Disable predefined characteristics in CCM 2.0

Hi,
We would like to disable one of the predefined characteristics in order than nobody can fill it in the CAT and then publish a catalog with some values in it.
Specifically we want to disable the characteristic /CCM/PRICE_BASIS_QUANTITY (a complex characteristic, composed for 2 simple characteristics /CCM/UNIT_CODE and /CCM/QUANTITY_VALUE).
Does anyone have any idea how to do it?
THANKS!!

Hi Patricia,
You cannot delete the standard predefined characteristics, you could do the following though
if you don't include this characteristic in your content file then it won't get updated.
flag the characteristic as read-only this should stop users being able to make manual changes in the CAT
You could also remove all the display options so that even if it is filled then it won't be displayed to users
Regards
Chris

  • Default settings for characteristics in CCM 2.0

    Hello All,
We have implemented CCM 2.0 at customer with SRM 5.0. To avoid changing the default settings of the characteristics for every catalog they create I would like to change the defaults. I have changed a few characteristics in table /CCM/C_CHAR but these changes don't seem to reflect in CCM. I also don't see the characteristics they created themselves. I have chekced the following tables in addition:
    /CCM/C_CHAR
    /CCM/C_CHAR_ALS
    /CCM/C_CHAR_ASPT
    /CCM/C_CHAR_TXT
    /CCM/C_CHR_ALIAS
    and
    /CCM/C_DTYPE
    /CCM/C_DTYPE_HDR
    /CCM/C_DTYPE_T
    /CCM/C_DTYPE_TXT
    /CCM/C_DTYPE_VL
    /CCM/C_DTYPE_VLT
Can anybody please help me? They already have 30 procurement catalogs and this will soon be much more.
    Thanks,
    Antoinette

    Hello Masa,
Thanks for your reply. I would like to change the values of the characteristics like Sortable. read only, required. list v iew, compare view etc. When a catalog is created it is created with default settings regarding those values which means that for every catalog our customer creates these settings need to be changed and that is a lot of work. What I am trying to achieve is to change the defaults to the requirements of our customer so when a new procurement catalog is created it is created with the correct settings for the characteristics.
We have add the customer characteristics on schema level but these characteristics are not visible in the tables mentioned. And when I change settings in table /CCM/C_CHAR it does not change it in CCM.
Hope you know the solution or maybe otherwise know somebody who can help me!
    Thank you,
    Antoinette

  • CMS in CMC shows "down"/"disabled" but "up" in CCM

    Dear Gurus,
I have this issue coming up every now and then in my production BOE server. CMS shows as 'disabled' in Servers area in CMC but when I check CCM, it shows as up. I'll enable it and it comes back again. After few days or sometimes even after few weeks, CMS shows down/disabled again in CMC while it is up in CCM.
Is this something common or I'm some problem here. Can anybody guide me in this matter.

    Hi,
There are various ways for tracing. This option is mostly useful for optimization or debugging purposes.
    a) Enabling trace through BO_trace.ini
A sample BO_trace.ini file can be found in the following locations after installing a build:
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Logging\logConfig\BO_trace.ini
To turn on tracing using the BO_trace.ini file, the "active" setting within the file must be set to "true" (i.e. active=true). And append -traceinipath <path to valid BO_trace.ini file> to any server command line
    Note:
By default all the log files will be placed in < BO_installer_Dir >\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\logging folder
    Thanks,

  • Mapping problems with custom characteristics in CCM

    Hello,
We are on SRM5.0 CCM2.0 and I have created three custom characteristics with related OCI fields. These characteristics have been uploaded in the catalogs and mapped on schema level in supplier catalog and procurement catalog. When uplaoding items into the supplier catalogs the values of the characteristics drop their value during automatic mapping to the master catalog and procurement catalog which means that the fields are also empy during import into SRM. The fields are NOT empty in the suppleir catalog.
Can anybody help me on this one ?

    Hi Antoinette,
I have experienced the same. I created a custom characterisitic and uploaded it in the schema of the supplier catalog, master and procurement catalogue. However, once uploading the supplier catalogue the information of the custom characteristic was not mapped.
In order to solve it I mapped the full schema from the supplier to the master and from to the master to the procurement. That is to say, I mapped from the begginig the schema not only the categories but also the content. Then it worked
The characteristics are created at the schema level and consequently, unless you map (categories and content) the supplier catalogue from the very top of the schema or the information is not transmitted.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards.

