Difficulty in killing the my application process

I'm running my application by calling particular extension.
When I'm closing the application. The application gets close. But It still run in the process.
I ways have to do Cltr + Alt + Delete to close the process.
Could any one tell me.How to kill the process on closing the application.
I'm using System.exit(0); to close my application.
Thanks.

As I have said System.exit(0) terminates the JVM. So there is no question of any thread running within the JVM after System.exit(0) has been called.
So it may be possible that even though the JVM you have spawned (???) is being terminated...the caller application (ie. ur .exe app) is not being terminated. So you need to pass on the terminate signal to the caller application as well. How are you spawning the JVM? Are you using java to create a process which calls another JVM where you .imt actually runs?

  • I pressed Windows-M to minimize all screens, then Firefox 6.0.1 (Win XP VM) started to open large number ( 70 in a few seconds) of new Firefox windows (stopped only when I killed the Firefox process with Task Manager). Firefox had no focus at that time.

Windows XP 64-bits Virtual Machine, ServicePack 2, 4MB of RAM, dual processor running on a Windows 7 64-bits host machine, ServicePack 1, 8MB, 8-core processor.
I have worked with that for half a year, no particular issues.
I was working in other program in my VM (so Firefox had no focus) , then wanted to view my VM desktop, so I pressed Windows-M to minimize all windows in my VM. Exactly at that time Firefox 6.0 started to issue new empty Firefox windows, at a pace of about 4 or 5 per second. So I killed the firefox.exe process in my TaskManager to prevent my machine of running out of memory. Then I started Firefox again, without further issues so far.

I'm a Chrome user by choice. I use Firefox for two reasons only:
    1) Speedbit video downloader
    2) A second browser to handle secondary Google and Facebook sign-ins.
If I remove Speedbit, I lose 50% of my reason to use your browser at all.
Speedbit and Firefox worked together just fine before version 19.
PLEASE PROVIDE A PATCH. DON'T BLAME SPEEDBIT.
    Thank you.

  • Killing a java application programmatically

    Hi,
I am facing a problem in killing a java application. I am loading JVM inside a process using invocation API's and started the application. When I exit from the process I want to kill the particular application which I have started without unloading or killing JVM (There could be some other applications running in the same JVM, so I can't unload JVM using System.exit() or Thread.currentThread.destroy()...)
Is there any way to get the ID of the Java application and killing it programmatically?
Let me know if any of you have any idea how to solve this problem...
    Thanks in advance,

which operating system your using if its Linux or Unix there is a way
when you run your progream add the following parameter -DPID=$$ this will enter the PID of your process to your program whereby before you exit your program you can define kill process from your program

  • Is there a way to stop all loops( While and For )at once or close the big application with just a button?

How to sop all loops in the application (While, For and subvis ) with a single button? Use the event sturucture?

Yes, if you just need to kill the running application, you can use an event structure in a parallel loop. (See attached code image). Pressing the stop button stops everything! :-)
(Alternatively, you could even call "quit labview".)

Thanks, I figured as much. Will I be able to save all my apps and content by importing them to my computer and then uploading them back to my iPad after I upgrade the iOS? If so, do you happen to know if a gen 1 iPad running an iOS 4.2.1 is able to upgrade to an iOS 5? I did read online that the iOS 6 is NOT compatible with it so I want to be sure the iOS 5 is before I go through the trouble...

  • How do you start the Editor Application

I am experiencing difficulty in opening the Editor Application. I can only open the Tutorials. I am able to oprn the Organiser Application. So now I am wondering if I need to fill the organiser with photos before I can access the Editor Application. Any advice would be useful.
    Many thanks
    Scots

No, the organizer is totally voluntary. I'm not sure what tutorials you mean, but if you are using a mac (I'm guessing that since you say "application") and PSE 12 (also guessing since you don't say  much) it's in Applications>Adobe Photoshop 12>Support Files>Photoshop Elements Editor.

  • Firefox won't start. The program is running in the task manager processes, but the application won't open. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled, now I am lost!!!

