Different levels of security in application

Hi, this is the problem:
We want to create a web application that allows navigation througth "parts" with different security configuration.
Any idea about how to create and configurate each "part"?
Ex.
Sould we create a different web project for each "part"(then configuring web.xml)?
If yes, can we communicate those projects? How?

Topomorto is entirely right that the only effect that will even things out is the use of compression. That's what compression is for--normalising just boosts the entire file to peak at the amount you've preset but does not change the balance between quiet and loud.
However, I have to say that part of your problem is your specification that you don't want to "manually increase or decrease volume". Although applying some compression (and you'll have to teach yourself how to drive it) is a good idea, for professional results you still have to manually adjust/mix your audio. Every TV show, radio show or film you watch has had somebody going through this process because only your ears can decide what's right on every second of the file.
I encourage you to have a play with the volume envelope function of Audition--you'll be amazed at how quick you can get at making the adjustments--and how much better the results will be than relying on any automatic effect.

Differing levels of form security

I have a certificate form that anyone should be able to open and print, but only certain people should be able to fill out (so people who receive the certificates can't go changing them and printing copies for all their friends).
Both password and certificate security seem to be all-or-nothing propositions. Am I missing something? Is there a way to designate two levels of security, one for a specific small group and one for the rest of the world?
Everyone involved here at the office has Acrobat 7 Pro, while our customers can be expected to have Reader versions 5 and up.

Hi,
When you talk about application level security, it is nothing but member access profile. This profile determines, whether you will have the authorization to post a value / read a value from a particular member of the dimension or not.

Why are Symmetric keys shorter than ASyemmetric keys and provide the same level of security.

Can someone please help me with the following question.
Can someone please give me a brief (if possible) why Symmetric Keys which are much shorter than Asymmetric keys provide a similar level of security (e.g. take as long to crack).
I understand RSA and can to the math with a piece of paper and the Windows advanced calculator (e.g. encrypt and decrypt a sort message using a couple of small prims likes 53 and 59).
I also understand ( to a very basic level) AES e.g. 128bit block cypher (I believe a CBC cypher using an unpredictable IV)
Is there a simple answer if someone says why are Symmetric keys shorted and just as secure or it is just how it is? due to the different math?

Symmetric Key is used for same key for encrypsion & decryption but ASyemmetric key is used two keys (Public & private key) for
encrysion & decryption.
ASyemmetric
1. If Public key is used for encrypsion then private key is used for decryption
2. If private key is is used for encrypsion then public key is used for decryption.
3. It is more secure than Syemmetric

Data loading at different levels

We are using Oracle 10g and AWM 10.2 tools to re-write the current Oracle Express application. We have created couple of standard cubes in AWM and it works fine. The design confusion is in one of the case. It is explained below
We are planning to load targets into one of our AW.
Following are the details
Dimensions hierarchy
1. Time Year==> quarter==> Month
2. Point Of Sale(POS) Worldwide ==> Region ==> Country ==> Territory
3. Origin Worldwide ==> Country ==> Territory ==> City
4. Destination Worldwide ==> Country ==> Territory ==> City

rev_tgt
The challenge is, the target are set in the warehouse at different Point Of Sale levels. i.e. For some POS the targets are set at country level, for some they are set at territory levels. e.g. For India the revenue targets are set only at country level where as for France the targets are set at all the territories of France. The requirement is to show targets at all the levels in the POS above where it is set. The bottom line is that the data is not availble at a fixed level and the dimesion levels are fixed and cannot be ragged.
Query:
How we can design a cube that loads data at different levels and then aggregate the same across all dimension including the higher level of POS dimension.
Solution in the existing Oracle Express
In the current Oracle Express, what we are doing is since we have control over the aggregate program, we have created two aggmaps one with POS and one without. We do two step aggregate for the first one we limit the POS to country level and do a rollup using the aggmap that includes POS. Then we limit POS to all and aggregate using the aggmap without POS.
Can you please assist us on how to implement the above with the AWs.

Whats level of secure have apex 3.0/3.1 on the web?

before build some web applications, need to know which
level of secure have apex on the web.
I was notice security settings as AUTHORISATION SCHEME (no, admin or guest)
and AUTENTIFICATION (not public or public)
Whats level of security have any pages whith NON PUBLIC settings for users?
Is any SSL sertificate related with apex?

I think that is exactly the problem. When I am am trying to do an installation, I need an end-to-end discussion of the task for the OS and version I am installing on. In looking through the forum, you can see many examples of people trying to configure an embedded PL/SQL gateway on 10g, editing httpd.conf, dads,conf or marvel.conf for the wrong version. I realize their may be a dozen or more scenarios, but the most common (like installing the entire bit on a network disconnected Windows laptop) should be covered end-to-end.
In addition the scenario of installing a 10g HTTP server from the companion CD is not covered.
Finally, it is completely unclear that the little "/" is needed at the end when defining the /i/ alias. Looks like just part of a UNIX file convention. No Windows example.

We have one hierarchy in BW side and we hope to display differet level in same report for different column
For example, column A is for level 6. column B is for level 7.
Do you know how to releaze this in Webi side?
In the 3.X version, we have different dimension for different level.
But now in BO 4, it has been combined into one\

You can still do this in BI 4.0, if you use the old 'legacy' MDX OLAP.unv from Universe Designer tool .
Yes, with the BICS connection, you are getting a native hierarchy, as it would be displayed in an OLAP environment.

OBIEE report from multiple facts at different levels

Currently we need to develop a report with columns from 3 different facts surrounded with conformed and non conformed dimensions at different levels.
After setting the hierarchial levels and putting the facts into single logical table with different sources OBIEE is generating 2 different queries and does a full outer join.
I would like to know how we can do a left outer join instead of full outer join between the 2 queries based on a common column?

