Digital Signature -- Unlock signed off document

Hello,
We are implementing digital signature to BBP documentation. The signatures can be successfully triggered and documents can be signed off and status changed. When trying to unlock the signed off documents, in the document attribute window, the unlock button is however not available. Therefore we can never get a signed document re-opened. I wonder how we could configure to get the button visible?
We'd appreciate any suggestions you may have to share with us. Many thanx!
Regards, Li

HI Jason,
Thanks for the message. Yes the "document is locked" checkbox has been selected.
What is the role you mentioned? I created a role with authorization objects C_SIGN and C_SIGN_BGR, but it seemed not to help.
There is supposed to be a "document unlock" botton available in the document attribute, see a sample in the presentation (shown in slide 11, step 3).
https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002397472006E
Now when I open the attribute of a signed document, the "document unlock" button is not available, I am wondering where in the configuration/role we should do more.
Hopefully this helps you to understand my problem a bit more
Kind regards,
Li

    Hi Chandra,
Thanks for the reply. However I would need Generic Functional Design document.
I know that Functional Specs comes close to Functional Design but Functional Design is an High level document above specs.
If you could provide that, it would be really helpful.

  • Implementation Sign off Documents

    Hi
I'm about to round off on a project implementation and require documentation for sign-off.
I don't know what format this should take and would appreciate if anyone could email me samples on [email protected]

    Hi,
When you log off from SAP sessions, it is called as Sign off. You can use /nEX in your transaction code window.
Sign off is also used in delivery aspects - when a object is delivered to client and user testing is completed successfully, user officially signs a sign off document which shows that the object is delivered to client successfully.
    Hope this helps.

  • Has there been an update or fix to the digital signature time zone off set being one hour off?

Has there been an update or fix to the digital signature time zone off set being one hour off? I have seen that in the forum that this was identified as a bug back in June 2012. Any updates on this as it is still occurring in my version of Acrobat X with all updates applied. Thanks.

  • Digital Signature while approving a document in KM

    Dear all,
We have a an approval enabled folder in KM. My question is, can we enable digital signature for documents in that folder?
Scenario will be like this. I'm an approver. When I approve I should be allowed to digitally sign on the document.
    Is this possible in KM?
    We are on EP 7.0 Ehp1 SP04.

  • Digital signatures for customer facing documents

    Hello,
I am a pretty experienced user of Adobe TechComm Suite (FrameMaker, RoboHelp), but I've never needed to dig too deep into Acrobat, so I am a newbie when it comes to setting up digital signatures.
I am using Acrobat Pro XI on Windows 7 professional, and the people who need to approve documents only have the free Adobe Reader. I don't have access to any sort of workflow system at the moment, and we aren't using a content management system. Adobe EchoSign is not suitable for our documents because of size restrictions and because 3rd-party cloud storage violates corporate policy.
What I'd like to be able to do is this:
Include a signatures page when I create a PDF of a document. Place the document at a shared network location (Windows network).
Notify approvers (Outllok email) that they need to digitally sign a PDF at a shared network location.
See the digital signatures and see that they all are valid.
Send out the signed PDF to external customers, in a way that it doesn't show customers that the document includes a form, and doesn't ask for more signatures, but does confirm that the PDF has not been changed since it was signed. Customers must be able to print all or part of the PDF if they want to.
I have a feeling that I may be missing some steps or some external components. Any advice on how to set this up would be welcome.
    Thanks very much,
    David

What you want to do can be done with Acrobat, but it depends a bit on how many internal users will be needing to sign the documents. For Reader users (desktop versions on Windows and Mac) to digitally sign a document, it needs to be Reader-enabled with either Acrobat Pro (not Standard) or LiveCycle Reader Extensions. The latter is expensive server-based software.
A signature field can be set up so that the document is locked to further changes once it is signed, but this involves the user selecting the option or you can pre-configure the document (signature field, specifically) with a bit of JavaScript so it will always be locked after signing.
The external users will be able to validate the signature (with Acrobat/Reader) and print if you haven't restricted printing.

  • Importing older Digital Signatures into an Electronic Document Mgmt System

I have Adobe PDF documents signed with digital signatures in 2002-03 that I need to import into an EMC Documentum repository without invalidating the signatures.  When I try pulling documents into the system, they are seen as "changed or modified" by the authentication software, and the signatures dissappear.  How do I get around this?

