Discrete job completion date on Sunday

Hi All,
I wanted to know how the discrete jobs completion date can be on Sunday when the manufacturing calendar days showing the Sunday as non-working days.
When calculating the completion date for those discrete jobs, it actually considering the item/part lead times.
As for example, an item # ABC has processing lead time as 2 days and the discrete job start time is on 29-JAN-2015 18:34:00 and has the completion date as 01-FEB-2015 19:35:00 (Sunday).
let me know if there any issue with any setup or profile options.

We also had the same issue, the Workorder completion date and start date were including Non-working days.

The above metalink note might help you. All the resource on the assembly must be "Available 24 hrs" and make sure you have not inculded Saturdays and Sundays as a working day in you Manufacturing calendar (Assigned at org parameter).

Problem in Background Job. Job Completed Successfully but data not Posted

Hi All,
There is a problem in Background Job in Production server (600).
The job completed successfully but data not posted.
The same Job was working perfectly till the starting of the May month.
but now it is not working and rebate has not been posted.
Where to check and what to check
Pls suggest.

Hi ,
Please first check the status of the Job , ifs successfully completed then debug it (tcode JDBG) and
check out, whether the values passed (might be using Import-export ,set-get parameter Ids) to the Job are getting passed properly or not. These values might not be getting passed properly.
If it has some error in Job Log then let me know the error.

Discrete job History tab shows wrong completed qunatity

Hi All
We are facing an issue, When we perform the WIP completion trx thru mobile apps the completed quantity in discrete job history is not in sink with the transaction.Can any one comment on this issue.

Performed the WIP completion trx for qnty 135 and then for qnty 121 thru mobile apps

First off if the job belongs to a open INV period, unclose the job (WIPUser>>Discrete>>Close Discrete Jobs>>Close Discrete Jobs (Form)>>Tools>>Unclose).
Then check if there are any pending WIP completions from back end using

Discrete job is finishing with status 'Complete-No Charges'

Hi,
Some of our discrete jobs are getting completed with no charges. I wanted to know the name of API/Package which is changing/updating the status of job as 'Completed-No Charges'.

Hi Jaspreet,
Normally once all the activities on the job were done, then the job status will get changed to complete. As per my knowledge, there is no API for changing the job status to "Complete-No changes". If you want this to be analyzed, please generate the FND logs by setting the following profile options and then try to re-produce the issue . Once the log is generated, then we can analyze the log.
1.Enable the INV and WIP profiles for debugging.
FND: Debug Log Filename = (Make sure this is null)
FND: Debug Log Enabled = Yes
FND: Debug Log Level = Statement
FND: Debug Log Module = WIP%
2. run the below query and take a note of the output
select max(log_sequence) from fnd_log_messages;
3. Finish the job
4. Once completed run the following sql script:
select message_text from fnd_log_messages where log_sequence> '&Log_seq received from step 2';
5. Upload the the SQL output (which you got from setp4) generated from the above sql script

Customizing Discrete Job Data Report

I need to customize "Discrete Job Data Report" in Apps 12.1.1 from rdf to xml format , can any one provide me eTRM for Manufacturing track and User Manual , So I can understand the Database tables to customize the report........
Actually I want to add waste column in roport , from which table and column I have to add...

Hi Awan,
You can find the eTRMs here though usually a query executed in the database and the review of the data obtained will give you a better idea than the TRM.
You can find the documentation for R12.1.1 here. You can find the Oracle Work in Process User's Guide there.
Not sure about how to get the waste column but I think the best way of finding it is opening the report, executing the main query inside and checking the tables involved in the query.

You will have to undo completion, then undo every operation step (including resource transactions), modify the resource requirements to 0, add new operations and resource requirements and take the job thru' completion.

Production relief : Discrete job (over completion) not consume MPS Schedule

The case :
I have already create MPS schedule. detail schedule is :
item A
1 Nov : 100 pcs
2 Nov : 100 pcs
3 Nov : 100 pcs
And i have discrete job for 1 nov is 20 pcs. Job status is release.
Then i check my schedule MPS is :
item A
1 Nov : 80 pcs >>> already consume 20 pcs
2 Nov : 100 pcs
3 Nov : 100 pcs
in the same day user have completed and close that job for 30 pcs. (its mean overcompletion 10 pcs)
Then i check my MPS is :
item A
1 Nov : 80 pcs >>> Why 10 pcs for over completion not consume my schedule???
2 Nov : 100 pcs
3 Nov : 100 pcs
Anyone explain this?

