Disabled Cookies on Browser, BUT How do you tell?

I know that you can't save a permanent cookie to the user's computer when cookies
are disabled in a browser. You can set a temporary cookie that will last for the
session. An example is Weglobic's JSESSIONID cookie.
First. I was hoping that when I tried to set a permanent cookie, that at least the
cookie would last for the session so that it gets sent back to Weblogic like JSESSIONID.
That doesn't seem to be the case. Doh! Any comments?
Second. Is there a way I can tell if a browser has disabled cookies so that I can
set my cookie as a temporary cookie instead of a permanent cookie so that it gets
passed back to Weblogic in subsequent request? I looked at the header information
          and I didnt' see anything.
BTW. I'm developing on Windows 2000 and deploy to Unix. Using iPlanet 4.1 as the
          WebServer and Weblogic 6.1 SP2.
          Thanks!!! Later...

          Thanks for the Info guys!.
I got a work around. I have client side JavaScript that checks to see if Permanent
Cookies are disabled. I then pass the flag to the destination URL. If cookies are
disabled, then I just set it to a temporary cookie and it's find.
Got some tips from groups.googles.com. This side use to be the Deja Newsgroups.

  • Fair Usage - but how do you tell??

Yesterday morning I had an automated email from BT saying that I was up to 80GB d/l for May, and that my speed would be throttled if I went over 100GB. I'm on Option 3, and this is the fair usage policy kicking in. This morning I had another email saying that I was over 100GB! So, I spent 1 hour on the phone today trying to find someone in BT who could tell me how the 20GB was racked up in a day. No chance! Nobody seems to have a record other than some sort of cumulative ticker. Yes I can download a broadband monitor (which I actually did after the first email), but if it's at odds with what BT says where are you then if they don't have detailed records? Records on the router are pretty useless although show since rebooted on Monday:
    Connection time
    3 days, 04:48:24
    Data Transmitted/Received (MB)
    915.9 / 1986.5
So, about 2 GB, NOT 20. I'd challenge anyone on an 8 meg line to actually get enough speed to actualy d/l 20GB in a day!! And no, no one's broken in to my wifi connection.
I'm really annoyed with BT now and wished I hadn't swapped from Nildram, who had records online right down to your last session.
    What now?

    Hi.
This is the massive problem that BT fails continually to answer. The initial email only says that you have exceeded 80GB, it could actually be 99.5GB if the user had got say 20GB a previous day. This omission is appalling in my view and needs correcting immediately, as users are not given accurate figures. As can be seen by all the folk posting on this topic, the belief is that the user has possibly just surpassed 80GB.
They have said that there are no daily figures, I challenge this to be completely incorrect and false, otherwise people would not have received emails on 2 consecutive days as the OP above.
To the moderators, I ask again - please can you tell us how the data is added up on a per user basis. When is the system polled (it is *clearly* daily at least, otherwise you need to explain how these emails could have been sent).
I've also said before that I believe an email should be sent when 50GB are reached, this should be very easy to implement.
Just for info, a continuous download of 400KB/s (e.g. on a line in excess of 4Mbps) - will result in 20GB in about 14.5 hours.

  • Movie length - How can you tell???

    Hi All,
This is a really dumb question but how can you tell how long your movie is. I've dragged some clips down to the project library window but can't for the life of me work out how to tell how many hours/minutes it is. i can tell how long each clip is but figured getting a calculator out and adding them all up didn't seem the Apple way of doing things. iMovie HD 6 was way easier to use (at least it had a simple timeline you could scroll across and see where you were and at what time. I don't need scrubbing that badly).

problem solved, it didn't exactly jump out at me at first but I found the spot. Sheesh this new imovie is totally different from the previous versions.

  • No longer use this email account but how do you backup the email that is...

No longer use this email account but how do you backup the email that is in the "example" folder, So that I can delete the account on my mail app?

Not sure what you mean. Deleting a POP account only deletes the messages stored in the account’s mailboxes, not any messages stored in custom “On My Mac” mailboxes, if that’s what you mean. It’s not that Mail goes after your mail trying to delete as much as it can. It’s just that if a mail account is deleted, then its mailboxes cannot exist anymore...
That said, instead of deleting the account right away, you can just disable it (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), leave it that way for some time, and delete it only after making sure you didn’t miss anything while the account was disabled.
BTW, if you back up your data, and the ~/Library/Mail folder in particular, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing anything as a result of doing something like that...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • You have created a link to another part of your book but how do you get the reader back to the original page?

Using iBooks Author to make a book you have created a link to another part of your book but how do you get the reader back to the original page?

Asking me to be verbore is a dangerous thing  :-)
When you eneter information into iTunes Producer for uploading, the info must match what is in the internal metadata. In this case, the book is called Mississippi, but in  iTunes Producer it is spelled Misssissippi. There is an extra "s". This will cause an error.

  • If you right-click an image you can select to "Block Images" from the site, but how do you reverse this choice?

If you right-click an image on a web page you can select to
"Block Images from [the url of the site]".
This works well, particularly to make the page printer-friendly, but how do you reverse this choice to see the images again?

You can see all permissions for the current page in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
If it is from a different domain then use this:
*A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.
*A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.
*Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • I have downloaded video to iPhotos but how do you get the video to iMovies

I have downloaded video to iPhotos but how do you get the video to iMovies

In iMovie look in the Event Library. You should see an Event named "iPhoto Videos" (assuming the videos are compatible with iMovie).
Each time you open iMovie it will look for any new videos in iPhoto and place thumbnails in the iPhoto Videos Event. You will be given a choice as to whether you want the thumbnails generated now or later. The thumbnails will appear in chronological (date) order in the Event window. Note that the clips themselves are not actually imported to iMovie - they are simply referenced by iMovie (that is, iMovie points to the clips in iPhoto).
Drag clips (or parts of clips) to a project. To start a new project, select File > New Project from iMovie's menu.
Please ask if you need more advice. Otherwise, click on Help > iMovie Help in the menu. There you will find plenty of good information about how to use iMovie, including short video tutorials.

Thanks John. I have tried solutions 1 to 3 from (-http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.h tml) and they do not work. So I presume that all I can do is to remove all 25 CC applications and start again!
Incidently, ( http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ ) does not list Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 as an update even though Adobe have announced that it is available (http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/04/camera-raw-8-4-and-dng-converter-8-4-now-a vailable.html). The same applies for Adobe Premiere Pro 7.2.2 (http://blogs.adobe.com/premierepro/2014/04/premiere-pro-cc-7-2-2.html). If they are not available this would explain why I cannot download them but I am very suprised that Adobe didn't mention this when I contacted them.
    Anyway thanks again
