Hi,

Anil Patil

Hi Anil,
For CREDIT MEMO
A Credit Memo (short for "credit memorandum") is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, listing the products, quantities and agreed prices for products or services the seller provided the buyer, but the buyer did not receive or returned. It may be issued in the case of damaged goods, errors or allowances. In respect of the previously issued invoice, a Credit Memo will reduce or eliminate the amount the buyer has to pay.
The Credit Memo usually contains: PO #, Date, Billing Address, Shipping Address, Terms of Payment, List of products with quantities and prices. Usually it references the original Invoice and sometimes states the reason for issue.
Credit Memos are often called Credit Notes or just Credits.
The seller usually issues a Credit Memo for the same or lower amount than the invoice, and then repays the money to the buyer or sets it off against a balance due from other transactions.
The term may also refer to the document provided by a bank to a depositor to indicate the depositor's balance is being increased because of an event other than a deposit, such as the collection by the bank of the depositor's note receivable.
SAP Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same.
Example:
PO 10 - $10
GR 10 - $10
LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order.
In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for the Increased amount
or a credit memo for the reduce amount.
If you approve of the price increase,
post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received for reducing $1 of invoice price,
then post the credit memo as Subsequent Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount
eg. if the Vendor decided to credit & only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.

VB

  • Difference between sales order and credit order

    Hi friends,
can any explain about difference between sales order and credit order in SAP.
    Thanks and Regards.

    Hi Narayana,
This Depends upon your Client Requirement.
If you are using the Credit Management to your client. then you maintain certain checks like Simple Credit, Automatic Credit at Sales Order Level.
If the Client want a seperate Document type for Credit Sales and Normal Sales if having Purpose.
Other wise you can use only one Document type for both, because in Standard Sap, For Cash Sale have seperate Document type.

  • Difference between subsequent adjustment and return delivery ...?

    Dear all ,
Provide difference between subsequent adjustment and return delivery ...?
    sri....

    Hi,
Subsequent delivery means you have to reverse the goods receipts after
entering corresponding invoice and you want to post another goods receipt
than use subsequent delivery in MIGO with reference to old goods receipt
    number.
Subsequent adjustment means updating the price difference in the quantity
    already supplied.
Ex: Original invoice price is 100 for quantity of
10 nou2019s, i.e., Invoice amount is 1000 after doing MIRO for amount
1000 you get another supplementary Invoice for amount
100 towards price revision. In this case  you have to adjust through subsequent
    adjustment.
If your question was on posting logic for alternative posting of exchange rate differences. then,
    Subsequent adjustment*
When you make a subsequent adjustment, the system posts all values with the exchange rate at the time of the goods receipt.
    Return Delivery
If there is a return delivery, the posting date is based on the time of the goods receipts. The system converts the stock value using the average exchange rate with reference to the purchase order.

    Sadiq.

  • Difference Between Controllin area and Credit Control area

    hi.
can u pls tell  me the difference  Controllin area and Credit Control area....?
is there any FM is available for CreditControlAreaGetList........?
    regards
    Guru

    Hi Bojja,
    Controlling Area:
Controlling provides you with information for management decision-making. It facilitates coordination, monitoring and optimization of all processes in an organization. This involves recording both the consumption of production factors and the services provided by an organization.
As well as documenting actual events, the main task of controlling is planning. You can determine variances by comparing actual data with plan data. These variance calculations enable you to control business flows.
Income statements such as, contribution margin accounting, are used to control the cost efficiency of individual areas of an organization, as well as the entire organization.
    CCA(Credit Control Area)
An organizational unit that represents the area where customer credit is awarded and monitored.
This organizational unit can either be a single or several company codes, if credit control is performed across several company codes. One credit control area contains credit control information for each customer.

  • Subsequent debit, credit and credit memo

    Hi,
what is the difference between subsequent debit, credit and credit memo in MIRO transaction.
In case of vendor had given us credit note with relevant to particular for which we had already completed the invoice verification and payment also paid.
in this case what document should i use i.e crdit memo, subsequent credit memo or subsequent debit memo??
    plz suggest

    Hi
You need to use a credit memo.
Subsequent debit is used if you have already invoiced
You have already received an invoice from your vendor for all the goods received. Subsequently, freight costs are to be taken into account, however, the invoice quantity remains the same.
Subsequent credit is used if you already have done a credit memo on the PO
You have already received a credit memo from your vendor for all the goods received. Subsequently, freight costs are to be credited to your company, however, the credit memo quantity remains the same.

  • Subsequent debit, subsequent credit and credit memo?

    Dear Gurus,
Kindly explain subsequent debit, subsequent credit and credit memo with one simple example..pls..
    Thanks..

