Different User views

Hi,
I have a requirement for two different users. User1 gets to enter everything into the database and User2 should only see what is in the database. User1 is ok. But, user2 if I give only select privilege on those tables, form doesn't work because it can't generate a new record. Could you suggest the right way of doing this? Thank you,
Srilakshmi

Ok. Let me try again.

  • How can I see the Query view created for a different user

    Hi All,
How can a user see the View of a query created for a different user??
I would like some info about how to give access ( if it is a access problem) or tell me the steps to do that.
    Regards, Federico

    Hi all,
Maybe I didn't explain me as i should or maybe you dont know what is a Query View. Lets try again, showing you the steps to open a "Query view".
This way is from Bex Analyzer (Excel)
I open the Bex Analyzer and connect to the system -> Open query -> Under "Type" choose "Query View"...this is just a different view of the original query (more or least columns/rows).
This way is from Bex Web:
Once you open/execute the query, you have a ComboBox to choose the view (previously saved)
The problem that we have is that the views created for a user, can NOT be found by other user. The only user who can is the owner.
Could it be an authorization problem? or is ther any configuration possible to see it?
    Thanks in advance, Federico

  • Specifying different initial views for different users in ALV web dynpro

    Hi Friends,
I need to have 2 different initial view for my web dynpro application eg: View1 and View2. There will 2 group of users using the respective Views. However the first group should not be able to see other view(View2) and vice versa.
Please tell me whether it is possible and if yes then how to do it.
    Regards,
    Saud

    Hi,
the ALV component has a public attribute - R_COMPONENT which is of type ref to IF_SALV_WD_COMPONENT_TABLE
you can call GET_PERSONALISATION on this reference to return a reference to the interface IF_SALV_WD_COMP_TABLE_PERS. This in turn has a method - SET_STANDARD_VIEW.
I think that this should allow you to set which ever view you want.
    Hope it helps,
    Chris

  • Different Directory views for users

How can I achieve different directory views on user's phones for different types of users using DCD?
This is for a Centrex type of service.

OK. I see this posting which mentions installing the IP Services SDK for such applications.
    http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Unified%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=IP%20Phone%20Services%20for%20Developers&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1ddc61e0/0#selected_message
I find it hard to believe that there is not an easier way.
Why can't there be a directory-profile setting or a setting in the device profile to group users?

  • Viewing different user's constraints, triggers, synonyms etc.

I have a doubt as to how to view a different user's constraints, triggers, synonyms. If, we have to see a different user's tables, we use the syntax,
    select * from username.table_name
provided we have select rights on that table of the user. Similarly, do we need view rights on the other user's indexes.
Please help in solving my doubt as i need it resolved urgently.

do we need view rights on the other user's indexes. No, once the appropriate access to the concerned object has been granted, any indexes on that object (if appropriate) will automatically be used by the database.
Once you have access to the other users tables, the indexes on that table automatically are visible to you.
You could see the objects using ALL_OBJECTS or the ALL_INDEXES dictionary view.

You said "how to view a different user's indexes"
Do you mean you want to see the details of the index ?
Provided you have the privileges on the other users table
    you can use
    Select * from all_indexes where index_name = <index_name>
    and owner = <OWNER>
    OR
    Select * from all_ind_columns where index_name = <index_name>
    and index_owner = <OWNER>

  • Creating a .pdf with different page views

I'm tyring to create a .pdf with different page views.  For example as the viewer goes through the .pdf some pages I would like viewed as "single page view" and others "two page view".  Is this possible?   I'm working with Adobe Acrobate Pro.  Thanks for any suggestions.

It's possible to use the Page Open actions to trigger a view mode change but it's messy - if the user tries to override them because they prefer to zoom in, etc. then they'll get very annoyed when things keep resetting.
To create a Page Open action, open the thumbnails panel, right-click on a page, choose Page Properties, then the Actions tab. You can use the Execute a Menu Item tool to fire one of the view modes.

  • How can i share photos on the same mac but different users?

how can i share photos on the same mac but different users? we have different iphoto acounts and just want to be able to look under users in the finder and view another users iphoto.

You may try moving ur librarie to the folder /Users/shared if and link it to iphoto from there
You may locate and link libraries from arkiv-->change library in iphoto

  • Sharing iphoto library on the same computer between different users

Can anyone tell me how (without having to write my own code) I can share photos easily (so I can teach my parents, who know nothing about mac, how to do it) between different users on the SAME COMPUTER?
I am so frustrated! You can share with anyone else in the world, but when it is on the same computer I can't figure out how to share!

