Disable antennas on newly joined AP's
Is it possible to automatically shutdown the antennas on newly joined AP's to the controller?
Having a problem where staged AP's are broadcasting out incorrect SSID's for the building.
Thanks
Larnel
I'm assuming these are fresh out-of-the box LWAPs, and that your WLANs have WLAN ID's <=16.
All WLANs having ID's <=16 are members of the Default AP group. New LWAP's are members of the Default group until assigned to a different group. Thus they inherit all WLAN's (SSID's) of the Default group.
Two options:
Delete and recreate the WLAN's, manually assigning each WLAN a WLAN ID >16. This will keep the WLAN's out of the default group and the new LWAP's will not inherit these WLAN's.
Prime the LWAP's at your desk before staging and set them to Admin Down before deployment. This will prevent inherited WLAN's from appearing on the air even though the WLAN's are in the Default AP group.

Disabling messages such as "joined Cluster"
Hi,
I'm writing command-line utilities to work with the caches, is there a way to disable or reduce the messages when connecting to the cluster, such as "joined Cluster with senior member"?
Thanks,
HarryHarry,
The verboseness of the Coherence logging is controlled by the "logging-config/severity-level" configuration element in operational configuration descriptor and could be overridden either in a custom tangosol-coherence-override.xml descriptor or using the "tangosol.coherence.log.level" environment property. OOTB log level is set to 5; changing it to 3 will significantly reduce the amount of logging.

How to disable Firefox's newly default Plugin Activation checker in FF 25?
I upgraded my Firefox to 25, from 24 I'm getting problem regarding installation of any add on. Every time I start Firefox it notify me to install the disabled plugin. I allow installation, and then restart FF, but it still stay opened and open a new tab for the same prompt. It's not just annoying, but it's not installing the add on into my FF.
I just want to DISABLE (by unchecking or sth.) the default feature into my FF.
I'm a developer and aware enough what add on is running behind the scene and how to remove them.Which plugin(s) is/are involved in this alert?
Just to be sure: do you mean extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or plugins (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) as those are different add-ons?
In case of extensions, you can check for problems with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end side of the Search Bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.sqlite file. -

AIR-CAP3702I booting up in mesh mode and not joining our 5508 WLC
I have a batch of 30+ AIR-CAP3702I-A-K9 APs that I need to setup but none of them are joining to the 5508 WLC and when I connect a console cable and view the output from the AP it shows that it is trying to initiate in mesh mode. I have read other forums that are showing that I need to put in the APs MAC address to a filter list on the WLC for it to show up and then I will be able to change it from mesh mode to local mode. The only issue I'm having with that solution is not knowing how it will affect my current production environment off of that 5508 WLC. I have 69 active production APs with clients working off them and there are no MAC filters currently in place on the WLC. By adding a MAC filter entry for the new APs would the WLC create an implicit deny for all other clients that don't have their MAC addresses entered?? If so is there another work around? Can the mode be changed via the CLI on the AP itself to make it local instead of mesh?

Internal Assertion Error while using outer join
Hi-
Has anyone experienced this error before: State: HY000. Code: 397397248. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46036] Internal Assertion: Condition !pConjunct->IsAndCond(), file server/Query/Optimizer/Request/Src/SQORToCNF.cpp, line 46. (HY000)
It happened after I changed the join in logical layer from inner join into left outer join from Fact Tab1 to Fact Tab2, This needs to be changed for cases:
Fact Tab1 contains:
Period|Currency|FX Rate
Mar-09|USD|1
Apr-09|USD|1.1
Fact Tab2 contains:
Period|Currency|Product|Profit
Mar-09|USD|Metal Abs|1000
Mar-09|USD|Grey Wood|2000
Expected Result:
Period|Currency|Product|Profit|FX Rate
Mar-09|USD|Metal Abs|1000|1
Mar-09|USD|Grey Wood|2000|1
Apr-09|USD|(NULL)|(NULL)|1.1
But, it shows the error as above (have changed the SERVER_THREAD_STACK_SIZE to 512 KB too but no luck, any idea?
Thanks,
WillHey Will,
Recently I've seen OBIEE generate some bad queries on an Oracle Database. I had setup a few time series measures and when I added more than three into a report, I got a table not found error. It turned out that it was a combination of the query getting very complex and the way it was using ANSI SQL Left Outer Join operator. I'm wondering if your situation is similar.
Can you try the following?
1. Log into the RPD and for your user, set the logging level to 7 (Manage->Security then find your user).
2. Clear all the caches (BI Server=Manage->Cache delete them all, Presentation Server=Settings->Manage Sessions then close all cursors)
3. Run the report for a date range that works fine
4. Run the report for a date range that causes the error.
5. Look at the physical SQL generated in the log files (Settings->Manage Sessions)
Compare the two queries and see if anything stands out. In fact try to execute both in SQL Developer or Toad and see if you get any errors. If you can, post the physical SQL and I might be able to notice something.
Just to confirm, you're using OCI to connect to an Oracle source right?
In my situation, I fixed it by disabling the LEFT OUTER JOIN syntax on the database. We might be able to get you to do something similar to fix your problem.
Thanks!

