Web Dispatcher not doing the load balancing on the portal
Hi Experts
I am having a production issue where the SAP web dispatcher is not doing the load balancing on the portal.
We have ESS/MSS portal with 1 Message server and 2 Application servers. The Web dispatcher is installed on the message server itself. Here is my Web disp profile file
Profile generated by sapwebdisp bootstrap

wdisp/HTTPS/sticky_mask = 255.255.255.255
In my Web dispatcher Admin page, I see all the three application servers, however the requests are going to only 1 App server. We are using ENd to End SSL configuration for the web dispatcher.
We also have a reverse proxy in the landscape and reverse proxy is forwarding all the requests to the Web dispatcher. In Web disp Admin page>Dispatching Module>SSL End to END dispatching, I see only ONE table entry in the dispatching table and it is our Reverse Proxy.
As all the requests are coming from only one source (Reverse proxy), it seems to me that the sap web dispatcher is forwarding those to the same Application server every time.
Can anyone please advise ?
I also tried to configure logon group in NWA, the web dispatcher is detecting the logon group and all the app servers in the logon group. It still not doing the load balancing.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks
VinyVincent, can you please elaborate more ? Is the web dispatcher not able to recognize stateful and stateless application requests ?
I saw that the procedure for configuring SSL Termination on Web dispatcher is long and complicated and looks like SAP web dispatcher needs to have SSL certificate of its own. As we have no ABAP servers and only Java servers, I can not even create the PSEs using STRUST (as described in SAP help -http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/48/99c388d7c46bb9e10000000a42189d/frameset.htm
We already have SSL certificates for Java App servers.
I suppose there should be a way for web dispatcher to identify the incoming requests and forward to appropriate application servers.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

One of the J2EE component (server0) could not be started in the MMC
Hello there,
How do I redeploy the following SDAs using SDM remote GUI tool?
(Based on SAP note 942050)
com.sap.security.core.offline.sda (extract from SAPJEECOR*_.SCA)
com.sap.security.api.offline.sda (extract from SAPJEECOR*_.SCA)
com.sap.security.core.ume.service.sda (extract from SAPJEE*_.SCA)
When I tried to redeploy one of them, it gives me the following error:
~~~
SDM has not calculated any deployment actions.
Possible reasons:
All selected archives have already been deployed before in the same or in a higher version.
~~~
Kindly advise. Many thanks in advanced.
<u><i><i><b>Side note:</b></i></i></u>
The reason for doing is because I'm having this problem whereby one of the J2EE component (server0) could not be started in the MMC.
No recent upgrade was done to my Solution Manager 4.0 server. The J2EE stack just died suddenly.
Warmest regards,
EvaProblem solved.

Cannot Start J2EE Server via the MMC
Hello. We have recently installed the netweaver platform and stumbled upon a problem. We are utilizing the MMC to start the J2EE server. I have searched extensivly through the threads and have completed all of the suggestions. Including memory adjustments and security settings. When I right click on the service and hit start it changes from grey to yellow but then to grey again. Do you know where there is a log that I can view to see the error?
Best Regards,
PeteHi Peter,
Right click on the same service that you are trying to start and select developer trace.
This should give you a view on what may be causing the problem.

How to stop the dispatcher from starting the server?
Hi all,
I am trying to disable the dispatcher from starting the server automatically, Both in the service or daemon, and in the go.bat files.
Thanks
JeremyRight now, I start the state from the go.bat script.
Then I start the dispatcher from the go.bat script
what happens next, (the default setting after intsallation) is that the dispatcher calls the server in cmdline mode.
I would like to be able to start the 3 independently for troubleshooting.
Even when I try to use windows services to start them, I can only start the "state" and "dispatcher" service. Some how the dispatcher is calling the server, regardless of how I start the dispatcher.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Error:Get ProcessList FAoled 80004005,Unspecified error. How to fix this. Thank u for replies in advance.Hi:
Open MMC, ignore the error and then wait a few seconds and start the instance, after that point to your SID (select the SID) and SAVE the MMC snap-in.
This should fix your problem.

RaviHello Raviram,
in dispatcher developer trace file dev_disp is written:
Thu Jun 05 09:33:06 2014
*** ERROR => W0 (pid 2472) died [dpxxdisp.c 14241]

*** DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***
It means dispatcher went down after workprocesses went down. Please check files dev_w0, dev_w1,...
in the same directory (X:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS<xx>\work). There should be a reason why your
SAP ABAP system is not going up.
One of the reasons can by that database is not reachable. If you have Oracle, check if Oracle listener
is running. Check in operating system service OracleSID112TNSListener.
Other reasons can by a lack of virtual memory. Check size of your paging file. Usually you need at least
4GB RAM and 8GB page file.

For no reason the MMC for WSUS is not connectiing to the server
All,
I rebooted the WSUS server after a windows update and now I cannot connect to the WSUS server. I get error: connection error. I've reviewed all posts for this issue, but none of them help. This is ridiculous as I finally got it working
and once again, right after an update, it screws up!!! What is going on?
Here's the details of the error when copied to clipboard:
The WSUS administration console was unable to connect to the WSUS Server via the remote API.
Verify that the Update Services service, IIS and SQL are running on the server. If the problem persists, try restarting IIS, SQL, and the Update Services Service.
The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,
Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

Lee Feldman SMB ConsultantThank you for your input. At least you're not like Lawrence giving poor information.
Hmmmm.. having been working with this product for eight years now, while sometimes I make an erroneous statement, it rarely happens these days.
In this case, it is Yan Li who has given you incomplete information. In addition to the split-server scenario not supporting the
database on a Terminal Services server (which is the information provided by Yan, but not really relevant to this conversation), it is also true that WSUS has
never been supported on a Terminal Services server.
This was posted to the Release Notes, historically, but due to several omissions in the WSUS v3 SP2 Release Notes, does not appear in that document. (That is to say, the SP2 release notes were exclusive to the SP2 feature set, and were not inclusive of the
RTM and SP1 limitations and issues.)
Here is the entry from the
WSUS v3 Service Pack 1 Release Notes:
WSUS 3.0 SP1 is not supported on servers running Terminal Services
Although WSUS 3.0 SP1 may still run on servers running Terminal Services, doing so is not supported or recommended. WSUS 3.0 SP1 will not run on a server running Terminal Services in configurations using remote SQL Server implementations. Because all remote
custom actions (including installation) on a Terminal Services license server will be run as the system account, and the server's system account may not have permissions on the remote SQL Server, the installation may fail.

Unable to find the server in the MMC
Hi,
I had installed a server in my fine and it was running fine for a month.But after restarting my machine,i was not able to find the server in the SAP MMC. Only "SAP" was visible and all the components could not be found.But all the files are there..can anyone suggest me what could be the problem and what should be done to rectify it.
regards,
UmaHi Uma,
Open your SAP MMC and from menu option select file->add/remove snapin...
Click on add button and then select "SAP Systems manager".
Click next on the next screen and then specify System ID, Instance (as hostname instanceNumber) and then click on add button.
It will add this system in the list in sapmmc.

Bhavik
