DIMM Kingston KVR133X64C3/512 on G4 Gigabit????

Hi all.
I need Info.
This RAM module (512 MB/133/DIMM): *Kingston KVR133X64C3/512*
is compatible with my Mac: Power Mac G4 400 Gigabit Ethernet?
Thanks.

HI GUYS.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
I FROM ARGENTINA.
I HAVE NOT A CREDIT CARD.
SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH!
WELL, I LOOKING FOR A RAM MODULE IN DE REMATE.COM (WEB SITE LIKE EBAY OR AMAZON, FOR EXAMPLE), I SEE THAT:
*MEMORIA DIMM 512 MG PC 133 KINGSTON.......U$D 86.00*
*Modelo KVR133X64C3/512*
*FEATURES MEMORIA KINGSTON 512MB SDRAM 133MHZ 168PIN:*
*• Memory - 512 MB x 1 - DIMM 168-PIN - SDRAM*
*• Capacidad de almacenamiento: 512 MB x 1*

*• Factor de forma: DIMM 168-PIN*
*• Comprobación integridad datos: No ECC*
*• Voltaje de alimentación: 3.3 V*
*• Velocidad reloj bus: 133 MHz*
UNTIL HERE:
ALL OK, I KNOW AND I CAN UNDERSTAND THIS FEATURES.
NOW... I WANT A LOT MORE INFO ABOUT THIS MODULE.
I LOOKING FOR IN INTERNET ABOUT THIS; IN KINGSTONE WEB SITE I GET THIS:
+Description: 512MB 133MHz Non-ECC CL3 DIMM+
+Detailed Specifications: S*tandard 64M X 64* Non-ECC 133MHz 168-pin Unbuffered DIMM (SDRAM, 3.3V, CL3, Gold) (Datasheet)+
+Mfgr's System P/N's: N/A+
+Form Factor: Memory Module+
+Pieces/Unit: 1+
+Warranty: Lifetime†+
AND SEARCHING MORE ABOUT THE ¨64M X 64¨, I WANT CRUSH WITH THIS:
+Incompatible 256MB and 512MB DIMMs: 256MB DIMMs made from one bank of 16 32Mx4 chips and 512MB DIMMs made from one bank of 16 64Mx4 chips are not compatible with the G4 AGP Graphics, the slot loading iMac, and later models of Mac. They will only work in the Beige G3, the B&W G3, and the G4 PCI Graphics. If you are buying a 256MB or 512MB DIMM and you are not sure if it will work on a Mac, do not buy DIMMs that have a single bank made from 16 chips, make sure it has two banks of 8 chips each, or for 256MB DIMMs one bank of 8 chips or two banks of 4 chips are also OK. I*ncompatible DIMMs may also be identified as having 32Mx4 chips (for a 256MB DIMM) or 64Mx4 chips (for a 512MB DIMM). DIMM First Aid will identify these DIMMs as having an incompatible number of column address bits.* DIMM First Aid can not fix these DIMMs.+

  • For 875P Neo-FISR Sandra reports DIMM 1 "Empty" -- 512 chip not showing up

About 2 months ago, I assembled an 875P Neo-FISR with an Intel P4 3.20E GHz 1MB L2cache and 800 MHz FSB.  I installed 2 Kingston KVR400X64C3A 512MB PC3200 CL3 184 pin DIMMS, one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3 so as to get dual channel mode.  The system reported that I only had 512MB memory.  I tried reseating the DIMMS several times with the same result.  I then moved the two DIMMS to slots 2 and 4, after which the system reported 1GB RAM, and the dual channel mode appeared to be in effect.
Today, I purchased two more identical DIMMS (PC3200 512MB, same mfctr and model #) and inserted them into slots 1 and 3 for a total of 4 512MB DIMMS.  The system reports that I have 1.5MB RAM, and Sandra reports that slot 1 is "empty."
    I'm not happy.
I'm running a new copy of XP Pro, which came with Service Pack 2 installed.  I have a variety of peripherals, WD IDE drives, ATI video card, etc. -- none of which should have anything to do with this.  The original problem appeared at the most basic level of installation.

If the slot was dead two months ago it wouldn't get any better with time.
If you use only slot one does it work?

  • K8N Neo2 Platinum - Four Kingston DDR400X64C3A/512 can't run at 400mhz speed

    Hi every one !
Why 4 sticks memory only run dual channel at 333MHz . How can I speed up them to run at 400MHz ? Thanks for any help and best regards

Hello, its the limits of the AMD cpu's memory control not a mobo, only am2 cpu's can handle four sticks at rated DDR speeds..
you can try to up your buss speeds and get four sticks to run faster than 333 but hitting DDR400 will be hard to do..
I have my four sticks running someware around DDR370..
There is little proformance difference between 333 and 400 so if you need two gigs of memory thats your choice with four sticks
Two 1gig sticks is allways better to use than four 512's
    hope this helps

I tried to install an additional 512 MB memory module on my iMac DV,
but I've continously crashes and computer freeze after a while.
    I tried with 2 modules Kingston KVR133X64C3/512
    What's wrong ?
Should I change something in the configuration too ?
    Thanks

Ciao e benvenuto alle discussioni di Apple.
Kingston themselves don't support the use of their low grade KVR (Kingston Value RAM) in any Mac as I found out I my cost when I installed KVR in my iMac G4 and also suffered Kernel Panic type crashes.
For RAM in Europe I'd advise trying Crucial.

