Different onMouseOver Event for each row of a report

Hi all,
See
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=41861:1
As you can see in the demo, all employees of a department are shown when you click the detail link for a department. This is done with the help of AJAX technologie to avoid the submit of the page.
My question is: Is there a possibility to show the the employee report for the correct department when I move the mouse over the row of a department. In other words: what I am searching is a possiblity to define the behaviour of a certain row, so that code like
<tr onMouseOver="javascript:getEmps(1)">....</tr>
<tr onMouseOver="javascript:getEmps(2)">....</tr>
is generated.
Thank you in advance
Stephan

Hi,
for this you need to call the PLSQL function upon table rendering, which means that you need a field in the table referencing a managed bean. In the managed bean you can use #{row} and resolve it using a ValueExpression. #{row} gives you access to the current rendered row (this is why you need to do it when the table renders) and thus allows you to call getAttribute(name) to get the values of field 1 - 3. The search field value you should get through the bindings reference (assuming the search form uses ADF). Then you create an operation binding for the executeWithParameters and call operationBindingName.getParamsMap().put(argname, argvalue); on it.
Frank
Ps.: I am concerned about the performance you get and wonder if it isn't possible to create a transient attribute that executes the function and displays the results. As I understand, the search parameters are only to filter the result set, which you still can do

  • Prompting user for input for each row in the report

    Is it possible to have a user entered field for each row in a report ?
    ie. have a report with empolyee number, employee name, title, salary, and comment. Select of of these columns from the SQL query except for the comment, and then when the report is generated have the user be prompted for what the want the comment to be for every employee in the report?

    That is, have the user generating the report enter in a different comment for EACH employee. (ie Joe Smith's comment is "good worker and John Smith's comment is "come to work late on Tuesdays and Thursdays", Sally Jones' comment is "Expert in C++" etc.) as the reports is being built for each row returned from the query.

  • Anychart bar charts generated for each row of a report

    I am looking for ideas on, or existing examples of how the above requirement could be implemented in Apex 3.2.1.
    My initial thoughts are to:
    - use a pipeline table function as the report region source
    - generate the JavaScript for creating bar charts with one series of 48 points, as a column returned by the table function.
    The source data will be unlikely to be more than 15-20 records pulled from a well indexed underlying record set of several million records.
    My worry is that this may not be a particularly responsive solution and I would like to know if anyone can validate or improve on my approach?
    Cheers

    You would need to define a separate column to hold the required output for each possible parameter value in the first column.
    Each column would need to be conditional, where the condition is based upon the value in the first column, which you can reference using #column_name# syntax.
    Try that...

  • How to display different subtotal text for each group in alv report

    Hi,

    Please help me asap.

    You can create subtotals by columns.
    You would need extra column to group the materials( 1 to 10 GROUP1 20 to 30 GROUP2 by example)  and use this column for subtotals

  • Calling DB function for each row in a report

    I'd like to call a function inside a database package from my Oracle Report. My report is a very simple tabular listing and I'd like to pass one the row's column value as a parameter to my function call.
    Where would i have to write this block of code? How do I get the value of a particular column in the report? I need to pass the value to the function call.
    Thanks

    Depends what you want to do in this function. There are several possibilites:
    - Add a formula column to your data model.
    - Directly call the function in your query:
    select col1, col2, my_package.my_function(col1) return_value
    from my_table
    where ...The 2nd option would be my preferred one.

  • Drop Down List in a table - different options for each row

    How can i have a drop down list in a table with different options for each row?
    My requirement is this.. I want to display, say employee dtails in a table, and one column is employee hobbies, whcih can have multiple values and each employee may have a different list of hobbies. So how can we populate the drop down for each row, with different options?

    Hey. Uh, this probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but it sounds like you've got a problem with your database design there. Generally speaking, your tables shouldn't have multi-valued fields, in the relational model anyway (sql). Instead, you should look at adding a separate table like EMPLOYEE_HOBBIES. Then you have a foreign key using the employees primary key as the foreign key in the employee_hobbies table, see what I mean? I might have misunderstood your explanation though, I'm not sure.
    Alternatively, you could just have hobbies as a big freeform varchar field, and don't bother to make people separate their hobbies into different fields (you'd have to abandon the drop-down listbox idea in this case). If there's no really important reason to make the distinction, then it's probably easier just to not do it.

  • How to add a comment for each row on the output of a report?

    I would like to add a comment (field) for each row on the output of report? This comment should to be saved as well. Is there a way i can do that?
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi Dimitri,
    through the instead of trigger functionality i am able to update the view. This is view is based on different views which should be linked to a table (as you suggested) in which comments can be stored. Hower this table is empty and how to link this table with the view now? I face the following challenge.
    View consists the following columns, for example
    select name, sex, age from test_view
    name sex age
    John M 20
    Anton M 30
    Willy M 40
    shirley F 38
    sharon F 37
    The report has the following output, for example
    name     sex age
    John     M 20
    Anton     M 30
    Willy M 40
    Shirley F 38
    Sharon F 37
    Now i would like to add comment through a button.
    The report layout looks like
    name sex age
    John M 20 <add comment button>
    After submitting the <add comment button> you can enter text which deals with John
    text='John doesnot like me'
    Finally the report display the comment as well
    name sex age
    John M 20 'John doesnot like me' <update/delete comment button>
    Anton M 30 <add comment button>
    Willy M 40 <add comment button>
    Shirley F 38 <add comment button>
    Sharon F 37 <add comment button>
    After submitting the <update/delete button> you can change or delete the entered text.
    I hope this example clears things up.

