  • Submit Button Acrobat 9 Pro & Select Email Client Screen

    I'm new to Acrobat and creating forms and need help.  I've created a few forms for work using 8 Pro, which have been successful.  I decided to purchase 9 Pro for home and use for our school's PTU membership drive.
    I created a form using a Word doc and the Acrobat Form Wizard.  It worked, I adjusted my fields, added a Submit button with mailto:[email protected] as the URL and want to distribute the form as "save and distribute later."  This works.  When I bring up the form for a test run, and submit to myself I get a pop up asking to Select Email Client - do I use Outlook (a few others are also listed) or Yahoo or Hotmail as my email servers.  If I click Outlook, everything is fine, the document gets forwarded to me with no problem (because I use Outlook).  My concern is for members who don't use Outlook (or the others).  They have to go through more steps by saving the doc to their hard drive and emailing it to me as an attachment.  I would really like to avoid extra steps for them.
    It there a something I'm missing in setting up my Submit button so it automatically gets emailed to me irregardless as to what they are using for email server?
    I have searched for 2 hours and have come up with nothing that I understand.  If you respond, please remember to be clear as I'm not a techno person.
    Thanks for ANY and ALL help you can provide.

    You are running into some of the classic problems/concerns for new users with forms. I will try to summarize the issues related to your work:
    1. You can create forms directly in Acrobat under the TOOLS menu using the form tools found there, or by selecting the options in the FORMS menu that generally take you to LiveCycle Designer. Questions on the forms should be put to the appropriate forum of these two, since the processing and menus are different.
    2. Having the forms be allowed to be saved (necessary for submitting the full form and not just the data that can be imported to the form) requires Reader Rights to be activated for clients using Reader. This activation limits the form use to 500 uses (check section 15 of the EULA for more details) that could be a problem for you, depending on the school size. If you have the form data submitted and do not activate the Rights, then there is not a limitation. Simply import the XML or FDF file into the form when you get it.
    3. The e-mail submission you have concerns about is valid. If you do not mind getting questions that it would not work on their machine, then fine. The e-mail submission will not work on all machines (PC , MAC, or UNIX). It depends on the client setup (you have no control), historically requiring MAPI to be active (typical of Outlook, but not other packages). In AA9/AR9 there appear to have been some extensions to this, but a lot of folks use version 9. In fact I have a different version that has come on every machine I have and do not have AA9 yet (AA4-AA8), with even older versions lying around some place. A few weeks ago someone checked in who was using AA4. Since I mentioned this problem, the solutions are:
    a. live with it and ask folks who can not submit to copy the info into the body of an e-mail or such.
    b. find someone who can add the proper scripts to a web server to receive the data. The school IT folks (if any) might be able to help there.
    c. submit the data in HTML form through a cgi-mail or formmail server that is available on many ISP servers (you may have to ask). These servers require some hidden fields telling the server where to send the submitted form data.
    Hope that helps. Bill

  • Need to avoid Select Email Client dialog when submitting Acrobat X form

    We are using Windows 7 / Office 2010 32-bit with Adobe Pro X, and have found that when creating a PDF from a Word 2010 document (via either print or convert or Word PDF or XPS), then using Acrobat to create a form from it, when we apply the action Submit a Form, the finished product presents users with a Select Email Client dialog.  The choices within the dialog are Desktop or Internet email.  We are using a direct email address, not a server location.  This happens even when NOT using the Distribute wizard.  Outlook is confirmed as the email choice in Adobe Preferences Internet Settings.  Anyone encounter this issue and have a fix or workaround?  We want the email to auto-create as it does in our XP / Acrobat 8 Pro environment without a dialog presentation.
    Thanks for any and all thoughts!

    Yes, you are right that is the way to go.  Thank you!
    I have tested and am now using successfully:
    // Set email address
    var cToAddr = "%email.address%";
    // Set the subject and body text for the e-mail message
    var cSubLine = "Survey Response";
    var cBody = "Message body text";
    // Send the form data as a PDF attachment in an e-mail message
    this.mailDoc({bUI: false, cTo: cToAddr, cSubject: cSubLine, cMsg: cBody});

  • Submit by email bypass Select Email client

    I would like to bypass the Select Email Client screen that pops up when you use the submit by email button and automatically have it choose OTHER so that the XML data can be saved to a network drive.
    Is there a way while doing this that I can also have a pop up message that tells the user how to name the file and proper directory in which to place the file?

    No, I don't think this is possible. You could submit the document via HTTP to a servlet (or some server side component) and then email the XDP from there there, or do whatever you want with it. That would be transparent to the user, and I believe this is what Aandi is refering to.
    If you email the document, it will ask the user how they want to email it, ie: desktop mail client, web mail, etc.