  • T23 and 512 MB - DIMM - modules don't work with each other, getting only beeps

    Hi there,
I searched the whole web, but nowhere getting the answer.
I'm having an Thinkpad T23 2647 with XP.
Actually it works without problems with 2 kind of 256 MB modules.
When I try to change it to one ore more 512MB modules, it comes the known beep-signal for dimm-failure (there is no combination possible, even standalone doesn't work).
I've the newest BIOS (1.20) and Embedded Controller (1.06a) installed.
The dimm-modules are 512 MB SDR PC133 with 144 pins bought via Ebay from CSL Computers in germany.
I had the same problems a year before, but there I thougt it was the DIMM defect.
    I need further help please.
    Thanks and best wishes

It is possible that the T23 motherboard has a problem with some bad solder connections of the memory module sockets. I have personally have had at least two T23 systems with this problem (out of about 60 that have been in my hands - all purchased quite used from eBay). Your options are to change out the motherboard or to attempt to re-solder the sockets; not that easy to do but it can be possible with a steady eye and good hands (or is that the other way around ).
As a double-check, could you please list the TYPE number from the "System-unit serial number" in the main BIOS setup screen? It's only seven characters long and will start with 2647 or 2648. Don't list anything past the seventh character as that's the system's serial number and that's not needed here. I know that you've listed the 1.20 BIOS, which appears to be the latest for the T23, but I want to make sure that somebody hasn't put a T23 keyboard onto a T22 (or earlier) system. That would be one explanation as to why a 512MB module does not work and what fmyhr may have been thinking about earlier (systems older than the T23 will not work with "high density" modules).

  • Memory upgrade question / mixing dimms

    Hi ,
    i`m wanting to add another 1gb of ram to my  875P Neo-FIS2R. I currently have 2 x kingston kvr400x64c25/512 512mb ddr400 cl2.5 and want to add
    a couple more. I`ve seen slightly cheaper (and in stock) the VR400X64C3A/512 (512MB 400MHz DDR CL3 Non-ECC 3-3-3 DIMM).
question is will this new pair work ok with my existing pair?
    thanks in advance
    Paul

Here's a link to the Test Report for your board. Scroll down to the memory pic and click on it. Then scroll down to the PC3200 area, that will list approved RAM for your mainboard.

  • KT3 and new DIMM's

    Hi
My board is a MSI KT3, with an Athlon XP 2100.
    I bought 2 new Kingston DIMM's:
    KVR400x64C3A/1G (1Gb PC3200 CL3 184 - Pin DIMM)
     and
    KVR400x64C3A/512 (512Mb PC3200 CL3 184 Pin DIMM)
Are these dimm's suitable for my board? Should I change anything on BIOS ?
I notice that after the installation of these new memory, the HD is working more and the XP (with all updates) is slower than before (3 old dimm's of 512 each)
    Any help
Many times ago, I found somewhere (in this forum?) a "KT3 bios setup guide" or something like this but I don't know where. Does anyone knows where can I found it?
    Many thanks in advance

Thanks first of all for your friendly and positive attitude!
SPD or HCLK depends of course on what you are using. If processor and memory is well in sync. , for example both at 133, SPD would be my recommendation. I must admit I'm not very very familiar with HCLK, but with the speed discrepancy you should give it a try.
Mod.: When the processor speed isn't what you expect it to be, there are normally two main reasons for it: It can't because of failing power or overheating reach its proper speed, or the processor isn't what you think it is.
Are you 100% sure it is a XP2100 processor? Not an Mobile XP, meant for lap-tops and such?
    Hi
Yes, the processor is an Athlon 2100. I bought it some years ago and i made the instalation.
Now, Everest Ultimate Edition says that his temperature is 38º (100º F).

  • K8n neo2 platinum + kingston info request

    Hello guys
I've just installed this weekend my new pc, almost everything is running ok.
    I have 2 mems kingston KVR400X64C3A/512, 512MB 400MHz DDR PC3200 DIMM 3-3-3 Dual Rank
    Standard 64M X 64 Non-ECC 400MHz 184-pin Unbuffered DIMM(SDRAM-DDR, 2.6V, CL3, Gold)
The bios ffrom MB is 1.5 and dimms are installed in slots 1&3 (green slots), from what i see here it gives a clock auto in 166mhz, so if I config manually 3-3-3 200Mhz and 1T the system hangs and had to reset cmos.
From your experience, which is best config for this type of ddr mem ??
    tks

