Directory configuration error
After the installation I found this error in the administration console:
"Directory configuration could not be completed during install. It is required for MTA sync."
GroupWise seems to work alright, though.
What does the error mean, and do I have to take action?
GW2014 is installed on Win2008R2, without any directory associations. It’s an upgrade from GW2012 on Win2003R2, with eDirectory association.
Thanks!

Thanks for the answer, but as I wrote
"GW2014 is installed on Win2008R2, without any directory associations."
Since we upgraded from 2012 with eDirectory, I expect it's some leftovers from the old installation.
I just don't know if my GW2014 might have a (hidden) malfunction somewhere due to this error.
Thanks
Jens Jakob

Check your eDirectory configuration and check the log of the mta where
you activated the eDir sync. Check if you have the "Tree" Object in LDAP
Servers and it holds correct information.
If that is all working fine, check if your users (check when connected
to each domain) have correct LDAP information - if not, see that your
primary domain holds correct information and then rebuild each secondary
domain from the primary (at least that was that I did).

In that case you should probably check that no other packages are missing files with
pacman -Qkk 2>&1 | grep "No such file or directory"
Any packages that report that they're missing files, you should reinstall. -
Adobe CS5 Configuration Error 16
Hi,
I am having an issue on my Macs running Adobe CS5 installed via Adobe's default installer with a volume license key. I have local non-adminstrator mobile user accounts that authenticate to open directory. They are non syncing.
On some machines, when a mobile user logs in and tries to run any Adobe app, there is a pop up with CS5 Configuration Error 16. Please reinstall Adobe CS5. I've checked the permissions of the directories listed in http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error-cs5.html#main_AdobeP CD
and they are correct. I've determined that the root cause is a cache.db-journal file that belongs to a different user. If I delete this file (as admin), the problem goes away. What causes this file to exist? What causes it to persist between users? Should I add a login script to delete the cache.db-journal file if it exists?
Thanks.I finally got everything working, despite the ineffectual help of the Adobe support team. Maybe my solution will be helpful.
I loaded a duplicate of my system saved BEFORE installing the Cloud Manager onto another drive. Then I loaded the Cloud Manager onto my current boot drive and sure enough, got the Error 16. Then I loaded the OLD version of the Adobe PCD file from my duplicate drive. No go. Then I loaded the OLD SLStore file. Still Error 16.
BUT then I replaced the SLCache folder and BINGO! problem gone. I noticed in the folder is another called SLConfigs. I am not sure it is a permissions issue or something that happens to this file when the Cloud Manager updates these files, but by reloading the pre-install version of this foldeer I have fixed the problem. I repeated the fix on another machine. I have now downloaded the CC apps with no issues. -

http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=876022&tstart=0
followed all the Metalnk Notes and did all the configurations
but still not working
Apps version : 11.5.10.2
DB version : 10.2.0.2
Patches :
5240536 - applied
2645031 - Not Applied
plz helpHi,
The Notes are somehow conflicting
*274179.1*
Check if following database profiles are set.
BNE_UIX_BASE_PATH
BNE_UIX_PHYSICAL_DIRECTORY
If set, please unset the above profiles (remove from the site value)..
*888386.1*
Set the following 2 system profiles as follows:
BNE UIX Physical Directory $COMMON_TOP/webapps/oacore/html/cabo/
BNE Upload Staging Directory /tmp
*1058772.1*
Unset the 'BNE_UIX_PHYSICAL_DIRECTORY' profile option (null value is the default) and set other BNE profile options with the correct value
But anyways, I have checked both - setting and unsetting the profile options and bounced apache
But still not working
plz help -

For Tomcat 3.x you need to use one of the following options:
(Note: this is with JBoss/Tomcat OR JBoss/Jetty)
Place you .war files in the following location:
C:\jboss-3.0.3\server\default\deploy and the app is automatically available.
If my app's name is DavidOnline.war, when deployed, I can access it at
http://localhost:8080/DavidOnline..
OR
Copy your entire development directory to the deploy direction above, RENAME your
directory from say C:\JspApps to C:\JspApps.war and you can work from that location and see your changes immeadiatly.
There is a file called jboss-service.xml that has some config options, also for the Tomcat bundle there is a file named tomcat-service.xml that has the standard server.xml section.. I suggest you check out the JBoss website, free docs and forums.. http://www.jboss.org.
Thanks, Hope this helps. -
BPM Configuration Error on Weblogic Configuration
Hi,
I try to configure BPM Directory and always get error on wlst.sh command
weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceSystemException: Cannot load driver class: weblogic.jdbcx.oracle.OracleDataSource
My system spec:
- Solaris SPARC 64
- Weblogic 10.3.0.0 using JRockit 1.6.0_16
- BPM 10gR3
The configuration error in weblogic configuration.
Really need help here..
Thanks
Regards,
Eric WijayaHi Eric,
Just checking: Are you using BPM 10.3.2?
Do you mean the BPM Directory Configuration?Yes, I'm talking about the directory configuration and the engine configuration too.
I've configure the BPM Directory to use BPM's Oracle Driver Version:10,11 which is selected by default by the BPM Configuration Wizard but still got the jdbc driver error. If you are using 10.3.2, you will see that there is another driver called: "Oracle Driver Version:10,11" (without BPM!!). You must use that driver. (if you install the latest 10.3.2 HF, that driver is the default one).
If you don't have that driver, then you are using an older version than 10.3.2. Please migrate to 10.3.2.
Hope this helps,

