Difficulty getting refund - very discouraging !

I closed my TV account at the end of March 2015.  I had a credit of $45.58 at that time.  After waiting several weeks for the refund, I managed to contact a customer service rep., who advised that "the check is in the mail".  Since the closing of the account three and a half months ago, I've contacted the billing dept. and have always been told basically that the "check is in the mail".  After this long period of time and five telephone calls to Comcast, I've still not received any refund. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a standard tactic that Comcast uses to frustrate their customers, and eventually cause them to simply give up trying to get the refund.  The process is even more difficult since the web page does not publish telephone numbers for departments, or even a mailing address for the corporate office.   I've been filing complaints with various agencies, but it's difficult to even find an address for the management offices in Florida. I wish I could say that I'll never do business with this company in the future, but when you need TV, you don't have much choice. I wonder if this problem is systemic with Comcast !

I apologize for the frustration this matter has caused you. I have sent you a private message regarding your refund.

I bought my iPhone 4 open line in Vancouver, Canada last week for use here in my home base in Bangkok, Thailand.  But when I tried using my Thai sim, I get a very weak signal, if not a weak signal, then a no service status.  I also have very weak wifi reception.  What do I do?
    I already tried the following:
    a. Turned the phone off and then on.
    b. Checked all wifi connections – no problem given that all our laptops and desktops can connect seamlessly.
    c. I tried restoring the phone to original factory settings via itunes
    d. Tried resetting the phone.
    e.     Tried different microsims from all networks
    f. However, all methods failed given that the network reception is very weak and often reflects – “no service”.  And with regards to the wifi reception It has difficulty in reading even the signal right in front of the wifi router.
I went to two Apple resellers here in Bangkok and requested that they please look at my Iphone and have it serviced.  I was frustrated when they said that given that I bought my phone in Canada, they are not able to support me and should instead try to contact the Apple store in Canada.
I went to apple.ca website and went to the expresslane support and I was said to register and callback.  Tried calling the 1800 number but given that I was in Thailand I had difficulty getting a connection.

Sorry if this has already been asked. Just got the newest i-pad had a bit of difficulty getting the charger in and now nothing not charging. HELP

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • I purchases additional storage last night when advised by iCloud that I had little storage left on iCloud. Discovered that an unknown iPhone was added to my account resulting in lack of storage. How can I cancel this. And get refund?

I purchased addional storage for iCloud after being advised that I was running out of storage. Later I discovered a iPhone which I do not own was added to my account . How I don't know. Anyway I want to cancel and get refund. How can I do this. Try various apple contact methods..can't get to talk or email anyone.

I have the same problem. For about 1 month ago I extended my iCloud storage account (+20 GB) in order to maintain my backups for iPHONE and iPAD as my account would expire 14/10. In spite of this, I got an email 15/10, which said that iCloud was reduced to 5 GB. 2 hours later I received a new email with comfirmation on the purchase of +20 GB storage plan. However, I only have access to 5 GB on my iPad and iPhone. Called Apple Support but they couldn´t help me. Did you find any solution ?

  • After upgrade to IOS 6 my iphone 4S is heating up a lot and the battery is getting depleted very fast (within 2-3 hrs).

I have upgraded my Iphone 4S to IOS 6.0 Yesterday. Afterwards I noticed that the phone gets hot quite often, even when it is idle. Additionally the battery gets depleted very fast ( 100% to 20% within 3 hrs while I was reading a book on the app mobibook for about 30 min). Last night, I left the phone connected to the charger, as I normally do, I found the phone to be extremely hot in the morning. Any help will be appreciated. In case there is no rememdy I would like to rollback to 5.1.1.

If your iPhone 4S is extremely hot, do the following:
Turn off your iPhone 4S and wait for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
    Turn on your iPhone 4S.
If the problem occurs, turn off your iPhone 4S and wait for 2 - 3 hours.
    Turn on your iPhone 4S.
If your iPhone 4S is getting low, charge your phone
    Repeat in step 1.

  • I own fully paid for license for Dreamweaver CS6. Every time I click to open the app, I get a very annoying pop-up message. How do I stop it?

I own fully paid for license for a Mac version of Dreamweaver cs6. Every time I click to open the app, and before I can start using CS6, I get a very annoying pop-up message (see screen shot below) that states I have a trial version and do I want to buy into the cloud version, which I don't.  How do I stop the pop-up? This message seems to originate from the Extension Manager.
I tried trashing Extension Manager, but another annoying pops-up which states that I have to "reinstall the application manager". Of course, there is no such thing as a "application manager" that I can find. I guess it should be "extension manager".
I no longer own Photoshop because there are so many great alternatives available. Can't wait to do the same with Dreamweaver.
Adobe can't even get the correct cost. I'm an US Customer however they quote the Creative Cloud in Euros. Go figure........

I have faced this problem in the past.  In my case, I had Adobe registered under two separate ID.  One when a student and the second as a regular employed individual.  Because I purchased the licensed while at the University, the registration was listed under the school id. So, when I login in Adobe using my regular ID, I then received the annoying marketing campaign add.
Therefore, review that you have enter the correct id during loging. IT is possible that you login to the community as one ID but purchased the subscription using a separate user name. In these cases, the computer will not know that you already have a paying license.

After opening my yahoo mail window, I keep getting a very short and narrow dialogue box with the words "log into Xmarks" I cannot ... when it pops up, always upper left of my laptop screen and I try to get into my yahoo mail web page, I get a DING sound and cannot enter it ... everything is frozen. Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window.
Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. You should see your hard drive in the left hand column along with your other drives. Click on the drive and select the Erase tab. Set the format value to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and click the Erase button. After that has finished select the Partition tab. Type in a Name for your hard drive and select how many partitions you want from the Volume Scheme. The usual setting is one partition. Click on the Options button after you've selected a partition to make sure it's set for GUID. Then click the Apply button and after the Partitioning is done quit Disk Utility.
You can now follow the instructions on the install screen

  • My MacBook Pro gets very slow while doing  work like watching movies and using net .. video gets lag very often

My MacBook Pro gets very slow while doing  work like watching movies and using net .. video gets lag very often and while surffing on net it gets very slow ...

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the problem.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • I bought laptop online, gonna return it. How to get refund to another card?

I bought a macbook online, and I decided to return it.The credit card i used to purchase was canceled, I wanna know to to get refund to a different card.

The question you pose appears to involve a financial agreement between
you (the cardholder) and them (the bank or credit card agency) and as such
they would be the ones to ask what happens to the monies refunded to them.
Usually a credit card has rules and regulations associated with its use.
Review your card agreement to see what you can do, & what you can't.
A card purchase is a loan. A refund is only a reversal of that credit, and
the money was borrowed from the bank to make the purchase. If you
still owe money on the cancelled card, though the charge-back shows
you to not owe on the computer that was returned, contact the bank.
Since that is a fiscal question & this is ASC discussions we can't really help there,
because we're mostly just Apple product users, owners, & we are volunteers here.
Good luck in resolving the matter and associated issues...