    I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
    My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
    But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

    use this to pass to the bapi BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_GETDETAIL. this is function module & will return the address details in diff itabs..
    You can also try the Table ADR6 field SMTP_ADDR where ADDRNUMBER = KNVK-ADRNP_2.

  • Vonage email notifications and Apple Mail client

    Vonage provides a very nice feature in which, as soon as someone leaves a voice mail message, Vonage sends out an email notification to up to five different email addresses, in addition to sending a text message to a cell phone alerting you that someone has left you a voice message on your Vonage phone. Besides getting just a text-based email notification, you can also opt to have Vonage attach a .WAV file to the email it sends to those email accounts you list in your account settings page on the Vonage web site. I think this is a great feature, because I have my iPhone set up to receive the text message, and I also configured my email accounts to receive the email notifications together with the attached .WAV file, so I can listen to the recorded voice mail messages right on the iPhone, without having to dial in to a Vonage number, or go to the Vonage web site to listen to the voice mail via a computer.
    While the Vonage email notifications with the attached .WAV files arrive just fine in my mac.com and my aol.com email accounts, those same email messages are NOT being sent to my the roadrunner.com email account provided by Time-Warner cable, my Internet Service Provider.
    When I brought this matter up the tech support people at Vonage, they theorized that the roadunner server might be blocking receipt of the emails sent by the Vonage server. However, the problem does not seem to be related to roadrunner.com, because those email messages actually do reside on the roadrunner server. I can see them all right, but only if I use a browser and check my messages via their Web Mail application. For some mysterious reason, my Apple Mail client is NOT receiving those messages, and I have no clue why that would be so.
    Does anybody know what is going on here? Shouldn't Apple Mail be able to retrieve all the messages on the roadruner server? What could prevent Apple Mail from being able to do that? And, is there anything I can do to make those email notifications —with their attached .WAV files—show up in my Inbox in Apple Mail?
    Since I thankfully receiving those email notifications at my mac.com and my aol.com accounts, this is not a mission-critical issue for me. It is merely one of one technical curiosity.

    To close out this thread, about all I can say is that the issue does not seem to be related to Apple software or to my Internet Service Provider. It is a Vonage issue that can only be fixed by calling Vonage tech support and getting their programmer/technicians to do whatever it is that they to do on their end to configure their Vonage email notifications to function correctly. If something sneezes, as it did in regards to my account, then Vonage tech support is the first place to call.
    I'll consider this issue "answered" now.

    When I send a document for signature, two emails are sent to my client and myself. How do I make sure only one is sent?

    Hi Mark,
    I checked your account at the backend and found many transactions sent out.
    In order to narrow down the issue and search we need to know the specific transaction detail for which you faced this issue.
    1. Signers email address
    2. Senders email address
    3.Name of the document
    4. Date it was sent.
    Do not post the information here. Send me a private message
    Also let me know which 2 mails did you receive? Could you please share the subject line for the same.
    Regards,

  • Simple contact form Client not receiving email from test site

    I have entered my client's verified email, cut and pasted it into place. I have added my email and my wifes email. The only person not getting the forms email info is my client. I'm baffled.

    The URL for the site is getthenetbassguide com.businesscatalyst.com/index.html. I have added several peoples email address', including my own to the back end of the form. As I've said the only person not receiving emails is my client who opened an account with 1 and 1. I contacted 1 and 1. They show no spam filters on their end so I'm still baffled. I asked about firewall permissions and they were not helpful. Is there a way to monitor the email and see what could be blocking it?

  • Journal mailbox, archiving and "Client submission probe" emails

    My company does db level journaling which causes all of "Client submission probe" emails to be journaled. We use Symantec Enterprise Vault to archive all the emails as soon as they arrive in journaling mailbox. I am testing various solutions to
    prevent these emails from being archived and would like to know what other people have done to address this issue. I've read a few solutions and none of them we can fully implement. 1 - we can't turn off these probe emails due to IT policy, 2 - I can't create
    a "hard delete" rule as it's only a client side rule, 3 - I have created a rule to move them to Deleted item but those don't empty manually and I don't like have scheduled tasks running when it comes to mailbox management (create a PS script to autoempty
    the Deleted Items after a period of time). I am considering creating a transport rule that will block those emails from ever arriving at the journaling mailbox but I am yet to test this.
    How have you addressed this problem?
    PS. I created a transport rule but I don't think it's able to catch messages that are placed into the journaling mailbox.