Has anyone had experience with a JOIN not returning the result that the data shows it should?
I am writing a query to join two tables across DBs and I know that most of the IDs in the joining columns do in fact match, but when I INNER JOIN, no rows are returned. As you would expect, a LEFT OUTER JOIN RESULTS in my right table showing and a full set of null values for each of the columns of the newly joined table.
Has anyone come across this behavior?
I can even do a select on the table to be joined and use the where clause to show that some of the values from the first table do in fact existed within the table to be joined.
I'm frustrated and a little confused.
Can anyone help?

DPotterAre the columns on which you are joining are of DATE datatype? If yes then without TRUNC you will be in trouble.
If it is not the case give column datatypes and sample data.
See the simple example below:
SQL> SELECT 1 VAL
FROM DUAL
WHERE SYSDATE = TO_DATE('08-MAY-2008','DD-MON-YYYY') ; 2 3
no rows selected
SQL> SELECT SYSDATE
FROM DUAL; 2
SYSDATE
08-MAY-08
SQL>
SELECT 1 VAL
FROM DUAL
WHERE TRUNC(SYSDATE) = TO_DATE('08-MAY-2008','DD-MON-YYYY') ;SQL> 2 3
VAL

Unable to join my wifi network
It has been working good the last 10 months until this past week. The modem is working and my netgear router is working properly but my imac and my iPod touch cannot connect to my network. I have even disabled the password to join still no luck. So far i have reloaded the router software and updated its firmware. Other people have tried to join my network with their devices and they are unable to join as well. Not sure what to do next can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
TonyIf you have reset the router to its factory defaults and nothing can connect through it, then it's not working.

I have a client that is adding 18 new AP's to their network. After getting them configured in the correct vlan, only 5 of them join the WLC (5508). When I look at the AP join statistics, it shows the following:
RADIUS authorization is pending for the AP
However, under the AP Policies, the 'Authorize MIC APs against auth-list or AAA' option is disabled.
I am stumped on this one.
TIA for any ideas. Also, I do not have console access the AP's as the client already had them mounted above the ceiling tiles somewhere.
Edit: Here is the output of show auth-list from the WLC:

WLC 4402 Multiple clients can connect to AP but only one gets an IP
I have a 4402 which is connected to a 4506 Switch int Gig 3/1 via a trunk port. The Managment and AP-manger interfaces are on vlan 6

I have a 1142N AP also connected to the switch and it pulls a DHCP IP Address and configs etc and registers to the WLC. It too is on Vlan 6 and it is connected to the 4506 on int gig 4/33 which is an access port.

I am doing local authentication, so i have added users to the WLC
My problem is that the first client that connected was able to get an IP address and connect to anything internal and external.
I then connected another client on another laptop and that client could connect but not get an IP address, it just self assigned.
When i look at the clients i can see the MAC address of both Clients on the WLC, but doing a show mac address-table dynamic i only see the MAC of the client that works properly. The client that doesnt get an IP has no entry in the 4506 switch.
I am stumped, from what I understand, is that the 2nd clients traffic is being trunked to the WLC , hence it has the MAC address. But I dont know why its not getting a DHCP assigned IP address.
Thanks in advance for your help. Here is some of the WLC config,

Cisco WLC 5500 ver.8 running config
Does anybody have a complete "show-run" running config from a 5500 series controller, "sanitized" of course, they would care to post to share?
I need to create some config examples and do not have a piece of hardware to work with.