The coding works, so that I have all the data at the right place in my table, only the images are shown as a string, because the cells of these rows have the cell editor Text_View. I tried something with cell variants (with cl_wd_table_standard_cell), but it was not possible for me to get a cell variant "image" in these cells/rows were I need it.

  • Select item on a Tabular form with a different dynamic LOV on each row

    I would like to use a tabular form where one of the columns is a dynamic LOV based Select, and where that dynamic LOV refers to one of the column values on each row.
    So if the tabular form represented a list of teams and the LOV-based Select column was the current team leader, I would want that select list to be populated only with the members of that team (different for each row). Since the list of team members is in some other table (all_players or something) I would want to populate the LOV with a query with a where clause that selected only those players records with a team-membership equal to the current tabular form's team id. So, on each row that select list's contents would be different.
    -- Justin

    I'm beating a dead horse here but I did get something to work with "less" code. My current needs do not require me to cascade drop downs, I only want 1. You can use the query like the in the first reply (but I don't have a table with joins) I created a simple two column table dept_emp with 4 records 10,null 20,null .... I want to fill the nulls with an employee but ONLY an employee that matches the dept. (Same concept of team leader and members).
    Here's the query:
    select apex_item.display_and_save(1,dept) dept,
    apex_item.select_list_from_query(2, name, 'select ename from emp where deptno='||dept) name
    from dept_emp
    I removed the code that was there already (ApplyMRU) and just put in this code:
    BEGIN
    FOR i IN 1..HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    UPDATE dept_emp
    SET
    name=HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02(i)
    WHERE dept=to_number(HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i));
    END LOOP;
    END;
    The G_F01 matches the column 1 and so forth. There's more documentation but little explanation at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/appdev.102/b25309/api.htm#sthref2171
    The thing I could not get to work was a dynamic message
    #MRU_COUNT# row(s) updated, #MRI_COUNT# row(s) inserted.
    Not sure when the MRU_COUNT gets populated (probably in the routine I removed ;))
    You're probably way past me by now but I like to have as little code as possible when it comes to maintaining an app. That's why I liked oracle forms so much. This kind of stuff was pretty easy to do.
    Thanks again everybody!

  • Formula Variable for Each Row

    Is there any way to make the formula variable take different values for different rows in a given report?  Our requirement is that each sales division in US will be approved of a certain percentage of rebate that it can use.  In the report one should see the net sales value after considering the % rebate.  For e.g., US has East, West, South, Central and Midwest Sales Divisions.  There are 5 product lines, prod1 to prod5.  The client will maintain a Z table for all the combinations of Sales division and Product line (i.e., East & prod1 - 10%, East & prod2 - 3%...  Midwest & prod5 - 5%).  Actual sales done in each sales division will not have these rebates considered.  So at the corporate level when the report is executed, the query should be able to apply the corresponding values to the actual sales.  Is it possible with BEx?  As far as I know, the user exit is not executed for each row.  Hope I was lucid enough to explain the problem at hand and if anyone has any effective ideas on this issue, please post your thoughts here.  Thanks a ton in advance.

    Hi,
    I doubt that you'll be able to do it in BEx.
    The easiest way is to include a rebate into your infoprovider.

  • Raise expection for each row if returned set contains x

    Hello Guys,
    I have the following code and almost gave up on the idea to raise an exception and print
    a line for each row where the sales price is < 10. I know how this works with a CURSOR but I want to try it without it. Thinking about it let me to the conclusion that this is not possible to act on individual row results on a set based operation. I will have to use a CURSOR (not set based so I can look at each row).
    Am I thinking correctly?

    Hi 3360,
    I am using PL/SQL. I can make my point without any code.
    The question, in a different format is this:
    Can I throw an whatever exception (or dbms_output put line) for individual rows WITHOUT using a cursor.
    My answer (and I just need clarification on this):
    *(1)* No, because anything apart from a cursor is set-based and set-based operations (select, join, union)
    can not through exceptions on individual rows.
    *(2)* Yes, you can have a DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE with whatever exception on a set based operation
    for each individual row that causes the exception (I dont think this answer is true :)
    @Agustin UN, thanks for that. I know that is possible :) The problem is,
    that I dont think I can print or fetch each individual row that causes the "exception" since
    it is treated as a set. - I am welcome for someone to tell me that it work nevertheless

  • :new., lob columns and after insert ... for each row trigger

    I'm having this little problem with
    my update/insert triggers and lob columns.
    I have this little trigger:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER BLOB_DATA_INSERT
    AFTER INSERT ON BLOB_DATA
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO BLOB_DATA_CHANGE VALUES(CHANGE_SEQ.NEXTVAL, 'I', :NEW.ID,:NEW.DATA);
    END;
    Which works except when the DATA column
    is a BLOB or CLOB (There is no data in :NEW.DATA. I even tried some of the DBMS_LOB package procedures)
    The one thing that is different for the lob columns is that the application updating
    the data is using a bind statement with returning, like:
    INSERT INTO BLOB_DATA
    VALUES(:ID,EMPTY_BLOB())
    RETURNING DATA INTO :DATA;
    COMMIT;
    Thanks for any help

  • How do I set up different icloud accounts for each family member and make them able to access them on our common mac using their user name on the mac.  I am doing this to make sure kids don't get access to our messages.

    We have several apple products in the family.  I would like to set up different icloud accounts for each memeber.  I lately noticed having activated different devices with same icloud account that each device can access everyones messages by going in their settings and clicking which number or email they want to use to see messages.  Let me make sure I am understood, on my sons ipod in his messages settings he can switch to my cell number and see all my messages.  Re setting the devices isn't my great issue but can i set up each kids user account on my mac to their individual icloud accounts?
    Thanks!

    Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
    On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).
