock as it will not be a raw material to them and the cost incurred on it is booked on production order like chemicals as raw material consumption, activity cost etc.
now in this scenario just tell me how and at which stage FI entries get generated at Production order and Sale order level, and also at wat level Standard cost estimate should be created i,e at production order level or sale order level(sale order cost estimate).
Will there be any entries at goods isssue and GR against production order. If no then how the COGM account will get hit.
Please tell me this scenario in both cases Valuated sale order stock and Non valuated sale order stock with financial entries in Sale order costing.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Kumar

  • Difference in VAluated and Storage location Stock

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I'm facing following problem during viewing Stock on Posting Date (MB5B)
For a perticular material, perticular plant, particular period
When I view storage location /Batch Stock (storage location not specified): Lesser Stock is shown
When I view Valuated Stock stock shown is more.
    What may be the problem
    Regards

    Dear Ranjan,
    I am using T.code MC.9 and MC.1
when i am executing the MC.9 for all materials
some of the materials with ZERO stock i mean valuated stock is ZERO but its showing value of the Valuated stock. same case with MC.1 also which is storage location wise
for a ZERO qty in storage location its showing valuated stock,
i have raised an issue to SAP they are working on it , we have open our PRD system to check SAP people.

  • Moving Average Price and Total Stock not updated for MTO scenario

We are using MTO with planning strategy 20, individual collective indicator is 1 (individual requirement only) and price control is V for finished goods. We are facing the following problems after we perform GR of above FG from MFBF (Repetitive -run schedule header):
1)Total Stock field (LBKUM)in Accounting View 1 remain as blank but the sales order stock is appear in Stock Overview screen.
2)Moving average price does not updated after periodic settlement is carried out.
It seem that problem can only be resolved if we change the planing strategy to MTS (ex:40), appreciate that if any of you can provide the solution.
    p/s: on ECC5 system.

    Hi,
    Good morning and greetings,
The standard SAP says as below
The Raw Materials should have MAP 'V' and the SFG and FG should have the price control as 'S' basically because the standard costing variant PPC1 uses the sequence of Standard Price as the first update at the time of price update and settlement.
I presume MFBF is used for Repetitive Manufacturing and not for MTO scenario...Repetitive Manfuacturing is MTS scenario...Goods receipt of production order is normally done through MB31.
If you still want to use the MAP for FG and SFG then you will have to change the costing variant appropriately to pick the MAP first at the time of goods receipt and settlement.
Please reward points if found useful.
    Thanking you
    With kindest regards

  • GR in case of MTO scenario

    Hello All
In case of MTO (Planning strategy 20) when we run the MRP we have  planned order agianst sales order & we convert planned order to Production order, I want to know that in case of MTO if we look at the GR tab page of the production order the GR Non-Valuated checkbox is ticked, & if we see the help of the same field it says:
    Goods Receipt, Non-Valuated
Specifies that the goods receipt for this item is not to be valuated.
    Dependencies
This indicator is only relevant to production orders, projects and and configurable materials with account assignment to a sales order.
I want to know why this checkbox is checked in case of MTO.
I want that this shall not be checkmarked in case of MTO scenario I want that if GR is done against a production order which is of MTO scenario, then GR shall be of valuated.  Kindly suggest what all settings have to be done for the same.
    Regards,
    J K Tharwani

Thanks R Brahmankar for your valuable inputs,
I did some changes in customizing under CO node of which the path is as under:
SPRO>Controlling>Product cost controlling>Product cost by Sales Order>Control of Sales Order related Production-->Check requirement class.
I made the changes in the following fields:
       Field                      Default Value               Changes
Valuation               Blank                           M (Separate valuation with ref. to sales document/project)
       Settlement Profile   SD1                            PP01
      Result analysis key  000004                       Blank
After doing the above changes I created a sales order & did the MRP run I converted the planned order to production order & then I got under GR tab page of production order the check box  for "GR Non-valuated" as unckecked. I want to cross check if the changes I have made are OK as per the requirement. Waiting for your valuable inputs.
    Regards,
    J K Tharwani