Tks very much for answers, as i read for dual channel have only 3 combinations 1-2 3-4 and 1-2-3-4 and for coll'n quiet must be dimm 1 so 1-2 is best, will try tonight
    Bimbo
It works perfect in dual @400Mhz settings are 200Mhz T1 3-3-8-3 (slots 1&2)

  • K7n2 delta ilsr with kingston pc333

Owning a MSI K7N2 DELTA ILSR with an AMD ATHLON XP 2800+ and 512mb DDR KINGSTON (KVR333X64C25/512).
I like to run the motherboard with a FSB of 166MHz, with a 12.5 multiplier.
Setting the FSB/DRAM to 1:1 gives no troubles at all.
But FSB/DRAM 1:2 will lock up the booting process and the only way to escape the black-screen-of-nothing is to reset the bios with the jumper :-(
This way I run half the speed my memory is capable of!
    Somebody a suggestion?

memory and cpu uses ddr to transmit data.
    double data rate.
it means it sends data twice each clock cycle instead of one.
166mhz true transfer rate becomes 333mhz virtual transfer rate.

I have the same problems with the K7N2G. I installed a single Kingston KVR333X64C25/512 stick. I have Win 98 installed and whenever it wants it gets stuck in a blue window with a General Protection Error message. Very dissapointing. First i thought i had a defective HD, but now i've noticed about this memory issues i think the problem is memory. I also tried Win XP with a total reinstallation and it didn't work. I also installed a Gainward 4800SE and it gets into a black screen. I think the board is damned or something.
Fought against the problems of the o/b graphic card that doesn't get to work with any driver, bios or whatever. It doesn't let me play any of my games. It doesn't even let me change my settings to True Color 32 bit. Even when i'm copying files from my dvd rom it gets stuck. This really sucks.

If the Kingston ram doesn't have Winbond or Infineon chips on it, it's probably bad memory.  RMA the memory back to Kingston and ask for Value Ram with Infineon chips.

Try looking in your boards' manual to find out how many banks it can hanle. Most 512MB ram is double sided =circuit stuff on both sides of the stick. Each side with stuff on it is a "bank".  Look at your ram & see if there is circuit stuff on both sides.  If so, is takes up 2 banks.  The intel chipset on your board usually only supprorts 4 banks, but the board itself may only support 3 banks, regardless of the number of ram slots on the board. 128MB & some 256MB ram can now be found single sided.  Your board might max out at 768MB.  You will have to find out more about your mother board to make sure you are not going over the max banks.

  • Kingston ValueRAM on RS482M4-L

    Hi all,
With 2 sticks of 512 MB , my mobo is always starting at 333Mhz instead of 400 Mhz.
Does someone knows why ? And how i can change that ?
This mobo should support DDR400 according to the specs (PC3200).
    My system :
    RS482M4-L
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ ( NewCastle )
    2 x Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512
    Nvidia GeForce 6200 TurboCache
    72GB WD Raptor SATA
    250 GB Seagate Barracuda SATAII
    SB Live 24-bit
    Antec 550W PSU

    Blizzie,
This motherboard does support PC-3200.  If you are loading at 333mhz something is wrong in your configuration somewhere I would expect.  It could possibly be the RAM and the voltage.  If you will notice my post at the top of this forum I list a specific voltage for the RAM.  Check the specs of the ram you own.
Also, what slots do you have the RAM in?
Download CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and check timings along with reporting all information it says here regarding your RAM.

  • Please help with 4 sticks of Kingston RAM

Hello. I bought the 875P-LSR Neo board and have been having nothing but troubles with it. Maybe someone here can give me some help. I have a P4 3.2 GHZ CPU (NOT the extreme one), an ATI 9800XT video card. I bought 4 512MB sticks of  Kingston KVR400X64C25/512 which is on their approved memory list. I cannot get this board to work with 4 sticks of RAM, even when I set it to BIOS defaults. I have updated to BIOS 1.9, or whatever the lastest is. It just posts, loads XP then reboots. I don't want to overclock or anything, I just want to run at 3.2 GHZ with 2 GB of RAM. If I run two sticks in slots 1 and 3 it runs ok, but I get ALOT of program crashed in XP. I'm sure it has something to do with memory speeds or voltages, I am just letting the board config the memory, I think it is using 2.5,4,4,8 and 2.6 V. Anyone out there have any suggestions for getting this memory to work. In reading the boards I saw that this board has problems with 4 memory sticks. They shouldn't be advertising this board can handle 4 GB of RAM if that is the case. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Before you purchase memory from either source that you linked, you should check out this memory dealer's prices for your iMac G3-500, which uses PC-100 or backward-compatible PC-133 SDRAM. Data Memory Systems' 512MB PC-100 CL-2 DIMM is only $63 and has a lifetime warranty. Your first link was for PC-133 SDRAM with a 1 year warranty, and the second link was for Kingston Value RAM (which is a mixed bag, depending on the chips used by them at any given time), both of which are priced higher than the DMS 512MB DIMM.
