Good afternoon,
I do not find these special caracters, neede to write in Portuguese, when I want to type SMSs:
â - á - ã - Á - Ã

If I want to write e-mails, I have no problems at all.
Is there any solution for this case?
Best thanks.

The Nokia developer discussion boards can be found on http://forum.nokia.com
However, to answer your question: The PC Suite API v1.1 does only have functions to launch application installation and do file transfers. There is a PC Suite API v3.0 with more functionality, but you have to be a Forum Nokia PRO ( http://pro.forum.nokia.com ) member to get it.
Which phone models are you thinking of? If S60/Symbian phones, then you can write a phone-based application to save/export SMS messages (using the S60 C++ SDK, also from Forum Nokia).

When writing a new SMS, I try to enter the name of the contact. My iPhone then displays deleted contacts. How do I fix this?

The only way is to erase all content and settings and then restore the iPhone as a new device.  Just make sure to back up the content you intend to save.  Do not restore form the backup because that will restore the text history as well.

  • Writing SMS messages on an iMac and sending from iPhone

Is there any way to write and receive texts on my iMac using my 3G iPhone? Can it be done through MobileMe/iSync? Is the limited bluetooth on iPhone any use for this?

No, there is not. You can send SMS from your Mac - there are a variety of widgets for that. But they will be sent via email (from the widget's associated server), not 'from your phone' - nor is there a way to receive them on your Mac.
    Here's one example:

This feature was once possible within the Mac Adressbook / i believe emitSMS worked as well in the past with the iPhone. Somehow this feature is not supported anymore. Will there be a fix/app in the near future? It kinda suxx owning two apple devices which are not fully compatible...which is a SHAME !
(i was able to use this feature allready with stone-aged nokia devices paired with pcs)
ps: i know about programs that use a iphone-webserver/vncserver for sending sms but ****...this should be one of the MOST BASIC native features

  • How can you save a draft SMS on X3-02 ?

How can you save a draft SMS on X3-02 ?
Can't seem to find an option to do this  ...  Lost message typed half way  when I got out of the editor to check the calendar.
Am I missing something or has Nokians obsoleted this function on the latest S40 platform ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi all,
Like sudude here pointed out that's one way of leaving text as "draft" to message editor. Or you can also select Options > More > Exit editor to do the same. And, next time when you select Create message that previous text should be there as it was left.
But there is also another option to start writing SMS's - with Notes application. Select Menu > Apps > Notes. Write a note and save it. Then for that note select Options > Send note > Send as message. Now your note is copied to message editor and you can send it or further edit and then send. Neat thing here is that when you use Notes application, text can be saved for later editing or use.

  • SMS UCS-2 support in western europe phones?

any reason why a phone that supports english, french, italian should not be able to forward an SMS in UCS-2 format with some accents that are not supported in 7-bit or 8-bit SMS Text format? Any reason why conversion from 16 bit to 7 bit format is silent? any settings to turn on or off this behaviour??
I am afraid there are historical wrong reasons for such bad sms text handling since the days of 3330 and 2650, but I hope someone is telling me that I am wrong
anybody who knows the pitfalls of writing sms to the east using phones bought in the west? :-(
    Thanks

only characters relevant to the languages installed, but what about hungarian for example
the characters are installed on my euro1 phone so I can display a message with some >> ő <<  correctly but I cannot forward such message correctly.
Now I would like to know something more about fonts for Nokia phones, there are is at least one true type free font that supports UTF-16 on my PC so I guess there is a way for devices handling UCS-2  to display something more even if the input method for asian languages is not installed
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-16/UCS-2
I have no idea of smartphones or handhelds handling truetype fonts and unicode UTF-16
I have never had a reason to worry about these matters

  • Nokia 6300 problem sms

when im writing sms it shows  1000 characters when i  get to 890 it shows second messege being writed, shouldnt it be 160 characters per sms, what can i do, help

The phone can cope with a message up to 100 characters, but the SMS system allows for much less so the message is broken down and sent as separate messsages to be reassembled into one complete message by the receiving phone.
The total characters per message sent over the network is typically 160 characters, but may be less if you have the full character support switched on (which you may need depending which language you are writing). I don't have a 6300 to hand, but I thing you go:
Menu>Messaging>Message settings>Text message>Character encoding and select "reduced support".

  • Sending SMS from my Mac, registrered on my Iphone

I am a freshman regarding the use of Mac and IPhone. I am searching for an app which give me the possibility of writing sms on my Mac and sending it through my IPhone. Can anyone help ?

It's because of an Apple imposed limitation of the iPhone's rather basic Bluetooth implementation.
Technically, Apple could provide the iPhone with much more Bluetooth functionality (file transfer, printing, vCard transfer, SMS sending, remote control, contact & calendar syncing etc.) through iPhone OS updates.

  • Sms lagging with new OS 7 on iPhone 4

    Hi folks,
My brother is experiencing a problem while writing SMS after he installed the new iOS 7. He is using an iPhone 4.
It`s lagging. Both while typing letters and trying to erase them.
    Any ideas anyone?

Call your carrier, my daughter's phone stopped working one Saturday night and it turned out our AT&T account had been hacked by someone somewhere  in the US at a Walmart.  They bought a new phone, upgrading from her phone knocking out her number and sim card.  AT&T told her to go to phone store Sunday morning and they gave her new phone.  We followed through with the theft report.  About a weel later the Visa we pay the phone bill with was attempted to be used at a phone store in Sacremento.
Anyway, your carrier will restore service if it nots working for any reason.