Windows Vista Crashing When Ipod is Plugged In. Blue Screen of Death?
A week ago, my computer suddenly started to reboot whenever I plugged my 5th generation 80 gig Ipod in to sync. A blue screen will pop up, and automatically restart.
I do not believe this is the blue screen of death that appeared 2 months ago. I have upgraded to Itunes 8.0.1 when it was first released, and I had no problems until a week ago. I haven't heard of anyone receiving the blue screen of death since the update to Itunes 8 was released.
I have also lost all of my music from my Ipod, so I am anxious to figure this out.
Here is what the blue screen (certain passages paraphrased, the specifics were copied directly):
A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
BADPOOLHEADER
If this is the firs time you've seen this stop error screen, restart yoru computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Make sure all hardware and software is properly installed
If it continues, disable/remove any newly installed hardware and software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shawoding. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 for Advanced Sartup options, then select safe mode.

Any help you have would be greatly appreciated!Have you tried the troubleshooting advice in this article?

Was a file name mentioned in the stop message? usually something.sys That can be a clue to the problem is the Apple advice doesn't help. -
SharePoint 2013 Foundation Search - Change the admin components to the new WFE server
Hi,
We tried to move the Search Service Application from one server to another server which was newly joined in the Farm.
In this case, the Search Service in my App server - which was working earlier also did not work. I tried almost all Powershell scripts to stop the service, and i could not make it.
Please let me know, how to stop the search service in both servers and to run only in the new server that i have joined.
Also, we need to move all Search Admin components to the new server, and from then Search Index should work only in the new server and not the old one.
Kindly let me know the possibility how can this be achieved.
Thanks in Advance!Hi Karthikanandh,
If you want to stop the Search service in both servers and only run in the new server, then you can stop the service in Central Administration in both the two servers and start the service in new server.
Please go to Central Administration > System Settings > Manage service on server > change the server to the one that you need to stop the search service and then stop the search service.
To move the search admin component to another server, then you need to clone the active Search topology and move that component, and then then activate the topology and move the remaining components.

Chat room using multicast socket
hi-
i have a chat room based on multicast socket with a SWING GUI interface. i want group members to be able to establish a shared secret(bases on extended n-party diffie-hellman algorithm) to encrypt all messages exchanged . Re-keying happens upon member join and leave. In order to do key agreement i need to identify the number of subscribers in the multicast chat room all time. i am having trouble setting up a centralized counter to keep track of distributed users 'cause each time a user joins the chat he or she invokes a different copy of the chat program(command line usage: java chatroom <user name>). please help me setting up a counter to count the subscriber and identify joins and leaves.... my main questin is where within the program to set up a counter variable like this to keep track of distributed users? please help...thanks!thanks for your reply... ummm yeah securing a chat room based on multicast poses many problems mainly because of the lack of a chat server. i really haven't gotten any of them sorted out. well the only reason to use encryption is to provide perfect forward secrecy and backward secrecy, meaning a user who just joined the chat room can't decipher any previous session of conversation prior to his join and a user who just left the chat room can't use the group session key he had to decrypt any future conversation. Access control and authorization is ignored. User can join the chat room without permission of the existing members.
yes a flat hierarchy is assumed(all group members are treated equally....no fixed member is given privilege to generate and distribute keys). However, for the key agreement protocol to take place the last joined member is chosen as a group leader and is responsible of re-keying his share in the previous group session key. The newly joined member adds his share and everybody computes the new group session key based on Diffie-Hellman. This group leader role floats...
you are right... without being able to detect joins/leaves and the correct order of those joins and leaves, none of these can be realized.
Can i chain a separate server just to keep track of membership changes? -
I need to create a report that have 2 columns, which are sum of sales and count of customer (from 2 difference tables).
where i create a caculation-->COUNT_DISTINCT(customer_id)
and sum of sales. I hit the below error :-
"Invalid Combination of joins using different join keys - query cannot be resolved."
Is there any way to solve the error without using partition? I dont wan to use partition, because I need to create a new calculation when i create a new report.
Thanx for any suggestion or solution. It is do with the fact that you have two different join conditions joining this table. Try disabling the
"the multiple join path detection option" in Discoverer Plus or Discoverer Desktop.
