Disable movieclip error

Question

Hi all I just done a project here i create a movieclip which contains many thumbnails in it and above this layer i have a phone movieclip which have 2 children movieclip 1st child movieclip contain canvas movieclip which allow user to draw something and 2nd child movieclip is just contains png movieclip in it now I just want to disable 2nd movieclip to enable bottom thumbnails, and here is my code
I made phone object in my document class
phonemc=new phone()
addChild(phonemc)
phonemc.x=(1000/2)+270;
phonemc.y=(628/2)+20
phonemc.mouseEnabled=false
phonemc.mc.mouseChildren=false
phonemc.mc.mouseEnabled=false
and code in my phone class
public function phone(){       
phonegraphicmc.mouseEnabled=false <<< here i disable my phonegraphic movieclip in phone object
phonegraphicmc.mouseChildren=false

if you have an object overlying an object that you want to respond to the mouse, you can't use a mouse handler.  you either have to remove the overlying object or use a hittest.