How to do move transaction if the discrete Job is already closed during per

Hi all
My client is facing the issue.
The Discrete jobs are closed even teh job are completed,still move transactions are balance.
We are not seeing any data in pendingtransaction since all are cleared during period end closing
Could you suggest how to overcomr this issue

Pl clarify in more details -
The Discrete jobs are closed even teh job are completed,still move transactions are balance. - when u say the jobs are completed how then the move transactions are pending.? ..........................if its physical and not logical , then please open the jobs increase the qty and complete the pending move transactions. If you have closed the jobs and the period is still not closed , then you can proceed opening the jobs to complete the unfinished transactions.
Pl revert so that we can proceed further with the solution.

Right now users are manually updating the status to Complete(irrespective of quantity complete of not). They want this process to be automated for the jobs after three days from scheduled start date, since they have so many in a day. For automation is there any available functionality or If write a custom program to update the status what other tables do i have to update other than wip_discrete_jobs?

Simulate discrete job

Just wanted to know if we can simulate a discrete job drilling down to last level purchased items and list the shortage qty.

The simulate discrete job is used for the unreleased jobs -- you need not create a job, you can just see the numbers and close it, job gets created only when you save the simulation.
Here we give the assembly and then do we sum up certain quantities of that particular assembly and put that value in the quantity column --quantity here represents the job qty
In the start date do we need to have the date as the day that we do the simulation -- you need to mentioned either start or completion dates so that system will show you the operations and materails scheduled dates
Do we need to give the alternate bill and routing. --no, if you dont give then system will take the primary bill and routing
The question is how do we know that for manufacturing this much quantity of this much assembly, these are the raw materials and these are the resources --simulation is all about seeing what is required to make say 100 qty of assembly A. Requirements are seen if you click on the buttons componetns , operations present at the bottom

Dbms_datapump - How to ennusre pl/sql only completes when job completes -

Calling dbms_datapump via pl/sql - when look at outpurt directory where log and export file are created it seems to take a while but pl/sql comes back saying complete far earlier.
Uisng 11.2.0.3
Want pl/sql to show complete only when actually complete.
Seems tobe running in background.

How do I ensure the pl/sql job only completes when the dbms_daatpump job completes i.e. runs in the foreground.
Tried adding dbms_datapump.wait_for_job(h1,v_jobState);
but get message job is not attached to this session when add this.
Removed dbms_datapump.detach and now wokrs O.K - seems that dbms_datapump.detach + wait for job are mutually exclusive?

If you want your block to WAIT till datapump finishes, why are you detaching? detach means you are no longer interested once the job has started. Remove the detach and keep the wait_for_job as you have found out.

Process chain node is in yellow colour but job completed successfully

Hi All,
I have one master data load process chain. This process chain have one child process chain also. Parent process chain was showing Fail for one child process chain. When I checked child process chain I got to know that one info package is still in the running state. When I checked the monitor of the data load , It is showing successful data load , even i have checked in batch job log , it is also showing ' JOB COMPLETED SUCCESSFULY'.
Now as this node is in ruuning state , all lined up process are on hold.
Please help me with this issue.

hi,
open the child process chain, right click on the variant at which it is struck. note down the details such as log instance,variant.
open table rspcprocesslog in SE12 ,give the details of variant and job logs and find the instance id.
open tcode se38 ,enter program RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH.
execute it, enter the details obtained from table rspcprocesslog table for the same and set the status to "G" and execute.
the process chain will be triggered.

Inserting job completion time stamp to another table

Hi - I've a requirement where i need to insert job completion timestamp to another table.
I'm loading data from oracle table to Sql server table. this job is running fine. Once this is done i need to insert the completion timestamp to another Sql server table.
Here is waht I did..
1) created a package with interface which loads the data from oracle table to Sql server table1.
2) created a refresh variable which gets the timestamp.
i wanna know if there is any ODI tool which loads this timestamp to another SQL server table once the data is loaded to the first SQL server table.

Just create a procedure which inserts the timestamp to the relevant sql table passing the variable as the the value and call this as the last step in your package.

Component Pick Release for Partial Discrete Job Quantity

I'm on 12.0.6 and we currently do not use component pick release, but we are considering doing so.
My employer currently creates a single discrete job (say 120 items) and then completes that discrete job over several days. Say they plan to produce 30 a day over 4 days. Is there a way to use component pick release to release that partial quantity?
So if we have three shifts running and we want to produce 30 a day, 10 each shift. We want to run component pick release 3 times a day for four days, only releasing the components needed for 10 assemblies each time? Possible?
Is the only alternative to create 12 different Work Orders?

when the move order is created..update the allocation and then perform transact move order
ex if for 10 qty move order is created..but if u wish to issue 5 qty to the job..then update the allocation..for the remaining u can just backorder the move order
