Difference partially confirmed activities via CN22 and CN25

Dear,
Apparantly there seems to be a difference in the SAP logics in partially confirming activities:
when we partially confirm an activity using transaction CN22, the activity is not planned anymore..
however we we partially confirm an activity using transaction CN25, the activit is still planned (status = DSPT)
What is the standard SAP logic around this ? Why is their a difference? Should and can the difference be corrected?
rgds,
bert

Hi Bert
Can you clarify - what are you trying to do? DPST is a system status when you try to transfer the dates from forecast to Basic.
Wheras using CN22 you can confirm the activity - means whatever been planned -trying to convert into actuals of the work performed. The same can be done in CN25 but with one network activity. Collective (work)confirmation can be done using CN27.

  • Workforce Planning for Partially Confirmed Activities

    Hi All,
I have recently configured Workforce planning for one of the clients, and it has been working as per the requirement. Here, I have configured Workforce Planning profile and Scheduling parameters of Network. So, once a Project and a Network is created, User plans Personnel for this Network's activity using CMP2. Also, CATS profile is maintained in such a way that Worklist shows the Planned hours and accordingly a person can book Time against it.
Now, the problem arises after a Personnel assigned to an activity books the Timesheet. Once a Person books time against this particular Activity, it gets disappeared from CMP2 screen. Now, practical implications are that, suppose that person goes for a leave or leaves the organization and PM wants to assign another person for the same Activity (which is partially confirmed).
How can we address this issue - to perform workforce planning for Partially Confirmed activities?
Any pointers to User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs or SAP Notes are highly appreciated.

    Hi Sanjeev,
    Thanks for your feedback.
In CMP2, we are already checking the activity work hours. According to that only we are adding resource, then checking that resource's availability and then assigning work.
As an example, activity work duration is from 20.08.2014 to 30.09.2014. I assigned a resource A from 20.08.2014 to 30.09.2014 for 8 hours because he is available in that duration.
Now, the real problem comes when this resource is suddenly unavailable (due to any reason) and PM comes to know about this on 07.09.2014. Resource A has already booked Timesheet for the duration he has worked (20.08 to 06.09). So activity is PCNF.
So PM wants to reduce the Work assignment for Resource A from 30.09.2014 to 06.09.2014 and assign Resource B from 07.09.2014 to 30.09.2014, but he is unable to get this activity in CMP2 view because it is PCNF. Here PM can only see activities of same project which are in REL status.
So how can I enable this PCNF activity in CMP2 view.
If there is any IMG activity settings, then let me know.
If this is standard behavior and can be done through User Exit/BADI/BAPI then also let me know.

Whats the difference between sending messages via socket and MQs?

    Soph wrote:
Whats the difference between sending messages via socket and MQs?With JMS (and the like) your application uses a socket to connect to a central server called a "*Message Broker*". Over this connection it can send or receive messages.
A Message Broker is somewhat analogous to a database server. Multiple clients connect to it to exchange messages. As with a database a client first establishes a connection, then requests specific facilities like subscriptions.
It creates a strong decoupling between sender and receiver and handles stuff like allowing multiple receivers for the same message, queuing of messages for applications not currently running and so on.
(And don't worry, you can get perfectly good message brokers for free such as openMQ and activeMQ.)

  • Difference betweek adding node via Sysadmin and adding host via OAM

We have cluster setup at DB node in EBiz 11.5.10.2. After running autoconfig we have to manually add physical host entry in FND_NODES table. We do this via sysadmin > Install > Nodes. But I have seem some difference when we add node via OAM > add new host and sysadmin > install > nodes. Specially if you add host via OAM, it add support_CP value along with hostname, same doesn't happen if you do via sysadmin.
Did anyone know technical difference between these two approach.

  • Scheduling and partial confirmation

    Dear all
i have created a project, released......
now i am confirming the activities................my question is, when i am partially confirming the activities,
ex: duration of activity id 10 days, today when i am confirming the activity with 50% progress, its not showing the actual start date in the activity as well as in the project planning board.
if i am confirming 100%, then its showing the actual start as well as actual finsih .................
Question2: ex: if the duration of the activity is 10days, and if i have started the actvity today and completed 50%, will the system show the other 50% completion in one day.........and project the completion of the project to be completed by tomorrow??? or will the system shows the other 50% completion in 9 days.....
    10 days actvity ....
50% completed in one day, will it project the other 50% completion in 1 days, or shows as 9 days??????
hope so my question is clear.
    Regards
    surya

    Hi Surya Pampala,
    Question No-1
While partially confirming the activity, you have to enter the Actual start data also on the confirmation screen along with percentage. this will be immediatly reflected in actual dates in network activity also and will be displayed in cj20n and cj2b as well.
    Question No-2
As per the activity planning 10 days required for 100 % completing the activity. as per the execution, 50% work is completed in 1 day. If you want system should calculate the remaining time required to complete the activity you have to reschedule ( if you achieve planned duration based on the work planned for a work centre in the activity) the activity. If you have planned only days with out capacity requirements in the activity, you can enter forcast date of completion while confirming 50% for that activity.
Hope this will clear you.....for any queries plz revert back !!
    regards,
    Hari

  • Automatic confirmation of activities from MM and PP

We have had a request in our post go live for automatically confirming activities such Purchase Order confirmation and Release of a Production Order to automatically update the status in SAP PS to the direct activity it is linked through the WBS.
Have you experienced this request before?  There are some suggestions to trigger off BADIs certain updates to PS but we can’t be the first company to want direct integration between PS/PP?
Would love to hear your thoughts

    Hi,
There are standard BAPIs available to which you may required to tweak to your requirement.
    1. BAPI_NETWORK_CONF_GETDETAIL - this will extract the data
    2. BAPI_NETWORK_CONF_ADD - this create/update the data.

