• MWST-group condition rounding difference between invoice and credit memo

Hi Experts,
I have an issue with MWST rounding issue.
Before jumping into the actual problem these are the prerequisites
SAP Version: ECC6.0
Condition type: MWST, with group condition tick enabled!
US Scenario (No Implication of CIN)
Scenario: - From Billing document  to Credit memo invoice.
When a invoice is referenced to the credit memo, there is a difference in the rounding value.
E.g.: Invoice tax value: 387.34 when completely referenced to credit memo become;s 387.31.
Please throw some light on it!

Hi,
Check Note 315792 - Group conditions of the same amount on item and related notes.
Perhaps Note 80183 - Rounding will help you too.

Eduardo

• Diff between Nornal Reversal and Negative postings

Hi,
Can any body explian the exact difference between Reversal and a Negative Postings technically, I mean in back end.
Thank You,
Purnachandra RM

The standard reversal posting causes the system to post the debit in error as a credit and the credit in error as a debit. The standard reversal posting causes an additional increase in the transaction figures.
Example for Standard Reversal
(1).Wrong posting
(2).Standard Reversal
Account 100000 Account 200000
(1).Dr 100 I (2) 100 (2) Dr 100 I (1) 100 Cr
Nett Balance is Zero
The negative posting also posts the debit in error as a credit and the credit in error as a debit. This time the posted amount is not added to the transaction figures but it is subtracted from the transaction
figure of the other side of the account. This sets the transaction figures back to as they were before the incorrect posting took place.
Example
Example
(1).Wrong posting
(2).Negative Reversal
Account 100000 Account 200000
(1).Dr 100 I I (1) 100 Cr
(2)Dr -100 I I (2) -100 Cr
Nett Balance is Zero
I hope above example gives clarity

• Difference between cleared items, open items and all postings (FI).

Hi experts,
Can anybody tell me the difference between cleared items, open items and all postings for an account.
While running corresponding bapis and transaction FAGLL03 (for GL) or FBL1N (for accounts payable) i found that in some cases all postings is less than cleared items or open items for a time period. How could it happen.According to my knowledge all postings should contain cleared items and open items.
Please correct me..
Thanks and Regards
Arjun

Hi Arjun,
For every Billing Documnet created(VBRK/VBRP-VBELN) there will be an accounting document created in BSID/BSAD tables.
OPEN ITEMS means the Billed/Invoice Amounts that are pending from Customers, i.e which we have to receive from Customers.
CLOSED ITEMS means the AMOUNTS received from that customer.
OPEN ITEMS : fetch data from BSID table Only
CLOSED ITEMS : fetch data from BSAD only.
ALL POSTINGS : fetch data from both BSID and BSAD.
Hope this will help.

Nitin.

• What is the difference between periodic asset postings and depreciation pos

Hi,
What is the difference between periodic asset postings and depreciation postings in asset accounting.
Regards, Naresh Yadav

ASKBN or ASKB : Periodic asset posting will update acquisition and depreciation in depreciation area other than area 01 which are maintained as post "APC and depreciation on periodic basis" by using ASKB or ASKBN
Separate set of GL accounts will be used for ASKBN. You can run ASKBN or ASKB as and when you need it and not necessarily nonth end
AFAB : To post a book depreciation at every period and this activity usually every month end which posts depreciation 01 Book Depreciation and other areas maintained as realtime at OADB

• What is the difference between credit memo in invoice year and in next year

Hi!
I'm new here.I'm study SAP ERP.I don't know what is the difference between credit memo in invoice year and credit memo in next year (asset accounting). Can you show and give me an example, please!
Thanks and best regards!
Edited by: dinhtuan on Jun 28, 2010 3:10 PM

Hi,
Maybe have a look at the SAP Help for further information (http://help.sap.com) : e.g. 'Posting Credit Memos Integrated with Vendor' or 'Posting a Credit Memo Offset Against a Clearing Account'
Transaction type 105 for credit memo on current acquisition made in the current year, posting key 75. Or transaction type 160 for credit memo on acquisitions from prior years. posting key 75.
Note: determine if the asset was acquired in the current fiscal year or in a closed fiscal year (Display asset values).
If the asset was acquired in a fiscal year that is now closed, correct the past depreciation using a write-up (in that case check out and refer to Posting Write-Ups).
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Brigitte

• Difference between Credit memo and subsequent credit

All SAP Gurus,
In MIRO, what is the difference between Credit memo and subsequent credit?
Regards,

Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same. For eg.
PO 10 - $10
Gr 10 - $10
LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order. In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for
the Increased amount or a credit memo for the increased amount.
If you approve of the price increase, post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit/Credit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received, then post the credit memo as Subsequent Debit/Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount eg. if the Vendor decided to credit
only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.

