Different characterlistic of material in Inventory

Hi all
Is there a way to distinguish different type characterlistic of a material when GR.
IE
Good Receipt of product A from production. However out of the 100 piece, 30 of them are packed with english manual, 40 of them are packed with chinese manuals, and 30 of them are packed in japanese manuals. However they are the same product.
Is there any way for me to distingush this in inventory ( MMBE ) if i were to use the same material ID ?

Hi
You May create Separate Storage locations as per the Names and store the materials in respective storage locations
Thanks

  • Difference Between Raw Material and Inventory Account

    Hi Experts,
can you pls explain me the difference between raw material account and inventory account opened under Asset Drawer in Chart Of Account ??

    Hi Divya.......
There is no difference between raw material and inventory account. Infact the raw material is nothing but stock and stock includes the finished semifinished product also. In short the stock account belongs to the category inventory account.......

  • Different Tax base in pricing procedure for a single sales order for different line item material.

    Hi,
I have a scenario wherein in a sales order, for two different material, the tax base of pricing should get triggered on the basis of sold to party and the material entered at line item level.
Logic triggers on the basis of Region of Customer & a unique field in the Material Master but problem comes in the calculation of Tax base as the sequence of condition type (from – to)  is already defined in the pricing procedure to pick from a particular step but in second line item the base is different i.e. the sequence of condition types that are maintained in pricing procedure should be different for Tax to calculate differently.
Kindly suggest if the same can be handled in a single pricing procedure and dynamically taking care of condition type sequence through Alt Cal Base Formula, so far I’ve tried both Alt Cal Formula & Base but it is not working
Client doesn’t want to go ahead by creating two different orders (through separate Pricing Procedure) for that. They want to have both materials in same order.
Kindly suggest a suitable way to handle this scenario.

    Hi,
Click on the ''check availability'' button at item overview and then click on ''One-time delivery'' on the top. This will ensure that you will have only one delivery for whatever quantity is confirmed on that date.
If you want to apply this rule for all orders across a sales area, then you can do the below configuration step :
SPRO->sales and distribution->basic functions->availability check with ATP logic->Define default settings-> Here in avail. checking rule select A (one time delivery). This will ensure that all orders created for a particular sales area will have only one delivery.
    Hope this helps.

  • Regarding shrinkage of material in inventory

    Hi group,
I have a situation and I would like to have your inputs on this.
From a business process standpoint, when we receive in vendor consigned material (subjected to shrinkage), an accounting entry does not occur since we have not taken ownership.  As we use the material we use a goods movement that moves the inventory into the plant and hence triggering an accounting entry.  This accounting entry results in creation of an automatic vendor invoice.  This is all a part of the standard SAP vendor consignment process at my company.
When shrinkage occurs, we apparently still need to pay the vendor but we wouldn’t reflect the pounds/tons coming into our inventory.  There must be a way to do a cycle count of the vendor consigned or reflect the inventory loss so we can figure out what we owe the vendor without impacting our inventories.
Is inventory counting before using the material from the consignment only solution to this? Has anyone come across such a situation?
Please reply. Points will be awarded

    Hi group,
Let me rephrase the query which i have.
We get some tonnes of a material from a vendor as consignment stock. Now this material shrinks with time. Currently an automatic payment is setup for the vendor whenever we take in goods from the consignment. Now suppose we have 100 tonnes of this stock from the vendor and on the very first day we use 50 tonnes. Now after 15 days we are weighing the material again to ensure how much we have in the consignment and it comes to 45 tonnes. So there is a shrinkage of 5 tonnes. Now is there any way out by which we would take in the 45 tonnes and pay the vendor for 45 tonnes and for the rest of the 5 tonnes the vendor doesnt get paid. Basically we need to move in those 5 tonnes to ensure that the related PO gets closed but we dont want to pay the vendor for those 5 tonnes.
Please let me know if you need any extra information

