Disconnected when creating a materialize view

when i try to create a materialize view from a "big" select (a select from several other selects), it doesn't create the view and i get disconnected from the database.

Possible bug when creating multiple detail view objects

using jdev 11.1.1.0.0 to build jsf/adf applications. I wanted to report what seems like a bug in 11g. I have a parent table which has two child tables. After creating the appropriate entities, associations, views, and view links, the app module looks like this:
MasterView
--DetailView1
--DetailView2
The two detail view objects are on the same level, they are both direct children of the Master view.
Here's what's happening:
1) I create the master entity/view objects (MasterView)
2) I create one of the detail entity/view objects (DetailView1).
3) I create the association and view link to establish relationship between MasterView and DetailView1. Everything works fine.
4) I create the entity/view objects for second detail view (DetailView2)
5) When I attempt to create a second view link (based off an association) to establish the relationship between MasterView and DetailView2, the query clauses of the Create View Link wizard (screens 4 and 5) do not get created properly. I finish the wizard and save. Not only does this view link not get created properly, but in the process the query clauses that were defined in the first view link between MasterView and DetailView1 are wiped out. This will break any coordination between master and detail views in both the app module tester and runtime. Has anyone seen this problem?

Can't update master table when creating a materialized view log.

Hi all,
I am facing a very strange issue when trying to update a table on which I have created a materialized view log (to enable downstream fast refresh of MV's). The database I am working on is 10.2.0.4. Here is my issue:
1. I can successfully update (via merge) a dimension table, call it TABLEA, with 100k updates. However when I create a materialized view log on TABLEA the merge statement hangs (I killed the query after leaving it to run for 8 hrs!). TABLEA has 11m records and has a number of indexes (bitmaps and btree) and constraints on it.
2. I then create a copy of TABLEA, call it TABLEB and re-created all the indexes and constraints that exist on TABLEA. I created a materialzied view log on TABLEB and ran the same update....the merge completed in under 5min!
The only difference between TABLEA and TABLEB is that the dimension TABLEA is referenced by a number of FACT tables (by FKs on the FACTS) however this surely should not cause a problem. I don't understand why the merge on TABLEA is not completing...even though it works fine on its copy TABLEB? I have tried rebuilding the indexes on TABLEA but this did not work.
Any help or ideas on this would be most appreciated.

Thats what I thought, the MVL will only read data that has changed since it was created and wont have the option to load in all the data as though it was made before the table was created.
From what I have read, the MVL is quicker than a Trigger and I have some free code that prooved to work from a MVL using it as a reference to know what records to update. There is not that much to a MVL, a record ID and type of update, New, Update or Delete.
I think what I will have to do is work on a the same principle for the MVL but use a Trigger as this way we can do a full reload if required at any point.

Issue When Creating a Database View

       I am trying two join two tables using a database view through SE11 and this tables are related to SAP HR.
      As per the requirement we need to create a table join using SQVI in which we are facing a issue where the transaction is freezed as as we create a

      So..
      Is their any alternative method to join two tables in HR ABAP apart from SQVI.
      When I try to create a DATBASE VIEW in SE11 it says no relation exists even there is one primary key in both the tables.
      Can we do this using SE11 or is there any other way two join these tables or infotypes..for ex how we join p0008 and p0002
      I am new to this pls help me.(Sry for posting ths in ABAP DEV)..

there is a difference between database tables and structures. Structures do no exist in the database, they are just a grouping of fields in ABAP dictionary. P0002 ans P0008 are structures that do not contain any data by definition.
You can create SQVI quick view or database view using database tables PA0002 and PA0008.
Check if all join conditions can be used in your case, you may change or delete join conditions using right-mouse-click.

Insufficient priv error when creating a materialised view using DB link!!!!