  • Use of Pictures/Images in CCM 2

    Hello,
We use CCM 2.0 (200_700 - HP 11) with SRM 5.0 (SAPKIBKT11) and we want to incorporate pictures/images in our catalogs.
I have done some reading in SDN but still Im a bit confused. Please could anyone answer my questions?
    1. If in my Vendor Catalogs does not exist the complex caracteristic "/CCM/PICTURE" with ID type data "/CCM/ATTACHMENT ", how can I create it in the vendor catalogs - as it should be incorporated as predefined characteristics as I understand it- ?
    2. Where and How should one create a MIME repository?
    3. After having created the MIME repository, how does one fill it with data of pictures.
    4. Where can one visualize what MIME types are already defined in the system? Trx. or menu path!
    5. Do I need to define a OCI field in one of the Characteristics asociated with /CCM/PICTURE for the picture to be visible in the shopping cart while accessing the Catalog? In the standard version there is no OCI field defined in neither of the characteristics  /CCM/DESCRIPTION, /CCM/URL and /CCM/MIME_TYPE.
    6. Example of a CSV 2.0 file with the characteristics /CCM/DESCRIPTION, /CCM/URL and /CCM/MIME_TYPE filled to upload.
Thanks very much for any reply.
    Aart

    Hi Aart,
Firstly - please note that like SAP mesasges it is best to only create one issue per post in order to ensure you will receive responses quicker.
    Regarding #
    1. If in my Vendor Catalogs does not exist the complex caracteristic "/CCM/PICTURE" with ID type data "/CCM/ATTACHMENT ", how can I create it in the vendor catalogs - as it should be incorporated as predefined characteristics as I understand it- ?
As this is a predefined characteristic, you do not need to create this char in the Supplier Catalog, it is sufficient to simply valuate the field in the CSV/XML import.
    2. Where and How should one create a MIME repository?
The Mime repository ideally should be a webserver within your SLD where you can store mimes for use by the catalog, any webserver which can be accessed by URL is sufficient to use. Alternatively you can use the MIME directory of the WAS 640/700 where your CCM is installed, but this is not recommended.
    3. After having created the MIME repository, how does one fill it with data of pictures.
    As it is a webserver, you simply place all the images/docs/pdf's etc you wish to use into the directory, then point to this directory in the upload using the complex characteristic /CCM/PICTURE. e.g. you house some pictures on your webserver located at http://webserver:port/MIMES/Images1.jpg {Please note, this directory can be called whatever you like ;-)}
    4. Where can one visualize what MIME types are already defined in the system? Trx. or menu path!
Not too sure exacflty what you're looking for here?!?!?
Perhaps there is some misunderstanding here - when you are shopping in SRM and access the catalog - you are displaying the data from the CSE (catalog search engine), the 'picture' is never actually sent to SRM and is displayed in the CSE directly so no mapping of any characteristic is required.
    6. Example of a CSV 2.0 file with the characteristics /CCM/DESCRIPTION, /CCM/URL and /CCM/MIME_TYPE filled to upload.
The CSV file is easily created, i.e. in the description above you have the following:
    http://webserver:port/MIMES/Images1.jpg
    So, the /CCM/DESCRIPTION = Images1, /CCM/URL = http://webserver:port/MIMES and /CCM/MIME_TYPE = JPG
    Hope this helps!

    Jason

  • BADI /CCM/CTLG_ENRICHMENT

Hi all, looking for a bit of help regarding BADI /CCM/CTLG_ENRICHMENT.
I have a requirement to take the UNSPSC code from the supplier catalogue and map it to a product category via a look-up in table COMM_CATEGORY.
Basically the look-up will consist of checking whether there is an exact match for the UNSPSC code and if there is putting into the supplier catalogue as the value for characteristic /CCM/PRODUCT_GROUP or is there isn't working the way up the structure i.e. replacing the last two numbers of the UNSPSC code with 00 and so until a match is determined.
My question is which methods can be used for reading the data from the supplier file and updating the values based on the look-up.
Any help or advice greatly received.
    BTW we're on CCM v2.0 SP3