  • Different sequence between original physical inventory doc & the one on RF

    Hi,
We've implemented warehouse management with RF, the problem is,
    1) I created one physical inventory docuemtn via tcode LX26,
there're 3 lines in the physical inventory docuement, and the
      sequence is:
        item 10, material A
         item 20 material  B
        item 30, material C
    2) But when I perform stocktaking count via tcode LM50, the system show me the physical inventory doc with the following
    sequence:
        item 20, material B
        item 10 material  A
        item 30, material C
The problem is, I didn't set any sort profile for the inventory counting, and there's no place for me to do such kind of settings,
    so what's the reason?
    Kindly please advise.
    Regards

This recount procedure is of no use for you, or did you really have no movement during the last 2 periods?
Just delete the document and create a new document and count again. Take it as a learning session, you will never forget to post the difference again.

    exp:
    base unit: 10 pc
    sales unit : 1 KAR.
also i need to display this sales unit at purchasing and sales cubes.
how can i do this ?
    Regards,
    yuval

    Hi Yuval,
This is related to Material Master -0MATERIAL.
Not surebut I think the UoM are getting captured in material master...check it out...else they may be there in either MARA,MARC,MARD or any of the material related tables..check with Functional Consultant.
Enhance the material master with the these UoM and then stamp them in the Cube while loading.
    Or
Create a seperate master for this.
For calculations ..you can also make Char as Key Figure and use them calclualtons.....Google how to do it.
Let us know if you require any further info.

  • Different Valuations for material under a Plant

    Dear experts,
I have created the a plant & assigned different storage locations under the plant. Is it possible to have MAP (Valuation) at storage location level?
Is it possible to have split valuation at a plant level or is it at the Company code level?
If it is possible can you send the configuration to my ID vskrishna#gmail.com

    Useful answers duly rewarded

    Hi,
It is not possible to have split valuation activated at storage location level. But yes, it is possible to activate it at plant level.
In Material Master Table, at the time of creation of master data, there is a field in Accounting-1 view. The field name is "Valuation Category".
OMWC & OMW0 are t-codes for configuring & activating split valuation.
Specify the valuation category (u can create user defined category also as per your requirement) when creating material at plant level and goto organizational level tab. Select valuation type created through above t-codes to split valuation of material.
Also please note and ensure that if you want to have split valuation of a particular material then it has to have price indicator "V" at header level. And only at split level you can have indicator "S". Bocs if you put indicator "S" at header level you can not have split valuation activated.
please revert in case of any doubt.

  • Error message rgd. Material Movements / Inventory Management

    Hello,
We have Problem to load Material Movements data in Inventory Management InfoCube.
On BW-Side we had deleted Inventory Management InfoCube content completely before we started with opening stock, Material Movements.
We have filled set up tables for opening stocks, Material Movements and Revaluation successfully on R/3 Side. We have also filled archive data for Material Movements and Revaluation in set up tables.
We have loaded the opening stock balance into InfoCube. The request containing the opening
    stock has been compressed.
We are trying to load the material movements (Initialize delta) into Cube. We get the error message:
u201CThe material XXXXXXXX does not exist or is not activatedu201D.
We have analyzed these materials (from error message) and find out that these materials are already archived on R/3 side but these materials are in Master Data table on BW-Side.
How we can deal with this problem? The BW-System is SAP NetWeaver 2004s (Support
Package SAPKW70016). The SAP R/3-System is SAP ECC 6.0.
We had same proceeding in March 2008 with BW 3.0B and R/3 4.7 and had no problem at all.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Hope u have loaded the master data in BW side and also activated the Master data i.e i assume that u have done Attribut change run.

  • PGI not consuming packaging material from inventory

    Hi all,
I have packaging material X with no inventory in the system. I am using this material X in a handling unit, so when I perform my goods issue, I expect it to decrease the inventory of this material by 1 unit. Since the inventory levels of this material is 0, there is no material to consume and I therefore shouldn't be allowed to post my goods issue. However this is not the case and I am able to PGI with no problems.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks,
    Edited by: pistols123 on Nov 9, 2011 10:57 PM

    Hi,
I've checked and the update quantity/value fields are ticked.
I've also set 'gen pack. matl item' in my delivery type too. However when I goods issue, it is still not consuming my packaging materials from inventory.
Does the storage location have to be HU managed?