I have a two databases db1 and db2.
I have created a database link from db2 to access user1 schema in db1.
When i try to create a materialised view by accessing user1 table using user 'user2' in db2 database, i get error "ORA-1031: Insufficient Privilege".
The user2 has the priviliges "create view", "create any view", "create materialised view" etc.
I am able to select data, of the table using the database link, but creating materialised view gives this error.
I want to know if the user "user1" should be granting any privilige to user2, if so how is it possible as user2 dosent exist in db1!
i.e should i give command something like "grant select on user1.table to user2@db2"(this dosent work as it says user2@db2 dosent exist, obviously as its taking user2@db2 as a username in db1 schema)
or is this a problem with user2 priviliges in db2 database, if so what are all the priviliges that have to be given to user2 in db2 schema.

Hi,
User from db1 can not assign any privs to user on db2 database. If user from db1 want to access any object from db2 database, then on local level user2 on db2 should have all the acess to required object. Then you can use user2 on db2 using dblink from db1 user to access those objects residing on remote database.
If user1 from db1 can grant privs to user2 on db2 database on any objects on db2 database then it is highly security issue. This is not permitted.

Error Message when creating a planning view in EXCEL

Hi everyone,
after activating the planning Area I succesfully uploaded a sample of time series, master data and key figure. I get the following error when I try to create a new planning view with my set of data in EXCEL.
I am still waiting from the answer of our administrator. But since it takes some times it would be great if someone could help me to understand the meaning of my error ID.
More generaly is there a databank/interface where i could type in this error ID on my own and get an explanation?

Do you know as from what release this "application debugging" permission is available? We are using the S&OP 3.0 SP1 Patch 1 and this feature is not available. (see Picture). Also I could not access any of the links should the expression <server> in the urls be replaced by the adress of our server?

Problems when creating an extraction view

Hello,
We have to create a transaction data datasource based on a transparent table ZTABLE. Unfortunatly, the error message R8359 occured :
"You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure ZTABLE. This operation failed, because the template structure quantity fields or currency fields, for example, field ZFIELD refer to a different table"
As it has already been discussed in this forum, we created a view ZVIEW based on ZTABLE and the two others required tables.
But, eventually, we didn't get the same number of records entries with ZTABLE and ZVIEW. (probably a probleme with select left joint).
As I 'm trying to create the datasource on a E-proc environement (BBPCRM 3.0), I have only two options for extraction (RSO2) :
From database view (failed)
From SAP query , I need advices on how using this functionality :
Is it possible to define "left joins select" using sq02 ?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

How to create Materialize view using Sysdate

I need to create a materialize view having SYSDATE in its WHERE clause. Can i any let me know how can i do it. I know there is some documentation on that in ORACLE but i could not find it .

          I have installed Weblogic platform 8.1 beta, and try to use the MQSeries Adapter
          which provide by Bea weblogic, and it's seems I must deploy the .ear file which
          is an application include the MQ Adapter, on a domain which provide the Integration
          function, the ear file I was download from bea site. So I deploy it in the samples/domain/platform
          domain as the docs told me. And after that I create a new directory called session
          and a subdirectory contain a manifest.xml file, I do this also due to the docs

ORA-01031 when creating a view

Hi guys,
I transported a view(custom view ZVIEW) from Development to Production and found that the view was missing the database of the production system.
When i tried to create the same view usin SE14 am getting a warning
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
DDL time(___1): .......119 milliseconds
The SQL statement was not executed
Statements for View ZVIEW_STD_TIME could not be executed
Request for ZVIEW_STD_TIME could not be executed
in the system the SAPR3 and OPS$PRDADM has sysdba privilege so i guess SYSCONN need not be implemented.
Please help.

Smart View internal metadata error when creating SmartView reports

Hi all,
I have a really strange problem when trying to use HsGetValue -functions in Smart View (in Excel 2010).
The thing is that I can create a lot of formulas for a sheet that have links to other sheets. However, in some pont (I don't exactly when it happens), I quite randomly get an error in Excel saying "This workbook contains Smart View internal metadata that needs to be repaired. This will automatically be repaired but may take some time". This error box appears a few times, I just click it and then it disappears. Obviously, this is annoying and the Excel is unusable.
Usually it happens when I try to format the sheet or add, e.g., company logo into the sheet, or try to do a bit more difficult linking of the cells.
Any ideas what is going on here? Smart View version is 11.1.2.1.103 (Build 100).