  • How to add pictures in CCM for items in SRM_EXTRAXTED_CATLG

Hi guys (and girls of course),
Best wishes for 2007 for all of you.
I've got following issue I've been struggling with: I'm trying to add a picture to items in CCM, but for items coming from R3 (replicated to SRM). I want to use the standard PICTURE/URL field for this ('complex' data type)
(procedure for uploading R/3-materials is currently already working)
I've been checking out following BADI's:
    <u>/CCM/IF_EX_CTLG_ENRICHMENT~ENRICH_ITEM</u>
I have found an example for implementing this in another thread and this seems to work for 'simple' characteristics, eg /CCM/CONTRACT_ID as mentioned in the example)
    <u>IF_EX_BBP_CCM_CHAR_MAINT~VALUATE_PRODUCT</u>
for additional customer-characteristics this works fine, also for simple standard characteristics (eg /CCM/MPN) this works fine.
But in both cases i seem to be unable to fill the complex characteristic /CCM/PICTURE (subfield /CCM/URL). I tried to use the same syntax as in the CSV-load file (ie /CCM/PICTURE#/CCM/URL) but it's not working as i expect.
When i add this info manually to the field, the picture shows as expected. (But adding this info manually is not an option of course.)
Any thoughts or hints would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi ,
I was not active on SDN for some time hence did not see yr thread.
We had used SRM_EXTRACTED_CATALOG in our earlier project and managed to get pictures for all the items in shopping.
    The path we took:
with the report BBP_CCM_TRANSFER_CATALOG get the SRM_EXTRACTED_CATALOG in CAT
map the relevant categories in SRM_EXTARCTED_CATALOG to /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG.
import all the picture JPEG files for all the items in the MIME of server
SE80->MIME repository -> drill down to BSP/SAP/BC/CCM (sorry i don't remember the exact path and I don' t have the system now) -> create yr own folder-> import all the JPEG files to this folder.
now derive a URL for each item in a format: http:
    server name.domain name\services (sap\bc\bsp\cat\yr folder name\file name)
    validate this URL in IE
it should derive the picture from the MIME of yr server and show you on screen
now go to mastrer catalog ->open the chara "image" for each item -> paste this url and type (JPEG) -> and save the item
this should give picture of each item when you are shopping in EBP as preview and in detail also
it's somewhat cubersome to paster those URLs but it's one time activity.

  • Custom Charaterisitics in CCM  now visible in Catalog

    Hello All,
We are using CCM 2.0 , i have created a Custom Characterisitis  in my Catalog  , i am able to populate value to that field and sucessfully publish the Catalog as well.
But when i view the Catalog from SRM(CLick on Catalog in Shop)  , the custom Charateristics in not visible .
Are you able to help me on this please.
    Cheers,
    Sid

    Hi Sid,
The 'Error when saving characteristic' message is normally cleared up by implementing note 1024002.
For creating custom characteristics in CCM in CSV format for upload I would suggest looking at the help documentation available which details how these are to be created.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ccm20/helpdata/en/index.htm
The information is also available in the SRM 260 course however I suggest following the guidelines in the help documentation first.

  • Catalogue ID must be specified in CSV 2.0 Upload

    Hi All,
If I upload a schema without the Catalogue ID specified I get the following error message
An error was detected in the CSV file (version 2.0).
This error is in row 8 with the following content:
    Catalog;;;;
The SAP Help states that "Catalog ID
Leave blank. SAP Catalog Content Management (SAP CCM) ignores the catalog ID."
however this does not appear to be the case, has anyone else experienced this problem or can you upload CSV schema's without the catalogue ID present?

    Hi Yann,
    The part

    Catalog;;;;
    is the Catalog definition line.
    According to the SAp help
    "Catalog Definition Line
You can use the catalog definition line to change the short descriptions for the catalog. The following table shows which information you enter in the catalog definition line:
    1 Keyword Catalog
    2 Catalog ID
Leave blank. SAP Catalog Content Management (SAP CCM) ignores the catalog ID.
3 Code for the catalog type
Leave blank. SAP CCM ignores the catalog type.
    >3 Each column can contain one of the following:
    Short description for the catalog
IDs of characteristics on catalog level
You can list the short descriptions and characteristics in any order.
You can use characteristics on catalog level to provide values for all items in the catalog.
You do not need to include predefined characteristics in the list of catalog characteristics.
However I am finding that unless I specify the catalogue ID in the Catalog definition line then my schema will not upload.
