Disable Migration Prompt at Startup

Good day,
We are automating the deployment of SQLDeveloper 1.5 but we would like to disable the Migration prompt during the initial startup.
I would like to know if it's possible to disable it and how to do so.
Thanks

Adding the following to sqldeveloper.boot will disable the migration prompt:
nomigrate=true
Thanks,
Brian

  • Bookmark sharing and "Force Prompts on Startup" option

    Hi all,
I notice a strange behaviour in my application running with DS 1.3 SP 01; working with Chrome Version 36 and launching the app from the BI Launchpad on BO server:
The application has the option "Force Prompts on Startup" set to TRUE.
When I share a saved bookmark, then a popup opens with the URL and the hyperlink "Open Link". So far, so good... Once I click on the link "Open Link" a new Chrome tab is openend and the application is loaded in the correct navigation state and with the correct variable values - but without showing the initial prompts screen!
If I then do any interaction, e. g. clicking a button, the initial prompts screen is showing up and the variables are filled with the (correct) values from the saved bookmark !? Well, I could confirm that prompts screen with "OK" and then it disappears and the script action from the button is executed correctly.
But... I would assume, that either:
    a) the prompts screen is shown directly after opening the link (like it is the case if you perform the "Load Bookmark" operation)
    OR
    b) not shown at all
Do you notice a similar behaviour in your application or can you explain, why this happens?
    Regards,
    Philipp

    Hello Karol,

The code in the onBackgroundProcessing() is fully commented... so there should be no influence.

  • Please let us disable update prompts

Forgive me for my frustrated tone (or don't)...
I'm getting so tired of this **bleep**. Why on earth isn't there an option to disable update prompts? Every single time I start up skype I get an update pop-up. Twice. I've searched for solutions, but none of them worked for me. This should just be an option within the client itself, even if hidden under an "advanced" tab to stay in line with how dumb you assume your users are. Possibly the most mind boggling part is how other people on the exact same version don't seem to get any update prompts, nor do I get them on my laptop.
I just do not want your **bleep** update. Why are you trying to force it down my throat? I'm all for security updates but I'm not on board with following the trend of catering your UI to four year olds. I like an interface that's clean and clear and doesn't try so hard to look "hip". The least you could do is add options to use the old interface/disable new """features""".
P.S. While you're at it, stop automatically capitalizing brand names like "Always" in my sentences. And stop making my asterisks bold **bleep**, they already have a different purpose... *sigh*

    Download Skype 7.0
    http://www.skype.com/go/download
go to Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Settings -> Compact Chat View (on)
Also View -> Compact Sidebar View (on)
also Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Appearance -> Show Oversized Emoticons (off)
and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
    or
    Download Skype 6.21 from http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.21.0.104.msi or http.//filehippo.com/download_skype/58884/
Make sure you go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Skype Updater -> set to DISABLED
and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
and add 127.0.0.1 download.skype.com to your host file if you want to go for certain.
Also worth noting that C:\users\youruser\appdata\roaming\skype\shared.xml -> go to <EnableWiki> and turn 1 to 0 to disable the **~~__@@!! thing.

  • How to disable security prompts on OS X?

How do I disable securty prompts when installing new programs? Below are some examples of what I mean. Also sometimes it asks for my password. It's very annoying. I want to turn these warnings and password promps off completely.
    Thank you

I have nothing against security but this prompt is an ineffective, basically useless feature. I downloaded the program in question, I clicked on it asking for it to be installed on my computer - this means that I wish for this program to be on my Mac. These prompts are not telling me anything I don't already know, i.e. that the application is from the internet and that I want to open it. Reminds me of Windows Vista with its never ending prompts.
A much more useful feature would be a behind the scenes scan of the download file to see if it has any viruses or malware.
But once you have accepted the install, then the fault no longer lies with Apple, but with you and/or the Third Party developer, making Apple exempt from blame if you stuff up your system with it. Simple business practice for protection. Keep clicking OK all you want, but don't come back here crying if your OSX has been severly compromised. A lot of us take security of our systems quite seriously.

