Digital signature in Results Recording

Hi all,I want to do results recording using a BAPI,but when the inspection lot need digital signature, the BAPI can't work, how can I deal with this problem? Thanks in advance.

According the settings the digital signature is required. The user must key in the data. Using a BAPI or doing result recording in background with a btach user: This is not the desired business process. For a kind of automatically recording somebody has to redesign the business process first. Not to solve a problem with a wrong desinged process and a program.

  • Multiple Digital Signatures (certificates) results in VERY slow PDF

I created a form in Lifecycle that typically has 8 signatures.  As more signatures are added the form slows down significantly.  Our director, who ultimately signs off on the document, has informed us that it took him 35+ minutes to approve 3 documents.  The forms are on a network drive.  I had read some old threads that mentioned this issue was being investigated and the newer versions of Acrobat should help speed up this process.  We are currently running Acrobat X 10.1.4.  Any suggestions as to what might be slowing things down?  I know the digital signatures require validating and expect it to slow things down a bit but 11+ minutes is probably more than it should be.  Thanks

    Hi,
Just out of curiousity, if the form has been Reader Enabled, and, if the director could download the free Adobe Reader v11 from the Adobe web site, and he signs the file using version 11, is the signing process faster? It should be much faster in version 11 because we fixed the recursive validation issue that made dealing with multiple signatures so slow.
If you're interested in the nuts and bolts read on, but if not I'll understand...
The way signature validation use to work is Acrobat (and Reader as well because because the signature creation and validation mechanisms are the same in both) would start to validate signature number 8 right after the signature was created (it needs to do the validation so it knows whether or not to put the green check mark next to the signature). As part of the validation process it would need to re-validate each previous signature (and this is where things start to get weird). In order to validate signature 7 it has to also validate all previous signatures (6 thru 1) and every time it validates a new signature it has to do all of the previous signatures. Each signature would get validated as many times as it was part of the revision list. That is, signature 1 got validated eight times, signature 2 seven times and so on.
Begining with version 11 (or XI as it says in the product) we stopped all of the recursive validation and just do each signature once which makes the signature validation process much quicker. I'm always looking for real world examples, and if you can test it with Reader XI I'd appreciate knowing the results.
    Thanks,

  • Digital signature in SAP Records Management (SAP Netweaver Folders Manager)

    Hi experts,
I have a record with various documents and I want to implement digital signature in documents (Transaction: ORGANIZER). I read in IPS640 SAP Manual that there are a button (key symbol) to do this but I don't have this button. Can you explain me how to implement this?
A lot of thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Hi JV,
You need to define the repository in OAC0 transaction. As per my analysis now your document are stored in sap database.
If you are using separate serever then confuigure as follows in OAC0:
Document area : SAP Records Management
    Storgae type : RFC Archive
define IP address and port. Then goto CSADMIN and activate the certificate for the same.
or if using SAP Database then make the changes in above areas.
Then these archived documents will get saved in content server instead of sap database.
    Hope this will help.

  • Can ILM_TOOLKIT  be  used standalone  for Digital Signatures on result sets

    Hello
Looking for means to digitally sign rolled out PL/SQL software I found the Digital Signature functions of ILM Assistant.
We probably won’t be using the basic functions of ILM as there’s already an application data lifecycle process in place, but the “Immutability” functions look very interesting.
A digital signature, for our purpose, could perhaps be created with a query against DBA_SOURCE.
So far I found the procedures
    ILM_TOOLKIT.create_sql_result_set
    ILM_TOOLKIT:delete_sql_result_set
    ILM_TOOLKIT.load_sql_result_set
which might do what we want. But I haven’t found any published documentation yet
Does anyone know if the ILM_TOOLKIT can be installed and used standalone (i.e. without apex and browser GUI) in order to be called directly and if there’s any documentation on it.
    Thank you very much
    Klaus

    Hi,
You can certainly install the toolkit without the gui, but you would have to modify the installation scripts to keep it from installing the APEX application after the toolkit has been installed.
There is no published documentation; however, I could give you some insight into what you would need to do. Let me know if this still interests you.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • Digital signatures for calibration inspection (inspection type 14)

    Hi,
I want to use digital signatures for results recording and usage decision (ud) when performing a calibration (inspection type 14). Normally you'd set-up the material authorization for digital signatures. But this can't be added to maintenance plans or equipment. Is there any way to set-up digital signatures for calibrations?