  • No Accounting Document generated for goods issue in case of MTO scenario

    Hi all,
I have MTO scenario & the industry is trading. So I have all trading goods. In SPRO - Sales & Distribution - Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements - Transfer of Requirements - Determination Of Requirement Types Using Transaction I have determined requirement type as KE.
In material master I have used strategy group as 20 for Make to order scenario. In the settings "Determination Of Requirement Types Using Transaction" I have determined the requirement type as "KE".
The requirement type "KE" determines a requirement class "040 - MkToOrdNoValW/o cons". Here the account assignment category is "E-Ind. cust. w. KD-CO".
Now I created a sales order, the system determined the requirement type as "KE". I saved the sales order, assigned the stock to the sales order  & created a delivery.
I did the PGI also. But when I check in the document flow, for the material document the system has not generated any FI document where we see the accounting document for the "cost of goods sold" & "inventory" G/L accounts. The system gives a message "Material document 4900000023 does not include an accounting document".
    Note:
    1. When I create the sales order with normal MTS scenario, the system creates an accounting document for the material document at the time of goods issue.
    2. The valuation class in the material is 3100 for trading goods.
    3. The following settings have been made in OBYC.
for GBB, the G/L accounts have been assigned for general modifier "BSA", "VAX", "VAY" & "VKA".
Please suggest me as to where i am missing any settings.
    With best regards,
    Niyaz Sayyed.

    Dear Niyaz Sayyed
You need to check in the following areas:-
    -  check whether the material is defined as non-valuated stock
    -  go to OME9, select your Account Assignment and see whether you have checked the box "GR non-valuated".   It should not  have been checked
    thanks

  • How to Copy Cost Estimate from Quotation to Sales Order in MTO Scenario

    Hi,
We are working on a MTO scenario- Sales order Costing with Valuated Stock.
And our case we are creating the Cost Estimate at the time of Quotation using PP qty structure. Now we wan to transfer the cost estimate to Sales Order as we don't want to recost the sales order.
Currenty it's transferring only the EK01 condition as total planned costs in Sales order but we want to see the itemization also.
Please suggest is there any way to transfer this cost estimate with itemization from Quotation to Sales Order.
    Regards
    venkat

    Hi
As far as I know the CO esimate does not get copied from Quotation to Sales Order
You need to recost the SO again.. If your Qty Structure has not changed between Quotation to SO and your valuation variant is also the same - it would give the same result

  • Sales order costing - MTO Scenario

    Hi Experts,
I am working on SAP ECC 6.0 on a Make-to-order scenario.
I have created sales otder; run MRP for the sales order and converted the planned order to Production order and confirmed the production order.
But I don't know the period end processes of make to order scenario. Please answer my following queries:
Whether <b>WIP</b> will be calculated at Sales order level or individual production order level related to this sales order?
Whether <b>variances</b> are to be calculated at each production order level or at sale order level?
Which t-code should be used for calculation of variances if it is calaculated at sales order level? The production orders have TECO status.
Whether variances are to be settled at sales order level or each production order level?
Which Transfer Control should I use in Costong Variant "Sales Order KDN" or "Complete Transfer"?
Please also forward me some documents, if you have, which explains the whole step by step cycle from creation of sales order to settlement of sales order.
My email id is  [email protected]
    Request your help.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Bijay Kumar Deo

    Hi Bijay
To add few more checks and points - please note the following
    1)  Whether WIP will be calculated at Sales order level or individual production order level related to this sales order?
    A)  You need to selected RA for sales order in WIP RA version to ensure WIP is calculated for production orders which are linked to sales order
    2)  Whether variances are to be calculated at each production order level or at sale order level?
    A)  This would depend on whether u r following valuated or Non Valuated sales order stocks / costing
If is is non valuated u cannot determine variances, actual costs of production order are settled to sales order item
If it is valuated sales order following sales order costing, you can transfer production varainces to sales order item
    3)  Create settlement profile having sales order as valid receiver and assign profile to production type created for the sales order - MTO scenario
    4)  Which Transfer Control should I use in Costong Variant "Sales Order KDN" or "Complete Transfer"?
4A)  Suggested to have complete transfer as transfer control strategy
Hope the above clarifies.  Please assign points if useful as a way to say thanks
Any more suggestions / corrections to above points for the above scenairo are appreciated from forum members
