Direct DB Request- Connect to2 schemas using 2 connections pools at a time?

Hello All,
Will “Direct Database Request” feature helps to connect to two connection pools at a time?
Report output is based on UNION of two select statements coming from two schemas, two connection pools are created to connect to two Schemas
First select statement is coming from one schema and second select statement is coming form the other
Select column1, column2, column3 from A, B, C
UNION
Select column4, column5, column6 from X, Y, Z
A, B, C tables are coming from first schema and X, Y, Z are coming from the other
How to get the above out put using “Direct Database Request” feature

This is a very bad idea. If you connect to the same database then it will much better to simply do synonyms and grants between the objects schema1 to schema2 so that you can use a single connection. You query will run much faster since the BI Server will not need to run separate queries to stich the data together. If the data is two different databases then you are advised to do some ETL and consolidate all the data into your datawarehouse database.

Connection to Sybase using Connection profile

I've been trying to configure a connection profile to
directly connect to a sybase database, but I have issues with the
drivers. At firt I was told that the JDBC drivers jconn3.jar
weren't found, so I downloaded the ones from Sybase :

Moreover, I try to create an application module with the view object which has an entity object. This entity object is connect to a table of sybase database. When I try to test this application module and enter the login id and password of the database server. It pop up and error "(oracle.jbo.NotConnectedException) JBO-25200: Application module is not connected to a database". In fact, I use ODBC to connect the sybase server. However, there is no "JDBC-ODBC Bridge" for me to select in the Connection Type of "Oracle Business Component Browser - Connect" wizard. What should I do? Thank you.

What happens to PSCredential obejct when connecting to O365 using Connect-MSOLService cmdlet

I've been trying to find this information on Google but I've come up short.
Basically what I want to know is how the PSCredential object is treated when connecting to O365 via the Connect-MSOLService cmdlet.
For example, running the following code creates a secure PSCredential object
$cred = get-credential
Now I can run the Connect-MSOLService cmdlet to connect to O365 like so:
Connect-MsolService -Credential $cred
My question is, how are the encrypted credentials treated when passed to O365 via the cmdlet? Are they decrypted at any point, or does O365 create a similar secure string and compare the hashes?

Direct Database Request

Hi All,
I am trying to set up a Dashboard Prompt using the SQL results of a Direct Database Request. I am using Oracle 11g.
So far I have created the connection and created the analysis using the Direct Database Request. I am using Presentation Variable to pass into the Where Statement to filter however, I need a Dashboard prompt that will display the results of a particular column (country) in the Choice list options for filtering. I have tried to go into Dashboard Prompts and create a presentation variable and then use a SQL statement to render results for the prompt choices but that does not seem to work. Does anyone have an suggetions on how to Populate a Dashboard Prompt using Direct Database Request?

I already have that presentation variable in my analysis in the where clause to limit the data request. The issue I am trying to resolve is similar to creating a filter based on another analysis.
I created an analysis using DDR the DDR results is what I want to incorporate into a dashboard prompt. So the best logical way to put it is Take the results from a DDR and place it into a Dashboard Prompt as user choices. An added bonus if I could make the presentation variable pick up multiple selections from the Dashboard prompt. I know we could change the operator to IN however the formating of the choices would have to be something like this ('@{PV_COUNTRY}') <--- minus the paranthesis.

I connect as Administrator.
I fill in Connection Pool and write a select statement. Then I validate this statement and validation returns columns (metadata).
When I want to view the results, I get an error:

How can I change the database & schema used by an Application?

Hi community,
I am very new on Essbase and I need help to find out how can I change the database connection (and schema) used by the database of an Application. The figure is that I need to point this database to a QA environment (currently it points to DEV).
If I do a right click over the properties of the database, I can see the following tabs: [ General ][ Dimensions ][ Statistics ][ Modifications ][ Compression ]. However, there is no option to change the database connection.
Is there a way to do this?

Essbase application do not have a relational connection.

Using Connect:Direct with SAP

Folks,
Client is using Connect:Direct to transfer the files from one location to another location.There are two table maintained namely T9AOA and T9AOB with Interface id and Unix scripting w.r.t Processing types respectively.
1.I don't think these are SAP standard tables then why they are not named starting with Z or Y
2.How to use Connect:Direct with SAP.
Searched in SDN and google but didn't get any clear information on the above.From google I came to know this is a Product of Sterling Commerce(AT&T).
Hope someone here who used Connect:Direct with SAP can share the info.