  • Digital signature in QM

    Hi all,
I have some douts pls help me to solve it
1)The digital signature ensures that certain tasks are only performed by specially authorized users and documented in a signed document together with the name of the undersigned person, and the date and time.
But this can also be met by using basis tools providing authorisation to restricted usere only for UD and Result recording
then what is the use of Digital signature?
2)If i am using digital signature it is not reflecting any where.
i can olny see logs for that under Tcode DSAL
    ASD

I pasted below the help file info from SPRO on digitial signatures.  This gives you a good overview.  You can find more info on this by searching help for information on SSF Settings for the System Signature.  SSF = Secure Store and  Forward and you will help files on this as well.  These areas are set up by BASIS folks, not QM.  You may want to inquire in a BASIS forum for more specific info on setting this up.
    Craig
The basis application component Secure Store and Forward (SSF) is used to realize digital signatures in the SAP System. This section tells you how to make the following settings:
SSF settings for the digital signature
Which settings you make here depends on the signature method you use (see Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature and Define Signature Strategies)
The complete names of the users that are supposed to execute the signatures as well as their personal time zones
When a signature is executed, the system copies the signatory name together with the local time according to the signatory's personal time zone to the signed document.
    Caution
All users can maintain their address data and defaults by choosing System -> User profile -> Own data. The general user settings along with the SSF settings for the user are part of this data. Therefore if you use digital signatures, do not assign the authorization to maintain own data to all users.
    Requirements
If you use the user signature as your signature method, you need an external security product that islinked to your SAP System by way of SSF.
Note that you should not store the users' Personal Security Environment (PSE) in a file system but rather, for example, on a smart card. The PSE software does not comply with legal requirements for digital signatures.
    Standard settings
The SSF settings for the system signature are contained in the standard system.
    Activities
SSF Settings for the User Signature
    1. Go to Customizing for Basis Components, choose System Administration -> Digital Signature and carry out activity Application-Dependent Parameters for SSF Functions.
    2. Enter the SSF information for the users that are supposed to execute digital signatures. If you want, you can also make the general user settings now (see below).
    a) Go to user maintenance.
    b) Enter the user ID of the user whose data you want to maintain and choose Change.
    c) Go to the Address tab page.
    d) Choose Other communication and double-click SSF (Secure Store & Forw.).
    e) Enter the user's SSF information.
How the entries must be structured depends on the security product you use.
    f) Choose Continue and save your entries.
SSF Settings for the System Signature
Check and, if required, maintain the standard settings. To do so, go to Customizing for Basis Components, choose System Administration -> Digital Signature and carry out the following activities:
    Application-Dependent Parameters for SSF Functions
    SAPSECULIB Maintenance Information
    General User Settings
    1. Go to user maintenance.
    2. Enter the user ID of the user whose data you want to maintain and choose Change.
    3. Go to the Address tab page and enter the user's first and last names.
    4. Go to the Defaults tab page and enter the user's personal time zone.
    5. Save your entries.

  • How do I create a digital signature on a TCP or a UDP flow?

I am trying to convert samples of a voice signal, which is intercepted from the microphone, into fixed length digital signature bytes (using Hash, or) and attach these fixed length bytes to a communication session between two terminals (UDP or TCP "HTTP"). The other receving end should be able to identify the person at the sending side.
Any thoughts how I could do this?
    Any help is most appreciated.
    Sam

    Sam,
If you have the Sound and Vibration toolkit it may make some things easier for you regarding the voice-recording aspect, but if you aren't recording and playing back the actual sounds, just using this for detection and digital signatures, you shouldn't need to worry about this.
    1. For this you are going to be doing some form of Analog Input.  Then you will be storing this data to a file.  There are examples for both of these aspects in the NI Example Finder from within LabVIEW.
    2. If you are going to be doing the FFT, there is a VI under the Mathematics Palette that performs this operation.  Again you can use the same example for saving data to the file.
    3. You would need to figure out what needs to be done to create a digital signature for this.  There may be something in the Sound and Vibration toolkit for this, but I do not know.
    4. For the UDP or TCP transfers, there are several examples for doing this and they cover how to create the connection and transfer / receive data.  These too are in the NI Example Finder
    5. This goes back to number 4, this would indeed be a separate program, but everything else would just be one project and one program.
    6. This would depend on how the ID was created in step 3, again whether you do the algorithm on yourself or not.  For comparing to the table, you would use a Search Array and some comparison functions, all depending on how you stored the data initially.
    7. Graphs are all available on your Front Panel of your VIs and you would just wire up the data that you'd like and have it displayed on the graph.
There will not be an example for everything that you are wanting to do.  The examples are meant to help you get started.  Have you used LabVIEW before?  I would recommend doing the 3 Hour LabVIEW Introduction Course to help you get started.  This will cover some of the basic concepts that you will need to know in order to create your application.
Unfortunately I cannot write the code for you, only guide and direct you.  LabVIEW is a programming language and does require the user to lay out and create their own program.  You will not be able to just find three or four pre-built code-snippets and connect them together to get your appliction working the way you want it.  You will need to develop the applications yourself.
