Difference in font rendering of JList and other text components

Hi,
I have a swing application using JTextField,JTextArea and JList.When I use a font
for an Indian Language for these components,the JList shows the data correctly
but the other components shows it with junk characters.Is there a difference in the font rendering behaviour of JList from others?

Use getFont() on each to the comonents to make sure they are using the same font.

Difference in font rendering between 8 and 9

I've got a PDF that appears differently in Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9. In Acrobat 8 there are fonts that have remapped to the "undefined" character - boxes instead of letterforms. In Acrobat 9 the file looks correct. "Use local fonts" is turned off in both versions.
My RIP rendered the PDF as it appeared in Acrobat 8.
I've my system fonts pared down to the minimum. In Acrobat 9 I can even convert the font to outlines (via PitStop). Anybody got any idea where Acrobat 9 is pulling these fonts from? The fonts in question on this file are ArialNarrow-Bold, ArialNarrow-BoldItalic, and TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT.

Error in Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Hello Everyone,
I am a regular user of I-tunes but recently i dont know why but I got some error in Launching I-tunes. So as recomonded by "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7" section. I started removing the products. But after removing Quick time, I tried to remove Apple Software Update but while uninstalling it gave error that "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." and the uninstall rollbacks.
Please send me a feasible solution to this problem.

Uninstalling the iCloud control panel should allow you to do that folder deletion.

Printing graph and other text in the same page

Hi,
I am aware that for providing graphs in ABAP report we have a FM which is called via a pushbutton in the output screen generally.
Is there any way I can do away with the pushbutton and print the graph and other text in the same page at one go ? I think Smartforms will not allow graph printing.......any other method to achive this ?
The user wants to print the graph and other text in the same page.

Need more information... Is it that you don't know how to add a picture to a text? You know and have tried but gotten an error message? Got no message, but the receiver does not get the text? Are you sending as iMessage or SMS, or MMS?

Opening .docs and other text documents

How do I make pages the default application for opening word documents and other text documents. Everything still opens in the text edit program, especially things from emails that are .docs, which is really annoying.

In Finder select a suitable file:
+Menu > File > Get info (cmd I) > Open with: > Other… > find pages in (Applications > iWork) > > Click on the Change All button underneath in the Info panel+

Best Font for Subtitles? and other General Subtitling questions?

I've never had to use subtitles, until my current project, so I am looking for some general advice and suggestions.
I will be using PPCS3 (on XPpro) as the subtitles (as in the kind that translate a foreign language) will be permanent.
So here are my questions:
1. What is the best font and or what is the most standard font for subtitles? (Font size and other characteristics may be worth mentioning here too.)
2. Is it possible to have an outline around the text as opposed to shadow?
3. What are some general rules of thumb for subtitles that apply to broadcast and cinematic productions?

I love to read news on apple devices on the move. Unfortunately, some fonts for other languages don't show properly. I want to see those fonts without using jailbreak. Please help me.

Following iOS7 we now have a way to install fonts on all devices - it's not a keyboard but it does allow you to read content in almost all apps with this technique:

Footnote: they added a PayloadType of "Font" to configuration profiles (.mobileconfig) and the OS will match the code block for Khmer to whatever font is best suited. The above links currently use "Battambang".

Hi,
SSL end-to-end means that the web dispatcher is just forwarding the
HTTPS requests to the backend system without unpacking / decrypting the data.
This can be configured by icm/server_port_<XX> = ...,PROT=ROUTER,..
To be able to configure the ROUTER protocol on the web dispatcher you also
must have configured HTTPS / SSL on the relevant backend system.
Configuring SSL "only" means that the web dispatcher is listening to HTTPS and you can decide with the relevant parameters, if the communication to the backend is HTTP or if it is again reencrypted using HTTPS.
This would end up in using the parameter icm/server_port_<xx> = ...,PROT=HTTPS,....

I need Informations about how the installationfiles for vista are differing from the files to install oracle on other windows systems.
And why can't i simply install Oracle Database 10g release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows on a Windows Vista System.

Because Microsoft has changed the API with Vista - the system calls that programs such as Oracle (and Symantec, Word Perfect, and so on) use to performs their operations.
It is a strange thing indeed that things stop working when a program (such as Oracle) asks "fetch me data from disk" and the operating system says "fetch has been changed to get and I no longer respond to fetch"
Also because Microsoft has changed the security model, and requests made by Oracle are now denied due to insufficient, or differences in, security.
An analogy - you have a device with a plug to use in North America. Why can you not simply plug it in to the wall socket in other countries?
The information you need should probably come from Microsoft, not Oracle.

Huge difference in table rendering in Firefox and Safari

Wow...I just looked at my soon to be launched site in Safari
and was in for some nasty surprises.
If you go to

and do a search on the left nav in drop down menus, like choose a
country and state then search...it takes you to
travelsearchresults.php which is a mess! But in FF that page works
just fine...
Also, we have all kinds of spacing issues in that left nav
serach area we don't have in FF...like the dropdowns are not spaced
evenly, there is too much room between the search icon and choose
amenities link.
Any ideas why?

Before even beginning to think about layout issues, you really need to address the >680 errors found on that page by the validator -

Most of these can be eliminated by bringing the doctype and the code syntax on the page into concordance. You have used a
XHTML 1.0 Transitional
doctype, yet your code is not using XHTML tag syntax. You can easily fix this by opening the page in DW, then using FILE | Convert > XHTML 1.0 Transitional (or some other doctype if you are not comfortable with this choice).

When switched to Firefox, the font on my email and others looks like a print out froma printer low on ink. Some letters completely solid, some letters are light and dark. Reason? Solution?

Please be rest assured that we pay close attention to the posts on the Forum and we've monitored those related to the 6510. Improvements have been made to follow-on printer models. I agree that taking the printer apart isn't for the faint hearted, it can certainly be a tricky process.

(Windows 8.1) My iTunes takes a while to open, freezes and doesn't recognize any apple device plugged into it. I've uninstalled iTunes and other software components in the order I was told but still end up with the same result.Why is that?

Why is iTunes for Windows 8 (8.1) taking so long to boot up, not recognizing an apple device and freezing after a proper uninstall and reinstall?

Hmm....I just had another thought. All the machines are running Win7 SP1, BUT the 2 that can sync with MSE installed are 32bit versions, however the one that can't is 64bit. Not sure if that makes any difference though. All are clean installs with Win7SP1 media, not SP1 installed later.

How do I fix the problems with text formating functions in hotmail and other text based sites?

In a Mailing list provider site it disables the text formating functions, instead only showing a 'loading' message. The functions never appear. In Hotmail the scroll arrows on the right hand side does not work. Sometimes the email toolbar becomes 'grey' and the buttons do not work. When forwarding an email sometimes the email does not show in the new email message.

The only possible fix was turning the phone off immediately and burying it in a bag of dry rice for a week at least. That might...just might...have worked. But you're way beyond that and I see no fixes. In fact the phone is probably going to get more problems before finally gving up the ghost. Continued use is just shorting out more and more of the circuitry. For that reason I don't think repair is much of an option. Go to an Apple Store and buy an out-of-warranty replacement.