The existing Design,had some tables which were maintained with required Unix Scripts.In the program we are just fetching that script from the table and building a Unix Command to move the files.There is also a URL using which we can check the status of the files.As I was just using the already existing design,don't have much info on how C:D connectivity can be designed from scratch.

Yes you can !. Permission to drop those artifacts is granted except the target schema where the converted objects are. The migration repository user/connection can be dropped.

CDA XML Schema Data Connection

I have been experimenting in Adobe Designer 7.0 and want to create an CDA XML schema data connection. I used the directions in the help screen and was almost finished, but I got a pop up box that said that my XML schema file was too big. What are the size limits for XML schema files?

usually you can make the binding global and all same named fields will end up with the same value. You may not be able to do that if you have bound your field to a data node in your XML. If that is the case then you will have to do it programatically. Lets assume you have Order_Number on Page 1 and Order_Number2 on Page 2. You would code on the calculate event of the 1st Order_Number field (the one where the number is calculated) - form1.Page2.Order_Number2.rawValue = form1.Page1.Order_Number.rawValue;
You can add multiple statements to equate that value to other instances of the field as you see fit. Now when any one of those values changes all of the others will be updated auto-magically!

I have the same issue. So frustrating! I think I found a fix. It's not perfect but it works to get Siri, google maps and phone calls working all at the same time which are the most important things to me. After you start the car, go to settings on uconnect. Scroll down to the bluetooth settings. There are 2 tabs here. 1 for voice and 1 for audio. I'm doing this from memory so someone call it out if I have that wrong. Each will say "connected" in red once your iphone automatically pairs to uconnect. In the audio tab, press on the name of your phone. This will disconnect only the audio portion and leave the voice portion connected. You can now use Siri through your car speakers! Calls will still work too. Google maps will also give directions.
This all works great until you turn off the car at which point the setting will be forgotten and will have to be repeated. It's important to keep in mind that if you now play music or a podcast off your iphone it will emanate from the phone's speaker, not your car speakers. This doesn't impact me as I'll usually be listening to sirius or fm radio when I'm driving anyway. Just like when you receive a call, siri will silence sirius until you're done with siri. Same with google maps.
What this tells me is if Apple or (less likely) Chrysler ever add an option to save your bluetooth device as a voice only and not a voice&audio bluetooth device that uconnect would finally be usable with siri. I guess this means we can be more specific in our requests to apple and chrysler to resolve this issue. Hope this helps!

How can I open an AS400 connection w/o using the ODBC in the Control Panel

Is it possible that i manipulate the ODBC settings in Windows NT using Java?
I've been using the Client Access ODBC Driver (32 bit) of IBM to connect to AS400 database. Normally i would just configure my DSN and input the default library inside the Server tab that i would be using . All was working perfectly. But i was informed that the default library would vary depending on the data inputed in the library database.
As in, in our SQL Server they have there a tbl_library where in lib_type is one of it's field. This(lib_type) is where they can specify which library my program would be opening. So in this case, I can't just manually configure my DSN library when retrieving data from AS400 because it would always vary.

If you use the JDBC driver that's included in the AS/400 Toolbox for Java you don't need to use ODBC at all, you can access the AS/400 directly. See this link:

I am Shanmugavel, SharePoint developer,
I am facing the below SharePoint 2013 deployment issue while deploying using VS2012.
If i will deploy the same wsp or existing wsp
(last build) using direct powershell deployment, the solution adding properly, but the same timeout exception coming while activation the features. Please find the below error.
I tried the below activists:
1. Restarted my dev server, DB server.
2. tried the same solution id different server
3. tried existing wsp file (last build version)
4. Deactivated all the features, including project Active deployment configuration.... but still i am facing the same issue.
I hope this is not coding level issue, because still my code is not start running, before that some problem coming.

What you need to understand is the installation of a WSP does not do much. It just makes sure that you relevant solution files are deployed to the SharePoint farm.
Next comes the point when you activate the features. It is when the code which you have written to "Activate" certain features for your custom solution.
Regarding the error you are getting, it typically means that you have more connections (default is I guess 100) open for a SQL database then you are allowed to.
If you have a custom database and you are opening a connection, make sure you close it as well.