Edited by: 800166 on Jan 24, 2011 2:36 PMYou're in luck...we experienced this issue. We are in a distributed environment and had configurator open on two boxes. Our theory is that the configurators get into a pushing match and lock out the Shared Services database thus causing Configurator to never launch again.
We dropped the schema in the Shared Services database and then configurator was able to run again

CJS-30059 Java EE Engine configuration error
Hi,
I am installing Solution Manager 4.0 SR2 on windows X86_64/DB6.

First I am trying again with downgraded version of j2sdk from 1.4.2_15 to j2sdk-1.4.2_12. I hope this should work. If not, is there any way, so that i skip this phase "Configure System Landscape Directory" and jump to next phase? I can configure SLD manually later-on. Please suggest is this the right approach?
Please help.
Thanks,
- GauravHI,
I think SAP recommend using J2SDK1.4.2_15. Since this windows, have your java env as >> Drive:\j2sdk1.4.2_15...
Try if this is gonna work.

Hi, I have installed obiee 10.1.3.4.2 version over my windows 7 desktop. After installation, when tried with opening the admin tool, i'm getting a side by side configuration error. Please help what to do to overcome this
Go through the Doc id 1067138.1 at Metalink below is the extract.
The following procedure must be done by a UNIX administrator or by an Oracle BI Administrator with sufficient privileges.
To download Oracle BI installation files under UNIX:
1. Log in as the user who is to run the Oracle BI processes.
2. Insert the Oracle Business Intelligence infrastructure installation DVD.
3. Change to the directory where the installation DVD is mounted (or change directory to the downloaded software).
4. Download the Oracle BI files by using FTP to copy them to the desired server and directory.
Note: Make sure to FTP all the files in binary mode, including license.xml.
5. After the files are downloaded, check that the files in the top level directory, such as setup.sh, have execute permissions.
execute the command: ls -la or ls -ltr
Confirm that the files have permissions resembling these:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 oracle dba 6395 Aug 9 22:11 license.xml
-rwxr-xr-x 1 oracle dba 657328 Aug 9 22:10 Solaris.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 12 Aug 9 22:04 media.inf
drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba 4096 Aug 9 22:11 script
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 501194022 Aug 9 22:10 setup.jar
-r-xr-xr-x 1 oracle dba 1311 Aug 9 22:11 setup.sh
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 104 Aug 9 22:04 version.txt(Mark the asnwer as helpful of Correct if it is )

Internet Directory Configuration Assistant fails
I have installed 10g Infrastructure, but when the Internet Directory Configuration Assistant runs, it fails with the following error:
Output generated from configuration assistant "Internet Directory Configuration Assistant":
389
636
cn=orcladmin
asdb
infra904.superfatpc
Error occured during the previous operation. Please see the log files.oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDCAException: The following port is not free :389
Configuration assistant "Internet Directory Configuration Assistant" failed
The ports 389 and 636 are surely free (no process holds them).
Even though the OIDCA fails, I still can log in the directory at port 389. (There's no entry in the directory at all)
In the release notes for version 9.0.4 of OracleAS, there's a section titled:
Configuration Assistant Failure on Computer without Appended Domain Name.
This is actually my case since my computer do not have the domain name appended, it's just a standardlone computer.
Oracle also exposes the solutions to workarround this issue, but it couldn't help me because my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora are already correct.
If any one has experience with this problem before, please help me!
My computer:
P4 2.8GHz, socket 775, 1G RAM
OS: Windows Server 2003
OracleAS 9.0.4Did the installer pre-check return any warnings? can you connect to the OID backend DB. e.g. via sqlplus? Basically this looks like a TAR you should open at metalink.

"Configuration Error" message on launching Admin tool
Hi
I installed OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6 client on windows 7 machine and created a DSN also. When I launch the admin tool. I get "configuration error" message.
Can someone help in identifying what it is and how to resolve it.
Regards
SunilFor future readers, I was able to resolve this problem. Here's how:
For the "Configuration Error" dialog when doing a stand-alone 64-bit Windows client install, you need to go to the "C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin" directory, change the permissions to the "bi_init.cmd" file so you can edit it, and comment out the line that starts "set ORACLE_INSTANCE". You'll get a new error dialog when you try to open the tool complaining that the ORACLE_INSTANCE variable is not set, but you can click through it and the tool will work fine.
For the issue of RPD version 318 vs 320, you need to download the 11.1.1.6.2 version of the client, which has been released as a patch (it's really just a full install). It's patch 13794002.
Good luck!
Rick