2002-2003 signatures were signed probably with Acrobat 5 or 6. Two questions:
    1. If you open this PDF in Reader XI, does it validate the signatures as valid?
    2. If you import into Documentum PDF signed with the latest Acrobat version (X or XI), does Documentum import then without errors?
If the answer to question 1 is "no" then there is something wrong with these PDFs.
I am not familiar with Documentum, so this is just a speculation.
My guess is that the answers to both questions are "yes". If so, then Documentum does not support the older PDF signature format (which is still in PDF 1.7 specification).
If the answer to question 1 is "yes" and to question 2 is "no", then perhaps Documentum does not support signed PDFs.
I am not familiar with Documentum, so this is just a speculation.

  • Multiple Digital Signatures - each signer enters their comments then signs

Background / Problem:  I currently have a Microsoft Word Document I print out (multiple pages). Everyone reads the first page, puts their comments in their section, then signs under their comments. The same group of papers (2-3 pages) gets signed by 7 people. After I chase everyone down to add their comments and sign the paper, I then file it into a massive file cabinet.
I am considering buying Adobe Acrobat very shortly (if this can solve the problem). I would like to convert the two or three page document I normally print out into a PDF file. I would like for someone to add a comment in their comment box, sign the document and save it. The next person will then add their comment sign it and save it. How do I do this and what version of Acrobat do I need (if acrobat can do this)?

Yes, you can do that in Acrobat. Keep in mind that each user will sign the complete document (all pages with his/her comments on the first, second, whatever page). but the document will contain all signatures. You can design the document so that the signatures will appear on the pages where you want them to be. It is just that each signature will cover the complete document content which is what you want.
You can save the original PDF as Reader-Extended which will allow your user to sign in in Reader. You do not need to buy a separate copy of Acrobat for all of them.

  • How Adobe reader will access SAP PKI for digital signatures

    Hello,
I am using a ABAP report to upload signed PDF document and validating the signature. However signature which I am using is client side Signature and not the server side. I still hope that I would be able to get these signatures from document.
When I call execute method of CL_FP_PDF_OBJECT it gives this error
Exception from the class CX_FP_RUNTIME_SYSTEM was caught, and that is due to No SSL installed yet.
But I have doubt that, does ADS has trouble seperating the client side (local signatures from document), I hope not!
One more question, If my PKI is setup Using SAPSECLIB or SAPCRPLIB then how will my local adobe reader access to this server to get public keys..
I am facing hard time visualizing, where we will specify in my Adobe acrobat that go to So and so SAP server for keys!! Or Private keys are always with signers on his machine?
    Thanks,
    Nitesh Shelar

    Hello Philipp,
    Thanks for your reply.
So as we can add any directory server in Adobe reader and trusted identities, we can do the same with Adobe document services? So its Adobe document services, which actually validates the signature and not the web application server.
I have one more query. I have five level approval on my form where five approvers will use Windows Certificate Store to sign the document. But for this I assume that document needs to be passed from one approver to next approver in offline mode. Because once PDF document goes back to server only data of PDF will be retained after validating the signatures. So if we have multilevel approver scenario as I have in my case, we will always have to use offline mode? I am using the WebDynpro right now, can Guided procedure or ISR can help in this case.(Multiple approvers using digital signatures to sign the document)?
    Thanks,
    Nitesh Shelar.

  • Can I still sign a document after I certify it first?

1.I certify a pdf document first ,and I choose the permission as "form fill-in and digital signature"
2.But when I want to add digital signature to sign the document , the "Place a digital signature" is disable both in menu and toolbar :(
so ,who can tell me what can I do? Or,when I certify a document ,I will never sign it?
    Thank u ,sincerely

When a document is certified, you, as the author, are certifying the look and behavior of the document and the ability to make changes after that is very limited. If there are signature fields already on the document, you can still sign them, but you can't add free-form signatures to the document (i.e., Place Signature).
It sounds like what you want is to add one or more signature form fields to the document and then certify it. Then, the signature fields can be signed after the document is certified. (In Acrobat 8 and earlier, you use the "Sign Document" menu item or toolbar button to do this.