    Hi Mereditty,
Here are all the links I have for sharing a couple of different ways.
    SHARING IPHOTO LIBRARIES
Sharing libraries between users on the same local network
You can also share a library on the same machine between users the same way.
Sharing libraries between users on the same machine...
-both users must have sharing enabled in their iPhoto Preferences
-both users must be logged in and have iPhoto running
-Remember that you can only view the other library. You can't edit the photos or play the saved slideshows or view the made books or burn them to CD or DVD. The books and slideshows will show up as an album. You can play that album as an "on the fly" slideshow. You can drag images from the sharing library to your library in the source column to import them to your library. You can then edit, add to albums, books, slideshow, etc.

SHARING ONE IPHOTO LIBRARY BETWEEN USERS ON SAME MACHINE
You can try one of these three methods:
1- Use iPhoto Library Manager-the paid version
The documentation page will give instructions on how it is done.
2- Sharing one iPhoto library between several users on one machine
3- Share an iPhoto Library in tiger Using ACL's
4- I have also read about ShareAlike
There is no other info on the site about how it works.
I strongly urge anyone wanting to try any of the methods for sharing one iPhoto Library folder among more than one user to backup all iPhoto Library folders before attemptin anything.

  • Connect from iPad to MacbookPro as a different user?

Here is, in a nutshell, what I would like to do:
I would like to log in to my MacbookPro as user "me" from an iPad,
while someone else is already logged in on the Macbook the conventional way as "he".
I would like to do my email, using the Mail app on my Macbook, while my kids are watching a movie on it,
and even if they are logged in under there account.
IIRC, this used to be possible on Unix/Linux (I grew up under Unix about 15 years ago).
I have tried screen sharing and a VNC client on the iPad (VNC viewer from RealVNC), but
    1. it seems to work only if the VNC server is running on the Macbook;
    2. I don't see how I can log in as a different user *and* have my own GUI session.
I read posts on the internet that claim that it is possible to do what I want, and they seem to refer
to VNC and/or Apple's Screen Sharing, but I didn't find any specific details.
Yes, I have Screen Sharing on under System Preferences > Sharing.
Any insights, pointers, and hints will be highly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Gabriel.
    PS:
The iPad needs to be registered with my son's Apple ID because he needs it in school.
    PS:
Yes, I could install a second mail client on the iPad, but then I still would not have access to all the local mail folders on my MacBook.

Yes, you are right, my logout url is re-directed to the login page.
However, I tried to add the logout url in authentication scheme as you said, it does not work.
error msg: No functional attributes may be set when page sentry function is '-DATABASE-'.
    My project is:
I have a oracle database with tables, functions/procedures/packages. The role privilege to access the database has been granted to a few users. Then, I developed an application in apex to access the database and run procedures.
I expect the security of apex application log in is: the users who can access the database can use the application.
    So what I did:
    1) I set up the authentication scheme of the application as 'database' scheme, The detail is as following:
Description: Use database authentication (user identified by DAD).
Page Session Management: Page sentry function: -DATABASE-
the left areas are all null.
2)I developed a home page (page1): the detail is as follows:
regions: html region with a logo linked to page2
item: url item, source: pl/sql function get_url(), maintain session state as per session
computation: get_url(). It only has one command to return database http login address, to ask enter username and password. BeginThis function is expected to require and provoke a database login
when the application computes the above item using this function.
branch: after log in branch to page2.
    3) set up a Navigation Bar for logout as :
    wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.logout?p_this_flow=&APP_ID.&p_next_flow_page_sess=&APP_ID.:1
The purpose of provoking database login has come true.
However, the problem is: after I logout from the application and it redirected to page1, when I tried to log in again as a different user, it will automatically log in as the former user (without asking username and password). I have to close the IE, and rerun IE, then I can log in as another user.
I hope I have expained it clearly.
    Cheers.

  • How to access mail if different users use same email - sent, trash, etc, are not the same in both user's thunderbird. How do I fix that?

I have different users on my computer, me, spouse, etc. We share the same email. I have thunderbird loaded correctly in one account. In the other account it only grabs the inbox messages, not the sent messages. How do I get it so both thunderbirds work in both accounts on the same computer? Right now I need to switch user to view the sent emails that are sent from the other account.

IMAP will sync messages, but if your sharing on a single computer you would probably be better off sharing the same profile. It is not as if you will both be using it at the same time. The information in this link should help with that.

  • I upgraded to iOS x mavericks on my iMac now i cannot access my iPhoto i get this messageThis update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

I upgraded to iOS x mavericks on my iMac now i cannot access my iPhoto i get this messageThis update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. I have not changed anything thankyou for any info.

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
    Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
    Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, elect the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
    Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
    Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
    Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.