  • 6120 Classic and SMS smileys?

    Hey,
I just bought a 6120 Classic, and wow - I'm just blown away. It's awesome!
However, on my old Ericsson when writing SMS's, I could just write ... and then use up / down to choose some smiley.
When I try something like that only my 6120, I get the following:
    You get the picture...
    So, what do I do?
    Regards,
    Søren

You can try to use PC Suite for this. First, set your phone to use Phone Memory for messages. Then, use PC Suite to copy/move all your messages to your PC. After copying, set your phone to use Memory Card for messages and copy the messages back. =)

  • Lumina920 - Contacts

woow...I really like a lot of this phone`s features and I do not consider myself a newbie anymore...but im having difficulties with the most basic features ever existed on a telephone.....To Make A Certain Call!
lol...I know youre all laughing cause im laughing too.... but Ive been sitting for the last 30 minutes trying to make a call to my friend...but I just have to give up!  This is the most basic thing on any phone, so why is this "people" app/system  or whatever so incredible messy??
Im inside the phone-booth searching for a contact, gets the message "search = no results"..
I go into writing sms just to see that i actually have my contacts...and there he is...
no, all this "people" and sharing **bleep** looks fancy and all but I find it very confusing and not working at all..
this goes with the rest of the phone...like a lot it very much, but some of the basics are really hard to do..
anyone know a good contacts-app, so I dont have to use the original system at all?
EDIT: When I think about it, all I`ve been doing since I got this phone is to disable everything thats comes integrated, downloading apps that do a better job...
It feels a bit like this is Nokias gameplan..?...to make you buy apps that makes your phone work?
    well im not buying anything..

  • Problems with my iPhone 3g remains in spite of 2.0.2 would a restore help??

Hey I have several problems with my iPhone, all of which i would have thought would dissappear as Apple updated the firmware, but it hasn´t so far.
My problems are that the keyboard is lagging every fifth time that I use it, the letters appear about 1 second after i pressed the key on the keyboard. It happens when I am writing SMS as well as E-mails.
The contacts app takes about 4 seconds to start, and when I am scrolling it is lagging quite a bit.
When I listen to music it suddenly stops, even if I haven´t touched it, then I have to press play to get it to start again. If it use the volume buttons to turn the sound up or down it also sometimes stops the music. When i recieve calls, mails or messages the music fades down, but afterwards it doesn´t start again. It only starts when I "wake up" the phone and unlock it.
Last but not least the 3g signal is really not that stable and often turns back to edge.
I have read lots of posts where people talk about how the newer firmware updates have resolved most of their problems, but I haven´t experienced any changes after I have updated. It almost seems like it doesn´t really "notice" the new firmware.
I have been thinking about doing a restore, but if I use the latest back-up it would most likely have the same issues as now right?
If I do a complete restore and delete everything I will have to spend a lot of time getting all the content back on the phone and I don´t know if it will help at all.
My question is if anyone here have the same problems as me, if they don´t notice any differences after updating the firmware as well?
On top of that I would like to know if anyone here have experienced any positive effects of doing a full restore? Has it helped resolving any of your problems?
    Thanx a lot

On 2.0.2 with a full restore. Still experiencing all of the issues you mention except the iPod related stuff.
I am really losing patience with apple and their silence about all of these problems.
Not sure how much longer I am willing to put up with it before i send it back.

  • Does newest N80 firmware fix T9 dictionary bug?

My N80 firmware has been updated already twice in my local service point (Finland) for the same reason: in some phase of usage it stops saving new words to dictionary.
When writing SMS and entering a new word, it remembers that new word during the same message writing. When opening a new message to write, the word is no longer in use (not included in dictionary's suggestions).
First firmware update didn't fix the problem - I keep thinking because I restored a full backup from memory card - maybe restored also faulty dictionary file?? Don't know is that a file that is includes in full backup.
Second update: I didn't restore anything and "teached" the new words all over again. Now the dictionary has stopped working again!
I checked my current firmware: 4.0623.0.41 (build 26-07-2006)
Ran software update availability check: available version 4.0623.0.42 (build 20-09-2006).
I really wonder why my local service point hasn't put the newest firmware for me, think this new version has been out ages ago (yes, I do realise that build date is different that release date). These firmware re-installations (because the version hasn't changed from the version which was on the phone when I bought it on April 07) have both been done after May 2007.
Now, the question is, if I go to the service point, should they have this version 4.0623.0.42 available to my phone? The second time (in June) when I asked the newest possible version, this .41 was installed again - so can someone from Finland confirm if this new .42 has delivered to service points? Hate to go nagging there if they really don't have it
And more importantly, (and to this I like to hear the answer from Nokia personnel or from users who have been experiencing same problem) will this firmware version fix this problem? Either
    a) keeps saving words
    or
    b) gives a proper error if saving is not possible for reason X
In my case it could not have been "not enough memory/free space"-error, because I have plenty of free space in both, phone and memory card. So if the error comes for some other reason, like to know why.
And no, I won't try to update firmware by my self. I tried it once and my phone died So no trust from me to that service.

I don't believe her claim unless it was true and valid up until the N95. I pass through Wales an awful lot during my work day and therefore I have many many Welsh town and place names entered into my T9 dictionary, along with other words I have added and the few custom smilies I added to it, it has to have way more than 30 words in it.
I'm aware of a bug that resets the T9 dictionary every now and then. The word file gets overwritten every so often and your words disappear. Never did find out what caused it but it affected the 6680. Perhaps this could be the problem.