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

  • Possible to disable password prompt when installing aps?

Trying out a Macbook pro to decide if I want to keep it or not. I own an IT company and am a PC user, so this is a new environment for me.
When I install programs, it prompts me for authentication to do so. This is as annoying in this OS as it was in Windows, but at least I know where to disable it in windows. So far, I have been unable to find it in this OS and the security options in preferences has nothing at all for this option.
Thanks for any assistance to the noob.
    John

    Hi John;
When I worked for IBM, I can't remember how many times users would be migrated from Winders boxes to Unix ones because their need for power had increased. Once migrated over to Unix they started to griping about the password prompt of Unix. They would carry on like it was the end of the world. After I told them, my manager told them and my manager told their manager that it was a feature of Unix, they would finally stop griping. I doubt that they were happy but at least they stopped bugging me.
I would usually suggest they move back to Winders but everyone of them felt that the Unix box was far more powerful so they remained with it. They never seemed satisfied enough with the extra power of the Unix workstation to overlook the password prompt. I really find that surprising.

  • Disable Bluetooth running at startup.

How can i disable bluetooth running each time windows starts, as i want it _only sometimes_ - not always. My notebook is A200 23W and i have wi-fi always on.

There is a new Bluetooth stack version available.
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download
It has two new startup options
"Right click Bluetooth systray icon >Options > IT Admin > IT Security settings >Settings...>Limit Bluetooth settings".
Now you can decide if Bluetooth should always be disabled after startup.
"Turn off Bluetooth function on exiting Bluetooth Manager":
    - This means you have to enable it e.g. by using the Bluetooth systray icon if you want to use it after the bootup
"Do not register Bluetooth Manager on startup"
    - This option allows you to do not start Bluetooth at all after startup.
In this case you need to start Bluetooth from the Program folder in oder to use it.

  • Why in QuickTime there is no option to disable launching it at startup?

It's VERY irritating. There should be, i use QuickTime not everyday, so it would be easier for me if i could disable launch at startup directly from QuickTime. I would do it by myself if i could get the source code. Perhaps it would take ten minutes to do it. Thanks.

There is amigo, Open QT control panel click on the Advanced tab and uncheck-Install QuickTime icon in system tray. Also Start>run>type in msconfig>click OK. Click on the Start-up tab and uncheck qttask.

  • Disabling the Prompt depending on another prompt

    Hi Gurus,
We got one interesting requirement where depending on one value selected from one prompt another prompt should be disabled means it should not display anything like in some websites we see by selecting one option another option becomes inactive.
Have anyone comeacross these type of requirement???
    Regards,
    Saleem

    Hi Raghu,
Thank you for your reply...But your solution dint worked for me...I tried what you said but the second prompt was not visible at all in the dashboard...which should not be the case...
I will be more precise in my requirement....I think what i asked before was not precise...
There is only one dashboard prompt containing some four columns in it...say first prompt( first column) contains the list of reports in it...
Now my requirement is if i select some value in the first prompt i.e if i select some report from that dropdown...depending on that some third prompt(3rd column) should become completely inactive i.e once the user selects some value from the first prompt then he should not be able to select anything from the 3rd prompt(3rd column)...because only the 2nd and 4th prompts(columns) are required for that report he selected in the 1st prompt..
We are working on this to reduce the no.of dashboards/pages...
Hope i am clear on my requirement...

  • "scan from pc" prompt on startup

I recently downloaded Mountain Lion to my MBP. Ever since then, every time I boot up my mac I get a prompt asking me which scanner I want to use. (Scan-From-PC prompt box. Options are none, canon mg5220, other) I have tried installing new drivers, software from Canon, deleted all printers on my computer and started over...yet it is still happening.
I am able to scan and print, so the printer is functional and connected to the network, and my Mac.
Is there a way to make a "permanent" choice so I do not have a prompt every time I start my computer? Or even a way to disable the option altogether?
    Thanks.