The scenario provided in the link above doesnt match to my issue.
We need to develop a report from multiple fact tables at different levels with conformed & non conformed dimension columns.
I have 7 dimensions D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7 & two fact F1 and F2 tables.
F1 is tied to dimensions D1,D2,D3,D4,d5
F2 is tied to dimensions D3,D4,D5, D6 and D7.
In my report I have columns from D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, F1 and F2.
So OBIEE generates 2 queries with columns from D1,D2,D3,D4,d5 & F1 measure and another query with D3,D4,D5, D6, D7 and F2 measure.
and then does a cross fact join out of box between 2 queries.
But I need to do a left outer join between the 2 queries on a common column instead of cross fact join. I would like to know how we can achive this.

Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of the warning that I am talking about.
Here is what I do:
1. Launch Safari and open its Preferences. I have Safari 7.1 installed on my machine.
2. Click Security Tab and click Manage WebSite Settings
3. A window opens showing me all the Plug-ins that I have (listed on the left hand side).
4. One of them is the Adobe Reader plug-in. When I click Adobe Reader, the following details about the plug-in show up on the right
I was referring to the highlighted section that warns me about this plug-in not using the highest level of security for Safari Plug-ins.
Note: I do not see this for all my plug-ins (QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player don't give me this warning) which tells me that there is a way to make the warning go away.

I have a parent child hierarchy and wish to display different levels of the hierarchy in different columns of the resultset eg
level 1 level 2

N America Canada
However writing MDX like the below
select

results in the error "The [Geo] hierarchy is used more than once in the crossjoin

Essbase cubes with different levels of detail - OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 on LINUX

Hi all,
I have BSO and ASO cubes which contain broadly the same information, but with the ASO cube at much higher detail. For simplicity sake, they only have 1 dimension, and 1 fact. The dimension a date and is structured like:
Gen2 = year
Gen3 = year & quarter
Gen4 = year & month
Gen5 = year, month & day
Only the ASO cube has Gen5. the BSO cube only has the information to Gen4 level.
I've imported them both into the RPD and dragged the ASO cube across into the BMM. and then taken the fact column from the BSO cube and dropped it onto the BMM, selected its new source ( the BSO cube ) and set the
Content tab and set the logical level as Gen4.
I then dragged the key items from the BSO date hierachy onto the date dimension in the BMM.
I purposely had a slightly different date hierachy and data content in the 2 cubes so I could tell where it was getting the data from.
If I select the year only...it gets the value from the BSO, and if I drill down to quarter and month it also gets the dates from the BSO cube.
If I select the data fact, it will switch to the ASO cube and retrieve the value from there.
Same applies if I select just the year - data comes in from the ASO cube.
So my question is this, how do I get it to select the data facts from the less detailed cube when the details is not required and only switch to the ASO cube when the extra detail is needed?

OBIEE Facts at different levels.

I am bringing columns from three tables: Two facts and one Dimension table to create a OBIEE Report.
The fact tables Workforce Event Fact and Employee Daily Snap Fact are at different levels, but both of them have proper joins with Dimension Employee Dim.
When i am pulling columns from D1 and any one of these two facts, i am not facing any problem in seeing results. But when i bring columns from all of these three tables, i am getting this error,
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 15018] Incorrectly defined logical table source (for fact table Workforce Event Fact) does not contain mapping for [Employee Daily Snap Fact.Exempt Indicator]. (HY000)
Is there anything i have to do in Business Model layer to avoid this error. Many people suggesting to assign an aggregation level for these two facts. But i am not having any Dimensional Hierarchy defined.

Hi swami,
Many people suggesting to assign an aggregation level for these two factsThis is a workaround i think where you need to create aggregate tables(not levels) and then use them for your purpose.(OR) you dint define the logical source table properly either correct it.
Another work around i could suggest is,take the 2 fact tables columns needed into one alias table and make it as fact and join this fact table to dimension table and you can get all columns.

Nesting of AGO or TODATE functions with differing level arguments is not supported

I have a column in BMM which calculates the Year-To-Date Sales. This function uses the ToDate function to caculate the YTD.
I need to develop another formula column which shows the last-year's YTD.
I develop this formula in BMM by AGO on the YTD column which already uses a ToDate function.
In BI Answers when selecting this column, results in the below message:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 22044] Nesting of AGO or TODATE functions with differing level arguments is not supported. (HY000)

To reply to my own question. It appears I got it working, that is, the error message problem is solved, but I still have questions on how to use these functions.
To get it to work, I added the primary key D_TIJD.TIJDKEY at the level of the lowest grain in my dimension (level tab).
What I still wonder is how to make it select the right values. I have the following hierarchy: bookyear - bookperiod - week. A bookperiod contains 4 or 5 weeks (4,4,5 in a quarter), so 12 periods in one year. I defined a measure at period level and another at that level with the ago function, that should return the figures for that same period of the year before. My first question is, whether to go back 12 periods or 52 weeks (which is the lowest grain in my dimension)?
The second question is how to use a combination of TODATE and AGO so that if I calculate the current period (of which only 2 weeks are passed), I also only want to include the same two weeks for that period one year ago in order to make a correct comparison. How do I do that???

Controlling the main time line of a movie via a button within a movie on a different level.

I have two movie is two different levels,
Level 5 is my base movie and I am loading another movie on
top of this into level 10.
Once the user clicks onto a button within the movie on level
10, I would like the animation in level 5 to stop (the animation
runs on the main root timeline of level 5).
Once the user clicks on a different button within the movie
on level 10, I would like the animation on the main timeline of the
movie in level 5 to start again from the point where it previously
left off.
Is this possible?
It would be great if someone could help me out with this.

just define the level number at the beginning of the path.
