  • LINK DUPLEX MISMATCH error

    Hi all,
i am using cisco LMS 3.2 as when we run the Discripencies Report we get the
    Error of LINK DUPLEX MISMATCH....
    Kindly guide for the same....
This link has ports with mismatching duplex.
Port GigabitEthernet0/23 on device MKT_1 with mode auto-duplex
Device type and OS version of MKT_1:
Cisco IOS Software, C3560E Software (C3560E-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(53)SE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
    Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport
Port GigabitEthernet0/1 on device MKT_3 with mode full-duplex This link has ports with mismatching duplex.
Port GigabitEthernet0/23 on device MKT with mode auto-duplex
Device type and OS version of MKT_1:
Cisco IOS Software, C3560E Software (C3560E-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.2(53)SE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
    Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport
Port GigabitEthernet0/1 on device MKT_3 with mode full-duplex
But when i check the configuration of both switches it shows as FULL DUPLEX for the above....
Kindly guide how to resolve the above error....

This is a known issue with ports set to auto-duplex.  Since the switches do not reflect the current operational duplex, LMS does not know if the port negotiated to full or half.  In that case, it presents the warning so you can investigate.  Once you've confirmed the duplex is correct, you can acknowledge the discrepancy.
If you upgrade your switches to 12.2(55)SE, then the switch will report the operational duplex, and this discrepancy will go away on its own.  The bug that fixed this was CSCtc12593

  • Duplex mismatch between N7k and 5508

    Hi All,
I met a duplex mismatch issue in our new DC.
The port configuration on the N7k and controller is the same as in other DC
Only difference is version of the NxOS on the N7k.
    On N7k 5.2(1) works
    On N7k 5.2(7) i get below logs :

the messages are annoying as loggs are almost full of them.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Matthew,
The issue is related to bug -> "CDP duplex mismatch when using LAG on 5508 & 8510 WLC” (CSCuc94082)
The fastest way to solve (workaround) this is disable cdp on the controller by executing following command:  config cdp advertise-v2 disable
    Hope this helped you
    Regards,
    Radek

    Thanks for your suggstion

    Hi Grant,
Thanks for your sugggestions. But however  we Have 6 Controllers, all are having the same setup as this one.
Only difference i seen for this switch is for the th port 1/11 it is showling 2 CDP info,  one for management interface of WLC and other for Logical interface of WLC, which seems not correct.
Ths CDP info connecting to Logical interface is showing half duplex and cdp info connecting to Physical interface of wlc is showing full duplex.

  • WLC 5508 duplex mismatch error

Hi I've got a WLC 5508 connected to a Catalyst 6000 switch. In the switch I've get a CDP duplex mismatch error every 30 min.
%CDP-4-DUPLEXMISMATCH:Full/half duplex mismatch detected on port 3/23
with the show port command I can see this:

With the show CDP neigh I see a duplex mismatch

  • Duplex Mismatch when connecting ip phone with 2950 switch

When I connect my Cisco IP Phone 7960 with 2950 Switch (any access port within voice vlan), I get the message on Port duplex mismatch but the phone works properly.
From my switch the speed setting is 100/Full but from the Phone its Auto.
My Question is when I try to change duplex settings from Phone, it doesn't gives me any option instead only one option available to save so kindly someone tell me the best way to fix this from Phone or do I have to change the duplex from switch to AUTO ?

Thanks but When I connect with my Cisco 2950 Switch, I can see the weird kind of language as per my attachment.
It wasn't yesterday when I first configured from scratch but just seen today.
Switch is working good with Cisco IP phone connected with it.

  • Duplex mismatch on phone

    Hi
Can someone explain the following to me please. All our ip phones are deployed with their settings pc/sw config as auto/auto. Desktops are all on 100fullmb as are the 3750 switch ports they connect to. Mostly all is fine but sometimes I get duplex mismatches on syslog server. When I change phone settings to 100full it resolves. How come this happens on some and not others.
Also what is best practice as we are deploying in other offices now; I would have though everything set to 100full.
    Thanks ,
    Frank

If you manually set a port to 100/full then plug in a device set to auto/auto that device will default to 100/half. If you set one device manually you have to set whatever it connects to manually as well. Best practice is to set everything to auto negotiate and that will result in 100/full. In your case you have all devices with a duplex mismatch and you should be having lots of performance and voice quallity issues.
Take a look at this link for details on how ethernet port speed and duplex negotiation works.

  • XP vs W7 communications coping with duplex mismatch?!?