• "FI: Memo postings" is not allowed"

Dear All,
While I am posting one document with cost object WBS element, it gives an error as ""FI: Memo postings" is not allowed".
Can any one suggest why it's not allowing to post FI entry to WBS element. Is there any specific setting requires for direct posting through FI.
Thanks,
Regards,
Ramnath.

Hi,
check whether the system status of the WBS element is
release or not and see any statastical indicator has indicated.
If you are using any user status profile, check in
ok02 and allow the Transaction control for FI:postings.
Hope this will helpfull

• Differences between Credit Memo in FB75 and in VA01

Guys,
Basic question: What is differences between posting Credit Memo in FB75 and VA01.
I know FB75 is more FI perspective where VA01 is SD, but which tables get affected with these two TCodes, and what are business scenarios where one is preferred to other.
Thanking in advance.

Hi,
Your understanding is correct,
FB75 is the transaction in FI module
VA01 is the transaction in SD module
So as to the difference, you should refer to the different scenario:
Using FB75 you can only book the credit memo value into relevant G/L account from FI module, no quantity required;
With VA01, you should have return sales order and return delivery note, till after GR of return DN, you can not book the credit memo value and quantity into relevant G/L account.
E.g. Original billing document 100 PC 2000 EUR
Credit memo 100 PC -200 EUR (You can use FB75 or VA01)
or Credit memo 50 PC -100 EUR (You have to use VA01, because there is the quantity adjustment in the credit memo)
Hope can help you!
Good day

• Difference between Credit memo in accounting and MM

Hi,
Credit note can be entered using MIRO or in FI using FB65. I wish to know the difference between the two. Please throw light on this.
Thanks
Muru

Dear murugasen,
MIRO - This transaction will be used if you want to raise a credit memo against a purchase order, so that the Material / Service account will get effected through MM integration.
FB65 - This transaction will be used , like a normal JV which doesn't have any record of your transaction except accounting.
thanks and regards

• Difference between Subsequent credit and Credit memo

Hi,
Please tell me what is differnece between Subsequent credit and Credit memo.
You shoud give me on business exmple
Thanks and Regards
Anil Patil

Hi Anil,
For CREDIT MEMO
A Credit Memo (short for "credit memorandum") is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, listing the products, quantities and agreed prices for products or services the seller provided the buyer, but the buyer did not receive or returned. It may be issued in the case of damaged goods, errors or allowances. In respect of the previously issued invoice, a Credit Memo will reduce or eliminate the amount the buyer has to pay.
The Credit Memo usually contains: PO #, Date, Billing Address, Shipping Address, Terms of Payment, List of products with quantities and prices. Usually it references the original Invoice and sometimes states the reason for issue.
Credit Memos are often called Credit Notes or just Credits.
The seller usually issues a Credit Memo for the same or lower amount than the invoice, and then repays the money to the buyer or sets it off against a balance due from other transactions.
The term may also refer to the document provided by a bank to a depositor to indicate the depositor's balance is being increased because of an event other than a deposit, such as the collection by the bank of the depositor's note receivable.
SAP Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same.
Example:
PO 10 - $10
GR 10 - $10
LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order.
In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for the Increased amount
or a credit memo for the reduce amount.
If you approve of the price increase,
post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received for reducing $1 of invoice price,
then post the credit memo as Subsequent Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount
eg. if the Vendor decided to credit & only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.

Moderator: This forum is not dedicated for basic questions. Please, read SAP material before posting

Hi,
All postings which are originated from other than CO module ( i.e from interface, FI etc ), are called External postings in CO.
Whereas internal postings means posting which happen within CO module, example Assessment, Distribution etc within a company code.