  • PR Item Text Different for same Material in the same Plant.

I have a Query for SAP MM.
    Below is the Scenario:
User raises a PR through SAP for a particular Material (Spare) which belongs to an Equipment.
Let's say in Plant A, we have an Equipment 10001 & it has a sub-Equipment as 1000112 & further it has a spare which belongs to the sub-equipment as 1000001.
Now when the user raises a PR for 1000001 then he wants to automatically populate the information in the Item Detail Text tab  such as:
    Equipment No.: 10001
    Sub-Equipment No.: 1000112
The above text enables the vendor to track & source the correct material.
The problem here is that the same material is being used in the same plant for another equipment also, hence we cant just update the PO text in the Material Master record.
How to map the above in the std SAP system???
Require your help / expert comments.
    Regards,
    Yogesh.

    Hello friend,
i feel that u want to send the material to the supplier of that equipment for sum work,
then it would b better that u maintain the supplier model no. or manufacturing part no. which u can give in the detail.
it would be better to give the manufacturer part no. The manufacturer can more easil track the part by giving the manufacturer part no, rather then giving your own SAP No.
and regarding the SUB-Equipment and its part no. there is no standard functionality.

  • Material Ledger - Inventory Difference Postings ( DUV )

    Dear all,
I am working on getting this functionality to work and I would like to include all inventory difference
related movement types. Is this possible with using the follow-on movement types? I think it is, but
would like an answer from some of you.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Eric

    Hi Sridhar,
    thanks for the feedback.
I have one more question. The SAP Documentation states that
"If you want to distribute inventory differences, you must set the indicator distribute differences"
Can you or someone else tell me where to set this indicator?
    Thanks and kind regards,

  • IQ09 - Different process for material with bacth Split and no Batch

    Hello,
i want to know if IQ09 treats material with batch number and no batch in the same way for fetching the serial number.
view V_EQUI_EQBS_SML is used to fetch the serial numbers.
i just need to confirm if the process is same in case a material has batch & no Batch together.
    Thanks
    Renu

    Hi,
We faced the same problem and went back to option:
Cont.Ins Lot creation (QMAT-CHG) = "For each Material Document item
This solves the problem and was in our case the solution for receipts from production. But at goods receipt for purchase orders we still use the option for each material document, batch and SL.
There we pick up the materials in WM by hand by scanning the bar codes on the pallets (printed at GR). The transfer order creates a negative quant in unrestricted use that is later filled by the automatic usage decision that moves the stock from quality to unrestricted in the same bin.
    Hope this helps.....

  • How to inventory packing material on Handling Units frm Inbound Del @ PO?

I am receiving raw material against a PO via VL31N, where I pack into handling units. When I post GR for this inbound delivery, the Raw Material is getting a 101 but the packaging material is not being considered. Is there a way I can get the packaging material into inventory? I did verify the following settings as suggested in a different post here and yet the Packing materials are not considered. Any help is appreciated.
    1. there is a plant in your HU (you can control this in your packing material type in transaction VHAR; set plant determination either to A or B).
    2. there is an item category in your HU (you can control this in transaction 0184; create the following entry: EL / VERP / PACK / / ELP. If you now create an inbound delivery type EL and your packing material has item category group VERP the system will assign item category ELP to your HU.
If both requirements are met the system will generate an item in your inbound delivery after packing.
Then make sure that the item category of the HU (ELP for example) has movement type 501 assigned to it in transaction 0VLP.
If you then post the GR for your inbound delivery, the packing material will be posted on stock.

    Hello,
    It is well described in:
[Note 831204 - Delivery items for packaging materials|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/831204]
    pay atention on this prerequisit
For the relevant delivery types the 'ItemRequirement' routines
have to allow items which does not refer to a sales order.
      Standard routine 202.
