Differnce between prt and testing equipment

Hi friends ,
how to assign a prt to a operation automatically.
Also please let me know can i assign a equipment(testing fixture) to an operation and if yes how.

Hi,
PRTs belong to the group of operating resources. PRTs are involved in the production process. They are also used to support or to fulfill the prerequisites for performing a maintenance task.
Possible PRTs are, for example, tools, measuring equipment, drawings, NC programs, cranes.
You create the PRT as equipment by IE25 OR Choose Logistics-   Project System--   Basic data-----   Master data
  Equipment -
  Create.
You can assign your equipment PRT to routing operation.
Hope it helps you.

  • DataSource / Structures mismatched between Dev and Test Systems. ..!!

    Hi,
We are doing a scenario. Where XI will update the data into PSA through ABAP proxy.
Scenario worked perfectly in development system.
We transported the objects from Dev to test. The Strucures are mismatched in SE11 between development and Test systems as below.
Data sources (ZDS_RECIHDR and ZDS_RECTPALL) looks ok. But when I saw the structures in SE11 they are not correct, they got mismatched.
    Development:
    /BIC/CQZDS_REC00001000 - Header (ZDS_RECIHDR)
    /BIC/CQZDS_REC00003000 - Allocation (ZDS_RECTPALL)
    Test:
    /BIC/CQZDS_REC00001000 - Allocation (ZDS_RECTPALL)
    /BIC/CQZDS_REC00003000 - Header (ZDS_RECIHDR)
Kindly let me know where it might have gone wrong?

what is the basic differnce between 000 and 001 clients?
why do we use client 000 as source client while client copy?

    Hi Kumar
The basic difference between Client 000 and Client 001 is that Client 000 is client independent instace while Client 001 is Client dependent.
Client 000 is SAP source client while Client 001 doesn't exits for every installation.

  • Differnce between unicode and non unicode

Hi every body i want to differnce  between unicode and non unicode and for what purposes this ulities are used explain me little brief what is t code for that , how to checj version, how to convert uni to non uni ?
    Advance Thanks
    Vishnuprasad.G

    Hello Vishnu,
before Release 6.10, SAP software only used codes where every character is displayed by one byte, therefore character sets like these are also called single-byte codepages. However, every one of these character sets is only suitable for a limited number of languages.
Problems arise if you try to work with texts written in different incompatible character sets in one central system. If, for example, a system only has a West European character set, other characters cannot be correctly processed.
As of 6.10, to resolve these issues, SAP has introduced Unicode. Each character is generally mapped using 2 bytes and this offers a maximum of 65 536 bit combinations.
Thus, a Unicode-compatible ABAP program is one where all Unicode checks are in effect. Such programs return the same results in UC systems as in non-UC systems. To perform the relevant syntax checks, you must activate the "UC checks" flag in the screens of the program and class attributes.
With TC: /nUCCHECH you can check a program set for a syntax errors in UC environment.
    Bye,
    Peter

Periodic billing is used when you want to bill the customer at different points of time based on the periodicity or progress of the work. Milestone billing can be used for this type of billing purposes when you want to have billing control from the project.
Resource billing is based on the resource consumption for the particular activities. Dynamic Item Processor (DIP) profile is used for the resource related billing.

    Hi ,
/n ends the particular transaction .
    /bend -  This means batch end .
This comes only in BDC concept .This is where you transfer data from the legacy system to sap R/3 system .When you are performing recording process and you dont want to continue any more you give /bend .

  • Migrate BI+ Workspace content between production and test (S9203)

Is there an (easy) solution to migrate contents between production and test in BI+ Workspace S9.2.9.0.3? I know I could extract the contents and then just import but that way I lose the object permissions. BI+ migration utility only supports migrations from older versions and not between the same version.

That isn't a problem, if you do it this way:
have all your environment specific configurations (e.g. translation.com password and connector data) in OSGI configuration nodes in the repository.
Use runmodes to pin certain configurations to a certain runmode.
Have dedicated runmodes for PROD and for TEST
In that case you could update your TEST environment like this:
Restore the instance from PROD backup
Change the runmode definition in the start script
    Start it up.

  • Diff between prt and raw material type

what is the difference between PRT and raw material material type

    Hi,
Any material type defines the material views (Basic,Purchasing,Storage,Accounting....), Whether internally procured or extrenally procured, special type.
whether it requires Qty & Value updation,
Standard material type for Raw Materials is ROH
Raw materials are always procured externally and then processed. A material master record of this type contains purchasing data, but not sales data since they cannot be sold.
But there is no Std Material type PRT, & if you are meaning FERT it is a finished goods material type.
Finished products are produced in-house. Since they cannot be ordered by Purchasing, a material master record of this material type does not contain purchasing data.
    Reward if found useful.

  • Wht is the difference between PRT and testequipment

    Dear Experts,
i have small confusion about the test equipment and PRT, for both of these we can do the calibration. Test equipments are used for the Cross verify the production as per the standards. so these test equipments calibration necessary for my client. and these test equipment quantity also high. where about PRTs are used for calibrate the test equipment.
present i am confusing to give the equipment category for these gauges and instruments, why because for gauge and instruments verification purpose we use master gauges and instruments. so while creating the material master , which material type we have to assign these gauges and instruments, for regular use in production , what type of material type i have to choosen while creating the material master, if i choosen the test equipment , can i create the equipment prt or can i assign these gauges or instruments to the production operations? i am confusing at here, pleaser clarify it and suggest me.
    thanks
    Jalu

    Hello,
This is purely based on your business requirement. If you create the Test Equipment with "Machines" category, then you cant assign the equipments in Production Routing.
If you want to assign in Production, go for PRT option. By this, you can even define performance based maintenance.
But for both cases, Maintenance process can be done.
As these are not consumption material (that will be used for long duration), we should not assign those in Material BoM.

    Maheswaran.