Whilst deploying a Windows 7 SP1 Pro Standard Operating Environment to one of our 60+ sites we were having some massive comms issues.  The site is on a relatively slow (max 2Mbps link), but the difference in consistency between the former XP and
    'new' W7 machines is striking
e.g. SOME W7 log in taking 40+mins (compared to XP based machine approx 2mins), RDP sessions from XP based machine fine compared to unusable from W7 machine, Lost SSL sessions on W7 machines compared to 'normal' functionality on XP machines, etc.
So, the fundamental issue appears to have been a duplex mismatch between the router (3rd party managed) and the sites 'core' switch.
However, we are struggling to understand why the W7 machines were so much more susceptible to issues compared to the XP machines... I understand that the TCP/IP stack was fundamentally rewritten between XP and Vista/W7, but can anyone point to anything that
would explain why the W7 machines exposed the issue so much more acutely?
I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggested areas of investigation?
    Thanks
    David

    Hi,
Based on my experience, you may check the netmon traces or monitor the performan which is in the task manager.
Download Microsoft Network Monitor Tool from the following link and install it on the two machines.

  • Error message "auto duplexer is not installed" after a paper jam was removed on my epson artisan 837.

I print from a Macbook Pro (April '09) OSX 10.9.3 to an Epson Artisan 837 duplex all-in-one which has been functioning perfectly for some time. The other day while duplex printing I got a vague error message to the effect "printer error, turn off machine and power back on." I repeated that process several times waiting a period of time and/or doing it speedily. I even unplugged the printer from its outlet, turned off the computer, waited overnight and tried again, all to no avail. I then found the back tray had a paper jam which I removed and replaced the tray.  Since this ordeal I have NOT been able to use the duplex function. After apple's air-print, an Epson Customer Service person told me to add a printer in Systems, printer preferences and to simply add in the same printer (only one i have) but choose not to have it be air-print. This worked even though it gave me Epson Artisan 837 and Epson Artisan 837II (the first with air-print the second not). I must be missing some step this time, however, because although I now have essentially 2 printer choices, the Epson II has duplex printing choices grayed out and gives me the error message "auto duplexer is not installed." Sorry to make this so long, but can anyone help me with this problem?

Thank you. Those are beautifully written procedures.
Looks like it's a network issue. I reach the step, "Adding a printer using the wizard":
You must enter the following URL, you must use the Queue Name you noted down earlier
    http://<IP address of Mac>:631/printers/Queue Name
    which I do, entering
    http://192.168.0.4:631/printers/MP830
and I get the following error:
"Could not connect to the printer. You either entered a printer name that was incorrect or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server."
    And then I am toast!
Using the other procedure, I simply don't see the Mac's printers in the Bonjour Wizard's "Browse for Bonjour Printers" window.
Not sure where to go from here -- any ideas?
The Mac's IP (set via DHCP) is 192.168.0.4, subnet mask 255.255.255.0. The PC is 192.168.0.5, I can't find the subnet mask.
Pretty sure it's a network config issue, especially isnce I can Bonjour to my other Mac.
    TIA...

what is it for ? when and what kind of messages it contain ?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Vipin

    Hi Vipin,
Adding to the points mentioned above.
This is for the system messeges, you receive from the middleware.
Purpose is to update the users with the latest information about the upgrades, timelines, system down times etc...
For ex: A system administrator can set the messeges( based on the users also )
to the users about the upgrades of the system and can ask not use the application until next updated messege comes about the upgration of the system(this is only one example)
Simply we can say that this messeges is used to inform the users about some information(critical).
    Hope this is helpful.
    Cheers,
    Karthick

  • Help, the "New message" link is missing!

We’ve received feedback from some forum members that they are sometimes unable to start a new thread.
They can access the boards, read posts and indeed reply to existing posts, but aren’t actually able to submit a new message.
This is due to how some posters access the boards.
When you click on a category from the forum main page, e.g the Broadband category, you get the option to select which board you want to go into. In this case, the options are:
    ADSL/Copper Broadband Speed/Connection Issues
    BT Infinity Speed/Connection Issues
    Other Broadband Queries
If you select one of these boards, you will be able to see the “New Message” link (along with the posts within that board) and start a new thread.
If however you click on “View All”, at the bottom of the “Recent Topics” section, you’ll see a list of all of the posts in these boards, but you won’t be able to start a new message. This goes for all the other boards on the forum as well.
The screenshot below shows where these links are displayed, and where you need to go:

I need to add "Send message" link to table of connections taskflow (tableOfConnections-ListView.jsff).
Please suggest how can I access ProfileActions.addmessage action in tableOfConnections-ListView.jsff in order to add this link.

I tried a lot things and even consulted an oracle consultant but could not get this working. The message service was always sending the message to same user(first user you sent a message).