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop running Windows Vista Home edition. Firefox was working properly just as it has for years. All of a sudden when you click on the icon, nothing appears. I open task manager, no applications show. I go to processes, there is firefox32. I kill the process and start over...endless loop. I shut the computer down and restarted. Same issue. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled, same issue. I idon't know what else to try.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Unable to Kill the Consolidation task for HFM application

User is unable to kill the Consolidation task in HFM application. Consolidation process which usually takes 2 mins has been showing status as running @79% since 4-6 hrs. User ID is has the provisioning manager, lock Data and unlock data provisions in Shared Services. The stop task button in the Running Tasks list is not enabled . Our Support team has advanced user access which is not also able to stop the task. Please note Admin access is restricted and not allowed for such tasks.

I would check the HFM Log to see if you find anything referring to locked / blocked records.
If your HFM app is killed in the middle of consolidating or performing other activities that requires it to 'lock' a segment of memory in the database, that 'lock' is still held on those data points when the application restarts.
If you then try to perform another consolidation and it hits one of those locked data points, it will sit there for a very long amount of time waiting for the 'lock' to clear.
I forget the exact error message that you will find in the log AND I forget the timeout period; however, it sucks having to wait through that.
The other possibility that comes to mind is that the consolidation really aborted and the status didn't update. (once again check the logs)

  • A web site I used to visit daily, but haven't for a while, causes Firefox to go off in la-la land. I have to kill the process with the task manager.

The web site in question is for our local newspaper. The problem occurs when I am returning from a discussion thread (by Disqus) to the article it's attached to. Also when I attempt to return to the home page from an article. Sometimes just letting it sit for a while will produce the problem. At that point I cannot open a new tab, switch to another open tab, close tabs, click on any menu bar items or close the app. The tab I was in shows the spinning wheel and says connecting. I must use Task Manager to kill the process. I tried installing version 31.0 with no result.

  • The plug in container for Adobe Flash eats up 100% of my CPU on a regular basis and I have to go in to task manager and kill the process.

Screen updates become very slow and intermittent. I then start task manager to see what is using either ram or cpu, and invariably it is Plug-in container for Firefox using most of the cpu resources. When I kill the process, I get the message at the top of the browser that Adobe Flash plug-in has crashed.
I understand that Flash is useful/necessary for many applications, but is there a way to limit the resources it uses?

Do you have Logitech gaming software installed on the PC? If so, perhaps try the suggestion from the following post:

  • When I exit firefox it closes the program but it gets stuck in memory so when I open it again i have to kill the process in task manager

When I exit firefox it closes the program but it gets stuck in memory so when I open it again i have to kill the process in task manager, and it can be right away or I can come back a few hours later and its still stuck in task manager, I am tired of having to kill the processes every time I use firefox.
    == This happened ==

Hanging at exit is most often caused by an Extension or a Plugin.
    <u>'''Kill Application'''</u>
In Task Manager, does firefox.exe show in the <u>'''Processes'''</u> tab?

    <u>'''Safe Mode'''</u>
You may need to use '''[[Safe Mode]]''' (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes <u>'''before'''</u> starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
    See:
    '''[[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]'''
    '''[[Troubleshooting plugins]]'''
    '''[[Basic Troubleshooting]]'''
If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>'''one at a time'''</u> until the problem reappears. <u>'''You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change'''</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

  • Firefox will be hung when begining to download a file. Only using the tasker to kill the process can be resolved.

when beginning to download a file especially a big file, my firefox will be hung, and it will occupy about 50% of the cpu resource. I can only kill the process to solve this problem.
The problem was happened before installing the plugin "flashgot".
this problem was occured in version 3.6.12 too.

  • Completely KILL the process from the OS - problem.

Does anyone know how to completely kill/eliminate/dispose/ the main process from the OS.
Here is the prob: my application runs smoothly. when I close it - it's being eliminated from the OS, however I found out that when I open a new window [from the main application] and updating something and then closing this particular window (with setvisable(false) / dispose() ) and QUITING the main application - the process still runs in the background.
Is there a way to make sure that regardless of the open frames/dialog the process [main application] will completely 'die'?
    Thanks

  • Application process code is not getting the value

    Hi
I have implemented search functionality on page 0 (One Textbox and one ImageButton).
    on clicking on image button
I am calling a application process to redirect a page on the basis of entered value.
I am using following code in application process:
    DECLARE

    NULL;
    END;
:P0_SEARCH is the name of search textbox that is on page 0.

    OWA_UTIL.REDIRECT_URL('f?p=&APP_ID.:42:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P42_CASE_NUMBER:l_number');