    Hi,
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same. For eg.
    PO 10 - $10
    Gr 10 - $10
    LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order. In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for
the Increased amount or a credit memo for the increased amount.
If you approve of the price increase, post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit/Credit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received, then post the credit memo as Subsequent Debit/Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount eg. if the Vendor decided to credit
    only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.
Credit Memo u2013 A credit memo is received from a vendor if you were overcharged on a previous invoice. It is processed as a reversal of a previous invoice on a quantity and value basis referencing a Purchase Order. In the same way the system assumes a corresponding goods receipt was posted for the original invoice, the system assumes a credit memo is linked to the reversal of a goods receipt. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Credit memo.
Subsequent Credit u2013 You receive a credit memo from a vendor decreasing the total invoiced value on a previous invoice, not the total invoiced quantity. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Subsequent credit.  It is a reduction of value but not quantity by the amount of the credit memo.
Subsequent Debit u2013 You receive an additional invoice from a vendor because you were undercharged, increasing the total invoiced value, not the total invoiced quantity. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Subsequent debit. It is processed as an increase in value but not the quantity by the amount of the additional invoice.
    Hope it helps,

  • Subsequent debit and Credit in MRIO

    Hi,
I know the Invocie and credit memo in MIRO when we are posting the invocie we have to use the invocie option and in case we return the material we can use the credit memo, I wan tto know when we have to use subsequent debit / credit what its exact use.
    regards,
    zafar

    Hi,
Subsequent debit and Credit  are executed after invoice verification. When an additional invoice or credit memo is received for a transaction that has already been invoiced, this is known as a subsequent debit/credit. First let me clarify the terms Subsequent debit /Credit and credit memo.
    1. Subsequent Debit :-You must enter an invoice as a subsequent debit if a purchase order item has already been invoiced and further costs are now incurred. (Example: A vendor has inadvertently invoiced you at too low a price and then sends a
    second invoice for the difference.)
    2. Subsequent Credit :- You must enter a credit memo as a subsequent credit if a purchase order item was invoiced at too high a price and you have now received a credit memo. (Example: A vendor has inadvertently invoiced you at too high a price and then sends a credit memo for the difference. Please refer below link for better clarity.
A subsequent debit/credit cannot refer to a particular invoice. Subsequent debits and credits are listed separately in the PO history.
    3. Credit Memo :- You usually receive a credit memo from a vendor if you were overcharged. As is the case for invoices, credit memos refer to purchase orders or goods receipts. Hope this will resolve your issue. Thanking you

  • Create a Credit and Debit memo with reference

    Dear Gurus,
When creatting credit and debit sales document with reference to a billing document it is not possible to modify value of the sales document, in order to create a partial document.
It only happens when the billing document refered has billing plan.
I need to create partial debit and credit memo from a billing document with billing plan.
    Can anybody take a hand?
    best regards,
    Juan

    Hi,
I presume you are asking , instead of creating credit and debit memos, why cant we change the sales order, Am  I right ?
If I am right, then I like to say here, we have a provision in SAP of creating Invoice correction request.
Which would satisfy your quest I suppose. Invoice correction request of customers complaints, has sales document type is RK, and Document category is K.
"I need to create partial debit and credit memo from a billing document with billing plan" I say why not, you can do it with suggested Invoice correction request which is the combination of  G2 &  L2  in a single document.
However If I have helped you for dispeling your doubt, I am glad.
    Regards,
    Saplinx

  • Output type for intercompany credit and debit memo

    Dear SD Gurus,
I am working for the IDOC Credit and debit memo process. I have listed below the steps which I have done to get the process to be done.
    1) Intercompany sales order created.
    2) Delivery.
    3) Invoice.(Accounting document generated)
    4) Intercompany billing.(Accounting document generated)
    5) Intercompany credit memo request.
    6) Intercompany credit memo.(Accounting document generated).
My client requirement is "IDOC posting for intercompany credit and debit memo".
Once I have completed all the above process, I used the transaction code : "VF31"(Output for billing) to execute it. But If I have given the billing document number which is intercompany credit memo that it is not getting accepted for the output type :"RD04"(Invoice receipt-MM) in VF31. The thing is client suggested me to use the output type :RD04 for this process. But the output type RD04 is getting accepted for the intercompany billing in VF31, which means the output type RD04 is wrong?
Gurus please let me know whether IDOC for intercompany credit and debit memo is possible. If it is possible, Please let me know the correct output type should be used to execute it correctly in VF31, so that I can able to run the transaction code :WE02 for IDOC successfully.
Inputs would be highly appreciated and helpful.
    Regards
    Mani.

    Gurus,
When I have clicked the error "G/l account 100000 1007 does not exist"
    Diagnosis.
A line item is to be posted to the non existant G/l account 100000 in company code 1007.
    System response.
The invalid account number is rejected.
    Procedure:
If you have entered the account number, correct your entry. If the account number was rejected when the system created automatic postings , check which postings it may concern by means of the business transaction. contact the system administrator to correct the account determination for the affected transaction.