Symptoms
The following message is displayed when opening the Smart View files:
This workbook contains Smart View internal metadata that needs to be repaired. This will automatically be repaired but may take some time.
It may take a long time to open or save the Smart View templates.
Changes
Smart View has been installed by a user different, than the one that is currently logged on the workstation, i.e. service account or installation account.
Cause
When the user accesses Smart View for the first time, on a workstation where the SmartView has been installed by another user, the following registry key will be missing in the user's profile:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions\HyperionSmartView\Preferences]
"UseStorageCompression"=hex:01
"SelectedOptionTab"=hex:02
If SmartView is installed by a different user i.e. service account or installation account, then the user profile registry will be missing "UseStorageCompression" and "SelectedOptionTab", resulting in a incorrect saving of file metadata.
Solution
Follow the steps below to automatically create the required registry keys for the current user profile:
1.Open Excel and select Smart View menu.
2.Click the "Options" icon to open the Options window.
3.In the "Advanced" tab, under the "Compatibility" section make sure the "Reduce Excel File Size" option is selected and click OK.
4.The following Windows Registry keys will be created under user profile, enabling proper compression of the metadata:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions\HyperionSmartView\Preferences]
"UseStorageCompression"=hex:01
"SelectedOptionTab"=hex:025.Now the user should be able to open the smartview template without the error message.

when I included ViewUsages dynamically in an action handler (outside wdDoInit()).
The code below fixed that problem.
This code creates a new OutboundPlug for the embedding view with the embedded view as target and fires the plug.

Interesting - Different views when creating substitute rule in UWL and normal view

Hi Guys,
Just came across something interesting i thought i should mentioned it here incase someone knows why. When creating the substitute rule on the MSS main page one gets the window without a small road map, however if you do that via the UWL menu you get a nice view with a road map.
From the main page when you click on the create rule button you get this

From the UWL side menu you get this, but the button being clicked is teh same. Anyone know how this works and how to make it the same ?

I have tried to identify the application that is used to display the road map but i cant find it, it looks like its not WEBDYNPRO ABAP. In UWL view When I right click on th button i do not get the technical help to see the application which is what i normally do and it works on the launch pad/MSS lane

Lab View crashing when creating new bound variable

Hi,
I have to connect to an OPC server from Lab view and have played around a bit with the OPC client options.
I would like to use shared variables as that seems like a handy way to access the needed variables. I have followed the instructions in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7450 .
However when i use the create bound variables feature LabView crashes when i browse for OPC tags, step3 under "Create Shared Variables that Connect to the OPC Tags through the I/O Server". If i try to expand the node "OPC1" LabView crashes. I try to access the built in NI OPC server locally.
Also during this process LabView gives warning box saying "Configure OPC server to run with an identity of interactive user". we did try the the steps in http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371618G-01/lvdschelp/config_local_opc_serv/ . However the The interactive user button was disabled under NI OPC sever properties.
Is there something i have missed? Something that needs to be configured before going through that tutorial?
I run LabView 2011 on a 64 bit Win7P computer. The DSC module and the NI OPC Servers are installed and seem to work (when running the OPC examples ).

Thanks for the post, I have a few questions for you about this issue.
What versions of NI OPC Servers are you using?
Is the server hosted on your local machine or on a remote machine?
Are you able to successfully connect NI OPC Servers and NI OPC Quick Client?
Have you been successful in using OPC IO Servers in the past or has this issue occurred since you have started your application?
Can you consistently reproduce this crash?
You can try to work around this issue by using Network Items rather than Project Items when creating bound variables in the Create Bound Variables window. Please try this option and let me know if you have any additional information about your application that may be helpful in solving this issue. In addition, I have also included a link to a similar post. Hope this helps!