  • Project Server 2010 - Different Schedule Dates for Different Users -- Same File

We have an issue regarding users viewing the same schedule, different machines.
The PMs have a schedule that was built in 2007 by the offshore team.  We are running Project Server 2010 corporate, and they the PMs here on site have Project Professional 2010.  Within the last couple of weeks, the PMs have noticed changes in
    the dates.
When I open the schedule, I see the expected dates rendered in both PWA and Project Professional.  Both draft and published versions are the same regardless of where the schedule is opened for editing.  There are two PMs managing the schedules.
One sees what I see--the expected dates.  The other sees differences in dates--months, in fact.  Scheduled end date is 10/22/2013.   When the second PM opens the schedule, he sees a scheduled end date of 2/17/2014.
I advised them that the offshore team needed to upgrade to 2010 due to the differences between 2007 and 2010.  Additionally, and I could be wrong, having the server run in compability mode for so long (the upgrade was done in May 2013), is not ideal.
(Offshore team has since updated to 2010.)
Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue?  Corrupt version of Professional?  Settings askew?
    Thank you,
    L.D.

My bad, I didn't know that you were not using Project Server.
Then the file might be corrupted.
    Try the
    XML export and the
save for sharing method to repair it.

  • BPM Workspace User view related issue

    PROBLEM SUMMARY_
Unable to see filtering options like SEARCH, ASSIGNEE and STATE in User View, I am able to see this in Generic Inbox of BPM workspace
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION_
I am new to BPM & need some assistance on below scenario-
    TASKS INVOLVED-*
My BPM process contains 2 tasks
    1.     Initiator task-[Part of Requester role in my JDev Swim lane]
    2.     User Task-To review the request-[Part of Reviewer role in my JDev Swim lane]
    SCENARIO-+
Flow would be something like, requester enters details in request message & says submit. If request message length is less than 6 characters a review would be required & therefore process flow would go to reviewer task. Reviewer can Approve or Reject the request, if he approves the process will write the request message contents to a file, if the reviewer Rejects the request, requester task would be created again so as to ask requester to enter a message of length>6.
If entered request message is having length greater than 6, no review would be required. It will be a direct file write.
    CHALLENGE-+
The challenge is each of these tasks –Initiator task & Review task would be created with DIFFERENT task numbers in BPM workspace, which I do NOT want. I want the Requester tasks task number to be propagated to Reviewer task and I would want to populate this as task number (May be under different column, say Request Id) of Reviewer task as well.
After reading Oracle BPM docs, I studied that this can achieved using Human tasks-Mapped variable concept.
I used protected mapped variable/flex variable:*Request Id* in both the above tasks to achieve this.
    PROBLEM-*
Problem is in BPM workspace’s user view, here we go-
I created a user view:*HelloWorld* to display the task details, the columns I want are the default columns+Column for mapped attribute:*Request Id*.
Now even though the Request Id column is populated as expected, I cannot filter the View entries based on Assignee, State or perform any kind of other searches.
I understand that User views are built based basically on certain filters itself. But post the view creation if user has to make a search-say based on Mapped attribute:*Request Id* in this case, he won’t be able to do so.
This defeats the entire purpose of Mapped attributes. Oracle document says (check the last bullet point)-
+"Human workflow mapped attributes (formerly referred to as flex fields) store and query use case-specific custom attributes. These custom attributes typically come from the task payload values. Storing custom attributes in mapped attributes provides the following benefits:+
+•     They can be displayed as a column in the task listing+
+•     They can filter tasks in custom views and advanced searches+
    *+•     They can be used for a keyword-based search"+*
So is this a bug with user views in workspace?
One more thing that I would like to add-Reason behind using Custom user views is-
    1)     Generic Inbox of BPM Workspace does not give option to make the mapped attribute get displayed/Searched
    2)     I want to customize the Tasklist.

    Oh well...
It seems there's a bug with the XE Database... Sometimes it freezes some components and the SOA Plataform goes crazy.
    Simple system reboot solved.

  • Same color profile looks different on different users

My main user account displays colors differently than the other accounts I have on my iMac. I've eliminated all custom Colorsync profiles from the Library folders of the user accounts, so all users are using the standard iMac profile. There is a very clear difference when viewing the same TIFF or Photoshop files with the same applications but from different user accounts. For what it's worth, my main account displays much higher contrast than the other accounts.
I'm not sure what is making my main account behave differently from the others, but I'd like to get rid of it. (I removed two com.apple.ColorSync*.plist files from my main account Preferences folder, but this had no effect.) Anyone have any ideas?
    iMac G4 17; iBook G4 1.33 Mhz 14; iPod 3G 20GB   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hello.
You may well be better off asking in the Panther forums as the users there may have more specific ColorSync experience.
In the meantime have a read of this article about using ColorSync First Aid.