  • Credit and Debit memo - Type of Billing

    Hello Friends,
Credit and Debit memo creation can reference a Billing doc or Sales Order or it can be created directly.
So, is credit memo or debit memo Order-Related billing ?
Can i confirm that because Credit memo correct values , it does not generally correct any stock, even in Returns scenario?
    regards
    John

Credit memo and debit memo are generally created either referencing to a biling document or without any reference. Yes, these are order related billing documents. It does not have any inventory impact. It only have accounting impact.
When it comes to returns scenario, it is a bit different. It depends on the business situation. There are a few ways that you can handle returns. Your customer returns the goods back to you for one of the reasons (over delivery, quality problem, damaged stock etc). You will take it back to your stock. Your inventory increases. Then, you cannot create a order related credit memo. Instead you create a return document referencing to the billing document, then do a post goods receipt (delivery document) and issue a credit memo to the customer. So, inventory is impacted and this type of credit memos (or returns credit as usually referred to) are delivery related.
Else, you will want your customer to destroy the stock (which your customer reports a damage and bringing it back to your plant costs you more). Then, you will only issue a credit memo to your customer. You will not receive any stock and the stock is not impacted. So, this type of documents become your order related billing docs... Here there is no impact on inventory and only financial impact is seen.
    Hope it helps...

  • Link between Sales order and Credit master sheet

    Hi,
Plz explain the link between sales order and credit master sheet.
    Thanks and regards
    CSR

    Hi,
Credit master is related to Customer.
Credit limit will be assigned to a customer by using the T.Code FD32.
Credit control area will be assigned to a customer.
You can the credit control area for a customer in the table "KNVV".
Goto the T.Code "FD32".Enter your customer number and credit control area.Select the status tab.
Here you can maintain the credit limit. If you leave blank means the limit is 0.00.
Next thing is goto the T.Code "OVAK".
Select your sales order.Maintain the "Credit limit check" for your order type.
Goto the T.Code "OVA8".Select your valid combination. Here, you can activate either the static or dynamic credit limit checks.
If you create the sales order by using the customer, initially the system will check for the credit limit. If it is 0.00 and credit check functionality is activatd in the above specified T.Codes, then creditcheck will happen and order will be blocked for releasing of credit by using the T.Code "VKM3".Authorised persons have to release this credit block.Suppose, you have maintained this credit limit as "1000Rs/-" and you are creating the order of value "550Rs/-",then your order will not be blocked even though the credit check functionality is activated for your order type.
In this way, sales order is in turn related to credit master.
    Regards,
    Krishna.

  • Difference between shipping invoice and fiscal invoice?

    Helo.
Can anyone tell me the difference between Shipping Invoice and Fiscal Invoice?
    Regards
    Points are assured

    Hi Kulkarni,
    Invoice Processing
    Process
You can use this business process to display and process invoices both in SAP Enterprise Buyer (SAP EBP) and SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS).
As supplier or service provider, all invoices that you enter or process in SAP Enterprise Buyer must be approved by a responsible internal employee. For goods and services with a low purchase value, invoices and credit memos can also be created without a purchase order reference. Moreover, it is also possible to create express invoices in the check status application.
In SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS) invoices can be entered with reference to a purchase order, shipping notification, or contact person before they are sent to the customer.
If, following a purchase order, the goods supplied or the service provided turn out to be defective or the price charged is too high, you as an internal employee, supplier, or service provider, can enter and process credit memos or subsequent debits/credits in SAP Enterprise Buyer
i think the invoice generated during a particular fiscal year is fiscal invoice.
    thanks

  • Difference between return delivery and cancellation

What is the difference between return delivery and cancellation in  MIGO transaction.
Can any one explain how to use them and where to use them.
    thanks

    HI there
I will make it simple with figures,,
    Return Delivery
    PO- 100 nos
GR-100 nos in to QI stock,,,
After the Inspection- 95 nos Accepted, 5 nos Rework
    1. Return Delivery - Expecting the Subsequent Delivery- post the 5 nos into 122 (Return to Vendor), he will do the rework and provide the component back after the inspection if the qulaity is ok receive into 101
2.Return Delivery- Not expecting the delivery back- post the 5 nos into 122 (Return to Vendor) and close the PO, if the payment already create the Credit memo for the 5 nos,,,
    Cancellation
    Ex:
    1. GR for the 100 nos into 103 instead of 101, so cancel the document through 104
At the time of cancel the document, Always use the origin material document, so that
    1. All the data will be copied automatically
    2. Reversal Movement type will be defaulted
    3. Material Cost will be picked on the last material document,, if not it will pick the price from PO/Order.
    Hope it helps you