    Hi Rivkis,
    Thank you for your question.
    We would like to know more details about “Client submission probe”.
    By my understanding, you want to block journaling which send from “client submission probe”, we could compare the “client submission probe” journaling with generally email journaling, if we find any differences, then create transport rule to block it. Because
    journaling has database level and mailbox level, database level can exclude the specific mailbox, but mailbox level cannot exclude the specific email for journaling. If I misunderstand, please be free to let me know.
    If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Email Being Sent Directly from Client PC

    Got kinda a weird thing going on with our exchange 2013 SP1 with 1 DAG and 2 server members. When you use OWA to send an email, it appears as though that PC is directly sending the email and not the exchange server(s). Let me expand on that if you will:
    i login to my email using OWA. I send an email to my personal email account that is yahoo. When i view the headers from that email, this appears:
    x-originating-ip: [192.168.123.165]
    That is my laptop ip and not the ip of any of the exchange servers. Why is my laptop submitting email when i send the email from OWA which is running on our exchange servers?

    That is by design: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Originating-IP

  • HT4519 Default email is set but emails are being sent from another account

    I have set up my email accounts on my iPad and set the default email as my home email. I have just noticed that all emails sent from my iPad are being sent from a different account.  What am I missing?

    Edit the address book entry to uncheck use display names. If you want to disable it completely Tools menu (Alt+T) > options > advanced >reading and Display and turn off the use of display names.
    You never had this issue with Outlook.... The question is what did the recipient see, not what did you see. If they did not use Outlook there is a good chance they saw what was in their address book. You can address your mail as sent by "Very Important person from Very Profitable Company" If I add you to my address book as "The Goblin" I see "The Goblin" This is because Thunderbird places control in the hands of the user. Outlook does not. Note the Multiple ways to view a message body on the view menu.
    I get your frustration, but your no longer using Outlook. Outlook is an excellent exchange client. I find it actually does email badly.

  • Looking for quicker way to receive client's selection...

    Hi guys and gals.
    Currently my workflow is to export low res images and send to my client via Dropbox or We Transfer.  They pick selects, email me a list of file names, then I go through and find the files to work on.  There has to be a better way!  Is it possible to share a folder or collection with them and have them tag or rate their selects, then have that data transferred to me so I can bypass the "finding" stage?  That stage seems archaic.  Is this better achieve in Lightroom Mobile via Cloud or Web Galleries w/ lightroom?
    Thanks!
    Matt Licari

    You can certainly do it with Lightroom Mobile / Web.
    The process is that after syncing a collection to LrM, right click the collection in LR Desktop or go to the Share setting on the iPad/Phone. You mark the collection as "public" (it's not really, unless someone guesses a really obscure URL) and share the URL with the client. The client then marks favourites - ie selects - and can make comments (they just need a free Adobe account). These automatically flow into LR 5.7 which has a new Sort Order - latest comments. So sort the collection and select the favourites.
    Give it a try.

  • When I select a "compose email" from my GoDaddy email page, it opens up another whole Foxfire window. I can't seem to have it open into another tab instead.

    When I select a "compose email" from my GoDaddy email web page, it opens up another whole new Foxfire window. I can't seem to have it open into the existing Foxfire window but just another tab instead.

    Firefox diverts most new windows to tabs, but there is an exception when a website uses a script to specify the window's dimensions or removes some toolbars. To remove the exception, you can make a change under the covers. This could be awkward for genuine dialog windows that don't make sense to view in a separate tab, but if you find it more annoying than useful, you can easily switch back.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (3) Confirm that the '''browser.link.open_newwindow''' preference is set to its default value of 3 (divert new windows to a tab instead), or right-click > Reset to get that value
    (4) Double-click the '''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction''' preference and change the value from 2 to 0 (that's a zero) and click OK
    Any luck?
    For future reference, the possible values for the window/tab preferences are:
    <strong>(A) browser.link.open_newwindow</strong>
    3 = divert new window to a new tab (<u>default</u>) (checked*)
    2 = allow link to open a new window (unchecked*)
    1 = force new window into same tab
    <strong>*</strong> First checkbox in Options &gt; Tabs
    <strong>(B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction</strong> - for links in Firefox tabs
    0 = apply the setting under (A) to ALL new windows (even script windows)
    2 = apply the setting under (A) to normal windows, but NOT to script windows with features (<u>default</u>)
    1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows
    <strong>(C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external</strong> - for links in other programs
    -1 = apply the setting under (A) to external links (<u>default</u>)
    3 = open external links in a <u>new tab</u> in the last active window
    2 = open external links in a <u>new window</u>
    1 = open external links in the <u>last active tab</u> replacing the current page