  • Difference between confirmation cancellation and return delivery

    Dear Gurus,
can you explain to me the difference between confirmation cancellation and return delivery in terms of processes and impact on ECC postings?
Thank you in advance for your collaboration,
    Fuffo
Edited by: Fuffo Fuffi on Dec 21, 2010 2:36 PM

    Hi
Confirmation Cancellation --> is used for reversing a confirmation which is posted wrongly in the system. This is generally used for reversing a faulty transaction.
Return Delivery --> is used for sending the goods back to vendor. This happens when we receive goods from vendor and for some reasons the delivery does not meet customer's specification due to any reason. In these cases you record the goods movement as Return delivery sent back to Vendors.

  • Partial confirmation and credit block

    Hi Friends,
I have a scenario where we are using automatic credit check.  in the sales order based on the availability check the full 2 quantity is confirmed and then there is a credit block.  hence i check back the document and the confirmed quantity becomes 0.  When i release the credit check thru vkm3 and check the sales doc again the quantity is now confirmed for 2.
But the same doesnt happen for if the order quantity is 2 and the confirmed quantity is 1 and the credit check happens.  Once the credit check is released the sales doc still shows 0 quantity rather than 1 confirmed quantity.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Anand

    Hi Friends,
I got the solution to this problem.  The 'availa;bity check rule' which is there in AvC>ATP>Define default settings; was set to 'E' from 'blank'.  Earilier because it was set to blank it used to do a recheck after the credit relealseon the full quantity, hence if the order qty was equal to the confirmed qty after the release it showed the confirmed qty.  but when the confirmed qty was less than the ordered qty, when the avcheck happened after the credit release it used to check for the full quantity, where it will fail, so the confirmed qty would go back to zero.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Process Order Partial confirmation (PNCF) and Final Confirmation

    Hi expert,
I'm already running t-code COHVPI to mass processing process order so it status change from TECO to CLOSED. But there is an error message "process order partially confirmed". Is that true if process order must be final confirmed before it changed to CLOSED. Should we change the status of partial confirmed (PNCF) to Final confirmed (CNF) before process order CLOSED.
    Please give me a suggestion.
    Thank you.

Correct. Final Confirmation is THE signal to the rest of the world that that this order is DONE (at least from the GR standpoint). This will also retire the order from the APO/SNP radar.

  • Want Automatic scheduling in case I partially confirm the activity

    Hi Experts,
I have one network with two activities having FS relationship with duration for ex.10 & 20Days.
    Activity 1:  ES = 01-01-2009  & EF = 10-01-2009  (Date -Month - Year format)
    Activity 2:  ES = 11-01-2009  & EF = 30-01-2009
    I havedone the following settings:
    1) Adjust Basic Dates
    2) Automatic Scheduling
    3) In confirmation parameters - Propose dates
Now I had done the partial confirmation of activity 1 with actual start 03-01-2009 & Actual Finish 11-01-2009  & forcast duration 2 days
Now when i save the NW or Project but system dose not do the automatic scheduling Earliest dates remain same .For this I have to do manually
Can some one help so that the system schedule automatically & the result would be as
    Activity 1:  ES = 03-01-2009  & EF = 13-01-2009
    Activity 2:  ES = 14-01-2009  & EF = 03-02-2009
    Regards,
    Deependra

    Hi
The ES and EF dates are the dates for planning only. Scheduling is done for the planning purpose only.
Once you do the actual / partial confirmation of the activity, the difference between your planned visa-vis your actual dates will help you to understand your planned credentials.

  • Report for mass interruption of partially confirmed orders in PPDS?

    Hi gurus,
our client has a lot of partially confirmed orders in the past, and this is giving us problems with the optimizer.
Is there a report for mass interruption of this orders?
We can do it one by one in the DS planning board, but there are too many!
    would appreciate any help,
    Pablo

    Hi Pablo,
I would suggest you can close the partially confirmed orders at R/3 itself
so that it will update in APO via CIF.
There is delivery complete indicator in R/3 production/process order which
upon checking will close the order.

  • WBS Dates not updated from confirmed activities below

    Dear All,
    Require your help on this.
I have a Project Definition where we have Multiple WBS (upto level 2) and we are using single network.
Activities are distributed in various WBS levels (Lowest WBS).
For example I have WBS where there are three activities, and two activities have status CNF, and one activity has status PCNF (Partially confirmed)
When I re-schedule the project  the Early start date of the Partially confirmed activity is getting transferred.
Ideally the Early start / Actual start of the CNF activity should be transferred to the WBS level.
Due to this when I "determine actual dates" @ WBS level, it gets over written after scheduling.
For WBS I Re-schedule using Top Down ; Forward in time ; WBS determines dates
For Network I Re-schedule using Strict bottom up ; Backward in Time ; Network Determines Dates
I have ticked Adjust Basic dates & Start in PAst 999 ; but still the Actual start dates of confirmed activities are not transferred.
    Please help me

    Hi,
I tried the network scheduling, by check marking on the "shift order" flag, but there is no change in the result.
But If I  uncheck the "Adjust Basic Dates", then I get the required result, but I am not sure whether it is the correct way. Please give your views on this.
Also I need to check the results & CNE5 report, in case of delayed confirmation (normal duration is 5 days & Actual duration based on confirmation is 10 days),. I think in this case I may need to adjust the basic dates also while rescheduling.

    Machine
    Labor
    Factory Overhead
The unit of these activities are totally allocated even if i am going for a partial confirmation or i finally confirmed the process order even for 800 units. The unit and cost of these activities is charged on the basis of 1000 initially planned units.
